Noise Pollution

Some people think that they can make as much noise as they want, while others think that the amount of noise people make should be strictly controlled. Discuss both views and include your own opinion and examples. It is unfortunately the case that in any society we can find a number of people who do not respect to the social rights of others. One of the most disturbing cases is making noise either in public or people's private life. While the majority of people believe that the amount of noise produced by individuals must be restricted, there are still people who think that they have freedom to make noise regardless of considering other's life. In this essay, I will explain my point of view by examining both sides of the argument. Some people think that they should not take any responsibility related to limiting or decreasing the noise made by them. They claim that controlling the amount of the noise by rules and regulations not only invades their personal privacy, but it violates their social freedom. For example, in their view, listening to music loudly or hosting night parties in their own apartments would be considered as their basic human rights of being happy. There is, however, a strong argument that it is the responsibility of all members of a society to respect others' social life. Most people object to disrupting other's life by making unlimited noises. They believe that making noise should be controlled as much as possible when it creates disturbance for others by regulating strict rules. A common example here is to prohibit talking over cell phones loudly in the public such as in a subway which is clearly creating disturbance for people who are near the person while it has been frequently happening. In my view, any type of activity that creates disturbance for citizens' life must be controlled, and noise is no exception. Please give me some comment on my environmental problems essay, especially on grammatical mistakes, thank you Should global environmental damage be managed by the government or individuals? with the rapid development of modern world, global environment hazards are brought to our attention, some people suggest that the government should play a more important role on reducing the environmental damage, while others believe that the individual efforts cannot be ignored. to begin with, one of the major environmental hazards is the uncontrolled greenhouse gases emission by burning fossil fuel. in order to tackle the problem, the government plays a vital role. for example, the united nations have reached the agreement on annual carbon emission even china has promised to reduced the emission to international standard. it is obvious that the government has the power to alter others attitude towards environmental issue, which can be use to minimise carbon emission. on top of this, government can effectively prevent deforestation by reinforcing law and employing heavy punishment to offenders. in some rural countries, where people rely on logging business, the industry cut down trees incautiously and leads to serious rainforest destruction. if strict regulations are applied by the authority, the natural environment can be preserved. however, individual can also make a great deal of effort on reducing impact by altering their lifestyle. the air quality would be greatly improved if people are willing to use public transport instead of private cars. landfill will be prolonged if people abandon the use of plastic as packaging materials and seek eco friendly alternatives. if people have the conception of recycling, the amount of pollutants produced will be significantly reduced. on a whole, the government plays a crucial role on this worldwide issue. however, the individual influence cannot be underestimated.

Paying to Clean Up the Environment

Many people believe that companies and individuals should pay to clean up the environment in proportion to the amount of pollution they have produced. Do you agree or disagree? Over the past decades of ecological history, various environmental problems that the world faced; some may due to natural catastrophe, but most of them are caused by human activities. As a result, many countries have to bear with pointless expenditure to rejuvenate the state of their environment. Some people argued that every individual inclusive company is obliged to pay the cleaning cost of their actions that lead to environmental degradation, while others believed that certain actions are just unavoidable. This essay will present both sides of arguments before a reasoned conclusion is drawn. To begin with, Go Green defenders claimed that everyone should be penalized for their doings that caused environmental problems. Although this may be true to certain extent, however, some of the contamination results from human actions are just inevitable. In the modern era, many daily activities require energy to operate. Most of the energy that human used such as fuel and coals, contain with combustible materials, which will contribute to the environment pollution. Despite the existence of renewable and clean energy, this technology is still expensive at the moment and not every individual can afford to have. Hence, putting these costs and blames on these low level incomes groups will definitely burden them. However, certain activities that harmed the environment are primarily motivated for self-interest. This can be easily evident from irresponsible companies that earned large profits from their noncompliance’s activities such as over logging. Another great example is where household family discarded unwanted objects or food recklessly just to avoid paying disposal or cleaning fee. All these self-centeredness actions have caused serious global warming. Thus, by imposing penalty on these selfish deeds, government can utilize this fund to restore and improve the ecosystem. To sum up, there are clear supporting reasons for both sides of views; however, in my opinion, it is still believed that preserving the ecosystem is a responsibility of every person. Over many decades, human beings have been damaging the ecosystem, but it has always been criticized the ways in which they are damaging the environment. It is essential to understand these different methods which are responsible in polluting the environment. In this essay, all possible ways of damaging the environment will be examined before pointing out the roles of government and an individual in this pressing matter. To begin with the numerous means which cause the ecosystem polluted and destructive. Firstly, the deforestation where humans continually cutting down the trees for making the room for the living or constructing the new houses. As a result, many countries are being affected by flood and other natural disasters. Secondly, in order to fulfil the needs of the people, factories and mills are emitting the carbon which causes the ozone layer is being damaged. Consequently, the harmful rays are impacting adverse to the people’s health. Finally, the wastage, which is being collected by the people, is being poured into the soil which makes the land infertile. After examining the different ways, it has been clear that humans are responsible for making the environment worse. Next, the question is that what the government should do for addressing these acute problems. The government can play a pivotal role in order to highlight the issues of global warming. In other words, people can get familiar with the negative effects of global warming by organizing the government funded awareness camps. Moreover, media can play an important role by having the collaboration with government to address the pressing issues of damaging environment on television. On the other hand, people can control their habits which cause the environment polluted. For instance, by avoiding the usage of plastic bags they can save the environment from pollution to some extent. In addition to this, they can control their desires which cause the factories and mills to produce more to fulfill their demands. Therefore, undoubtedly, if both government and an individual understand their responsibilities towards the environment, it can be saved from the destruction. In conclusion, after analyzing the different ways of damaging the environment, and the significant roles of the government and an individual. The global environment is deteriorating at accelerated phase due to human activities where states and individuals have a major role to play together to prevent this and preserve the environment. At the outset, human activities such as deforestation for housing and factories shrink the green cover of the world which further impacted by the emission of greenhouse and toxic gases with the use of fossil fuel in vehicles and factories. Moreover, the excessive use of non-degradable plastics damages the soil vegetation and impact marine life. Though these are essential for the day to day life, the irresponsible behaviors of humans has done irreparable damage to the Mother Nature. On the other hand, governments around the world are in the confusing battle of prioritizing the environment protection over the creation of better life for their citizens. The focus should be directed to preserving the forest cover with clear demarcation and strict regulation on emission levels. Furthermore, state should encourage the scientific research on alternatives for plastic with bio-degradable materials which are similar in terms of convenience and alternative sources of sustainable energy in place of fossil fuel. However the general public cannot wash their hands off from this global issue where they also have to realize the social role in preservation of environment. This should include from preventing littering, reducing the use of plastics or reuse them to reduce the damage to use of alternative modes of transport then excessive use of fuel driven private cars. Furthermore, this can be improved by creating a demand for organically grown food instead of consuming produce of modern farming techniques which use chemical fertilizer that disturbs the lives inside the soil and water ways near the farms. In a nutshell, the prevention of environmental pollution is not only a responsibility of governments though they are the predominant party to plan macroeconomic policy for solutions but also a responsibility of individuals to adopt environmental friendly lifestyle.

Improving the Environment Essay

Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment. Only governments and large companies can make a difference. To what extent do you agree or disagree? In this modern era where technology and industrialization has highly developed, keeping the environment safe and clean has become a big concern for human kind. Some people say that governments and large companies should play a big role to protect the nature and take appropriate measures to solve the problems. In my opinion individuals can also contribute to the nature protection on their own level. First of all, one of the main issues that we encounter today is air pollution and the smoke of factories and cars is the main cause of it. Thus in order to reduce the air pollution people should use public transport instead of private cars to commute to the work. In this way the number of cars will be decreased and so will be the harmful smoke that they emit to the air. Secondly, the second biggest problem is the garbage. We can reduce garbage by recycling the materials and reuse it. Thus people should sort out the garbage and throw them away properly. Some wastes such as bottles and plastic papers take centuries to get absorbed into the soil and harm the animal habitat for a long time. Therefore, recycling the bottles, cans and using paper bags instead of plastic ones could be the answer to it. At last, some of our earth's energy resources such as electricity, food supply, water are non-renewable. Thus it would be better if we consider consuming energy supplies properly by turning off the light and other electronic devices when not using them and saving water by closing tap after use. In conclusion, however, protecting the environment is a big topic it is not that far from our lives. In other words individuals surely can help to improve the condition by doing minor habitual things including using a public transport, recycling, saving energy and so on. Our future is in our hands. If we do not start implementing and influencing others in protecting our mother nature then who would be in responsible of it.

To what extent do you agree or disagree.   There is no doubt that extending help to someone during tough times is paramount. Rich countries should support poverty-stricken nations with altruistic aid while calamities take place. I completely agree with the statement and convey my views concerned to it in the following essay.   Affluent countries are stocked with essential resources like money, medicine, groceries, and equipment. For example, the USA has got reserves of such resources for the next 100 years. Being rich, similar nations are in a position to support countries that suffer economically and emotionally during nature havoc. The result of this is, not only induces good relations between countries but also paves the way to commercial transactions with minimized taxes in the future, as similar happened in the case of Vietnam and Japan.   The help of advanced technologies from higher nations results in rescuing and retention of casualties’ precious lives. The help-seeking countries certainly have lack sophisticated technologies to forecast, mitigate natural calamities. For example, life detecting flights were brought from other nations and deployed to identify soldiers with active heartbeats but struggling to survive during the Kargil war. As a result, quite a several soldiers survived and good relations, trust were established between nations. In return, it resulted in 1 billion dollars worth of armory purchase transactions.   To sum up, as per a saying ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed ‘, wealthy nations must support deprived countries. In contemporary society there is a ongoing discussion whether sufficient waste from homes is recycled to increase longevity of sources and thus, livebility of environment. Some group of people also claim that governments should be obliged to take action on that issue via providing laws regarding that issue. Although, governments’ providing a legal requirement might be beneficial to some extent, it might not be fully effective. For instance, some group of people might perceive this law as only made to please environmentalists. Due to that reason some people might exclude themselves from responsibilities law enforced to them. Moreover, some group of people only take into account their personal gains. Therefore, may not be interested with providing a good environmental heritage to upcoming future generations. When all these mentioned diverse perspectives taken into account utilizing positive reinforcement might be more beneficial for increasing the amount recycled waste. For instance, in Germany the amount of recycling is high because citizens are given a very low cash prize like 1 euro in return to the every plastic bottle they recycled. Therefore, while enforcing laws on people the characteristics of society and the impact of these society on people should taken into account while creating a legislation for the citizens. However, the crucial point for making people recycle is not limited with impact of laws, it starts with increasing citizens and companies conscious about the topic. To exemplify, for decreasing plastic waste some companies are making their own precautions and using their own initiatives such as Starbucks or other little coffeeshops. Starbucks’ initiative about making people recycle more is turning to use paper straws rather than plastic straws.This is because paper is an easily decomposable product compared to plastics thus, it can easily be recycled.Another initiative of Starbucks’ is providing a 15% discount to people who bring their own termos so, both companies’ and that individuals’ waste amount is decreased to an extent.Furthermore, some local coffee shops are giving their products in reusable bottles while explaining the importance of continuability .As a result, they are also supporting development of conscious level of people in that topic. Consequently, people might behave more conscious in the issue of recycling. To conclude, we can accept that laws are limited in the extent of making people recycle fully. Therefore, we can use environmental enforces like using places to provide people with knowledge about the subject such as coffee shops. Furthermore, the impact of laws is effective on the extent people followed and applied them. If only these laws regarding recycling was formed in a society where laws are followed and applied we can say that a legislation aiming increase recycle can be successful -in 100%-fully-.

Evidently, problems related to environmental degradation are rising day-by-day. Some people argue that by compromising luxurious living style, we can solve this problem easily. However, I believe that less usage of technology and by being more responsible towards our surrounding, human race can tackle this issue effectively.

To begin with, one of the most effective steps can be taken by making some changes in people’s daily life activities. Unknowingly, many of us get indulged in those actions, which can be hazardous for our environment. For instance, using plastic materials, although we are all aware that plastic bags are harmful for the environment, people still use plastic bags. In addition, running some campaigns and spreading the information about harmful effects of using plastic bottles and bags can save earth. Furthermore, scarcity of drinking water is the major rising problem these days. Though humans are blessed with abundance of water, depletion of water is increasing in many parts of the world. By making some changes in our habits, water related problem can be solved. I E LT S X PRESS

Furthermore, the advent of technology is adversely affecting our environment. Demand for the production is rising at alarming level. However, limited use of technology and promoting more usage of natural resources such as solar, water and tidal energy can solve this problem.

To conclude, we could get the chance to lead this present lifestyle after struggling for many years. I believe that by considering some above mentioned steps we can save our earth for descendants without hampering our present life.

IELTS Essay on Environment Problems – Sample Answer 2

It is argued that the most practical solution for solving the environmental issues would be sacrificing the comfort of present generation for the future generation. There is some truth in this; however, I feel that the target can be better met if we use the resources wisely.

To begin with, when the present generation accepts a less comfortable life, they are not only saving the resources for their future generations but also reducing the intensity of polluting the environment in various ways. To be precise, if a person starts going to work on public transport system rather than in his own car, he can save fuel, and at the same time, the air and noise pollution can be brought down. A similar effect can be seen when people control their consumerist behaviour.

However, one has to understand that cutting down the comforts of the present world is like living a life of previous generations. To explain it further, in this technologically advanced era, it is difficult for a person to sacrifice his comfort and convenience. As a better solution, I would suggest to use the resources in the most productive manner. For example, Eco-friendly cars can be used instead of petrol cars. Likewise, non-biodegradable products like plastic can be either reused or recycled properly rather than using it just once and throwing irrationally.

To conclude, in order to solve the environmental problems, it is a good idea to save resources for the future generations by sacrificing the comforts of the present generation. However, it is better to go for the best option: the wise use of resources.

IELTS Writing Task 2 – Environment Topic

The modern lifestyle presents to humans unprecedented convenience. There is an idea, however, that such convenience comes at the expense of the environment and our own descendants’ benefits, and that therefore, it should be reduced or abandoned. Personally, I agree with this idea and this essay will clarify my view.

Firstly, a large proportion of the daily convenience today’s generation enjoys has detrimental impacts on the environment, and is easily replaceable. Taking for instance the use of air transport, it can be clearly seen that one airplane trip releases tons of carbon dioxide, many times more than a road journey over the same distance does. In many cases, the convenience of air travel prevails the interests of the environment, and travellers opt for an airplane trip instead of a 2-hour drive. The use of air-conditioning showcases a similar pattern: oftentimes the much more energy consuming air conditioners are chosen instead of fans that would be just as efficient in an acceptable temperature. These examples prove that in several circumstances, negative impacts to the environment can be avoided if only humans opt for a slightly less convenient way of living. IELTSXPRESS.COM

Secondly, the sacrifice of modern convenience may lead to the reduction of industrial pollution, which is a major culprit to environmental problems. Industries whose products serve the modern life of humans, namely the energy industry, produce huge amounts of polluting gases and waste material everyday, and consume a large proportion of natural resources. These industries thrive on the demand of extravagant convenience of humans. Therefore, should such demand be reduced, then there is a high chance that harmful impacts of these industries on the environment will be minimized.

In conclusion, the modern lifestyle encompasses several types of unnecessary convenience. Therefore, the interests of the environment and future generations could be served with changes in people’s daily habits. Such changes, as a result, will also lead to the reduction of industrial impacts on the environment.

In the present millennium, the world is highly affected by numerous environmental issues such as global warming and pollution. It is believed by many that this problem could be solved by the current generation if they sacrifice their sophisticated lifestyle for the betterment of the future of mankind. I completely agree with this notion, as limited access to cutting-edge technology and adapting to Eco-friendly products would benefit the later generations. ie  lt sxpress

To begin with, curtailing the use of modern gadgets can reduce the concern related to the environment to a greater extent. In other words, contemporary appliances and vehicles such as refrigerators or cars respectively produce hazardous gases such as Freon or carbon monoxide, which when released into the air contribute not only to air pollution but also to global warming and ozone layer depletion. As a result, a reduction in the usage of such equipment and adopting different alternatives would refrain from this sort of contamination immensely.

For example, the Norway government is using huge tax incentives to ensure that every new car sold is a zero-emission vehicle. This can also be seen in the sales of Tesla electric cars which had record-breaking sales in the country in the year 2019.

In addition to the above arguments, getting accustomed to ecological friendly products could also mitigate the problems of the atmosphere vastly. To be precise, products especially plastics and polythene are indeed an extreme threat to the flora and fauna as such non-biodegradable things could destroy the soil and water.

To eliminate such adulteration for the benefit of the upcoming human-beings, usage of decomposable substances should be bought to practice. For instance, the ‘Going Green’ project is developed by the European government to produce organic plastics and other products.

In recent times, our planet has been plagued by numerous environmental issues, such as rampant pollution and global warming. Some believe that the best way to remedy this is for the current generation to sacrifice their comfortable life for future generations’ advantage. Recent government policies and actions have made it easy for the current generation to make lifestyle changes that would benefit the environment at no significant burden to them. For example, many governments have improved the mass transportation options available, and kept the rates low. People today can opt to reduce their carbon footprint and reduce environmental pollution by not using cars to travel, and relying instead on public transport such as trains and buses. In fact, this change in lifestyle may be beneficial as people would incur less costs from not having to maintain their individual cars, save time from not having to battle traffic jams as well as making a significant positive impact to the environment.

In addition, progress in technology and products available also make it easy for the present generation to save the environment at no significant cost to them. For example, new biodegradable plastics have recently been invented to replace old plastics that pollute the environment and have been adopted by manufacturers of single use plastic bags at no additional cost. The end product of these new materials functions in exactly the same fashion as the older items. As such, the present consumer would not be disadvantaged by the change made whilst still managing to contribute to protecting the environment.

In conclusion, whilst I believe that the present generation needs to make lifestyle changes to reduce environmental issues, I strongly disagree that these changes will be a burden to the present generation. This is because governmental policies and actions, as well as technological advances will ensure that the lifestyle changes are adopted seamlessly and easily by the present generation.

Solving the Environmental Problems IELTS Essay – Sample Answer 5

The term “prosperous standard of living” is overused in almost all corners of the planet Earth. As long as humanity remains accessible, more opportunities must be left for future generations, as minimizing global problems requires effort. This essay suggests that it would be great if the current population kept a balance in terms of demand and unwise use of natural resources due to expected problems in the short and long term.

As a result of globalization, the pace of the modern age has gained a significant following, while without one part of it, the status of popularity will decline. In other words, people demand every single object, while the cost of need compulsively harms nature. For instance, electronic devices – no one can imagine their life without them – are produced by processing natural resources in combination, such as metals and glass. When devices such as mobile phones or laptops are ready for use, the air will be poisoned, and the loss of trees with irretrievable natural sources will remain under eradication. In case the current generation consumes in this way, future generations will suffer from a toxic atmosphere and a lack of sources.

An uneconomical approach to food causes the fact that once the chain has made a natural collapse, the previous state will never return. The proof is at the heart of the story that our ancestors preyed on a variety of animals that cause deadly diseases such as starvation or the extinction of other species that cause malaria or plague for extravagant needs like clothing and food. However, if today’s generation becomes wiser than expected, those who come tomorrow will prosper with a hassle-free luxurious life.

To conclude, what we have got here, maximal call for contemporary items and unwisely utilization of natural resources is believed to be the drawback when it comes to life and environment regarding present and future generations. It would be very important if peoples applied alternative methods in the field of production and taught the population to save the need for unimportant consumption in order to preserve the environment of both generations.

This is an IELTS Writing Task 2 Sample Answer from IELTS Cambridge 14 about environmental problems effecting plants and animals and it is an interesting question. You can read about another question from Cambridge 14 on the topic of changing your life here .

Here is the question:.

Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

I think this question is really tricky. The topic itself is simple: environmental problems.

Some ielts questions have tough topics – like space tourism – but this one is easy enough for most people to write about., the tricky part is related to the question itself. it is not asking you to just write about environmental problems., you must have a clear reason why losing animals and plants is the most important problem., and then a different reason , not related to plants or animals, that a different problem is more important, it’s tough so read below on how i handled this tentacled question…, once you’re done with that, check out the other  ielts task 2 writing sample answers wildlife is the most serious threat to the environment., 1. the first sentence states the topic – write this sentence very quickly because it’s not that important., 2. next is my opinion, be sure that this is clear and include it in both your introduction and conclusion., 1.  the rise in recent catastrophic natural disasters has been strongly linked to climate change. 2. many scientists have made the case that incremental rises in temperature, specifically involving the oceans, has increased the frequency and potency of hurricanes, tsunamis, and blizzards. 3. there are countless instances of these from the last two decades but the tsunami affecting mainly indonesia, malaysia and thailand in 2004 is a particularly striking example. 4. this was the largest natural disaster this century and resulted in thousands of deaths, injuries and billions of dollars in damages, the effects of which set these developing nations back economically for years. 5. people lost their lives, homes, and livelihood in many cases., 1. the first sentence is a topic sentence with the main idea for the whole paragraph – natural disasters are important and linked to climate change., 2. my second sentence provides specific evidence of this and support from researchers. try not to use research that it is too specific (like a 1992 study by the university of michigan showed…) because it is obviously made up. that technically shouldn’t hurt your score but some examiners may take exception., 3. the third sentence focuses on a specific example of a tsunami in southeast asia., 4. the fourth sentence develops the example by talking about the implications of the tsunami. this question is all about how important the environmental problem is so be sure to focus on the effects to show the importance, 5. the fifth sentence continues with the effects of the disasters., 1.  the main reason that many people including myself are so focused on plant and animal life is because of the rising number of endangered animals in recent decades. 2. one of the most well-known examples of this is the often cited case of polar bears. 3. polar bears live mainly in the arctic and recent melting of the polar ice caps has resulted in reduced ice for polar bears to hunt on. 4. polar bears have become an endangered species and it is often forecast that by 2100 they will be entirely extinct in the wild. 5. their extinction will likely have a domino effect on the fragile ecosystems of the arctic and other endangered animals like seals and narwhales. 6. this is just one example of the impact of global warming on animals and plants of our planet. 7. extinction is irreversible and there is no more lasting impression we can leave than to deplete the world entirely of a species., 1. the first sentence is another topic sentence stating why i think the less of plants and animals is more important – because animals may go extinct., 2. my second sentence starts my example. try to get to your examples as fast as possible – they are like life-preservers tossed to the struggling ielts student in the water, 3. the third sentence focuses more closely on the example., 4.  my fourth sentence focuses more closely on the example, 5. the fifth sentence continues the example by describing the effect on the entire arctic ecosystem., 6. the sixth sentence makes the example more general by extending it to other animal species around the world., 7. the final sentence gives more support for my opinion that animal extinction is the most important problem., 1. in my opinion, the loss of ecological diversity trumps any other environmental concerns. 2. in order to remedy this problem governments and individuals need to take serious steps to not only invest more in conservation efforts for endangered animals but also work towards long term reforms related to fossil fuels, carbon emissions and the other apparent catalysts for climate change., 1. my first sentence restates my overall opinion and the main reason for it., 2. the last sentence gives some suggestions about what people can do to combat this problem. be sure to have an extra detail in your final sentence because many examiners require it for band 7+ for task achievement., sample answer vocabulary, try to figure out what the vocabulary in bold means from the context of the whole sentence. don’t worry if you are not 100% sure – over time you will become more sure of the meaning (don’t use a dictionary in your native language because you will most likely learn the wrong word)., many are of the opinion that the risks for endangered plants and wildlife are the most severe consequences of our worsening environment while others would argue that other problems are more pressing . while i consider the impact of Various persons agree to the fact that loss of specific varieties of plant as well as animals are the major complications in our present day ecosystem and surroundings, some believe that there are more pressing environmental issues that abound. In my opinion oil spillage and illegal cutting down of trees have caused more harm to our surroundings than the afore mentioned

Many are of the opinion that the main cause for environmental problems of our time is due to the loss of specific species of plants and animals whereas some are of the opinion that there are more severe environmental problems. I partially agree that both of them might be the reason for this issue.This essay will discuss the reasons below.

On the one hand , it is due to global warming which is causing an imbalance in nature . As we know, we follow an ecosystem where plants , animals and humans are inter-connected in order to survive so that the oxygen and carbon-di-oxide is balanced out but due to irregularity in nature such as deforestration , pollution etc is causing harm in order for plants and animals to survive.Loss of specific species for example , Polar Bears which are mainly found in the Arctic is one of the endangered species as the Arctic caps are seen to be melting and it is said that by 2030 , polar bears will become extinct.This is a detrimental sight for the near future to come.

On another hand , it is the change in climate which is caused by natural calamities. Many scientists have claimed that the natural calamities mostly relating to oceans and seas like hurricanes , tsunami , cyclones are causing climate change in the environment . And extreme conditions like scrotching heat being responsible for famine and drought. For example, A few years ago India faced extreme conditions of cyclones roughly for 2 months which caused floods and right after came the summer and faced a severe situation of drought in the northern parts of India. Many farmers faced a huge loss in their yields of crops due to this irregular change in the climate.

In conclusion , in my opinion it is not just about losing plants and animals but the factors like climate change and how humans are getting affected by it as well. Even though humans are slightly responsible for this cause we still have time to resolve it by protecting the planet by saving environment.

There is an argument about whether the reduction of species is the biggest environmental problem or not. In my opinion, the protection of species is the most serious one, because it may lead to a calamity. Furthermore, we have the clear solution that we can make our effort in this moment. Creatures ensure that the ecosystem works in a perfect situation. The relationship between animals and plants has been built since life appeared on earth. The best example has been presented in the famous cartoon movie The Lion King. As the lion said, grass is eaten by small animals which are eaten by lions. Small animals and lions die in the end, and become fertilizer feeding grass. It is clear that all of life is involved in this simple ecosystem. The missing of one part could lead to the destruction of other parts. Our excllent world is formed by bioligical diversity, and we can not let it go. Moreover, we have a conspicuous idea for dealing with this problem, which is to protect the habitat and stop hunting. Building a shell for creatures can protect all parts of the ecosystem. As long as the ecosystem is complete, animals and plants will make the ecosystem intensive. However, hunting beasts or cutting down precious trees destroys a part of an ecosystem, which results in damage to the whole habitat at last. Let us take the movie “The Lion King” as an example again. The reducing number of lions contributes to the increasing number of small animals which eat all of the grass, and they will become extinct in the end because of lack of grass. In sum, protecting species is the most important project to protect the earth, because we all live in a huge ecosystem. We also have a solution that we can undertake right now. What’s more, the earth is protected by all of the creatures, and the mission of humans is to protect them.

The government should reduce the amount of money spent on local environmental problems and instead increase funding into urgent and more threatening issues such as global warming. To what extent do you agree?

With increasing populations and ever growing urban centers, many countries are losing their natural beauty spots. What benefits are there to protecting places of natural beauty? How can this be solved?

Although many people value their public parks, this space could be better used for other purposes such as residential areas for the ever growing population or to develop business and boost economies. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this?

What it means for the Supreme Court to throw out Chevron decision, undercutting federal regulators

WASHINGTON (AP) — Executive branch agencies will likely have more difficulty regulating the environment, public health, workplace safety and other issues under a far-reaching decision by the Supreme Court .

The court’s 6-3 ruling on Friday overturned a 1984 decision colloquially known as Chevron that has instructed lower courts to defer to federal agencies when laws passed by Congress are not crystal clear.

The 40-year-old decision has been the basis for upholding thousands of regulations by dozens of federal agencies, but has long been a target of conservatives and business groups who argue that it grants too much power to the executive branch, or what some critics call the administrative state.

The Biden administration has defended the law, warning that overturning so-called Chevron deference would be destabilizing and could bring a “convulsive shock” to the nation’s legal system.

Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for the court, said federal judges “must exercise their independent judgment in deciding whether an agency has acted within its statutory authority.”

The ruling does not call into question prior cases that relied on the Chevron doctrine, Roberts wrote.

Here is a look at the court’s decision and the implications for government regulations going forward.

What is the Chevron decision?

Atlantic herring fishermen sued over federal rules requiring them to pay for independent observers to monitor their catch. The fishermen argued that the 1976 Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act did not authorize officials to create industry-funded monitoring requirements and that the National Marine Fisheries Service failed to follow proper rulemaking procedure.

In two related cases, the fishermen asked the court to overturn the 40-year-old Chevron doctrine, which stems from a unanimous Supreme Court case involving the energy giant in a dispute over the Clean Air Act. That ruling said judges should defer to the executive branch when laws passed by Congress are ambiguous.

In that case, the court upheld an action by the Environmental Protection Agency under then-President Ronald Reagan.

In the decades following the ruling, Chevron has been a bedrock of modern administrative law, requiring judges to defer to agencies’ reasonable interpretations of congressional statutes.

But the current high court, with a 6-3 conservative majority has been increasingly skeptical of the powers of federal agencies. Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch have questioned the Chevron decision. Ironically, it was Gorsuch’s mother, former EPA Administrator Anne Gorsuch, who made the decision that the Supreme Court upheld in 1984.

What’s at stake?

With a closely divided Congress, presidential administrations have increasingly turned to federal regulation to implement policy changes. Federal rules impact virtually every aspect of everyday life, from the food we eat and the cars we drive to the air we breathe and homes we live in.

President Joe Biden’s administration, for example, has issued a host of new regulations on the environment and other priorities, including restrictions on emissions from power plants and vehicle tailpipes , and rules on student loan forgiveness , overtime pay and affordable housing.

Those actions and others could be opened up to legal challenges if judges are allowed to discount or disregard the expertise of the executive-branch agencies that put them into place.

With billions of dollars potentially at stake, groups representing the gun industry and other businesses such as tobacco, agriculture, timber and homebuilding, were among those pressing the justices to overturn the Chevron doctrine and weaken government regulation.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce filed an amicus brief last year on behalf of business groups arguing that modern application of Chevron has “fostered aggrandizement’’ of the executive branch at the expense of Congress and the courts.

David Doniger, a lawyer and longtime Natural Resources Defense Council official who argued the original Chevron case in 1984, said he feared that a ruling to overturn the doctrine could “free judges to be radical activists” who could “effectively rewrite our laws and block the protections they are supposed to provide.”

“The net effect will be to weaken our government’s ability to meet the real problems the world is throwing at us — big things like COVID and climate change,″ Doniger said.

More than just fish

“This case was never just about fish,’' said Meredith Moore of the environmental group Ocean Conservancy. Instead, businesses and other interest groups used the herring fishery “to attack the foundations of the public agencies that serve the American public and conserve our natural resources,’' she said.

The court ruling will likely open the floodgates to litigation that could erode critical protections for people and the environment, Moore and other advocates said.

“For more than 30 years, fishery observers have successfully helped ensure that our oceans are responsibly managed so that fishing can continue in the future,’' said Dustin Cranor of Oceana, another conservation group.

He called the case “just the latest example of the far right trying to undermine the federal government’s ability to protect our oceans, waters, public lands, clean air and health.’'

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey called the decision a fitting follow-up to a 2022 decision — in a case he brought — that limits the EPA’s ability to control greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. The court held that Congress must speak with specificity when it wants to give an agency authority to regulate on an issue of major national significance.

Morrisey, now the GOP nominee for governor, called Chevron “a misguided doctrine under which courts defer to legally dubious interpretations of statutes put out by federal administrative agencies.”

A shift toward judicial power

The Supreme Court ruling will almost certainly shift power away from the executive branch and Congress and toward courts, said Craig Green, a professor at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.

“Federal judges will now have the first and final word about what statutes mean,″ he said. “That’s a big shift in power.″

In what some observers see as a historic irony, many conservatives who now attack Chevron once celebrated it. The late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was among those who hailed the original ruling as a way to rein in liberal laws.

“Conservatives believed in this rule until they didn’t,’' Green said in an interview.

In recent years, conservatives have focused on “deconstruction of the administrative state,’' even if the result lessens the ability of a conservative president to impose his beliefs on government agencies.

“If you weaken the federal government, you get less government,’' Green said — an outcome that many conservatives, including those who back former President Donald Trump, welcome.

The ruling will likely “gum up the works for federal agencies and make it even harder for them to address big problems. Which is precisely what the critics of Chevron want,” said Jody Freeman, director of the environmental and energy law program at Harvard Law School.
