Present the original title (photocopies or titles that have been modified, such as crossing out a name, cannot be accepted) with:

  • Your signature – All titled owners must sign when the title is transferred. Owners who can’t visit an office to sign the title may appoint an agent to sign on their behalf by completing an Appointment of Agent form.
  • Seller’s signature – The seller must complete and sign the seller’s portion of the title if they don’t plan to visit a Secretary of State office with you.
  • Odometer disclosure statement – Ensure the odometer reading is accurately recorded on the title. If space is not provided on the title, complete and submit an Odometer Mileage Statement.
  • Statement from loan provider – If there was a loan against the vehicle, provide the lien termination statement or signed title from the financial institution that administered the loan. If there is an active loan on the title, a letter of authorization from the lienholder must be submitted with the title application.
  • You also will need to bring your Michigan driver’s license or ID.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Most dealerships will handle the title transfer and vehicle registration process for you.

Yes but only if you drive the vehicle directly to the first place of storage (usually your home) within three days of the sale. You must have the properly assigned title and proof of insurance with you as temporary registration. At the time of the sale, remove the seller’s plate from the vehicle and return it to them.

Anyone whose name will be listed as an owner on the title must be present. It is advised that the seller also accompany the buyer to transfer the title. Those who cannot visit a Secretary of State office to transfer the vehicle title may appoint a designated agent or power of attorney to attend the office visit and sign the title on their behalf.

Title transfer and registration fees are set by state law and cannot be amended without legislative action.

You need to transfer the title within 15 days of purchasing the vehicle. A $15 late fee is charged if you don’t transfer the title in time.

If possible, the seller should join you at a Secretary of State office to complete the title transfer. Dealerships typically manage title transfers for vehicles purchased through the dealership.

Under Michigan law, title transfers between the following relatives aren’t subject to sales tax:

  • Parent (or stepparent or mother/father-in-law)
  • Child (or stepchild or daughter/son-in-law)
  • Sibling (or stepsibling, half-sibling, or sister/brother-in-law)
  • Grandparent
  • Grandchild (or grandchild-in-law)
  • Legally appointed guardian

No other relationships are tax exempt.

If the deceased owner's estate isn’t probated, the surviving spouse or legal next-of-kin may transfer the vehicle into their name by presenting the following at a Secretary of State office:

  • The original vehicle title
  • A certified copy of the death certificate
  • Certification from the Heir to a Vehicle form (TR-29) completed by the next-of-kin
  • License or ID for the next-of-kin
  • Proof of Michigan No-Fault insurance, if the vehicle will be registered

If the estate is being probated, the personal representative appointed by Probate Court must assign the title to the surviving spouse. The spouse presents the assigned title and a copy of the personal representative's Letter of Authority document to apply for a title in their name at a Secretary of State office.

If the current title is in both your name and the deceased's name with the legend "Full Rights To Survivor" printed on it, then all that is needed to transfer the vehicle into just your name is the title and a copy of the death certificate.

Certification from the Heir to a Vehicle form (TR-29)

A title with a lien on it may be transferred only if the loan is paid off and a statement or letter of termination is provided by the lienholder, or if a letter of authorization from the lienholder approving the transfer is submitted with the title application.

Yes. A person who cannot prove they sold their vehicle as required by Section 257.240 is responsible for a civil infraction and subject to a civil fine of $15. The person is also presumed to be the last titled owner and is liable for towing fees and daily storage fees if the vehicle is abandoned.

How To Get A Title For A New Vehicle

Typically, if you purchase a vehicle from a New Jersey dealer, it will be titled as part of the sales process. If you did not receive a title from a dealer, you must title your vehicle within ten days of purchase or face a penalty fee. When purchasing a new vehicle from an out of state dealer, verify the New Jersey titling process with the dealership.

  • Titles may be acquired at a MVC Vehicle Center . The vehicle owner must appear in person.  Schedule an appointment prior to your visit.
  • You must show the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO) displaying the sales tax-satisfied stamp. You need to pay sales tax on the actual vehicle price.
  • If you purchase a vehicle in New Jersey, you must pay sales tax and complete the sales tax section stamped on the title.
  • New Jersey dealers are required to collect sales tax for New Jersey residents. Sales tax is not collected at the agency for New Jersey dealers.
  • However, if you did not pay sales tax at the time of purchase, you will need to pay the sales tax based on the actual amount paid for the vehicle.  Sales tax may be paid at a motor vehicle agency .
  • Certain vehicles are exempt from sales tax .
  • If the vehicle was purchased from an out-of-state dealer and the dealer is not authorized to collect New Jersey sales tax, sales tax will be due upon titling the vehicle.
  • If the vehicle is financed, you must provide the address and Entity Identification Number (EIN – formerly Corpcode) of the lien holder. The original title will be sent to the lien holder.
  • 2009 model year and later passenger vehicles or light duty trucks weighing less than 8,500 lbs. are required to meet California Low Emission Vehicle Program standards.
  • New vehicles may be subject to New Jersey’s Luxury and Fuel Inefficient Surcharge (LFIS). If the vehicle qualifies for the Surcharge, you must calculate an additional 0.4% of the gross sales/lease price.
  • For your convenience, the MVC accepts American Express® card, MasterCard®, Visa® card, Discover card®, checks, money orders and cash.

FAQ Categories / Tax: Title Applications

ALDOR’s titling system, ALVIN, features a VIN decoder that populates this information.

However, there will be occasion where it will not be pre-populated. Sometimes it will populate the information after a vehicle trim is selected.

It is recommended to look up the vehicle year, make, model, and specifications in a Google-type search to see if you are able to find the unladen weight or GVWR.

Another alternative is the NHTSA VIN decoder ( https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/ ). It will sometimes provide this information for vehicles.

If all else fails and you still can’t determine the unladen weight, then you can enter the same amount as was entered or pre-populated for the GVWR.

If there is joint-ownership and the names are joined by “or,” only one owner is required to sign the title application.

If there is joint-ownership and the names are joined by “and,” then both owners are required to sign the title application.

The name of the owner(s) to be shown on the application for certificate of title must be the current legal name of the owner(s) of the motor vehicle, manufactured home, or vessel for which a certificate of title is requested. Owner name(s) on the title application must agree with the name on supporting documents. The seller information listed on the title application must agree with supporting documents.

In lieu of handprinted names and signatures, an electronic signature is acceptable when authorized by the department.

See Administrative Rule: 810-5-75-.40 Requirements for Names and Signatures on Title Applications, Title Assignments, and Motor Vehicle Registrations, for more details.

An applicant for Alabama certificate of title must surrender the following documents to the designated agent in order to complete an application for Alabama certificate of title:

  • the outstanding manufacturer's certificate of origin or certificate of title that is either in the applicant's name or assigned to the applicant and any documents which support the transfer of the vehicle to the applicant;
  • if the vehicle is currently registered in a jurisdiction which does not title such vehicles, the applicant must surrender the outstanding registration documents which substantiate ownership of the vehicle.

Additional documentation may be required if it cannot be determined whether the vehicle meets federal and state safety, emissions and anti-theft standards.

The title application fee is $15 for each application for Alabama certificate of title for a motor vehicle.

The title application fee is $20 for each application for Alabama certificate of title for a manufactured home.

Designated agents shall add the sum of $1.50 as the commission for each application processed.

License Plate Issuing Officials may also collect an additional $1.50 commission for each application processed to defray the cost of processing and mailing title applications. Certain counties may also have local fees which are due when an application for title is processed by that License Plate Issuing Official. Please contact the County License Plate Issuing Official to determine if any local fees apply.

The titled owner(s) or recorded lienholder can apply for a replacement title online by using the Public Title Portal. Once the title application is complete, it can be electronically uploaded and submitted for payment. The application fee is $15 and is non-refundable. The electronic application must be submitted to ALDOR for processing and review.

In addition, an application for replacement title can be processed by any designated agent.

If transfer involves a deceased owner and owner’s estate has been or will be probated , then the individual signing on behalf of deceased owner’s estate must provide copy of letters testamentary or letters of administration issued by the probate court.

If transfer involves a deceased owner and owner’s estate has not and will not be probated , then the individual signing on behalf of deceased owner’s estate must provide a Next of Kin Affidavit (MVT 5-6) and a copy of the deceased owner’s death certificate.

See Administrative Rule: 810-5-75-.09 Transfer of Title For A Vehicle From A Deceased Owner, for more details.

To correct an error on the face of an Alabama title, the owner or lienholder of record, must make application for a new certificate of title through a designated agent. Designated agents must submit the Application for Corrected title, the current certificate of title, and a statement on letterhead that supports the corrections requested on the title application to the department for processing. An MVT 5-7, Affidavit to Correct an Assignment on a Certificate of Title, cannot be used to correct information recorded on the face of the AL title.

To correct an error in a title assignment, the MVT 5-7 Affidavit to Correct an Assignment on a Certificate of Title must be completed and submitted with the title application.

See Administrative Rule: 810-5-75-.39 Corrections to Title Documents, for more details.

No, the lienholder information is not required in the assignment of the MSO or title, but if it is provided it must agree with the title application.

Titling used vehicles

To title and register your newly purchased used vehicle, you will need to submit the following documents, (along with payment for taxes and fees ):

  • Proof of ownership - The vehicle's current title has to be properly assigned to you. If the title was issued in Maryland, it can be used as your application for titling and registering the vehicle. If the vehicle is from a state that does not issue a title as proof of ownership, a registration document and a bill of sale may be submitted as proof of ownership.

title assignment

  • Proof of purchase price - This should be a bill of sale signed by both the buyer(s) and seller(s). The bill of sale must be notarized if the following conditions apply:
  • the vehicle is less than 7 years old; and
  • the purchase price is at least $500 below the book value; and
  • the new owner (buyer) wants to base the excise tax (more info below) calculation (6% of the vehicle's value) on the sale price rather than the book value.

Dealer A vehicle purchased from a licensed dealer, is assessed excise tax. The tax is based on the agreed upon price of the vehicle and includes any dealer processing charge, with an allowance for any trade-in consideration. Manufacturer rebates are taxable. However, dealer rebates and discounts are not. All rebate, trade-in, or discount information must be clearly marked on the bill of sale.

  • Maryland Safety Inspection Certificate - The Maryland State Police form certifies that your vehicle meets Maryland safety standards. It is valid for up to 90 days from the date issued.
  • If a vehicle is being transferred between spouses or between parents and children, an inspection is not generally required. All other transfers as gifts are subject to the state inspection laws. Gifts of vehicles that are titled out-of-state are not accepted.
  • Lien release - If the existing title indicates that a lien was placed against it, you must submit a lien release. For a vehicle that was titled in Maryland, this could be a properly completed and signed Maryland Security Interest Filing or a signed letter from the lien holder specifically identifying the vehicle and stating that the lien has been released. If the vehicle is currently titled in another state, you may submit a signed letter of release from the lien holder or you may have the lien holder sign the title indicating that the lien has been released.
  • Power of attorney  ( VR-470 ) -– If someone other than you, the new owner, is signing the titling forms, this document is required.  A copy of the registered owner(s) state issued identification must accompany the Power of Attorney and the person submitting must present their state issued identification.
  • Certificate of origin - This is an ownership document produced by the vehicle's manufacturer.
  • Bill of sale
  • Title fee
  • Lien fee
  • Excise tax and tag fees .

Your title will be mailed to you. If you also register the vehicle, your registration card, license plates and expiration stickers can be provided immediately when you apply in person at the MVA; otherwise, they will also be mailed to you.

Maryland Excise Titling Tax

Dealer A vehicle purchased from a licensed dealer, is assessed excise tax. The tax is based on the agreed upon price of the vehicle and includes any dealer processing charge, with an allowance for any trade-in consideration. Manufacturer rebates are taxable. However, dealer rebates and discounts are not. All rebate, trade-in, or discount information must be clearly marked on the bill of sale.

Titling New Vehicles

Maryland dealers will usually handle the titling and registration of your vehicle for you. The dealer will provide you with a bill of sale and temporary (cardboard) or permanent (metal) license plates before you drive the vehicle off the lot. The Maryland Certificate of Title will be printed and mailed to you later. If a lien is placed against your title, a Maryland Security Interest Filing will be mailed to the lien holder at the same time.

If the dealer does not handle the titling and registration of your vehicle, perhaps because you purchased the vehicle from an out-of-state dealer, you will have to submit the application documents yourself.

To title and register your newly purchased vehicle, you will need to submit the following documents (along with payment for taxes and fees ):

Under certain circumstances, additional information and/or forms may be required:

Titling - New Maryland Resident

Please view the New to Maryland Titling and Registering page for more information.

If the last names do not agree, please submit proof of the relationship:

Security Interest Lien

If the vehicle is subject to a security interest lien, a recording fee will apply. A notice of security interest filing is mailed to the lending institution or person and the title is mailed to the owner. After the lien is satisfied, the security interest document must be mailed to the owner and kept with the title. Both documents are required to sell or trade the vehicle.

If there is a lien against your out-of-state title:

Federal regulations require that the vehicle's odometer mileage be stated by the seller when ownership of the vehicle is transferred. An inaccurate statement may make the seller liable for damages to the buyer or to the transferee. For more information click here .

Title Fees

There is a title fee for all vehicles.

Certificate of inspection

A safety inspection is required for all used cars, trucks, tractors, trailers, motorcycles, special equipment, and class "B" for hire vehicles being titled and registered in Maryland. They must be inspected by a licensed Maryland inspection station, such as an automobile dealer, service station and specialized automobile service center. A certificate of inspection, issued within 90 days of the vehicle to be titled, must accompany the application for a title. Please compare the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the inspection certificate with the one on the vehicle and the vehicle ownership documents to make certain they all agree. Altered inspection certificates will not be accepted.

Obtaining or Transferring License Plates

Obtaining New License Plates

Transfer of License Plates

License plates may be transferred if the vehicle is titled:

  • In the joint names of a husband and wife and is being transferred to the name of either the husband or the wife;
  • In the name of the husband or the wife and is being transferred to the joint names of both;
  • In the joint names of a parent and a child and is transferred to the individual name of either party;
  • In the name of an individual and is transferred to the parent and/or child of the individual.

License plates acquired by any person, firm, or corporation for any vehicle owned by them may be transferred to a newly acquired vehicle, providing the following requirements are met:

If you are transferring license plates and less than 12 months remain before your registration expires, the registration will be renewed for an additional year.

Please check the MVA Insurance Compliance Information page for information on insurance requirements.

Fees for License Plates

Registration fees vary depending on the class and weight of the vehicle being registered. Please view the registration fee information page for more information.

Application for Duplicate Certificate of Title

  • Apply  online .
  • Apply at a kiosk located at all  MVA offices .
  • Duplicate title fee .

If an owner of a vehicle originally titled in Maryland obtains a title for the vehicle in another state in the same name, and returns to Maryland, it may be registered by surrendering the foreign title and securing a duplicate Maryland title . There is a fee for a duplicate title.

Issuance of a 24-Hour Registration

The MDOT MVA may issue an electronic or digital registration valid for 24 hours, to allow a purchaser of a vehicle to operate the vehicle on a highway in Maryland. Only one 24-hour registration may be issued per vehicle sales transaction.

Office trailers and mobile homes in excess of 35 feet are not subject to the inspection, titling, or registration laws of Maryland. However, they may be titled. The MVA does not collect excise tax when it issues a title. Before the vehicle can be titled, though, the state retail sales tax must be paid, a receipt obtained and submitted with the application for title and other required documents. The state's sales tax division is located in the Maryland State Office Building, 301 West Preston Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.

Boat, Camping, Tent or Travel Trailers

All trailers are subject to the same motor vehicle laws as passenger vehicles. They must be titled and if registration is desired, they must be safety inspected (if they are used vehicles).

Homemade Trailers

Homemade trailers may be titled and registered by submitting an application for title to the MVA with two photographs of the vehicle taken from the side and the rear. If the application is approved, the vehicle is assigned a vehicle identification number and a serial plate is issued. The plate must be affixed to the vehicle and it becomes the identification number used in all future transactions.

Freight & Semi Freight Trailers

Freight and semi-freight trailers are subject to the same motor vehicle laws as passenger vehicles. They must be titled and if registration is desired, they must be safety inspected (if they are used vehicles). Freight and semi-freight trailers must also provide proof of motor vehicle liability insurance in the minimum amount required by law. All other trailers are covered by the insurance of the towing vehicle. If a commercial (freight) trailer is converted to an office trailer and the owner wishes to title the vehicle, a state retail sales tax must be paid and the sales tax receipt must accompany the application for title.

Please be certain to always carry the certificate of registration in the vehicle or on the person who is operating the vehicle.

A car title is a document that proves who owns a vehicle. When you sell your car , the title must be legally transferred to the new owner so that person can complete the registration process.

Beyond indicating who owns the car, the title also includes the vehicle identification number, the mileage at the time of sale and what type of car it is.

How car title transfer works

Transferring a car title consists of three steps, one for the seller, one for the buyer and one for the state.

The seller has to release ownership of the car by signing the title.

The buyer takes the signed title to the state office that handles car titles, often called the department of motor vehicles, or DMV. Some states might require additional paperwork to complete the process, such as a bill of sale or a transfer of ownership form.

Your state DMV issues a new registration and title.

A car’s title is sometimes called the “pink slip,” though it could be any color, really. Regardless of its color, the title is always issued by your state’s department of motor vehicles.

Differences between dealer and private-party sales

When you're buying a new car , a dealer handles the paperwork and you usually receive the vehicle title from your state’s DMV in the mail. But when private parties buy or sell cars, it’s up to them to transfer the title.

States may require the seller to provide basic information about the car, such as the odometer reading and the sales price, which is used to calculate the sales tax .

Before signing the title, check with your state’s DMV to find the proper line on which to sign and how to supply the correct information.

Whose name is listed?

For the seller, the first step is to look at how your name is listed on the car’s title. If your name alone is printed on the title, this means you are the only owner and can easily transfer ownership.

If, however, there’s also a bank or lender’s name on the title (referred to as a “lienholder”), this means you have an auto loan that has to be settled before you can sell. This complicates things, but it’s still possible to sell your car. Call your lender and ask how to sell a car that has a loan and how the transaction should be handled.

In many cases, a car is owned jointly by two people, such as a husband and wife. In this case, there are two ways the vehicle title can be written. The two names might have an “and” or an “or” between them. Generally, “and” means both parties have to sign the title to release ownership; “or” means either person can sign the title.

Avoid delays

Visit your state’s DMV website before you sell your car to see what documents are required, where to sign the title and how to handle multiple owners. Find your DMV website here:

If you make a mistake, such as signing on the wrong line, or if you try to erase something from the title, it will slow the process. Either you’ll need to file a second form, stating you made a mistake, or you might have to apply for a new title from the DMV before the sale can be concluded.

Buyer’s next steps

After the title is properly signed by the seller, the buyer must register the car in the new owner's name. In some states, the application for a new title and registration is on the back of the old title. In other cases, you might have to download a transfer of ownership form from your state’s DMV website.

Usually, a temporary registration is issued as soon as the title and proper forms have been presented to the DMV. A new title, in the new owner’s name, will be mailed later.

How to Complete a Title Assignment

The information here can be used to assist buyers and sellers with the assignment by owner area on the back of the current Colorado Certificate of Title. Older versions, or titles from other states have different formats and may vary from what’s shown here. If you’re unsure of how to complete the title assignment, please contact our office for guidance. Errors made on this document can cause long delays and in some situations, a duplicate title may be required.

Back of Title

Information for each area above is represented by the corresponding numbers below:

If the vehicle has an odometer, enter the number of miles shown from the odometer in this area. Readings in kilometers should be converted to miles. Complete this box carefully. Any changes, alterations, or corrections in this box can void the document and a duplicate may be required.

Mark one selection only:

  • Actual Mileage - This is the most common selection. It’s used when the odometer is working correctly and is displaying the correct mileage.
  • Mileage in excess of mechanical limits - This is less common but was used more in the past when odometers contained only 5 digits.
  • Not Actual - Warning: Odometer Discrepancy - Select this box if the odometer does not show the actual mileage on the vehicle. This might occur if the odometer is broken or was replaced.

Each current owner/seller must print and sign their name exactly as it is shown on the front side of the title document.

Enter the date here that the vehicle was sold.

Enter the price here, in US dollars, that the vehicle was sold/purchased for. If it was a gift, it’s okay to write the word gift here.

The buyer must print and sign their name here. The name should be listed exactly as it is shown on their identification .

If there is more than one buyer, print the additional buyer names here. A signature for the additional buyers is not required.

This is the legal address of the buyer. The vehicle must be registered in the same county that the buyer lives in.  If a separate address is used to receive mail, please do not list it here. The mailing address will be provided later in the process.

Note: If you have an emergency , please call 911 . If you need to report a crime or ask a police related question, please call the Larimer County Sheriff's Office at 970-416-1985 .

Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability

Sold your vehicle? Completing a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability (NRL) lets DMV know that you are no longer responsible for parking/traffic violations or civil or criminal actions associated with the vehicle after the date of sale.

Before you begin…

You will need the new owner’s name and address.

Have the license plate number and last five digits of the vehicle identification number (VIN) handy.

Have the vehicle odometer reading as of the sale or transfer date.

Be prepared to print the confirmation you receive after submitting the NRL (if you wish to keep a copy for your own records).

Submitting an NRL to the DMV does not constitute a transfer of ownership. The vehicle record is not permanently transferred out of your name until the DMV receives a completed application for transfer of ownership and payment of appropriate fees from the new owner .

Have Questions?

If you need clarification before beginning the process, look through our NRL Frequently Asked Questions .

Maya Veliz, Texas cheerleader stripped of valedictorian title over ‘miscalculation’, had private graduation with family

T he Texas cheerleader stripped of her valedictorian title over a ‘miscalculation’ got a private graduation ceremony from her family, who shared pics of the happy occasion with The Post and as they all remain positive about her future.

In March, Maya Veliz was officially announced as north Texas’ Blue Ridge High School valedictorian. However, she was quickly stripped of the title after the school said they’d made an error involving transfer credits from another school, dropping her grade point average (GPA) to make her third in her class.

Given the situation, Veliz’s family decided to throw her a private graduation ceremony Thursday, separate to the school’s celebration, where she delivered the speech she had planned as valedictorian.

“It was great. She gave her speech,”  her father Jorge Veliz told The Post.

“An anonymous viewer of our local news [who also featured Maya’s story] paid for her first year at University of Texas.”

In her planned speech, which the family previously shared with The Post, Maya shared how “honored” she was to be named valedictorian.

“Failure has made me who I am today and to have found success and persevere regardless of the outcome,” the speech read.

“I stand here before you tonight, Honored as the valedictorian for the class of 2024,” the draft of Maya’s speech began.

Veliz’s family had received a phone call from the school’s principal, Trent Hamilton, in April about the miscalculation with the GPA and transfer credits.

Maya transferred from a school in Frisco, Texas, in 2022 when she was a junior. However, some of the classes offered at the school in Frisco weren’t at Blue Ridge High School and not weighed under the transfer policy.

“She feels sad, she feels left out. They’ve always had her be part of any kind of event at school. They had her give a speech during last year’s graduation,” Jorge told The Post at the time.

The school district did admit to the miscalculations but said it investigated the issue as a “private student matter” which was then “communicated with the parents,” and they wouldn’t change their position.

“The district reviews academic achievement, grade calculations, and class rank during this time period each year in accordance with applicable state law and board policies EIC and EIC Local,” a Blue Ridge ISD spokesperson said to WFAA.

“Miscalculations were originally made when finalizing GPA and Class Rank; then corrected to ensure compliance with both of those board policies.”

Veliz was a member of the school’s cheerleading team. She was also recognized by the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program for her academic achievements.

The school said it plans to take measures to prevent such an error from being made in the future.

“Any further specific student information cannot be discussed pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act,” the school said.

Ucla bruins featured in list of impressive ncaa championships, share this article.

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of college basketball is the UCLA Bruins’ 11 NCAA titles. But UCLA’s success goes beyond just basketball.

In a recent post by College Basketball Report on X, the Bruins are one of six teams in the nation to have won NCAA titles in basketball, football , and baseball. The Bruins join Ohio State, Stanford, Cal, Michigan, and Florida on the list.

Though no team has taken home a national title since 2013, when UCLA baseball won the College World Series, their combined thirteen titles is certainly an impressive feat . Today, the Bruins are in the midst of rebuilding all three programs into potential title-winners.

With Mick Cronin revamping the Bruins on the hardwood through the transfer portal , DeShaun Foster ushering in a new day in Westwood on the gridiron, and the Bruins’ baseball team working through the kinks, it may not be long until Bruins fans see another national title win in the near future.

2024 NCAA DI men's lacrosse championship history

Notre Dame captured its first title in DI men's lacrosse last season after defeating Duke, 13-9. Syracuse leads all programs with 10 national championships including their most recent championship win in 2009.

*After the 1990 championship, the NCAA Committee on Infractions determined that Paul Gait had played in the 1990 championship while ineligible. Under NCAA rules, Syracuse and Paul Gait's records for that championship were vacated. The NCAA does not recognize Syracuse and coach Roy Simmons Jr.'s 3-0 record, and Paul Gait's 7 goals, 7 assists and his participation in that championship.

Title: content-style decoupling for unsupervised makeup transfer without generating pseudo ground truth.

Abstract: The absence of real targets to guide the model training is one of the main problems with the makeup transfer task. Most existing methods tackle this problem by synthesizing pseudo ground truths (PGTs). However, the generated PGTs are often sub-optimal and their imprecision will eventually lead to performance degradation. To alleviate this issue, in this paper, we propose a novel Content-Style Decoupled Makeup Transfer (CSD-MT) method, which works in a purely unsupervised manner and thus eliminates the negative effects of generating PGTs. Specifically, based on the frequency characteristics analysis, we assume that the low-frequency (LF) component of a face image is more associated with its makeup style information, while the high-frequency (HF) component is more related to its content details. This assumption allows CSD-MT to decouple the content and makeup style information in each face image through the frequency decomposition. After that, CSD-MT realizes makeup transfer by maximizing the consistency of these two types of information between the transferred result and input images, respectively. Two newly designed loss functions are also introduced to further improve the transfer performance. Extensive quantitative and qualitative analyses show the effectiveness of our CSD-MT method. College Football National Championship Odds for 2024

James parks | may 27, 2024.

Scenes from a college football game during the NCAA season.

  • Georgia Bulldogs
  • Penn State Nittany Lions
  • Ole Miss Rebels
  • Alabama Crimson Tide
  • Oregon Ducks
  • Texas Longhorns
  • Michigan Wolverines
  • Ohio State Buckeyes
  • Notre Dame Fighting Irish

After last offseason's wave of historic conference realignment that becomes official this summer, the SEC and Big Ten emerged as the big winners, as the sport's two richest leagues, presumptive playoff favorites, and as college football's two budding super-conferences.

So it's not surprising that teams from those leagues are among the favorites to play for and win the expanded College Football Playoff national championship this season. Indeed, nine out of the 10 schools with the best odds to win the title hail from one or the other conference.

Here's an update of the 10 favorite college football teams to win the national championship, according to the latest odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

College Football National Championships odds 2024

10. michigan: +2500.

Michigan Wolverines quarterback Alex Orji runs with the ball during a college football game in the Big Ten.

College football's defending national champions went through a major makeover after losing key players, head coach Jim Harbaugh, and some notable assistants. Sherrone Moore steps in with questions at quarterback and offensive line, but has a skilled defensive core to build around.

9. Notre Dame: +2200

Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback Riley Leonard throws a pass during a college football game.

Marcus Freeman enters his third season leading the Fighting Irish, losing key offensive contributors, especially on the offensive line, but brings on transfer dual-threat quarterback Riley Leonard, wideout Beaux Collins, and boasts one of college football's best secondary pass defenses.

8. Penn State: +2000

Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Drew Allar attempts a pass during a college football game in the Big Ten.

The return of star tailbacks Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen bodes well to stabilize an offense that still needs to figure out how to best exploit quarterback Drew Allar's skill set. And find a new rotation on the offensive line, all while looking to maintain its elite defensive play from a year ago despite replacing both coordinators.

7. LSU: +1700

LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier attempts a pass during a college football game in the SEC.

Improving one of college football's worst defenses is Job No. 1 for new coordinator Blake Baker, and that includes finding replacements for key outgoing talent, especially on the line. Garrett Nussmeier has the tools to succeed Jayden Daniels at quarterback, buoyed by what looks like another talented wide receiver corps.

6. Ole Miss: +1500

Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart attempts a pass during a college football game in the SEC.

Portal King Lane Kiffin made another splash with notable transfer additions on defense like Walter Nolen and Princely Umanmielen on the line, wide receiver Antwane Wells, and tailback Henry Parrish to help quarterback Jaxson Dart, who returns for another season helming the Rebs' offense.

5. Alabama: +1400

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe on a rushing attempt during a college football game in the SEC.

The Nick Saban era is over, and in steps Kalen DeBoer, one of college football's winningest active head coaches to lead the Crimson Tide into the future. Jalen Milroe returns at quarterback, behind what should be an improved line, and helped by a stronger ground game.

4. Oregon: +850

Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel attempts a pass during a college football game in the Big Ten.

Dan Lanning has built another elite roster, one that will be physical in the trenches and boasts elite transfers in quarterback Dillon Gabriel and wide receiver Evan Stewart to lead the Ducks into the Big Ten, where they're already near the top of the odds in that league's title race, too.

3. Texas: +800

Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers attempts a pass during a college football game in the SEC.

Heading into the SEC, the Longhorns look poised to make a run at the conference title right away, thanks to an offense led by quarterback Quinn Ewers, working behind an experienced line, and boasting credible wide receiver talent like Isaiah Bond and Matthew Golden, two principal transfer acquisitions this offseason.

2. Ohio State: +440

Ohio State Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson on a rushing attempt during a college football game in the Big Ten.

Ryan Day is under some pressure to change course in the series against Michigan after losing three straight games, and the Buckeyes were aggressive in the transfer portal: quarterback WIll Howard, tailback Quinshon Judkins, and safety Caleb Downs highlight a strong transfer class. OSU also returns key defensive experience, especially on the edges.

1. Georgia: +300

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck attempts a pass during a college football game in the SEC.

Winning two national titles in three years, and narrowly missing the playoff a third straight time, the Bulldogs return as favorites to win another trophy. Carson Beck returns at quarterback after a highly-efficient outing last year, with key transfers at skill positions, and a veteran core on defense that Kirby Smart can build around. But this schedule is much tougher in 2024.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
