The story Who Did Patrick’s Homework is about a boy who did not like to do his homework at all. The story will talk about the manner in which Patrick gets inspired and is driven to work hard by an imaginary being.
The story has portrayed magical realism in a very different way. It tells the story of a boy named Patrick, who did not like doing his homework. He did not complete his homework, because of which he did not get good grades. He is not interested in homework and only wants to play games like hockey, basketball, and Nintendo.
Patrick’s teachers were warning him to finish his homework to prevent him from being an ignorant person. Patrick feels similarly too but does nothing about it.
Once, he sees that his car is playing with a little doll. He takes away the doll and sees that it is not a doll but a little man. The man was wearing old-fashioned britches and a tall hat, like a witch’s.
The man cried and pleaded for help and asks to save him. The man agreed to grant him a wish in return. Patrick saves the little man and is happy about getting the one wish. He asks to complete his homework till the end of the semester. The man did not like it but agreed to do it. He starts working at night but faces difficulty. The elf asked for Patrick’s help quite often. He asked Patrick for a dictionary, then asks him to find a word and spell it loudly. It was the same with math, and Patrick had to sit beside him to guide him throughout.
Patrick goes to the library and brings books, and reads them to the man. The elf then writes those down in his homework. Practically, it was Patrick who did all the hard work.
When the final day arrived , the elf is free to leave. When the results come out, Patrick had scored an A grade. This is surprising to his classmates and teachers. The parents wonder how he became such a model kid. This led Patrick to develop a different attitude. While Patrick believed that the elf finished his homework, Patrick was the one finishing it.
Patrick was not a lazy boy. He used to play hockey and basketball with great enthusiasm but did not like doing his homework. He was not very interested in studies and was warned by teachers to do his homework and that if he did not do it, he would not learn anything. One day, Patrick saw that his cat was playing with a doll, but it was actually a small man, an elf. The elf wore a woolen shirt, a tall hat, and breeches. He was in trouble and pleaded for help. Patrick saved him and return, was granted a wish.
Patrick was happy and asked the man to do his homework for thirty-five days. The man did not like that but kept his promise. The man did not know much about math and English and needed constant help. He made Patrick look up things in the dictionary. Patrick had to sit beside him and guide him throughout and get books from the library. He worked very hard.
After thirty-five days, the elf went. Patrick scored well in all the subjects. He was a changed boy now and became gentle. He believed that the tiny man did all of his homework, but it was him.
The story is based on the theme that the key to success is just hard work. It teaches students to always do their own work and explains how self-help can do wonders.
The story is about a boy named Patrick. He keeps enjoying games, and despite his teacher’s constant warning to complete the homework, he rarely listens. Once, he sees that his cat is playing with a doll, and he takes it away. To his surprise, it was not a doll, but a little man, who was pleading to Patrick to save him, and in return, he promised that he would grant a wish. Patrick asked the little man to do his homework. The man agreed and began to do his work. However, he was constantly asking for Patrick’s help in all subjects. He used to asked the meaning of words and ask him to explain the events. When the results came out, Patrick got an A grade and was happy about becoming independent.

The Chapter “Who Did Patrick’s Homework” has been written by an American educator, writer, and advocate Carol Moore. The chapter is a story about a child named Patrick.
Patrick never did his homework because he found it very boring. He liked to play games like hockey and basketball and video games like Nintendo. His teachers told Patrick to do his homework or he would not learn a thing. He never heeded his teacher’s warning. Sometimes he did feel like an ignorant person. He could not help it because hated homework.
One day he found his cat playing with a little doll and he snatched it away. He was surprised to see it was not a doll. It was a man of the smallest size. He had a little wool shirt with old-fashioned breeches and a high tall hat like a witch’s. The tiniest man shouted for help and said that he should not be given back to the cat. He promised to give Patrick a wish in return for the help.
Patrick could not believe his luck. He found the answer to all his problems. He asked the little elf to do his homework till the end of the term which was for thirty-five days. And if he did a good enough job, he could even get A’s. The little man felt angry. He kicked his legs and doubled his fists. He even cursed Patrick. But he agreed to do the homework.
The little man kept his promise and began to do Patrick’s homework. The small man did not always know what to do and he needed Patrick’s help. He cried for help and Patrick had to help him. Once the small man did not know the meaning of a word while doing Patrick’s homework. He wanted a dictionary. He asked Patrick to look up the word and made him speak it out by each letter.
When it was the turn of Maths, Patrick was not lucky. The smallest man does not know much about the subject and wanted to be guided by Patrick. He said that elves did not know human history. Every day the smallest man used to trouble Patrick by asking him to do one thing or the other. Patrick had to work harder than ever before. He found this very dull and uninteresting. He had to keep awake at night. He used to feel tired. He used to go to school with sleepy eyes. The little made Patrick work harder than before by his smart tactics.
Finally, the last day of school came. The elf was free to go because there was no more homework to be done. He quietly slipped out of the back door. Patrick got an A grade in the examination. His teachers smiled and were full of praise. Patrick’s parents wondered how Patrick had done so well. He was now the model child. He started cleaning his room, did all the things he was to do, was always cheerful, and never rude to anyone. He had developed a whole new attitude.
Patrick thought that he had made the tiny man do all the homework for him. The writer says that it was not the elf (the tiny man) who had done any work. It was Patrick himself who had done it himself.
Patrick was a sharp but lazy boy. He never liked to do his homework because he hated it. He liked to play games like hockey, basketball and Nintendo. His teachers used to tell him to do his homework but he ignored it most of the time.
One day while his cat was playing with a doll, he took it away but he was surprised to know that it was not a cat but a tiny man. The tiny man shouted for help and asked to grant Patrick a wish for saving his life. Patrick was so happy after hearing this. He told him that he will save him if will do all his homework till the end of the semester.
The elf had no other choice so he agreed. The elf started to do Patrick’s homework but he always needed Patrick’s help. Patrick has to help the tiny man and, in the process, Patrick was working harder than before. The elf very cunningly made Patrick do all his homework in the context of helping him.
Finally, on the last day of school, the elf was free to go and so slipped out of the back door. Patrick got A’s in his homework. His classmates were amazed, teachers were happy and parents were wondering how it all has happened. Patrick was now a changed kid with a whole new attitude.

The detailed plan to dismantle and reconstruct the government laid out by conservative groups known as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project has critics up in arms over its " apocalyptic " and " authoritarian " nature.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank in Washington, D.C., led an effort to create the more than 900-page "Mandate for Leadership," published in April 2023, reimagining the executive branch and presented a plan to overhaul several federal government agencies, including the FBI, for the country's next conservative president to follow.
More: Project 2025 head says 'second American Revolution' will be 'bloodless if the left allows'
According to the Project's website, the playbook provides a governing agenda and a lineup of people ready to implement it to "rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left." It includes a domestic and foreign policy agenda, a list of personnel, training, and a 180-day playbook.
"It is not enough for conservatives to win elections," Project 2025 said on its website . "With the right conservative policy recommendations and properly vetted and trained personnel to implement them, we will take back our government."
Project 2025's Director is Paul Dans , who served as the U.S. Office of Personnel Management chief of staff in former President Donald Trump's administration. Although it mentions Trump by name, the handbook does not directly assume the Republican party's presumptive nominee will be the one to carry out its agenda.
The mandate attacks several policies that former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden instituted, including student loan forgiveness and Obamacare . It simultaneously calls for expanded executive power for the commander-in-chief while criticizing what Project 2025 members perceive as overreaches by the Biden administration.
"Presidents should not issue mask or vaccine mandates, arbitrarily transfer student loan debt, or issue monarchical mandates of any sort," the plan reads. "Legislatures make the laws in a republic, not executives."
The playbook calls for the reinstatement of a Trump executive order augmenting a president's power to hire and fire federal officials by replacing civil servants with political appointees throughout government.
It also seeks to repeal aspects of the Affordable Care Act , urge the Food and Drug Administration to reverse the approval of abortion pills , and further empower Immigration and Customs Enforcement to deport undocumented immigrants .
The plan also specifically addresses LGBTQ+ issues and attacks "radical gender ideology." In addition to calling for an end to the Department of Education, it suggests legislation that would forbid educators from using transgender students' names or pronouns without written permission from their guardians. It also appears to oppose same-sex marriage and gay couples adopting children by seeking to "maintain a biblically based, social science-reinforced definition of marriage and family."
Project 2025 has received substantial criticism from Democrats, including Representative Jasmine Crockett , D-Texas, who called out the controversial plan during a congressional hearing last month.
"I don't know why or how anybody can support Project 2025," Crockett said. "In the United States of America, dictatorships are never funny, and Project 2025 is giving the playbook for authoritarianism as well as the next dictator to come in."
Progressive Democrat U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts called it a "far-right manifesto" in a post on TikTok . The Biden campaign captioned a video detailing Project 2025, stating it "needs more attention."
