Clinical Research Assistant / Coordinator (m/w/d) - Berlin

Sind Sie auf der Suche nach einer Chance oder einer neuen Herausforderung in der klinischen Forschung? Möchten Sie für ein branchenführendes Unternehmen arbeiten? IQVIA sucht derzeit nach einem/r Studienassistenten/in / Koorinatoren/in, die/der am Standort in Berlin die Durchführung einer klinischen Studie unterstützt.

Diese Teilzeitstelle (20 Stunden pro Woche) mit Start Anfang/Mitte Mai ist für ca. 18 Monate zu besetzen.

Zu den täglichen Aufgaben gehören:

• Koordinierung klinischer Forschungsstudien und Aufrechterhaltung eines sicheren Studienumfelds gemäß den Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsrichtlinien unter der Leitung und Delegation des Principal Investigators
• Sicherstellung des Wohlergehens der Probanden, Vertretung der Freiwilligen und Eingehen auf deren Belange bei gleichzeitiger Gewährleistung der höchsten Qualität der Pflege
• Betreuung der Probanden und Unterstützung des Personals bei administrativen Aufgaben
• Pflege von Studienprotokollen, Fallberichtsformularen (CRFs), elektronischen Datenerfassungssystemen (EDC) und anderen Studiendokumenten auf dem neuesten Stand
• Planung und Koordinierung der logistischen Aktivitäten für Studienverfahren gemäß dem Studienprotokoll
• Durchführung der klinischen Vorbereitungen für die Studie, einschließlich der Beschriftung von Probenentnahmeröhrchen und -behältern, der Inventarisierung des erforderlichen Materials und der Einrichtung oder Behebung von Problemen mit der Ausrüstung und/oder der Studie
• Mithilfe bei der Dateneingabe, der Überprüfung der Datenqualität und der Beantwortung von Fragen, um die Einhaltung des Studienprotokolls und die Qualitätskontrolle auf inhaltliche Richtigkeit und Vollständigkeit sicherzustellen
• Unterstützung bei der Aufnahme von Probanden in die Studie durch Rekrutierung, Screening und Einweisung gemäß dem Studienprotokoll
• Sammeln, Erfassen und Berichten klinischer Daten und Befunde in angemessener Weise in CRFs und Zusammenarbeit mit dem Prüfarzt über studienbezogene unerwünschte Ereignisse und schwerwiegende unerwünschte Ereignisse gemäß dem Studienprotokoll
• Koordinierung mit dem Studienmonitor bei Studienproblemen und effektive Beantwortung der vom Monitor gestellten Fragen.

Wir suchen Kandidaten mit den folgenden Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen:

• Mindestens ein Jahr einschlägige Erfahrung; oder eine gleichwertige Kombination aus medizinischer Ausbildung, Schulung und Erfahrung 
• Kenntnisse über klinische Studien, kombiniert mit fundierten Kenntnissen der abteilungs-, protokoll- und studienspezifischen Arbeitsabläufe, Einverständniserklärungen und Studienpläne
• Ausgeprägte IT-Kenntnisse, geübt im Umgang mit MS Windows und Office-Anwendungen wie Access, Outlook, Excel und Word
• Ausgezeichnete zwischenmenschliche Fähigkeiten mit der Fähigkeit, effektive Arbeitsbeziehungen aufzubauen und zu pflegen

The DDGLC is a long-term project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and hosted by the Freie Universität Berlin. The project aims at a systematic, comprehensive and detailed lexicographical compilation and description of Greek loanwords as attested in the entire Coptic corpus through all dialects and sorts of text. Its intended outcome shall be the production of an online searchable database and of a dictionary.

Job description:

Lexicographical indexing of Greek words in Coptic texts with lemmatization, translation, and grammatical analysis; Minor administrative tasks for the project. Within the framework of the project a doctorate in the field of Greek and Coptic philology can be pursued.

Requirements:

Applicants hold an excellent degree (M.A.) in Classical Studies, Coptology, Early Christian Studies, Egyptology, Linguistics, or related disciplines.

Profound skills in Coptic and a sound knowledge of (Classical or Koine) Greek are preconditions. Good skills in spoken and written English are likewise expected. Previous experience in fields of linguistics such as contact linguistics, lexicology or linguistic typology), and/or IT resp. Digital Humanities would be an advantage. Applicants will be expected to stay at Berlin and to have the intention to work on a PhD in the field of Coptic philology or linguistics.

The SPP 1833 "Building a habitable Earth" seeks to improve our understanding on how Earth became the only known habitable planet, and offers a unique environment and infrastructure for the training of early career researchers studying topics related to the evolution of the early Earth ( http://www.habitableearth.uni-koeln.de ).

We aim to elucidate the early Archean sulfur cycle to place constraints on early Archean geodynamic processes by using sulfur stable isotopes. The PhD work within the project involves detailed petrography, electron microprobe, wet chemical lab work, gas mass spectrometry and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) analyses.

Diploma/M.Sc. in geosciences or a related field.

Research Assistant (PhD student) (f/m/d)- A210-24

The Institute of Environmental Physics (IUP) at the University of Bremen is looking at the earliest possible date for two research assistants (PhD students) (f/m/d) German federal pay scale E 13 TV-L (75 %) limited to 3 years (according to § 2 WissZeitVG)

on the research topic Remote sensing of aerosols and their properties in the Arctic using satellite data

Both positions are embedded in the third phase of the very successful Collaborative Research Center (AC)³, which is funded by the German Research Foundation. (AC)³ aims to develop a better scientific understanding of Arctic amplification (and thus Arctic warming).

Climate models have difficulties in simulating Arctic mixed-phase clouds at low altitudes. A significant part of this difficulty is attributed to the inadequate representation of aerosol particles. Aerosols are a heterogeneous mixture of solid or liquid suspended particles in the air. Arctic aerosols are measured at only a few ground-based stations or during time-limited measurement campaigns. For this reason, Arctic aerosols are relatively poorly characterized. It is therefore important to be able to use satellite data to derive aerosol quantities in order to significantly increase the knowledge base.

The advertised positions thus deal with Arctic aerosols derived from satellite data. This involves the need to investigate changes in the spatial aerosol distribution and its properties as well as the effects on Arctic amplification.

The individual satellite data sets cover a range of 60°N and 90°N and approximately two decades and have been (or will be) derived using data from a number of satellite radiometers. In order to be able to observe the spatial distribution and temporal changes, existing data sets of the aerosol quantity (characterized by the Aerosol Optical Thickness, AOD) are to be examined.

Task for the first PhD student (position 1)

• Integration: First, existing AOD data sets are to be merged and validated.
• Trends: Trends are to be determined from this data set and analyzed together with the spatial and temporal patterns of the data set on the pan-arctic scale. Model results should also be included.
• Analysis of Arctic amplification: Finally, data sets will be evaluated with regard to Arctic amplification and feedback mechanisms. The project will work closely with the (AC)³ partners at the University of Leipzig and Cologne, the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) and TROPOS (Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research).

Task for the second PhD student (position 2)

• Gap filling and extension: The AOD datasets contain temporal gaps that need to be filled and extended in terms of temporal length. It must be tested to what extent existing data sets from established satellite missions are suitable for filling these gaps or can act as an extension. The individual data sets must then be validated.
• Analysis with regard to biomass burning and phytoplankton: Partial or the entire data set should then be analyzed with regard to subarctic biomass burning and changes in aquatic chlorophyll growth. In cooperation with partners of the (AC)³ consortium, the extent to which new maritime sources of aerosols can be observed will be investigated.

What you should bring:

• a completed university degree in natural sciences (diploma or master of science in physics, geophysics, environmental physics, meteorology, mathematics or computer science) with an average grade better than or equal to 2.0 in the German system or B in the Anglo-Saxon grading system.
• Good to very good experience in Unix/Linux working environments and very good programming skills in Python or at least a high-level language.
• Knowledge of handling satellite data.
• Strong interest in atmospheric science with a focus on light scattering, radiative transfer, remote sensing methods/observations and climate.
• Creative and independent research mentality.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and spoken English.

Sr research assistant.

We are seeking a  Sr Research Assistant will primarily be responsible for conducting data cleaning, data management and analysis of data for a research project focused on substance use. The position will primarily be focused on management and analysis of data collected from longitudinal studies. There will be an expectation that the Senior Research Assistant participates in quality control procedures to check the quality of ongoing data collection for several data collection activities. The Senior Research Assistant will need to work closely with

core members of the research group achieve project goals. Collaborative communication skills are key.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct statistical analyses of data collected from projects to support study investigators.
• Contribute to the management and analysis of study data sources.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control procedures for data collection/analysis.
• Assist with programming of survey data collection tools.
• Assist as needed with data merging and cleaning.
• Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. MPH or MS in relevant field preferred.
• Two years of related experience.
• Additional graduate level education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
• Masters Degree in Public Health, Biostatistics or Epidemiology or relevant field.

For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
