Our teams in Atlanta focus on theoretical and application aspects of computer science with a strong focus on machine learning and the algorithmic foundations and theoretical underpinnings of deep learning, with applications to natural language understanding, machine perception, robotics, and ubiquitous computing and sensing.

In Berlin, our teams work on a range of topics from foundational to more applied and involve data comprised of text, images, video, audio and more. We are engaging and collaborating closely with Berlin’s vibrant academic and startup communities.

Numerical Scientist (Machine Learning/Quantum Physics)

The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology’s Laboratory for Quantum Information Processing is seeking a candidate familiar with computational physics. We are particularly interested in candidates experienced in quantum physics and/or deep learning. Experience in high-performance computing and parallel algorithms is a plus. The start date is flexible.

The candidate will work as part of a team lead by Jacob Biamonte devoted to realizing national priority initiatives supporting the development of quantum computing. The laboratory is focused on the theory and applications of quantum algorithms. The candidate is expected to optimize and develop numerical solutions related to the emulation of quantum systems. Additionally, the candidate should be able to apply neural networks to provide solutions to data driven quantum problems related to experimental data.

Experience level. 1-3 years or 5 years plus depending on background. Compensation is competitive. Employment is full-time. Candidates would typically hold a PhD or equivalent experience.
