Word Unscrambler is a useful tool that facilitates and speeds up the process of playing Scrabble , Words with Friends and other word games. It helps to generate the maximum number of real words from any letter combinations that you get.

How and when did the words with friends and scrabble games appear.

Words with Friends game was released in 2009 by Newtoy. Already in 2010, Words with Friends became the leader of downloads in the iOS App Store. In 2017, the game earned the title of the most popular mobile game in the USA.

Such popularity caused a public request for a physical version of the game – a classic board game. In 2012, Zynga, in collaboration with Hasbro, released the Words with Friends board game, which now can be found with the “Hasbro Gaming” logo.

Scrabble history began in the thirties of the XX century in the USA. During the Great Depression, architect Alfred Mosher Butts was accidentally out of work and decided to create his own board game.

After analyzing the games that existed at that time, Butts chose to create a board game that requires both ingenuity and luck and uses elements of anagrams and crosswords popular in those years.

The first two modifications of the game were not accepted by publishers and Batts tried to distribute them himself, but he barely recouped the costs. In the end, the rights to the game were bought from him by entrepreneur and game lover James Bruno. It was he who simplified the game and gave it the name Scrabble. Since the 50s, the board game has become record-breaking popular and since then its success has been unchanged.

What is the use of the Words Unscrambler service?

Title: letter frequency vs factor frequency in pure morphic words.

Abstract: We prove that, for any pure morphic word $w$, if the frequencies of all letters in $w$ exist, then the frequencies of all factors in $w$ exist as well. This result answers a question of Saari in his doctoral thesis.

How to solve today's Wordle.

Looking for Saturday’s Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here:

June is a pretty awesome month for a handful of reasons. First and foremost, it’s my birthday month—clearly that alone makes it the best month of the year! Also, my daughter and first-born child was born in June. My uncle and my Nana were both June babies also. Geminis, the lot of us. And you know what they say about Geminis, we’re twice as fun!

Second, June is Pride month. That means we get to celebrate equality and acceptance and go to some fun parties and drag shows.

Finally, June is the start of summer and other than the threat of wildfires, summer is a pretty rad time. I’m pretty sure there are many other reasons why June is the best, but for now we’ll leave it at that.

It’s the weekend so be sure to check out my weekend streaming guide. Lots of good stuff out right now.

Let’s Wordle!

How To Solve Today’s Wordle

The Hint: Good job!

The Clue: This Wordle ends with a surprising vowel.

Okay, spoilers below!

The Answer:

Today's Wordle

Wordle Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here .

I picked PLANE as my opening guess because a friend of mine was just regaling us with their travel nightmares and just how crappy the airlines have gotten in recent years. This is one reason I never go anywhere!

With one green box, I decided to guess all new letters for my second try. HOIST slashed the remaining words down to just three, and gave me a yellow ‘O’. I could think of two: BRAVO and OVARY. Later, Wordle Bot would inform me that AMARO was also an option. The herbal Italian liqueur is not something in my usual lexicon. In any case, I felt like guessing OVARY and the answer being BRAVO was worse than the other way around so I guessed BRAVO. And bravo to me, that was the Wordle!

Competitive Wordle Score

I get 1 point for guessing in three and 1 point for beating the Bot who took four tries today. 2 points! I am the champion!

How To Play Competitive Wordle

Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.

If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word "bravo" has its origins in Italian, where it means "brave" or "bold." It was derived from the Latin word "bravus," which is a variant of "pravus," meaning "crooked" or "wicked." Over time, the meaning evolved to signify courage and boldness rather than a negative connotation. In English, "bravo" is often used to express approval or admiration, especially in response to a performance, akin to saying "well done" or "excellent."

Mass. teacher on leave after using ‘n-word’ in class and forcing minority kids to stage mock slave auction.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

A Boston-area fifth-grade teacher who held a mock slave auction, used the “N-word” in class — and then called out the student who reported them for using the slur — has been placed on paid leave, school officials said.

The unnamed teacher at Margaret A. Neary Elementary School in Southborough, about 30 miles west of Boston, made examples of two children of color during an impromptu “auction” during a January history lesson on the economy of the Southern colonies.

“The educator asked two children sitting in front of the room, who were of color, to stand, and the educator and class discussed physical attributes (i.e., teeth and strength),” Superintendent Gregory L. Martineau wrote in a letter to parents.

The school’s student body is 68% white and less than 1.5% black, according to state data.

In his letter, Martineau said holding a mock slave auction was “unacceptable,” trivializes the experiences of victims, and is disproportionately traumatizing for students of color.

During a second incident in April, the same teacher was reading aloud from a book and used the “N-word,” which did not appear in the book.

“Dehumanizing words such as slurs should not be spoken by employees or students. Using such words can harm students and negatively impact an open discussion on a particular topic,” Martineau wrote.

Parents of students in the class later met with the teacher and the principal to discuss what had happened.

But the next day, “the educator inappropriately called out the student who had reported the educator’s use of the racial slur, which is not acceptable,” Martineau said.

The district then launched a formal investigation and placed the teacher on leave.

The principal, Kathleen Valenti, was also placed on paid leave for 10 days this month, the Superintendent added.

“I apologize for the events that took place in The Public Schools of Southborough,” Martineau wrote. “I acknowledge that there were missteps in this process that further complicated the situation.”

Martineau pledged to “improve our cultural competency” through a series of steps, including staff training, strengthened internal reporting policies and working directly with the families of affected students.

The incident was the second time this year a mock slave auction has been connected to a Massachusetts school.

In the nearby town of Southwick, investigators in March said they were pursuing criminal charges against six teens for their alleged role in racist bullying that included threats, hateful and racist comments and a mock slave auction that unfolded on Snapchat.

A similar mock slave auction held at a tony Westchester private school in 2019 led to the firing of a teacher and a revamp in racial reforms .

What does LGBTQ stand for? Breaking down the meaning of each letter in the acronym.

words from letters thesis

Pride Month is about more than parades and “rainbow capitalism.” It’s also a month for allies to educate themselves on the issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community .

At a minimum, it's important to understand the identities within the community. Each identity is different and experiences different marginalization because of their gender identity or sexuality

The LGBTQ acronym has gone through many makeovers in recent decades and holds important meaning that most are unaware of. For example, the reason the “L” comes first is an homage to lesbian health care workers who assisted gay men in the early days of the HIV/AIDS outbreak when many medical professionals refused to even be in the same room as patients with the disease.

What does LGBTQ stand for?

LGBTQ is an acronym that describes various identities in the queer community. It stands for “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer.”

Some letters refer to sexual orientation while others signify gender identity. The “+” symbol is often added to recognize other , diverse sexualities and gender identities within the community, like nonbinary, asexual , intersex , genderqueer and more.

Here’s what each letter in the acronym means:

The “L” in LGBTQ

The “L” in LGBTQ stands for lesbian, or a woman who is attracted to other women. Some nonbinary people, whose gender identities are outside of the gender binary, may also identify with this term.

Read more here about the word’s origins and how the colors of the lesbian flag reflect this community.

The “G” in LGBTQ

The “G” is for gay, or any person who is attracted to members of the same gender . This doesn’t have to fit exclusively within the gender binary either – men, women, nonbinary people and other gender non-conforming individuals can identify as gay.

The “B” in LGBTQ

Someone who is bisexual is attracted to more than one gender, but the term is often used to describe a wide spectrum of identities. Often, the community refers to the duality in “bi” as attraction to genders similar to and different from their own.

Read more to discover where this term comes from and the difference between bisexuality and pansexuality.

The “T” in LGBTQ

While the first three letters refer to sexual orientation, the “T” in LGBTQ is about gender identity – it stands for transgender. Someone who is transgender has a gender identity different from the sex they were assigned at birth. They may undergo a transition process to align better with their gender expression and identity, or they may not. There is no one way to be transgender.

Read more to understand the issues impacting the trans community.

The “Q” in LGBTQ

" Queer" is an adjective used by those who are not exclusively heterosexual. It can also stand for questioning.

The word is often used as a self-identifier for those who don't feel their sexuality fits into other terms like lesbian, gay or bisexual. Someone who is queer may feel the other terms are “too limiting” or don’t apply exclusively to their experiences.

For more than a century, the term was used against the LGBTQ community as a slur. Here, we dive further into how and why the queer community reclaimed this word.

What does LGBTQIA+ stand for?

LGBTQIA+ is an updated acronym that many use because it is more inclusive of gender identities and sexual orientations not represented in the first five letters. The “I” in LGBTQIA+ refers to intersex and the “A” stands for asexual.

"Intersex" is an umbrella term for variations in reproductive or sex anatomy in someone’s chromosomes, genitals, testes or ovaries. Read more about what the intersex community wishes you knew here .

"Asexuality" is also an umbrella term. It describes a spectrum of those who may have little to no interest in sex, although they may desire emotionally intimate relationships. Other identities on the asexuality spectrum include demisexual, gray ace or queerplatonic. Here’s what those mean .

The + can include a variety of other identities that are outside of heterosexual- and cisgender-dominant society like pansexual , demisexual , genderfluid and others. Some prefer the acronym 2SLGBTQIA+, which emphasizes Two-Spirit Indigenous identities.

It's important to remember that identities within the LGBTQ community are entirely personal. Everyone has a different relationship with labeling. Some may even choose not to. The best practice is to ask someone how they identify and respect it.
