How to submit an Assignment on myModules

Follow the steps below to complete an Written Assignment assessment:
- Open the Assignment assessment.
- Complete the Take-Home assessment in MS Word or on paper. Note: MS Word documents needs to be saved as a PDF document and paper based answers needs to be scanned in to a combined PDF document.
- Note the file requirements such as:
- File size limit.
- Number of files that can be submitted.
- File formats allowed.

Your Guide to Submitting Unisa Assignments

The academic year has begun so assignments deadlines are approaching. If you need guidance on how to submit your assignments as a Unisa student, we can assist you.
Submitting multiple-choice assignments via myUnisa
- Log on to your myUnisa account
- Go to 'More Sites'
- Select the module's site
- Click on 'Assignments'
- Find the assignment you'll be submitting
- Click on 'Submit'
- Enter the total number of questions for your assignment in the Number of Questions field.
- Click on the radio button [the small circle] that corresponds to your answer for that question.
- Click on the Continue button to submit your assignment.
Submitting written (text) assignments online
- Go to 'myAdmin'
- Click on 'Assignment Submission'
- Select the file to be submitted
- Submit assignment
Or you can:
- Go to 'More Sites'
Submitting written (text) assignments via Post
- Complete assignment
- Print out assignment
- Make sure all your details are on the cover sheet
- Compile and place in a Unisa envelope provided
Students will then have to make use of either a courier or submit their assignment at a regional office of Unisa. For more information pertaining to offices and postal procedures, click here
Things to remember when submitting
- It is important to complete cover sheets correctly. They should have the following completed: your student number, the course code, the assignment number, student's intials and surname, student's address, unique number, cell phone number.
- Check for any mistakes before submitting as no requests to cancel assignments submitted via myUnisa will be accepted.
- Make sure your student number appears on the assignment.
- With MCQs, you can click on Clear Form to remove all your selections and start from new if you want to restart the assignment.
You will only be allowed to resubmit your assignment under the following conditions:
- The resubmit button is available
- The assignment has not been mark
- The due date has passed
- Make sure that your student number appears in your assignment text. For word processor files, it is a good idea to have a header on each page with your student number, course code, assignment number, etc.
There are three ways to check that your assignments have been successfully submitted:
- When you submit an assignment, you will receive a clear status message. If the message reads "Assignment received in good order", your assignment has been successfully received by Unisa.
- You will receive a receipt with a unique track and trace number on submission.
- Your list of assignments for each module on myUnisa will be updated immediately after the successful submission of an assignment.

They're critical and compulsory - you won't be allowed to write the examination unless you complete the relevant assessments (where applicable). They also contribute to your final mark, so it's vital that you complete them according to the specified guidelines.
Always keep a copy of your assessment in case you are requested to re-submit a copy.
Tips for completing assessments
Completing your assessments successfully involves
- reading the assessment instructions and questions .
- collecting the evidence , including photos, specimen documents and artefacts.
- compiling a structured response using study guides, lessons/study units, prescribed books, readings, observations, discussions, consulting a workplace mentor/learning supervisor and the internet ( please ensure that you are aware of what plagiarism is and avoid plagiarising the source materials ).
- using headings and subheadings (your assessment should include an introduction, a main heading, a description of the key facts, a conclusion and proper referencing, including in-text citations, a bibliography and acknowledgement, where applicable).
- providing as much factual information as possible, so that the marker can easily identify your knowledge and experience.
- ensuring that you refrain from academic dishonesty practices .
Remember: It's your responsibility to ensure that you assessments are received by Unisa . Do not wait until the closing date to submit your assessment. To check that Unisa has received your assignment, login to myUnisa , click on "myAdmin", "Assessment Admin" and then "Assignments submission".
Types of assessments

| Portfolio of evidence | A portfolio, or e-portfolio, refers to a collection of evidence derived from experiential learning. It is important to familiarise yourself with exactly what the portfolio should include, both in terms of content and format. If descriptions are required, for example, then mere artefacts/specimens/photos are inadequate. Please adhere to format and submission requirements. A portfolio takes much longer to compile than the other types of assignments which means you have to give yourself enough time to gather the evidence required and complete the portfolio by the due date. |
| Computer Science students | Submit programs or program output in either a text (ASCII) file or in a word processor file. Only submit one file per assignment – you may have to combine different files into one document. You can create a single PDF document that combines different source files. You will only be allowed to resubmit assignments under the following conditions:
- You submit your assignment by the due date (no late submissions will be permitted).
- You do not submit the same assignment via myUnisa and mail.
Assignment results
Assessment results can be viewed on myUnisa via myAdmin. To download marked written assessments, log onto your myModule site and follow these instructions. You will not be able to download the marked written assessment via myAdmin and the Assignment view. Marked final assessment files will not be available to download.
Unisa prescribes a set of minimum standards (academic progression rules) with which students must comply to ensure their continued registration with the university. These are set out in the Admission Policy.

On June 14, 2024, at 3:27 p.m. inmate Kevin Sider escaped from Grande Cache Institution, a medium-security federal institution, while on work assignment within the institutional property.
June 14, 2024 – Grande Cache, Alberta – Correctional Service Canada
On June 14, 2024, at 3:27 p.m. inmate Kevin Sider escaped from Grande Cache Institution, a medium-security federal institution, while on work assignment within the institutional property.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Grande Cache Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and a warrant for the inmate’s arrest has been issued.
Kevin Sider is 44 years old, measures 180 cm (5′11″) in height and weighs 105 kg (232 lbs). The inmate has a fair complexion, blue eyes and brown hair and has a tattoo on the left leg.
The inmate is currently serving a sentence of 9 years, 6 months, 18 days for Break and Enter and Commit (x11), Laundering Proceeds of Crime, Break and Enter with Intent (x6), Failure to Attend Court, Failure to Comply with Order and Intent to Cause Explosion (x4).
Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Kevin Sider is asked to contact the police.
CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.
CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
