Essay on Kabaddi

The craze for kabaddi rocketed up in the last few years everywhere as the Pro Kabaddi League started and people got teams of their state. The game of Kabaddi involves two teams who defend themselves from a raider from the opposite team. The game has now risen to international recognition. Here are some sample essays on kabaddi.

Essay on Kabaddi

100 Words Essay on Kabaddi

Kabaddi is a game of two different teams, each team containing seven players. One player is known as a"raider”, and raids into other teams' half courts and tries to touch as many players as they can while continuously chanting "kabaddi” in a single breath.

Kabaddi is one of the most famous sports in the Indian subcontinent and other neighbouring countries with different regional names. Kabaddi has two different variations, namely “standard style” and “circle style”.

Kabaddi is the national sport of Bangladesh. It is the state game of different states in India like Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Odisha. It is a highly regarded game in Nepal, taught and played in primary schools. It is also the country’s national sport.

200 Words Essay on Kabaddi

Kabaddi is a contact team sport. There are two teams of seven players each, who defend their courts from an offending player, trying to touch as many of the defending players as possible in a single breath. The raider team gets a point for every player their player touches from the opposite team and thereby eliminates them from the game. The defending team gets a point for the successful capture of a raider. Players are taken back into the game for each point scored by the team. This cycle of defending and raiding continues till there's no one left in a team.

Different Names Of Kabaddi | Kabaddi has different names in various regions. It is known as “hu-tu-tu” in the western region, “hu-do-do” in the eastern region, and “chadakudu” in the southern region of the Indian subcontinent. It is known as “ha-du-du” in Bangladesh and “kapardi” in Nepal.

Styles Of Kabaddi | Kabaddi has two different styles of playing depending on the shape of the ground. "Circle Style”, also known as "Punjabi Kabaddi” is a traditional form of Kabaddi played on a circle-shaped ground, and is most famous in rural areas of Punjab, that is, where it originated from. “Standard Style” is played in a rectangular-shaped court, and is widely played including that in various national and international competitions, such as the Asian games.

500 Words Essay on Kabaddi

The origin of Kabaddi goes back to ancient India. It is mentioned in the Sangam literature that Sadugudu (older name for Kabaddi) was practised for ages and was used as a warm-up sport before playing Jallikattu. Another form of this sport originated in Tamil Nadu 4,000 years ago.

Kabaddi was famous among the Yadava people. An Abhang by Tukaram states that Lord Krishna used to play Kabaddi in his childhood.

Kabaddi As A Competitive Sport | India first popularised Kabaddi as a competitive sport, with the first competitions organised in the late 1920s. The All India Kabaddi Federation was formed in 1950. Kabaddi was played as a demonstration sport during the first Asian games in 1951 in Delhi, and made a part of Asian games in 1990.

Rules of Kabaddi

There are different variations of Kabaddi but the basic rules of scoring a point, number of players, and declaring someone out are mostly the same. Let's take a look at the basic rules of Kabaddi.

Each team consists of 12 players from which only 7 players will be on the court at a time and others will be substitutes.

Matches are categorised according to the age and weight of players because of the physical nature of this contact sport.

Each game is played in two halves of 20 minutes with a 5-minute break at halftime.

A raider gets a point for every player of the other team he touches in a single breath. The defending team gets a point for the successful capture of a raider.

Players that are declared ‘out’ while raiding or defending can be taken in with each point scored.

Each team takes turns raiding and defending. The courts are switched after the halftime break.

The game in the same manner continues till the time up. The team that scores the maximum points is declared winner.

Coming of The Pro Kabaddi League

In a country dominated by cricket, the beginning of the Pro-Kabaddi League in 2014 glamorised the sport of Kabaddi in India, and it became the second most–watched sport event after the Indian Premier League. It helped many players from rural India to show their talent at the game at the national and international levels. Kabaddi getting recognised at a bigger level has fetched livelihood and a means of sustenance for many of those skilled at the game.

When I was in school, we used to play Kabaddi just as a pastime and because our seniors usually kept the cricket bat and ball with themselves. Unlike for other sports like cricket, football, and basketball, there weren't many competitions organised for Kabaddi despite there being some talented players around. However, with the beginning of the Pro-Kabaddi League, things have changed. My peers from school who have been good at Kabaddi right from school days are now playing in various tournaments organised by universities and state federations.

Good performance in Kabaddi is even fetching scholarships to these students. Now, I am in college in the capital of my state, and the players who played kabaddi with me in school are playing in various tournaments held by universities and state federations. Some players are even getting scholarships based on the amazing skills that they achieved playing kabaddi during school just to pass time.

A Short Note on Kabaddi- The Sport

While writing a  Kabaddi essay in English, we must make use of resources to gather relevant information about the sport. Kabaddi is a team sport that requires seven players in two teams. The aim of the sport is for a single player on offense to run into the opposing team’s court up to an extent and then tag out as many defenders of the opponent team as possible and return to the respective court anyhow without getting touched. To play this game it is essential to have a wide field of 10-13 meters long. It is played for approximately 20 minutes. Like any other game, the toss-winning team plays first in Kabaddi. The points are given based on the tagged players and also on stopping the raider. It seems like there is nothing more thrilling and exciting than watching a game of Kabaddi. The players, it is to be noted, are selected based on body weight and age.

An Essay on My Favorite Game Kabaddi

It is quite prevalent in the Indian states of Bihar, Punjab, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. The sport is also known by other names such as Kaudi, Pakaada and Himoshika in different regions. Both; men and women play it. The highest governing body of Kabaddi is The International Kabaddi Federation.

It is played between two teams. Each team has a total of 7 members in it. In every round, a person from one team knows as the “raider” goes to the court of the other team. His or her motive is to tag as many people of the other team as possible, known as “defenders” in a single breath. The raider has to do all of this and come back to his court without being tackled by the other team’s defenders. When a raider returns to his side of the court successfully, he scores points whereas the other team scores a point if they are able to stop the raider.

History of Kabaddi Game

The game kabaddi originated in the Tamil region and was spread throughout south-east Asia during the Tamil Empire. The name kabaddi originates from a Tamil word meaning “holding hands.” This game was said to be played by Gautama Buddha for recreational purposes. The credit for popularising this sport has been given to India. India was the first country to play kabaddi as a competitive sport by organising competitions and was also the pioneer in setting up an All India Kabaddi Federation.

Rules of Kabaddi Game

  • Each team should constitute a total of 12 players of whom 7 should play, and 5 should be substitutes.
  • Every match should be looked after by 6 officials: one scorer, two assistant scorers, one referee and two umpires.
  • The duration of the match is two halves of 20 minutes each with a 5-minute break in between.
  • In order to prove that he or she hasn’t taken another breath, the raider has to continuously keep saying the word “KABADDI” from the time he has entered the other team’s court, till the time he comes back to his court.
  • Defenders are only allowed to grab the raiders by their limbs or torso. They cannot hold onto their hair, clothes or any place else.

Evolution of Kabaddi

Kabaddi traces its origins back to ancient India, where it was a sport and a form of training for warriors. Similar games to Kabaddi are mentioned in ancient texts and folklore, though the exact origins of Kabaddi are shrouded in the mists of time.

  • Origins in Ancient India: Kabaddi’s origins trace back to ancient India, where people played it as a form of physical exercise and recreational activity. Ancient Indian texts like the Mahabharata and the Ramayana contain references to similar games, suggesting millennia-old origins for Kabaddi. Initially, Kabaddi was a simple game played by villagers in open fields or community spaces, requiring minimal equipment and relying on basic rules.
  • Informal Recreation to Organized Sport: Kabaddi evolved from a casual pastime to a more structured and organized sport. As its popularity grew, communities began organizing Kabaddi matches and tournaments, establishing rudimentary rules and regulations to govern gameplay.
  • Standardization of Rules: As Kabaddi gained popularity across different regions of India, enthusiasts tried to standardize the rules and format of the game. Various regional variants of Kabaddi, each with its own set of rules, began to coalesce into a more unified version known as “circle style” Kabaddi.
  • Formalization and Recognition: Kabaddi’s journey towards formalization and recognition as a sport accelerated in the 20th century. Countries like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh established national-level Kabaddi associations and federations to govern the sport and promote its growth.
  • International Expansion: Kabaddi’s reach expanded beyond South Asia with the organization of international matches and tournaments. The first recorded international Kabaddi match took place in 1936 between India and Japan, marking the beginning of Kabaddi’s journey onto the global stage.
  • Modernization and Commercialization: Kabaddi has undergone significant modernization and commercialization in recent decades, driven by the establishment of professional Kabaddi leagues and tournaments. Leagues such as the Pro Kabaddi League in India have attracted investment, sponsorship, and media attention, transforming Kabaddi into a commercially viable sport.

Rules and Gameplay of Kabaddi

Kabaddi is a high-intensity contact sport that requires agility, strength, and strategic thinking. Two teams, each consisting of seven players, compete against each other on a rectangular court divided into two halves. Here’s a detailed overview of the rules and gameplay of Kabaddi:

1. Basic Rules

  • Team Composition: Two teams compete in Kabaddi, comprising seven players on the field and several substitutes.
  • Field Dimensions: The playing area is usually a rectangle divided into two halves, with each team defending one half.
  • Duration: Two halves in a standard Kabaddi match, each lasting a specified duration, typically around 20 minutes, with a halftime break in between.
  • Objective: In Kabaddi, the objective is for a player, referred to as the “raider,” to enter the opposing team’s half, tag as many defenders as possible, and return to their own half without being tackled.

2. Gameplay Mechanics

  • Raiding: The raiding player, known as the “raider,” enters the opponent’s half and continuously chants “kabaddi” to indicate that they are not inhaling. The raider then tags one or more defenders and returns to their half before inhaling again.
  • Defending: The defenders, known as “stoppers,” attempt to prevent the raider from tagging them by grabbing hold of the raider and tackling them to the ground.
  • Tagging: To tag a defender, the raider must touch them with any part of their body and then return to their half. If the raider successfully tags a defender and returns to their half, the tagged defender is considered “out” and must leave the field.
  • Bonus Points: In addition to tagging defenders, raiders can earn bonus points by crossing specific lines on the opponent’s side or tagging multiple defenders in a single raid.
  • Revival: Teams can revive players tagged out by scoring points through successful raids or defensive plays. Revived players re-enter the game and continue contributing to their team’s efforts.

3. Strategies and Tactics

  • Offense: Teams employ various offensive strategies to maximize their raiding potential, such as coordinating raids to target weaker defenders, exploiting gaps in the opponent’s defense, and utilizing the element of surprise.
  • Defense: Defending teams focus on coordination, communication , and teamwork to stop raiders and prevent them from scoring points. Strategies include forming defensive chains, anticipating the raider’s movements, and executing well-timed tackles.
  • Teamwork: Kabaddi is a team sport that relies on smooth coordination and cooperation among players. Teams often develop specific strategies and play to capitalize on their strengths and exploit their opponent’s weaknesses.

4. Fouls and Penalties

  • Boundary Cross: If a raider crosses the boundary line or fails to return to their half within the specified time limit, they are considered “out,” and the defending team earns a point.
  • Self-Out: An opponent touching a raider and the raider being unable to return to their half before being tackled results in the raider being considered “out.”
  • Avoiding Contact: Defenders must avoid unsafely holding, pushing, or striking the raider. Violations result in penalties, and the opposing team earns points or additional raid opportunities.

Globalization and Professionalization of Kabaddi

Kabaddi has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, evolving from a traditional sport confined to South Asia to a globally recognized and professionalized phenomenon. Several key factors have driven this transformation:

  • Global Expansion: With the internet and social media advent, Kabaddi has gained exposure beyond its traditional strongholds in South Asia. International Kabaddi tournaments and competitions have been organized in various countries, attracting participation from teams worldwide. Kabaddi’s inclusion in multi-sport events such as the Asian Games and the South Asian Games has helped promote the sport globally.
  • Professional Leagues: The introduction of professional Kabaddi leagues, notably the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in India, has been instrumental in the professionalization of the sport. The Pro Kabaddi League, launched in 2014, introduced a franchise-based model similar to other popular sports leagues, attracting investment, sponsorship, and media attention. The league features top Kabaddi players worldwide, offering them lucrative contracts and opportunities to showcase their talent on a grand stage.
  • Commercialization: Professional Kabaddi leagues have transformed the sport into a commercially viable venture, generating revenue through broadcasting rights, sponsorships, ticket sales, and merchandise. Major corporations and brands have invested in Kabaddi, recognizing its potential as a marketable product with a growing fanbase. The commercial success of professional Kabaddi leagues has created economic opportunities for players, coaches, administrators, and other stakeholders associated with the sport.
  • Player Development: The professionalization of Kabaddi has led to an increased focus on player development and training infrastructure. Professional Kabaddi teams invest in scouting, talent development programs, and coaching staff to nurture young talent and groom them into elite athletes. Participation in professional leagues and tournaments on an international scale aids players in refining their skills and acquiring valuable experience by competing against top-tier opponents.
  • Media Coverage and Promotion: Professional Kabaddi leagues receive extensive media coverage through television broadcasts, live streaming, and digital platforms, reaching millions of viewers worldwide. Promotional campaigns, marketing initiatives, and celebrity endorsements further enhance Kabaddi’s visibility and appeal among audiences. Innovative production techniques, such as player mic’ing and augmented reality graphics, enhance the viewing experience and attract new fans to the sport.
  • Grassroots Development: Professional Kabaddi leagues invest in grassroots development programs to nurture talent at the grassroots level and promote participation in the sport among youth. Initiatives such as school outreach programs, coaching clinics, and talent identification camps help identify and groom future Kabaddi stars from a young age. By fostering grassroots participation and talent development, Professional Kabaddi leagues contribute to the sport’s long-term sustainability and growth.

  • Preserving Tradition while Embracing Innovation : One of Kabaddi’s main challenges is balancing preserving its traditional roots and embracing modernization and innovation. While efforts to professionalize the sport and expand its global reach are essential for growth, safeguarding Kabaddi’s cultural heritage and authenticity is crucial.
  • Infrastructure and Facilities : Developing modern sports infrastructure, including stadiums, training facilities, and coaching programs, is essential for Kabaddi’s long-term growth and sustainability. Investing in grassroots development and talent identification initiatives can help nurture the next generation of Kabaddi players and ensure a steady talent pipeline.
  • Global Expansion and Awareness : Kabaddi has made significant strides in expanding its footprint beyond South Asia, but there’s still room for further growth and awareness on the international stage. Continued efforts to promote Kabaddi through international leagues, tournaments, and media partnerships can help raise its profile and attract new fans and participants worldwide.
  • Professionalization and Commercialization : As Kabaddi becomes more professionalized, it is paramount to ensure the welfare and rights of players, coaches, and stakeholders. Implementing fair labor practices, providing adequate support and resources for athletes, and establishing sustainable revenue streams are crucial for Kabaddi’s long-term success as a professional sport.
  • Inclusivity and Diversity : Kabaddi has the potential to transcend cultural, geographical, and gender barriers, but it’s essential to ensure inclusivity and diversity within the sport. Encouraging involvement from underrepresented communities, advocating for women’s Kabaddi, and cultivating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all players can enrich the sport’s appeal and relevance.
  • Adapting to Changing Trends and Technologies : Kabaddi must adapt to changing trends, preferences, and technologies to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving sporting landscape. Embracing digital platforms, social media, and emerging technologies for fan engagement, content creation, and data analytics can help enhance the fan experience and drive growth opportunities.

Kabaddi is a testament to the enduring spirit of sport, transcending borders, cultures, and generations. From its humble beginnings as a traditional pastime to its status as a globally recognized phenomenon, Kabaddi continues to captivate audiences with its thrilling gameplay and rich cultural heritage. Kabaddi reminds us of the universal values that bind us all as players and fans unite to celebrate unity, courage, and sportsmanship. With its heritage deeply embedded in tradition and its vision directed toward the future, Kabaddi stands as a source of inspiration and pride for future generations.

Kabaddi is a sport that needs energy, dedication and skill. Playing Kabaddi requires a lot of strength and intelligence. Originated in the rural parts of India, the sport has earned worldwide recognition and viewership. There is a lot to know about the history and origin of the game.

Origin Of Kabaddi

Kabaddi originated over 4,000 years ago in the Southern part of India- Tamil Nadu. The game is said to have originated in the Vedic era. Essentially Kabaddi is played to showcase the strength of participants. The game found acceptance because people realised a certain amount of wit was needed to play and win the game. Research shows that the game was played during the Gautam Buddha period. All India Kabaddi Federation was founded in 1950. The game was a part of the Beijing Asian Games in 1990 and has since gained international prominence. The Pro Kabaddi League is now a famous league for Kabaddi players and hosts many tournaments.

Rule Of Playing Kabaddi

The game of Kabaddi is played between two teams. Each team has seven players. The match is based on the body weight and age of the players. A straight line is drawn in the middle of the court to separate the two teams. The line is called “pala”. The team winning the toss gets to play first. When the referee or umpire blows the whistle, the games begin. A player goes to the other side crossing the pala, and continuously chants “kabaddi-kabaddi”. Post this; he tries to touch a player from the opposite side. The players must try to escape or capture him and keep him in their court. If the opponent team succeeds in capturing him, the player is declared “dead”. However, if the player is successful and returns to his side, his team scores a point, and the player he has touched from the opponent team is declared “dead”. The dead players have to step outside the game and cannot participate in the game anymore. The defending team players can hold their hands like a chain to catch the opponent. The game of Kabaddi lasts for 40 minutes and is divided into sessions of 20 minutes each. There is a five-minute break in between the two halves. The team with the highest score wins the game.

Kabaddi: The origin, history and evolution of the sport

The epic Mahabharata, a demonstration at the Olympics and the Pro Kabaddi spotlight, here's everything you need to know about kabaddi's history.

The history of kabaddi  can be traced back to some 4,000 years ago in India. And while it has had roots in the country all this time, its spread hasn’t been as deep.

However, the advent of Pro Kabaddi in 2014 managed to urbanize the rural game into a 21st-century thriller and the sport hasn’t looked back since. In fact, it remains one of the most-watched sports in cricket-crazy India.

Kabaddi is said to have started as a form of practicing combat moves for battles and wars in ancient times.

“It is believed that kabaddi was invented to develop defensive responses by an individual against group attacks and group’s responses to an individual attack,” according to the World Kabaddi Federation . In fact, the game of kabaddi starts with a single raider going into the opponent’s side, which comprises seven defenders.

“This is the only combative sport in which offence is an individual effort whereas defence is a group effort,” the WKF pointed out.

Kabaddi history in the Mahabharata

Deeply rooted in Indian culture for centuries, kabaddi has even found a mention in Hindu mythology. In the Sanskrit epic Mahabharata , It is said that the Pandava warrior, Arjuna, mastered kabaddi’s skills from Lord Krishna, who adored the sport. The story goes that Arjuna would breach enemy walls inconspicuously and would walk back unscathed with his kabaddi skills.

T 1568 -It is said that the sport of #Kabaddi was created in remembrance of Abhimanyu the Warrior from Mahabharta ! #BachchanBol #Wednesday — Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) August 5, 2014

Another tale from the Mahabharata involves Arjuna’s son, Abhimanyu, who invaded the seven-tiered defence -- an army formation -- of the Kauravas. It draws sporting parallels to a single raider raiding in the opposition side of the mat, which often has seven defenders.

Apart from Mahabharata, it is also believed that Lord Gautam Buddha used to play kabaddi during his leisure time.

Kabaddi’s origin: India or Iran?

It is a popular belief that kabaddi originated from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. In India, the sport had different names in different states before its establishment as the sport it’s recognised today. It was called Chedugudu or Hu-Tu-Tu in the southern part of the country, while it was referred to as Hadudu (for men) and Kit-Kit (for women) in the east.

Some argue that the sport originated in Iran about 5,000 years ago. “My hometown, Sistan, was where it was first found,” claimed Meraj Sheykh, a notable kabaddi player from Iran.

“Several ancient books spoke about it too. We were the original founders of the game, not India,” Meraj told ESPN India.

It wasn’t until the early 20th century that the sport finally got its recognition. In 1918, the first official rules and regulations of kabaddi were brought into effect before it was declared as the national sport of India. However, it took five years to print those documents for circulation.

In 1923, an all India tournament of kabaddi was held in Baroda and since then, several national-level tournaments have been organised across the country.

Kabaddi in Olympics and Asian Games

Kabaddi in India got its first international exposure during the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. Although the sport wasn’t officially a part of the sporting extravaganza, a 35-member kabaddi team from Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal (HVPM), an educational institute in Amravati, was invited to demonstrate the antics in Berlin.

The team performed at the Congress of Physical Education a day before the commencement of the Olympics leaving spectators amused. The team, eventually, received medals on the final day of the Berlin Olympics .

The widespread recognition of the sport saw the establishment of the All India Kabaddi Federation (AIKF) in 1950, which staged the first men's and women’s national tournament in 1955 in Chennai and Kolkata respectively, after running it as a demonstration sport in the inaugural 1951 Asian Games .

In 1972, the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) was formed to promote the game in India’s neighbouring countries. The decision bore fruit as the first Asian Kabaddi Championship was held in 1980 where Japan, Nepal, Malaysia, Bangladesh and India contested. The Indian national kabaddi team defeated Bangladesh in the final to become the first-ever champion.

In 1982, the game was once again added as a demonstration sport in the 1982 Asian Games before it was finally established as a medal sport in the 1990 Asiad. India have always been a superior side in the Asian Games, winning all but one of the eight finals since 1990. It wasn’t until 2018 that their winning streak was halted by Iran in the final.

Kabaddi World Cup offers glory

Eventually, the sport made way for the Kabaddi World Cup in 2004, which was hosted by India in Mumbai.

Twelve teams participated in the competition, and the Indian kabaddi team asserted its domination by going unbeaten throughout the tournament before lifting the title by defeating Iran 56-28 in the final.

Till date, as many as three Kabaddi World Cups ( standard style ) have been hosted -- all in India -- and all the three finals have seen India beating Iran for the trophy. The 2016 Kabaddi World Cup , however, holds a special place in the sport as this was the first time a world cup for women was hosted.

Pro Kabaddi takes it to the masses

However, it wasn’t until 2014 that the sport got its due. The start of Pro Kabaddi elevated the status of the sport manifold by taking a rural pastime to primetime television nationwide. Till date, as many as seven PKL seasons have been played and as many as five different teams have lifted the title.

In its seven seasons, stars likes Anup Kumar , Pardeep Narwal , Rahul Chaudhari , Deepak Niwas Hooda and Ajay Thakur have dominated the sport in raiding, while Manjit Chhillar , Ravinder Pahal , Fazel Atrachal i and Sandeep Narwal have been solid at the back.

A sport that has its roots bestowed in India has come a long way, and it is certain to make massive strides in the years to come. As per Google’s ‘Year in Search 2019’ report, the Pro Kabaddi league generated a whopping nine per cent growth in viewership with 1.2 billion impressions. It thus became the second-most searched tournament in India after the Cricket World Cup in 2019. This comes down to show the growth this sport has made over the years.

An Example Paragraph On Kabaddi For Students

Read the following brief 500+ words paragraph on Kabadi and it’s important for all class students.

Table of Contents

Paragraph On Kabadi | Rules, Importance, And Benefits of Playing Kabadi Game

Introduction paragraph.

Kabadi is a game by Kabaddi. Kabadi is famous in India and Pakistan. It is played on the basis of catching players trying to run across the line. The game is very fast-paced, so there is no time to relax between games! The sport requires intense physical activity, mental focus, excellent communication skills, and teamwork to be successful at kabaddi.

Supporting Paragraph

It all starts with a player chanting loudly “kabaddi Kabadi” while running across half of the opposing team’s pitch / field / pitch (this may vary based on personal preference or region). This player, known as a raider, will attempt to tag players on the other side before returning over their own sideline / border. If he does this and no one on the other team catches him before he comes back over his sideline, the players he marked will be out.

The raider can now roam freely and tag as many people as possible before being caught by someone from the other side who has also crossed into his half. If a raider is caught, they must either stop where they are and remain standing or retreat behind the line in the center of the field (this rule varies by region). Players marked but not caught can continue to play until all remaining players cross each other’s lines (on either side), at which point all those marked and not caught are eliminated.

As soon as everyone is on the same team, it is the turn of the team that still has people in the game (people who can still play) as the raid team. The game will continue until all players on both teams have been eliminated.

The goal of Kabadi is very similar to that of American football: you are not really there to use teamwork with your opponent, only against him! The best way to win most sports games is to overwhelm your opponent with your own strengths – this is true most of the time in Kabaddi, but it’s also important that you work together too so that nobody misses an opportunity for a day

This makes kabadi a great sport for friends and family members to play at gatherings and other such gatherings. The game is easy to learn, fun for all ages, and can be played pretty much anywhere!

Kaabadi is a very famous kabaddi sport. It takes speed and perseverance to run quickly across the court and tag opponents before they return to their side of the court. This game takes a lot of practice, but is extremely fun and can be played with many different people at the same time! You can also consider learning about kabaddi if you are interested in wrestling or martial arts as this game will improve your physical skills and teach you self defense techniques. Otherwise go ahead and play Kabadi!

Kabaddi is an Indian contact sport that has become very popular all over the world. It’s a mix of day and wrestling, but instead of marking with their hands, the kabaddi players mark themselves with their feet. Each team consists of seven players, and each team defends its goal line while trying to attack the other team’s backline. Control of the Tig area is done by standing in that area until the person who was tagged returns to their side of the field. The raider receives one point for each opponent he marks if he succeeds in crossing his own goal line again or crossing it after being marked.

Kabadi requires extreme concentration as after crossing half of your opponents you will have little time before they catch you! No matter where you practice this sport, it will improve your physical skills because you need to be fast and strong to be successful. People also tend to learn self-defense techniques by playing kabadi. It’s a great game for everyone.

Conclusion paragraph

Kabaddi is a wonderful Importance sport that can be enjoyed by everyone! It will improve your physical skills, teach you self-defense techniques, and it’s an exciting game that will keep you focused until the last second. There are many ways to play this awesome game so go ahead and have fun doing kabaddi.

Method of Playing Kabaddi

Kabaddi is an outdoor game played on a big field or school grounds, which requires great stamina and strength. The game does not require any equipment, but it is played in two teams with 7 players each. Each of the teams stands at both ends of the court, and several rounds are played between them within a time frame. One player from the team enters the court of the other team and tries to touch the players, thus making them out of the round. Let us further see what happens in the game through this essay on my favourite game Kabaddi in English.

The fun of the game is that the player must chant the words ‘kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi’, continuously in a single breath, and the opposing players must try to catch them, without being touched by the player. If the player manages to reach their court without stopping their chanting, then that team wins the round, and all the players from the opposing team who touched them would be out.

On the other hand, if the team catches the player before they reach their court, and they run short of their breath, then that team wins, and the player becomes out. The game resumes with the remaining players, and points are added to each team for each win. And the team with the highest score wins the competition.

An Essay on My Hobby is Playing Kabaddi [PDF]

Today in this essay presentation, we are going show you the example essay on my hobby is playing Kabaddi.

kabaddi feature image

I love athletics. For me playing sports is fun and exhilarating. I enjoy the social aspect, the competition, and the skills it takes to play just about any game or team sport. My body has become a fine-tuned machine because of the skills I have developed.

Out of all the sports, there are, I enjoy Kabaddi the most. I grew up playing it and despite any disagreements the game never gets old. It is fun to try to tag the other players and run up the score.

One aspect I like is that it is a simple game to play. There are no balls to learn how to dribble or bounce. There is no special equipment outside of the team uniform and there are no walls or other obstacles that you can run into and hurt yourself.

Kabaddi is pure clean fun that allows me to spend time with my friends staying healthy and enjoying the fresh air if we play outside. The lack of equipment means that we have to use our minds, create a great strategy and be able to move fast in order to win the game. Those aspects really appeal to me.

In some ways, Kabaddi is like chess. You use your mind, create strategies and try to move out of danger as fast as you can in chess as well. Outwitting my opponents is far more attractive than trying to beat them physically like basketball or other physical athletic sports.

Of course, the women get the smaller playing field but I do not mind. The extra space to run allows me to stay in top shape and remain healthy. Another aspect I like is that a lot of my friends can play at the same time.

With 7 players on the field, very few are left out of the fun and the action. Of course, some versions have only 4 players but that is still large enough for everyone to enjoy themselves and play hard.

The one difficulty I always have trouble with is holding my breath and shouting all the time I am running. It is a challenge and training to get that right is not always fun. It is hard to say how many points I have cost my team because I just can’t get that requirement right.

Kabaddi is my hobby and there is a good reason for it being that way. I do not think I am good enough to play the game professionally. I would like to but my talents are not fully developed where I can match wits and stamina with those who have played professionally for years.

It would be exciting to have thousands of people cheering for me to get that winning point without sacrificing any. As it stands we have about 20 people cheering us on when we play on the weekends.

That may not be exciting or a large crowd but at least we get to entertain a few friends who can’t play and help them have a great time during the match. Usually, it is just our girlfriends who show up and cheer us on.

For me, that is enough and I am content with making her proud. I may not be a great player but in her eyes, I am a hero and that helps motivate me to practice hard and get better at the game.

Even when we lose she is there to help cheer me and make me feel better. That is one of the best reasons for playing Kabaddi. Having thereafter we finish means the world to me.

The simplicity of Kabaddi does not mean it is a bad sport to pay. Instead, that makes the game more fun as there are not a lot of tricks to master or equipment to fail. It is hard to imagine a better sport to play than this one.

How was the essay on Kabaddi? I hope you like it if so let me know in the comment section.

Essay on kabaddi

Kabaddi is an age-old sport popular in different parts of the world. The word Kabaddi is derived from the Tamil word Kai-pidi which implies “gripping hands”. This is the national game of Bangladesh and is also played in various parts of India. Specifically, this game is more popular in villages of Tamil Nadu, Bihar, UP, Punjab, Gujarat, MP, and Maharashtra. Kabaddi is also known as Hu Tu Tu in other regions of the state.

Kabaddi is considered as a unique game as it does not involve any equipment like other games and only requires a playground. It is played between two teams of seven players each. One player from each side recites “kabaddi…kabaddi..kabaddi..” and goes into the opposition area and makes the best possible efforts to touch at least one player of the opposition team and then tries to go back to his own area safely.

Conversely, all the 7 players of the opposition try to grip him under their control and do not let him go back to his own half safely. If the player successfully touches the opposition player and returns back to his half safely, he manages to make his own player alive who had been out of the game earlier and also scores the points. The whole game is played for a period of 20 minutes and the team who has the highest points wins the game.

Various kabaddi world cups and leagues are organized at the international level to inculcate the spirit of sports among the people and make this game recognized at the international level. People must engage themselves in such games as it makes the people active and lively and also strengthens the muscles. Games and sports are a part and parcel of life. In fact, they are as important as studies.  I love to take part in games. Kabbadi is my favorite game. Last Sunday, a Kabbadi match was played on the Mandi grounds. It was played between our college team and S.A. Jain College team. Our caption won the toss and selected of the side. The game started at 3.20 p.m. Our caption won the toss and selected the side. Our caption went  to the side shouting, “Kabaddi, Kabbadi”. Nobody came near him. He himself moved forward and touched a player. He came back without losing his breath. He won the first point. Then a player of the rival team took his turn. One of our players caught hold his right leg. He lost breath. The game went on for about an hour. The captain of the rivals team tried his best score maximum point. There were many ups and down in the game. We won and lost many points. At last, the referee gave the whistle. He counted the points and announced the results. Our team won the match by 62-58 points. It was a well contested match. The students of our college raised shouts of joy. It was a golden moment for us all. We were in high spirits. The principal of our college congratulated our players. He also applauded the players of the S.A Jain college for their good performance. Both the team left the ground in good cheer.
