If you’re new to sports betting or looking to try a new sportsbook, one of the first things you should consider is the welcome offer.
There are two main types of betting promotions for new customers. One is a “first bet” offer, also known as a “no sweat bet,” “second chance bet” or “safety net bet.” It involves getting your first bet back in site credit (up to a certain amount) if your first wager loses.
Other books will give you money for signing up and making a deposit. This is usually in the form of a “bet and get” promo, where you receive bonus bets or site credit just for making a small wager after registering. This gives you money to play with to see if you like the sportsbook.
The second option is often preferable, but it depends. A first bet offer is good for a casual bettor who wants to quickly sample a sportsbook or has a specific bet in mind. The second option is preferable for someone who wants to wager on multiple games or markets.
Terms and conditions vary based on sportsbook.
Once you’ve registered for a sportsbook and played through your welcome bonus, it’s also important to evaluate the promotions for existing users. Some sportsbooks offer daily odds boosts or rewards programs to keep customers engaged.
If you wager frequently, you’ll want a sportsbook with frequent boosts and a robust rewards program like Caesars or Fanatics. If you’re a more casual bettor, these won’t matter as much.
Most online sportsbooks have the same basic betting options for college football. Whichever one you use, you’ll find moneylines , spreads , Over/Unders , parlays , prop bets and futures.
One area where sportsbooks can stand out, however, is with their odds for those markets.
Most sportsbooks will have similar but different odds for the same matchup. For example, the Panthers might be a -120 moneyline favorite at FanDuel and a -115 moneyline favorite at DraftKings .
However, one sportsbook will not have the best odds for every game. BetMGM may have better odds for one game while Caesars will have better odds for a different game.
If you’re serious about sports betting and want to maximize the value of your bets, you need to get the most favorable odds. The best way to do that is by joining multiple sportsbooks and comparing the odds at different sites before placing your wager.
Even slight differences in odds can significantly alter your payout, especially when you combine multiple bets into a parlay.
We’ve taken the time to sample and research numerous sportsbooks, narrowing down a list of the best in the industry. These criteria can help you decide which ones to try first.
Our list above is based on scores in the following categories:
App reviews
Availability across states
Size of welcome offer
Ease of claiming welcome offer
Rewards program
In-app streaming capabilities
Existing user promos
Customer service options
Below, we’ll break down each category and why it’s important to your sports betting experience.
App Reviews
A quick and easy way to get a sense of a sportsbook’s quality is by comparing user reviews on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). Since ratings are out of five stars, you’ll generally want a sportsbook that’s well-regarded with an average score of at least four stars.
You can also dive into specific user comments to see what people are saying about the app and whether there are any recurring complaints or issues. This can be helpful for features that are hard to gauge until you actually use the app, like glitchiness or customer service.
Many commenters are there to complain, so don’t put too much stock in specific reviews. That said, if you notice common themes throughout the comments, consider it a warning for issues you may encounter with the app.
State Availability
Each state handles sports betting differently. Some states allow both in-person and mobile sports betting, while others might only allow in-person sports betting or have a hard cap on the number of mobile sportsbooks permitted.
Accordingly, sportsbooks vary by state , as each state has to approve a sportsbook before it can launch there. No sportsbook is available in every state with legal online sports betting, but a few have launched in the majority of them.
Generally speaking, the more states a sportsbook is available in, the better. That means it’s more likely to be available in your state, a bordering state or a state you’re likely to travel to, making it easier and more convenient to use. That way, you’ll be able to take your sportsbook with you rather than needing to sign up for a new one every time you leave your state.
While smaller “local” sportsbooks usually offer profit boosts and other bonuses based on hometown teams, they’re usually only available in a handful of states at most.
Size of Welcome Offer
This is an important one. How much money will a sportsbook give you for signing up?
Most sportsbooks have welcome offers to entice new customers, but it’s important to know how these offers work. Just because an offer has a higher dollar amount attached to it doesn’t necessarily make it better.
Some sportsbooks have “bet and get” promotions where you receive bonus bets (site credit) just for wagering a small amount of money. For example, you might get $200 in bonus bets just for placing a $5 wager. You’re essentially getting free money to bet with.
Other sportsbooks have “no-sweat” offers that give a bonus bet only if your first bet loses.
For example, if you place a $20 bet after signing up and it loses, you’ll receive a $20 bonus bet, similar to a refund.
These offers tend to wow bettors with larger amounts than “bet and get” promos, often going up to $1,000 or $1,500. However, you’ll only receive a bonus bet if your first wager loses, in which case you’ll need to use the bonus bet to try to win your money back. If your wager wins, you’ll receive your cash winnings like a normal wager but won’t receive any bonus.
Accordingly, “no sweat” offers generally aren’t as good as “bet and get” promos.
When comparing sportsbooks, it’s better to focus on welcome offers with guaranteed bonuses that give you site credit no matter what.
Ease of Claiming Welcome Offer
The size of the bonus offer won’t matter if it’s difficult to claim.
The best sportsbook bonus offers are as easy to claim as they are generous, being simple and straightforward without requiring you to jump through hoops. The best bonuses are guaranteed and hit your account instantly as soon as you place your first bet. They’ll also be easy to follow and won’t require you to check a bunch of boxes to get your bonus.
Some sportsbook bonus offers require you to make multiple wagers or wait days or weeks to unlock your full bonus. This can be inconvenient, especially if you’re trying to get your full bonus ahead of a major sporting event like a bowl game or the National Championship.
More complex offers can be a pain, so we prefer simplified offers with fewer requirements.
Rewards Program
If you bet often and are planning to use a sportsbook frequently, a strong rewards program is essential.
Loyalty programs differ by sportsbook. Some give you rewards points for each bet, which can then be converted into bonus bets or other rewards. Others offer big rewards like free trips, hotel stays, tickets to sporting events and more.
On the other hand, some sportsbooks don’t have any rewards. That might not be a big deal for casual bettors, but it can make a difference for frequent sports bettors.
It’s like paying for something with cash versus a credit card. If you place a bet at a site without a loyalty program, you’re missing out on points elsewhere.
In-App Streaming Capabilities
While bigger sports like football or basketball are usually only available to watch via traditional cable or streaming services, some sportsbooks offer the ability to stream smaller sports in the app, which is a benefit for bettors.
For example, FanDuel ‘s app often streams tennis matches, which makes it easier to follow the action and place live wagers .
Beyond just offering live streaming, we also considered how laggy the stream was, how much battery it used and the amount of events available to stream in the app.
Existing User Promos
Most sportsbooks have some type of welcome offer to get new customers in the door, but where they really differ is with their promotions for existing customers.
Some sportsbooks offer a slew of daily promotions like odds boosts, no-sweat bets, bonus bets and more to keep customers coming back every day. Others only offer these sparingly, however, if at all.
One key existing user promo to consider is the referral bonus. Many sportsbooks have some type of referral bonus for getting someone else to sign up, but the amount can differ ($50 per person, $100, $200, etc.). If you’re planning to bet with friends or family, this can be a great way to score bonus bets for you and them.
Similar to a rewards program, you’ll want a sportsbook with frequent offers for existing customers if you plan to bet frequently.
Customer Service Options
Strong customer service options are a must for any sportsbook considering most disputes or calls involve someone’s money.
High marks were given to any sportsbook that offered 24/7 customer service (sporting events often end at night, after all), while points were deducted if a sportsbook relied on a FAQ page as a key part of its customer service profile. The more options for contacting customer service (email, chat, phone, etc.), the better.
Customer support is essential to guaranteeing a smooth sports betting experience. If a problem arises, it’s important to have it handled quickly and effectively.

What is the best college football betting site?
Our team of sportsbook experts tested the features and attributes of several college football betting sites to see which provided the best user experience. One online sportsbook stood out above the rest for betting on college football. FanDuel Sportsbook is our top-ranked college football betting site. Let’s talk about why.
FanDuel Sportsbook
FanDuel began as a leader in daily fantasy sports but has since ventured into online sports betting. It is the most-used online sportsbook in the U.S. market and has become a source of enjoyment for fans of all sports, including college football.
World-class mobile app
Plentiful college football markets
Existing user promos
FanDuel is our top-rated college football betting site primarily due to its top-notch mobile app. The FanDuel Sportsbook mobile app has the smoothest interface of all college football betting sites. The design is simple, which is a net positive considering the crowded field of sports betting apps .
Odds and lines are neatly distributed into distinct categories within the FanDuel mobile app, allowing you to find exactly what you’re looking for quickly and efficiently. FanDuel houses plenty of market variety, including live betting, futures and props for college football.
FanDuel also offers new customers some of the most valuable welcome bonuses in the industry. While the sign-up bonuses may not offer the highest maximum bonus amounts, they usually carry lenient wagering requirements. The offers don’t stop at new users, either. Existing customers can grab several college football betting promos, like odds boosts, parlay insurance and more.
Our thorough review of the best college football betting sites found FanDuel Sportsbook to be the best in class. The site excels in virtually every area we evaluate, and we observed zero drawbacks to using it for college football betting.
Other college football betting sites we recommend
Our rankings of the best college football betting sites don’t stop at FanDuel Sportsbook. There are many other options, each offering unique features that make it an excellent place to bet on college football. Let’s explore five more betting sites to try out today.
DraftKings Sportsbook
DraftKings Sportsbook is another excellent online college football betting site with extraordinary market variety. Bettors are greeted with a fantastic welcome bonus and extensive bet types that can’t be found elsewhere.
Variety of markets
Player props (where legal)
Advantageous promos
DraftKings’ dominance in market variety is headlined by its outstanding futures wager types. You can find betting options for some of the most considerable longshot teams to win the title or the Heisman Trophy. Even on a game level, DraftKings excels. You can find unique game and player props for more high-profile matchups, so long as they are legal to wager on in your state.
Another aspect of DraftKings Sportsbook that we enjoy is its lucrative promos. This sentiment extends to new and existing customers, with the site regularly providing deposit matches and bet-and-get offers. You can also find bet boosts and bonus bets occasionally added to your account as an existing customer, adding value to your betting experience simply by being a DraftKings customer.
Fanatics Sportsbook
Fanatics is one of the leading providers of sports merchandise in the U.S., and its new Fanatics Sportsbook product has already become a popular college football betting site.
Unique welcome offers
“FanCash” credits
Strong parlay rewards
Fanatics Sportsbook works off a cashback system called FanCash for all its customers. FanCash can be utilized as site credit or to purchase merchandise from Fanatics. You earn FanCash back on every wager, with the percentage contribution varying by type. Longshot parlays can give you as much as 5% back, while most straight wagers provide 1%.
You can also find generous welcome offers at Fanatics Sportsbook, often in unique structures. In the past, Fanatics Sportsbook has offered college football bettors “bet matches” when they sign up, where your first bet (of up to $100) in each of your first 10 days is matched and given to you as a bonus bet. As an existing customer, you can also claim promos like odds boosts in addition to the FanCash system.
bet365 Sportsbook
bet365 Sportsbook is one of the most-used online sportsbooks in the world, and while it’s been slow to immerse itself in the U.S., it still offers a formidable college football betting site.
Valuable welcome bonus
Friendly wagering requirements
Choice of promotional offers
Upon a review of bet365 , we noticed the exceptional value college football bettors can claim after registration. bet365 routinely offers welcome bonuses more value-heavy than the rest of the industry, mixed in with bettor-friendly wagering requirements. At bet365, you can often choose your bonus structure between a first bet insurance promo and a bet-and-get.
bet365 might not be our favorite sportsbook for wagering on college football, but it remains a solid option among betting sites because of the sheer value its promos maintain.
BetMGM Sportsbook
BetMGM Sportsbook is one of our top college football betting sites, primarily because of its outstanding custom betting options. Most online sportsbooks only have standard odds and lines for these games, but BetMGM allows you to adjust them to your liking.
Adjustable betting lines
Generous sign-up offer
Flexible college football parlay options
For example, a team might be favored against the spread by 6.5 points. You’re not stuck at BetMGM Sportsbook – you can change it to 5.5, 9.5, or any other spread you want. This can allow you to create parlays and place straight wagers with longer or shorter odds. It’s entirely up to you.
BetMGM usually paces the industry with maximum bonus amounts on its sign-up offers but usually carries harsher wagering requirements. Still, if you’re a big bankroll bettor, BetMGM might be the best college football betting site for you.
BetRivers Sportsbook
BetRivers Sportsbook is yet another quality college football betting option in 2024. As a bettor, you will receive a user-friendly welcome bonus before encountering wide-ranging betting markets and competitive odds for each game, as well as futures markets.
iRush Rewards program
Odds adjuster tool
Ongoing college football promos
The user experience at BetRivers continues to improve , as the online sportsbook appears intent on joining the elite brands in the business. One of the aspects regarding the college football betting experience at BetRivers is the dedicated “Statistics” page for individual games.
Using this function gives you added insight into various worthwhile aspects of matchups, including weather conditions, injuries, full game previews and their patented “Genius Predictor” tool.
Caesars Sportsbook
Caesars Sportsbook is a certified heavyweight within the industry, and they deliver an elite college football betting experience. There are several reasons to like Caesars as a CFB bettor, highlighted by their competitive odds, rewards program and bet builder tool.
“Quick Picks” bet builder
Caesars Rewards
User-friendly futures odds
The “Quick Picks” parlay builder function available at Caesars is arguably the best of its kind. For example, Caesars posts CFB/NFL crossover pre-built parlays prior to the season’s kickoff. During the football season, you can find all kinds of pre-crafted parlays and same game parlays.
Moreover, Caesars is known for its favorable odds when it comes to futures markets, and that holds true for betting on college football. Finally, bettors will be able to take advantage of odds boost opportunities each week over the course of the college football season.
Our favorite picks for college football betting
College football betting sites offer unique perks that make them attractive to sports bettors. We consider different factors, including the best sign-up bonus, mobile app and place to wager on the CFP this season.
Where can you get the best sign-up bonus?
Sign-up bonuses at college football betting sites vary frequently in most cases. However, the site that has consistently offered the most valuable welcome offers is bet365 Sportsbook. bet365 has provided as much as $2,000 in bonus bets in the past and usually has multiple structures for new sign-ups to choose from during registration.

What is the best college football betting app?
As mentioned throughout this review, FanDuel Sportsbook has the best college football betting mobile app. We particularly enjoyed the app’s smooth interface and intuitive nature, something very helpful for beginners.
You should be able to sign up and figure out how to place wagers and make deposits without spending time learning the app. FanDuel is available for iOS and Android devices, and covers most mobile options bettors use.
Everything you seek to do at FanDuel Sportsbook’s mobile app can be handled quickly and efficiently. Looking to talk with customer service? There’s a clear path to getting there. Do you want to process a withdrawal? Everything is clearly labeled.

As you can see, FanDuel is tied for the best-rated app for iOS devices. It’s also tied for the lead on Android devices. There’s no better place to bet on your favorite college football teams and marquee matchups than on the FanDuel Sportsbook mobile app.
What is the best sportsbook for college football live betting?
Upon review, the best college football betting site for live wagering is FanDuel Sportsbook. As a user, you will immediately notice how comprehensive the college football live betting menu is at FanDuel. You can find many odds and lines for unique markets not offered elsewhere.
Live betting is crucial to wagering on football, especially when it comes to college football. Because games are so high-scoring on average, the tides of a matchup can shift within seconds. This can allow you to find the value you wouldn’t be able to see in pregame lines, and we think the most value can be found at FanDuel.
Occasionally, existing customers may find promos exclusively for live betting purposes. Not only that, but the live betting odds update faster at FanDuel via its mobile app, which we found to be faster than any other, allowing you to place live wagers as quickly as possible.
These reasons are why FanDuel is our choice for the best college football betting site to live bet at.
Best sportsbook to bet on the College Football Playoff
The College Football Playoff is the most important event during the college football season and draws the most attention at betting sites. The structure of the CFP has changed drastically in recent years, and now more teams are making it to the event.
Our favorite site to bet on the College Football Playoff is DraftKings Sportsbook . DraftKings consistently offers among the most bettor-friendly odds for futures wagers on college football.

A guide to betting on college football
Now that you know the best college football betting sites, let’s discuss our evaluation process, how different betting markets work and strategies for beating the book this season.
What makes a good college football betting site?
There are five crucial factors we identified that ensure whether or not a college football betting site is worth your time. Let’s dive in and explore them.
1. Bonuses & promotions
Several factors contribute to the success of a top college football betting site, including its bonuses and promotions. You should be able to register quickly and immediately receive a sign-up bonus. Once you’ve started, you should also be able to take advantage of various existing customer promotions.
2. Competitive odds & betting markets
College football betting sites must offer customers competitive odds and a comprehensive selection of betting markets. Favorable odds on specific futures markets should provide massive value for bettors. In addition to the standard ones, various niche betting markets should be available.
3. Live betting
The action can quickly shift in college football, and the elite college football betting sites generally have an outstanding live betting menu. Some college football fans may prefer live wagering over traditional betting options.
4. Banking options
To be one of the best college football betting sites, an online sportsbook must offer a variety of banking methods. These should include standard methods like debit and credit cards and popular payment processors like PayPal, Apple Pay or Venmo. Your transactions should also be handled with care and processed as quickly as possible without delay.
5. Mobile app quality
A college football betting site must have a formidable mobile app to be considered in our evaluation process. The app should have a modern, smooth interface that allows for seamless processing of anything you want to take care of. The layout should not be overcrowded with banner ads. If the mobile app meets these criteria, it grades out favorably with us.
Understanding college football betting markets
Betting on college football is different for every sports bettor. The best betting sites offer unique markets, including common wager types like moneylines, spreads, futures and props. Let’s discuss how each of these bet types function.
When one places a bet on a team’s moneyline it means they are betting on them to win the game. Matchups have a favorite and an underdog, with favorites offered at shorter odds and underdogs almost always at plus money.
For example, say USC is playing UCLA. USC is a -170 favorite on the moneyline, and UCLA is the underdog at +140 odds. If you bet on UCLA, you win if UCLA defeats USC outright. A $100 bet would get you $140 plus your $100 stake back in this example.
Point spread
A point spread is attached to all college football matchups to “even the odds” between the favorite and the underdog. The favorite will surrender points against the spread, while the underdog is granted the exact point total on top of their final score.
Let’s use Alabama vs. Texas A&M as an example. Say Alabama is a 3.5-point favorite, so the lines are Alabama -3.5 and Texas A&M +3.5. For Alabama to cover the spread, they must win by more than 3.5 points (four or more). For Texas A&M to cover the spread, they must win outright or lose by less than 3.5 points (three or less).
The primary betting total for a college football game is the combined projected final score for both teams in a matchup. For example, say Georgia beats Florida State 35-30.
If the betting total were set at 54.5, betting on the “over” would win because the final score was 10.5 points over the line. Betting on the “under” would lose as the final score was not less than 54.5 points.
When you create a parlay at a college football betting site, you combine multiple wagers into one ticket for an exponentially larger payout. Your potential winnings can grow at such a quick rate because all selections in the parlay must win for the parlay to win.
Suppose you parlay Alabama’s moneyline at -170 odds with the Over 54.5 at -110 odds. Instead of taking these bets separately, you can parlay them for +203 odds. If one or both bets in the parlay lose, the parlay loses. If both bets win, you win your parlay.
The example above would qualify as a same game parlay because all the selections within the parlay are from the same college football game. However, you can also create standard parlays with bets across different games.
Prop bets typically contain the most unique markets at college football betting sites. The most popular form of prop is the player prop, where you wager on the statistical production of a player. However, most states don’t allow you to wager on these types of college football bets for a variety of legal reasons. Most notably, the NCAA has proposed a ban on such bets with the stated interest in “ensuring fairness” in sports betting and protecting student athletes.
Where legal, you might wager on a running back to rack up “over” 100.5 rushing yards in a game. If the player succeeds, you win the bet. If the player fails to reach 101+ rushing yards, you would lose that bet.
Futures bets work precisely as they sound, allowing you to bet on future events such as the winner of the College Football Playoff or the Heisman Trophy. More markets are available depending on the college football betting site and the legislation passed in your legal betting state.
College football betting strategies
If you’re a college football fan, betting on matchups you plan to watch can make the experience even more enjoyable. However, there’s an enormous difference between betting for enjoyment and trying to bet for profit.
The best sports bettors in the world maintain a 56-60% win rate on their picks. This is possible to achieve if you utilize a few key betting strategies .
Shop for the best odds
This really applies to whatever sport you are going to bet on, but it is especially pertinent in college football betting. Every sportsbook offers different lines and odds. When every half-point can make a difference between winning and losing your bets, you want to be sure you are getting the best possible value. Spending a few minutes shopping around all of the top sportsbooks to get the most favorable odds is well worth your time and an excellent strategy to use before finalizing your bets.
Familiarize with analytics
Another vital part of the road to profitability is understanding what analytics terms mean and how to apply them. Numbers don’t lie; you can learn much more about a team’s tendencies and styles with stats than just a box score.
You can utilize other strategies to become a profitable college football bettor, such as those mentioned in our college football betting guide . As you become more accustomed to the nature of betting on college football, you can find your own.

Understanding College Football Betting Basics
In the world of college football, betting is more than just a game—it’s a strategic dance that requires a keen understanding of the basics. The most popular betting odds revolve around three main types of bets: money line bets, spread bets, and over/under bets. These bets form the backbone of any successful wager and knowing how they work is fundamental to understanding college football betting lines.
Money Line Bets
Money line bets are the foundation of college football betting, and understanding NCAA football odds is crucial for successful football betting. They involve picking the team you believe will win the game outright, without any point spread being involved. The odds for money line bets are based on $100 increments, with favorites indicated by a minus symbol (-) and underdogs by a plus symbol (+). For instance, if a team is favored with odds of -300, you would need to bet $300 to win $100. Understanding college football betting odds is essential for successful football betting.
On the other hand, an underdog with odds of +230 means that a $100 bet would win you $230. While it may seem tempting to always bet on the favorites, don’t forget that a winning bet on underdog wins can provide significant payouts.
Spread Bets
Spread bets add a new level of excitement to college football betting. In a spread bet, you’re not just betting on who will win, but by how much. The favorites are identified by a minus (-) sign and are the teams laying points, meaning they must win by more than the point spread for the bet to be successful. On the other hand, the underdog must either win outright or lose by less than the spread.
Critical to spread betting is the concept of key numbers, such as 3, 6, 7, and 14, which correspond to common scores in football games and can affect the value of the spread.
Over/Under Bets
Over/under bets or totals betting, as the name suggests, involves predicting whether the total points scored by both teams will be over or under a certain number set by the sportsbook. This type of bet does not concern itself with who will win the game, but rather the total number of points scored in the game.
While it can be tempting to always bet on a high-scoring game, it’s important to remember that defense plays a critical role in the outcome of many college football games.
Top Sports Betting Sites for College Football
Now that we’ve laid down the basics of betting, let’s dive into where you can place your bets. In 2024, the top sports betting sites for college football include:
SportsBetting
These platforms provide a wide range of college football betting lines, including NCAA football lines, making them favorites among bettors.
Bovada, for example, offers an extensive range of college football betting lines, such as:
These cater to different levels of betting expertise. Plus, with easy-to-navigate interfaces, bettors can swiftly find and place bets on college football games. More importantly, these top sports betting sites feature in-depth coverage of all major college football conferences and games, providing bettors with plenty of betting opportunities each week.
Analyzing College Football Odds
Understanding college football odds is a critical aspect of successful betting. Odds reflect the probability of a particular outcome happening and can be presented in three different formats: American, decimal, and fractional. Each format provides the same information but is expressed differently.
American Odds
American odds, often used in the United States for sports betting, are based on a $100 wager. A plus (+) sign represents an underdog and the subsequent number indicates the potential profit from a $100 bet. Conversely, a minus (-) sign denotes a favorite and shows how much one needs to bet to win $100.
For instance, -110 odds require a bet of $110 to win $100, while +200 odds imply a $100 bet could yield $200 in profit.
Decimal Odds
Decimal odds, on the other hand, represent the total payout for a $1 bet, which includes the profit plus the original bet. For example, with decimal odds of 1.87, a $10 bet would return $18.70, including the original bet.
Odds less than 2.0 indicate a favorite bet, exactly 2.0 is an even money bet, and more than 2.0 indicates an underdog bet.
Fractional Odds
Lastly, fractional odds are displayed as fractions, such as 3-1 or 7-4, representing the potential profit relative to the stake. In fractional odds, the numerator (top number) indicates the potential profit earned for every unit of the denominator (bottom number) which is the amount bet.
To identify favorites and underdogs using fractional odds, a favorite is indicated by a larger denominator than numerator, whereas an underdog will have a larger numerator than the denominator.
Strategies for Successful College Football Betting
Betting on college football involves a combination of:
Understanding the basics and analyzing the odds
Research and analysis
Bankroll management
Shopping for the best lines
By following these strategies, you can increase your chances of successful college football betting.
Research and Analysis
Before placing a bet, it’s crucial to do your homework. Research and analysis involve monitoring betting trends, team matchups, and staying informed on relevant news. For instance, understanding the public’s tendency to bet on popular teams such as Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, and Clemson can influence the size of the spread.
Therefore, having a thorough understanding of popular sports, as well as utilizing official league data and statistics, can inform decisions and help predict outcomes accurately.
Bankroll Management
Bankroll management is another essential strategy for successful betting. It entails betting only a fraction of your total bankroll on a single wager to ensure that betting does not disrupt daily living. Professional bettors commonly adhere to strategies such as betting no more than 1% to 5% of their bankroll per game.
Applying such a disciplined betting strategy includes avoiding impulsive decisions influenced by emotional betting, recent wins or losses, and maintaining a set betting track based on outcomes and ongoing assessments.
Shopping for the Best Lines
Finally, shopping for the best opening lines involves:
Comparing the odds and lines offered by various sportsbooks
Securing the best possible betting odds
Taking advantage of more favorable odds, especially when more bets are placed on one team and sportsbooks adjust to balance their risk.
Seeking out sportsbooks that offer more advantageous odds than the standard -110 can result in more profitable betting outcomes over time.
Key College Football Events and Betting Opportunities
College football offers a plethora of betting opportunities throughout the season. Some of the key events to consider for betting include:
Regular season games
High-stakes rivalry games
Each event presents unique betting opportunities that can significantly impact your betting portfolio.
Regular Season Games
Regular season games are a staple of college football, a popular segment of college sports, and provide significant betting value. These games can offer unexpected betting opportunities due to public perceptions based on previous season results or preseason hype. For instance, a team that performed well in the previous season may not maintain the same level of performance in the current season due to factors like player injuries or coaching changes.
Therefore, early-season games can provide significant betting value if you’re able to look beyond public perceptions.
Rivalry Games
Rivalry games are some of the biggest games of the season, carrying significant historical and emotional weight. These games can influence both team performance and betting dynamics. Notable rivalries such as Army vs. Navy, Michigan vs. Ohio State, and Alabama vs. Auburn carry a storied history that enhances their betting appeal.
Therefore, understanding the dynamics of these rivalries can be crucial in placing successful bets.
Bowl Games and Playoffs
Bowl games and playoffs are the pinnacle of the college football season. The College Football Playoffs and National Championship Games, in particular, draw substantial betting action. These games, along with other prominent bowl games like the New Year’s Six, provide numerous betting opportunities for teams not competing in the Playoffs, marking an exciting betting period post-regular season.
Live Betting and In-Game Wagers
Live betting, also known as in-game wagering, adds another dimension to the world of college football betting. It allows you to place bets during a game, offering new spreads and odds that reflect the game’s progression. This creates an interactive betting experience, allowing you to:
Respond to the ebbs and flows of the game in real-time
Take advantage of changing circumstances and odds
Make more informed betting decisions based on the game’s progress
How Live Betting Works
Live betting enables bet placement on college football games that have already started. Unlike pre-game betting, live betting allows wagers to be placed at any point during the game, instead of only before the game commences. During a live college football game, the betting odds are continuously recalculated and updated, and may be temporarily suspended during key moments for adjustment by sportsbooks.
Popular Live Betting Markets
Just like pre-game bets, typical live bets such as point spreads, moneylines, and totals are available in live betting, with odds that change as the game progresses. More granular live bets include wagers on the outcome of a specific drive in a college football game or the next scoring play. Additionally, proposition bets, both player and game-related, can be placed during a game with changing odds that reflect live action.
Tips for Successful Live Betting
Successful live betting requires a blend of knowledge, strategy, and quick decision-making. Here are some tips to help you succeed:
Have a thorough knowledge of the sport you are betting on.
Use reliable sportsbook platforms that offer live betting options.
Stay updated on news and events that could affect game outcomes.
Avoid emotional betting or favoritism and maintain a strategic approach. By following these tips, you can improve your chances of success in live betting.
Lastly, taking advantage of underdog opportunities in live betting and keeping an eye on NCAAF odds can be profitable, given that upsets are common in college football.
In conclusion, college football betting is a thrilling venture that requires a solid understanding of betting basics, the ability to analyze odds, and the implementation of successful betting strategies. It’s also about being savvy with your betting options, knowing key events, and leveraging live betting opportunities. By mastering these aspects, you can elevate your betting game and make the college football season an even more exhilarating experience.

If you want to be able to track bets or place new bets on the move, you need a reliable sportsbook app.
For the social college football fan, mobile sports betting is the way to go. It’s convenient and you can take it with you anywhere. That's why you must choose a sportsbook that has a strong mobile app.

BetWhale is one of the best NCAAF betting sites because of the quality service it offers members. The 24/7 support and reliable payment methods make users feel like they are more than safe enough to place bets on their favorite college teams.
In addition, considering the college football betting options on BetWhale, we found that prematch markets were diverse, covering heaps of different prop markets and more than enough futures as well. The live betting section was no slouch either, covering an array of markets. The college football odds were what set BetWhale apart, though, as we could continually find value in the NCAA betting markets on offer.

Moreover, we consider Bovada among the best legal college football betting sites because it offers an incredible number of both pre-match and live betting markets. You can place bets on everything from total rushing yards in a college football game to the touchdowns thrown by individual quarterbacks. In addition, the odds it has on these markets are competitive, and it also offers plenty of promos that you can use along with your college football bets.

Everygame is one of the best sites for beginners who are looking to bet on college football. This is because the sportsbook is easy to use. Moreover, the layout looks clean, and the UI is easy to understand, meaning you can easily find the college football matches you want to bet on.
From what we could tell, coming to the NCAAF betting markets at Everygame, the outright markets are probably the best part of the college football betting options here. We found outrights tied to matches and futures that were expansive. Outside of that, the live betting markets were diverse, too, which means you can take advantage of various in-game situations during the college football season.

Yes, betting on college football is legal in the USA, but it varies by state. After the Supreme Court’s 2018 decision to overturn PASPA , individual states can now decide whether to allow sports betting within their borders. As a result, many states have legalized sports betting, including college football, both online and in retail locations.
States like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan offer both online and retail betting options. Other states, like Arizona and Arkansas, to name a few, allow retail sports betting, but online sportsbooks have yet to be legalized. Alternatively, you can use offshore sports betting sites that operate legally across the world.
Understanding NCAA betting lines and odds is crucial for college football betting. They show potential winnings and indicate favorites and underdogs.
Understanding Odds : In college football betting, odds like Alabama -150 and Clemson +130 show the favorite and underdog. Here, betting $150 on Alabama can net you $100, while betting $100 on Clemson potentially gets you $130.
Value Betting : Finding favorable odds at top NFL betting sites (value betting) is vital to profitable betting. Betting on teams with underestimated chances, like Clemson in our example, can provide good value.
Odds Movements: The latest college football odds can change due to new information, such as injuries, adjusting each team’s perceived chances of winning.
Vig/Juice: Sportsbooks take a small fee ( vig or juice ) from each bet to make money. For example, odds of -110 mean the sportsbook takes $10 for every $100 bet.
Example: In a game between Ohio State and Michigan, Ohio State at -140 means betting more to win $100, while Michigan at +120 offers a higher payout for a smaller bet.
Types of College Football Bets at the Top NCAA Sportsbooks
Here are some of the types of markets that you can find on the best legal college football betting sites.
The moneyline bet is simply picking the team you think will win. If they win the game, you win your bet. It’s easy for beginners.
Bet on whether a team will win by more or less than a set number of points. For example, if Ohio State is -7 against Michigan, they must win by more than 7 points for your bet to win.
Bet on whether the total points scored in a game will be higher or lower than a set number. For instance, if the over/under is 50 points and you bet over, the teams need to score more than 50 points combined for you to win.
Prop bets are wagers on specific events within a game, such as how many touchdowns a player will throw or whether a team will score in the first quarter.
Combine multiple bets into one. All bets in the parlay must win for you to win a higher payout.
Bet on events happening later in the season, like which team will win a championship or which player will win an award.
You can place bets during a game as it’s being played, allowing you to react to how the game unfolds in real time.
Top crypto betting sites offer various payment methods to make depositing and withdrawing easy. Here are some popular options:
Cryptocurrencies : Fast and secure, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin allow quick deposits and withdrawals without needing to share much information.
eWallets : Services like PayPal, Skrill, and Neteller offer convenient and speedy transactions. They act as intermediaries, keeping your banking details private.
Traditional Methods : Credit and debit cards, as well as bank transfers, are widely accepted. These methods are familiar to most users but might take longer to process.
This is what your average sign-up process looks like when you create an account with one of the college football betting sites.
Step 1: Choose a reputable college football betting site with good reviews, secure payments, and diverse betting options.
Step 2: Sign up by clicking on the site’s sign-up button, filling in your name, email, and address, and creating a strong password.
Step 3: Verify your account via email by clicking on the verification link provided. Some sites may require additional verification, such as a photo ID.
Step 4: Make your first deposit by selecting your preferred payment method (cryptocurrency, eWallet, or traditional), entering the deposit amount, and following the instructions.
Step 5: When making your first deposit, claim your new user welcome bonus if offered. This bonus provides extra funds for betting.
Step 6: Place your bets by selecting your wagers, entering your bet amount, reviewing your bet slip for accuracy, and confirming your bets.
Betting on college football is easy with mobile apps and sites. These college football betting apps let you place bets, check odds, and follow games from your phone or tablet. The best apps are user-friendly, with straightforward navigation and fast loading times.
Many college football betting apps offer high-quality live streaming of NCAA games. This means you can watch the games and bet live, all in one place. The streams are usually in HD so that you won’t miss any action.
Here are a few useful tips for you to keep in mind when you use the best college football betting apps.
✅ Know the range of bets available : Understand different bet types like moneyline, point spread, and props.
✅ Evaluate each team : Consider strengths, weaknesses, and recent performances.

✅ Research and analyze game data, trends & head-to-head records : Look at past matchups and current statistics.

In some parts of the USA, college football bettors can’t bet on NCAA games involving local teams. For instance, you can’t wager on games featuring college teams from the states of New Jersey and New Hampshire in those respective states. Caesars also offers all major sports and bet types—including same game parlays that allow you to combine sides, totals, and prop bets from the same game in one parlay.
There isn't much not to like when it comes to the new Caesars Sportsbook. While it isn't my favorite user interface of all the sportsbook apps, it's easy to navigate and place bets.
Overall, Caesars Sportsbook is a phenomenal option when it comes to betting on college football. They have one of the best intro promos, great odds, regular odds boosts, and a decent user experience.

When it comes to college football, FanDuel regularly offers odds boosts on big games and other promotions that help you win more or earn bonus bets by betting on CFB.
FanDuel pioneered the “Same Game Parlay” and offers the smoothest and most complete process for betting them. With these, you can combine prop bets, totals, and sides from the same game in a single parlay. If you've ever seen screenshots of ridiculous parlays from a single game online, it was likely a Same Game Parlay from FanDuel.
Whether you are looking for a single sportsbook to use or want to add another book to your lineup of options, FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the best options currently available. There's a reason FanDuel dominates market share in the U.S. and we think you'll be very satisfied if you decide to go with them.

To start, all new BetMGM customers are eligible for a Second Chance Bet Up to $1,500. There is no BetMGM bonus code required to receive this—it's automatically applied to your account after you place the qualifying wager.
BetMGM also offers a wide variety of sports and bet types, generous promotions and odds boosts, competitive odds, and a good user experience.
Another thing that sets BetMGM apart is that it offers true same game parlays (called “One Game Parlays”). Like with FanDuel's Same Game Parlays, you can combine prop bets, totals, and/or sides from the same game in one parlay.
Of all the sportsbooks we've analyzed, BetMGM has the best customer reviews. On the Apple App Store, BetMGM has an average of 4.8 stars from over 87 thousand reviews.

BetRivers and SugarHouse are essentially the same sportsbook, they just operate in different states with different brand names. They rank as “best” or “above average” in every category we score.
BetRivers/SugarHouse offer a second chance bonus bet up to $500. If your first bet loses, you'll get a refund in the form of a bonus bet up to the limit. You have 30 days to use the bonus bet once you receive it.
BetRivers and SugarHouse regularly offers better odds than every other sportsbook—especially when it comes to college football. While other books have standard -110 odds, BetRivers/SugarHouse often offer -109 or -108, meaning you have to win fewer bets to be profitable.
Aside from odds, you'll find everything bettors come to expect in online sportsbooks these days with BetRivers/SugarHouse, including same game parlays, a variety of markets to choose from, a smooth user experience, and ongoing odds boosts and promotions.
On the downside, some customers have complained of bets taking a long time to settle. In addition, the sportsbooks don't offer team or player stats in the app/on the site—though you can usually find this info on other sites.

DraftKings Sportsbook is another amazing option when it comes to college football sports betting sites.
DraftKings offers competitive odds, generous promotions and odds boosts, a variety of sports to wager on and bet types (including Same Game Parlays), and great user experience on both the website and mobile app.
The intro promo provides good value ($1,000 if maxed out), but the 25x rollover requirement is a lot especially considering you only have 90 days to bet it. In order to take advantage of the full welcome bonus, you would need to deposit $5,000 then bet $25,000 over the first 90 days.
Like most other competitive online sportsbooks, DraftKings regularly offers odds boosts and ongoing promotions on college football—such as parlay insurance, ways to earn bonus bets, and more. Taking advantage of these is a great way to maximize your winnings.
Though it isn't quite our highest-rated sportsbook, DraftKings in undoubtedly one of the best options currently available and we think you'll be very satisfied if you go with them. Just be sure to read the fine print on the intro promo and bet the deposit match in time.

How We Rate College Football Betting Sites
Here at Odds Assist, we are committed to creating objective, transparent ratings to help you make the best decisions when it comes to which sportsbooks to use. We will continually update our Editorial Ratings over time as sportsbooks introduce new features, change promotions, etc.
Each sportsbook we review goes through our extensive rating process that evaluates thousands of data points in eight categories, including the following:
Category
Weight
Description
We rate each sportsbook relative to other sportsbooks in each category. Each is scored from 1 to 5 with each representing the following:
5 Stars: Best in category
4 Stars: Above-average
3 Stars: Average
2 Stars: Below-average
1 Star: Worst in category
Data for all sportsbooks were collected simultaneously to ensure fairness. For example, we only compared odds for the same games at the same times across all sportsbooks reviewed.

What to Look for in a College Football Betting Site
All of the best U.S sportsbooks offer a variety of betting markets for most college football teams . However, not all of them have competitive odds, generous promotions, fast and secure payment options, and many other things that we like to see in NCAA FB sportsbooks.
Here are some things to consider when choosing which sportsbook is best for you:
Legal and Licensed in Your State
Legality is extremely important. Only by playing in a regulated online sportsbook that has a stamp of approval from your state’s licensing jurisdiction can you be sure the odds are fair and that your payouts will actually be paid.
On top of that, only these sites are legal and sanctioned by the government, so if you opt for offshore bookmakers like Bovada or others, not only will your money and wins be guaranteed and kept safe, but you may also be breaking the law.
You can check out our state betting guides linked in the menu of our site to see the top legal online sportsbooks in each state.
Competitiveness of Odds
The standard odds for spreads and totals in college football is -110 at most sportsbooks (with the sum of each side being -220). If you notice your sportsbook offers worse odds (such as -115 on each side giving a sum of -230), you may want to look elsewhere.
While these small variations may not seem like a lot, over the long-run, shopping around for the best odds available can be the difference between being profitable and losing money.
You can compare this week's college football odds and lines here with our free tool.
Intro Promo for New Customers
Welcome bonuses for new customers are how sportsbooks attract players, and NCAA football bettors are often the primary target of these promos. You’ll often see betting offers including free bets, risk-free bets, and deposit bonuses that range from $100 to $5,000 in value.
In addition, the stated value of the intro bonus, it’s important to consider the type. No-deposit free bets are typically the best since they require you to put no money in, though these are rare and typically have much smaller values.
After that, deposit bonuses are preferable to risk-free bets since with the latter, you only get the free bet if your first bet loses and you still have a chance to lose the “risk-free” bet which could leave you out $1,000 or more.
Ongoing Promotions and Odds Boosts
It is a no-brainer that welcome deals attract players, but what keeps them playing at a site? That’s where ongoing promos and odds boosts come into play.
College football betting sites often will offer improved odds on particular events, as well as free bets and other incentives to keep you depositing and playing. Your job is to dissect these offers to see which are truly worth betting on. Just because there is an odds boost or promo means you should definitely take it.
User Experience on the App or Website
Another important thing to consider when choosing a sportsbook is how user-friendly the app and website are. Is it easy for you to find the game and bet types you are interested in? Does the app crash regularly?
While you can almost always download the app to check it out before signing up, you can also read our in-depth sportsbook reviews linked in the menu of our site to learn more about our experience with each.
Types of Wagers Offered
In addition to good betting odds, the number of betting markets is also crucial for CFB betting sites. You want to play on a site that offers spreads, moneyline, totals, and futures, at a minimum. After that, look for extensive game and player props for most games.
In addition, if you are interested in same game parlays—which allow you to combine sides, totals, and props from the same game in a single parlay—be sure to look for sportsbooks such as FanDuel, and DraftKings that offer them.
>> Read More: Sportsbooks that offer same game parlays
Live Betting Options
Live or in-play betting is the choice of many players these days and for a good reason. Being able to bet as the action takes place is exciting and the odds vary by the second. Browse for sites that allow you to bet live on all college football games for the ultimate betting experience.
Deposit/Withdrawal Options and Speed
You need a site that lets you move money into and from your account quickly and safely. The more payment methods the site offers, the better, especially if e-wallets, online banking, and other systems are included.
How to Bet on College Football Games
First, choose a legal sportsbook in your state (or a state that you're regularly in) and download the app or visit the website.
Register for an account. You'll have to provide your name, phone number, SSN, and other personal information. You may also be asked to upload a picture of your license or other ID to verify your identity.
Visit the banking section of the site/app and deposit money via one of the (often numerous) banking options.
Check out the promotions section of the site to see what the welcome bonus for new customers is. Be sure to read the fine print of the intro promo to make sure you follow the requirements.

Types of Bets You Can Make on College Football Games
Betting on college football is so popular because of the sheer number of games each week and the wide variety of markets available. Here are the types of bets you can make on most NCAA football games:
NCAA Football Spread Bets – The spread bet is a basic bet where you pick the winner of the game while factoring in a point spread that the oddsmakers have set. For example, Alabama -18.5 against Miami would mean that Alabama has to win by 19 points in order for your bet to win. Miami, on the other hand, would have to lose by less than 19 or win in order for Miami +18.5 to win. (Note: Read more about how to read betting odds here. )
NCAA Football Total Bets (Over/Under) – Total bets include wagering whether the total score of the game will be over or under a certain number. The sportsbooks give a margin, say 58.5 points, so you need to choose between betting the Over (59 or more combined points between the two teams) or the Under (58 or less combined points).
NCAA Football Moneyline Bets – Probably the simplest college football bet, moneyline betting includes choosing the outright winner of the game. Odds on moneyline bets usually aren't around -110 (like spreads and totals) because one team is usually favored.
NCAA Football Parlays – Parlays include joining two or more events into a single bet that you win only if each individual event wins. In exchange for the increased difficulty, you receive a higher payout.
NCAA Football Same Game Parlays – Made popular by FanDuel, same game parlays involve combining sides, totals, player props, and/or game props from the same game in a single parlay.
NCAA Football Teasers – Similar to parlays, NCAA football teasers include combining several straight bets into a single parlay but with the point spread or total adjusted in your favor. In college football, the most common teasers are 6, 7, and 10 points. So for example, if Alabama is -18.5 on the standard spread, you would get them at -12.5 on a 6-point teaser. In exchange for the decreased difficulty, you are given a lower payout on teasers.
NCAA Football Game Props – College football game props do not focus on the final score of the game but rather on things such as who will win the coin toss, who will have more turnovers, or the total number of offensive yards.
NCAA Football Player Props – These focus on an individual player’s performance or who will win between a matchup of two players. For example, you can bet on how many touchdowns a QB will throw or how many passing yards he will have, who will have more rushing yards between two running backs, or whether or not a player will score a TD.
NCAA Football Round-Robins – A round-robin bet is similar to a parlay except all of your individual selections will be combined into smaller parlays as well as the total parlay. For example, if you choose Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State to win straight up in a round-robin bet, you would typically have four total parlays: (1) All three teams together, (2) Alabama + Clemson, (3) Alabama + Ohio State, (4) Clemson + Ohio State. Each individual parlay in the round robin is considered its own bet so you don't have to win each in order to win some money.
NCAA Football Futures – College football futures bets let you place a wager on the outcome of a future event, such as the winner of the NCAA Championship or the Heisman Trophy Winner.
How to Make Money Betting on College Football
Betting on college football, like the NFL and other popular leagues and sports, comes with its risks. Winning is not guaranteed by any means and most people actually lose money.
Since college football is so popular and each team only plays a single game each, oddsmakers put a lot of time into pouring over data to find the fair lines for each. They have an entire week to get the pricing right; a big difference from a sport like baseball which has so many more games each season.
With that being said, it’s not impossible to turn the tides in your favor—especially on smaller market teams. You, too, can analyze stats and data, such as historical performance, line movements, and other trends that can help you figure out what to bet on.
Despite this, it's important to consider sports betting as a form of entertainment and only risk what you are comfortable with losing. You can learn more about betting responsibly in our Responsible Gambling Guide.
Here is what you need to know about making money betting on college football:
Percent of CFB Bets You Have to Win to Make Money
All sportsbooks charge a vig (sometimes called “juice”) on markets they offer. This is what they charge in order to take your bets and how they make money.
For example, when you bet $100 on a game with -110 odds (which is considered even money), you will only bring a $91 profit, or 91% return. The remaining 9% is that vig or their service fee for taking your bet in the first place.
You can use the odds to calculate the implied probability —or how probable a particular event is according to the odds. If you think the chance of a bet winning is higher than the implied probability according to the odds, then it may make sense to bet it.
Using the standard CFB spread and total line of -110, you can calculate the percentage of bets you have to win to break even. It comes out to 52.38%, and it is that 2.38% that makes it so hard to earn money betting.
While this might not seem like much, beating “Vegas” (aka oddsmakers) by this 2.38% or so is very difficult because of how much data and other resources they have for setting lines.
Tips for Betting on College Football
Here are several tips to help you improve your college football betting game:
Take advantage of the intro promo for new customers – Welcome sign-up deals in the form of deposit match bonuses, free bets, risk-free bets, and others are an excellent way to start betting on NCAA FB with a positive account balance.
Take advantage of odds boosts and other promotions – Odds boost and other ongoing promotions are great for both new and experienced bettors. These almost always increase the odds enough to take out the “juice” the sportsbooks charge, making the chances of you winning money over 50%.
Learn to manage your bankroll – Always control how much you spend on betting and never bet with money you can’t afford to lose. Most pros recommend betting around 1% to 5% of the total amount you have to bet on each wager. This can help make sure you don’t run out of money too fast or start spending more than you want to.
Shop around for the best lines and odds – More and more sportsbooks enter the U.S. market every month. Once you have made up your mind about the bet you want to place, compare the line and odds at the sportsbooks you are registered for to find where you can get the best price. We always recommend using at least three sportsbooks for this reason.
Use statistics to make your decisions – As we mentioned earlier, you can use detailed stats, injury reports, news, and other analytics to make your selections and improve the odds of winning. Don’t bet blindly! Use what’s available to you to make the best choices.
Select your games carefully – Don’t bet on every game just because you can. Look at stats and analyze games to find the ones that are actually worth risking your money on.
Don’t just bet on your favorite team – Most bettors have a team they root for, but betting on it all the time is not what smart players do. Leave emotions out of it and only bet them if it truly makes sense. If you tend to think your team will do better than they end up doing, it may make sense to just avoid betting on them altogether.
Don’t chase your losses – Chasing losses is when you try to make up for lost bets by betting more than originally planned. Chasing losses is a huge no-no. It often leads to incurring more losses, putting you in an even deeper hole. If you have a bad day, that’s ok. Take a break and come back when you’re ready again.

Meet your wallet's qb., college football betting odds & line - ncaaf betting.
Unlike betting lines, college football odds are a more straightforward way of determining which team will win. Analysts predict a winner in what’s known as a moneyline or ‘straight up’ bet. These are written out in college football odds spreads. OddsChecker provides easy-to-read odds grids so punters can compare odds offered by different sportsbooks.
In the US, college football betting odds are written with a plus (+) or a minus (-). They’re described in terms of a $100 bet for simplicity’s sake. The underdog is written with a plus (+) and the favorite with a minus (-).
College Football Moneyline Odds Explained
OddsChecker provides you with top college football odds from eleven trusted sportsbooks as well as our own professional handicappers. Analysts and handicappers make picks and set NCAAF odds by taking a close look at a team’s record, coaching history, draft picks, and other relevant data.
College football odds spreads are provided for a variety of bets, like moneyline betting (mentioned above) and totals bets. A moneyline bet simply predicts the winner of a game. A totals bet (or an over/under bet) is based on the total score of a finished game or at another stopping point, such as halftime.
Let’s take a look at two examples.
Moneyline odds for college football betting are written as:
Ohio State -600
Rutgers University +230
Here, Ohio State is the -600 favorite and Rutgers is the +230 underdog. Remember that American betting is often written in terms of a $100 bet, though $10 or other wager amounts are also common.
In a moneyline bet on this game, a punter would have to bet $600 on Ohio State to win $100 should the Buckeyes win. Meanwhile, a $100 bet placed on Rutgers would see a $230 payout should Ohio State lose.
Totals odds are given as:
Ohio State -110 O 16
Rutgers University -110 U 16
Here, the ‘O’ stands for Over and the ‘U’ stands for Under. Rather than betting on a winner, a punter bets on whether or not the total score will be over or under 16 points. This is another common way to bet on NCAA football odds.
Regardless of which side of the bet you choose, a $110 bet pays out $100. The missing $10 here is known as ‘the juice’, which is paid to bookmakers to keep them afloat.
College Football Point Spread Explained
The college football point spread may seem complex, but OddsChecker makes it easy for fans to get in on the action. We provide industry-leading NCAA football lines, which offer punters an unrivaled look at gameday analysis and predictions.
The point spread is the most popular way to bet on football. College football betting lines, mentioned above, are calculated by determining which team is superior and then providing a handicap to the underdog to make the wager as close to a 50/50 outcome as possible.
This handicap is written as points. These points require a favorite team to win by a certain amount of points and the underdog to not lose by that many points.
Let’s take a look at an example, moving to the SEC:
University of Alabama -16 -110
Ole Miss +16 -110
In this example of college football lines, a 16-point handicap has been provided to Ole Miss. The Crimson Tide needs to win by at least 16 points for a bet to pay out, while Ole Miss needs to not lose by at least 16 points for a wager placed on them to pay out.
NCAA football lines can also be expressed in percentages of winning probability rather than spread points. In this example, a +/- 16 spread indicates that the Crimson Tide have an 88.6% chance of winning, while Ole Miss has an 11.5% chance of winning.
How Are College Football Betting Lines Calculated?
NCAA college football betting lines are calculated by analysts at leading sportsbooks. Professionals take a close look at a team’s record, performance at-home and away, coaching talent, and other factors in order to determine both teams betting lines. By doing this, handicappers can determine which team is likely to win a game, as well as future events like the College Football Championship and bowl games. OddsChecker connects you with top point spreads form leading sportsbooks so you can wager knowing that you have the latest and most trusted predictions in NCAAF odds. Compare and contrast lines provided by our eleven trusted sportsbooks before placing your wager.
What Are Popular College Football Bets To Wager?
So far, we’ve covered moneyline and totals bets on college football odds spreads, as well as betting the spread in point spread bets. We’ll review these, then introduce prop betting.
Moneyline bets: Also known as a straight-up bet, moneylines determine which team either wins or loses. Draws are considered a ‘push’ bet, and all money wagered is returned to the punter.
Point spread bets: Also known as ‘betting the spread’ or, in the event of a win, ‘covering the spread’ or ‘beating the spread’, this is football’s most popular form of betting. Point spread bets are popular because they incorporate detailed analysis that allows punters to get the most out of their wager. Handicaps are provided to underdog teams to level out the wagering field and make college football betting lines more exciting.
Totals bets: Also known as an over/under bet, this wager predicts the total number of points at the end of a quarter, half-time, or, more commonly, the end of a game. Totals bets are also a popular live betting option, as totals lines will shift throughout the game.
Prop bets: Also known as a ‘proposition’ bet, this wager determines anything other than the outcome of a game. Prop bets can be diverse, ranging from who will take the Heisman Trophy to who which player will score the first touchdown of a game.

Can I Find The Latest Las Vegas College Football Odds Online?
College football Vegas odds are available online. Vegas odds differ slightly in terms of how they’re written. For example, odds are described in terms of ‘5 to 1’. This means that there are five chances to win and one chance to lose, which translates as 83.3% chance of winning. Prior to 2018, Nevada was the only state to provide legal sportsbooks, which meant Las Vegas college football odds were the country’s only way to wager. However, sports betting has expanded throughout many states, which means fans have options when it comes to betting on the NCAAF.

There are few video games met with more anticipation than College Football 25 . Over a decade of yearning met its catharsis with the game’s release this week — which leaves the only burning question: Is it all worth it? Is EA Sports’ return to college football the game fans deserve, or have fears of a phoned-in, re-skinned version of Madden been realized?
It’s unfair to keep that answer a secret any longer, so let’s go ahead and say it. Not only is College Football 25 the love letter to the sport that fans have been waiting for, but it’s also one of the greatest football games ever released. That statement comes with a weight of experiencing dating back to Madden 95 , through NFL 2K5 , and even the oft-forgotten NFL Quarterback Club series. Yes, this is the game you wanted — and yes, it’s spectacular.
A premium on pageantry
There are myriad differences between College Football 25 and Madden , but on its most superficial level everything just feels different, more special, and more considered. It’s clear that the development team behind the game is deeply aware of the importance of atmosphere and individuality, and every single team is just dripping in it.
No two games feel the same when playing the home team. Each school’s pre-game traditions, fight songs, and in-stadium atmosphere have been recreated to such a level that there are times it doesn’t even feel like the same game. There’s a chasm of difference between playing at home as a struggling, low-prestige team that has difficulty filling the stands — and fever-pitch Saturday night rivalry game in Ann Arbor.
In addition to obvious differences like fan density and volume, there are dozens of small pieces of nuance you notice over time. Fans in the stands of a Georgia game, for instance, are more likely to have painted faces, hold signs, even paint multi-fan messages on their stomachs — while a more buttoned-up football school like North Carolina has a tendency to have fans that skew older, predominantly wearing polos and khakis.
This extends to music on stadiums PAs as well. The location of the school, paired with the area’s demographics play a role in what you’ll hear on game day. LSU pipes a lot of hip hop into its stadium. West Virginia plays predominantly classic rock. If you hear it on game day there’s a good chance you’ll hear it in College Football 25 .
It’s tough to quantify exactly what all these differences do to improve the experience, but in totality it all just feels special . Even with schools I don’t personally know much about, the presentation heightens the experience. During my dynasty I was playing at Old Dominion, only to be met with a shot of the school’s color guard in full military uniform. Sure enough it’s a tradition at football games, and if something like that has been created for Old Dominion, you can extrapolate what has been done for larger, more popular schools.
Nobody is left behind in College Football 25. If you’re a school that has been included you’re going to get a completely individualized atmosphere and feel. No generic stadiums. No half-assed creations. Everything is bespoke, and beautiful.
A new kind of football
Are there similarities to the on-field actions of Madden ? Yes, but don’t for a second think this is a one-for-one copy. While there is shared DNA between some animations, plays, and schemes, that’s about as far as the comparisons go.
Playing College Football 25 at its heart is a faster-paced, higher scoring football game than most people are accustomed to. Big plays happen with regularity, especially when there’s a distinct talent mismatch between teams. Part of what makes this system work so well is the imperfection, something I lauded about the leaps Madden 25 made last year.
Missed blocks, failed assignments, blown coverage and botched tackles are far more prevalent in college ball than its pro cousin, and that all makes for unique experiences. There are no go-to plays that always work. Conversely there are plays that NEVER work in Madden , but are actually effective in College Football 25 . When was the last time you saw a draw play go for 10+ yards, or a counter run actually work? Both do in this game, and it completely revolutionizes how running the ball feels.
If you’re a person who loves the ground game, then this game is a godsend. Carrying the rock is essential to a good offense in College Football 25 , and with all the imperfections in play there’s a need to get solid, reliable yards through the running game. Blocking has been vastly overhauled where across dozens of games I’ve yet to see a missed block or assignment that makes zero sense, with wide receivers and tight ends doing their part to seal the edges or get out ahead and block downfield — rather than just stop and watch the play as we’ve become accustomed to.
This has a knock on effect where play action passing works better, trick plays are more impactful, and if you’ve established the run you will see it affect the rest of your play calling. Just like we see in the real game.
Passing has never been more exciting, or nerve-wracking. A critical 3rd-and-7 is no longer met with a rote, memorized play that can always pick up 10. If your No. 1 receiver isn’t a bonafide star player they can, and will run their route incorrectly, make a slow cut, or get jammed to the point their out of the play. It doesn’t happen with enough regularity to become a frustration, it’s just a known element of the game you need to scheme and work around to achieve success.
Play it your way
There’s never a shortage of things to do in College Football 25. In fact, turning it on is a constant case of decision paralysis. Do I want to experience a big rivalry game of a team I haven’t played? Keep working on my Dynasty, where the be recruiting decision is coming down to the wire for that dual-threat QB I’ve invested so much time in? What about my power running back in Road to Glory? Doesn’t anyone care about my anthropomorphized version of Bluey’s dad from the hit Disney kids show Bluey ?

Bandit Heeler is currently RB2 for Washington. Just thought I’d let you know.
What makes the experience of College Football 25 so great is the constant shifts in experience you’re able to have. This isn’t a case of simply jumping between variations of the same thing, but very unique experiences that have as much to do with what you do off the field, than on it.
Dynasty is a fully-realized college football seasonal experience. Recruiting is the heart of the non-football activity, and once you understand its systems it’s incredibly engaging. Every recruit has a chart of things that are important to them ranging from playing time, to personal brand, and distance to their home — all of which play a role in how you recruit. A 1.5 star prestige school can’t offer brand, so you’ll need to focus on other areas to recruit, and from there it’s almost a turn-based RPG of selecting the right moves at the right time to enter a recruit’s Top 8, then Top 5, and hopefully get a commitment.
These moves are all budgeted with hours, and using them wisely is a really fun puzzle to put together. You can up the pressure by having a recruit visit on the weekend of a tough game, knowing that a win or loss on the field won’t just effect standings, but your ability to land your target.
That same sort of budgeting and RPG experience is present in Road to Glory, which serves as the “be a pro” mode for the game. Here you’ll need to balance being a college athlete with keeping your grades up, socializing, building your brand, and training for the field — and it’s remarkably difficult to hit all those notes while earning coach trust and playing time as a result.
The differences between Dynasty and Road to Glory as so significant that they feel like different games, and that’s a great thing that keeps the came constantly fresh. The second you get frustrated with one, jump on over and work on something else. It creates a brilliant package that’s impossible to put down.
This is the game we wanted, and the one we deserve
College Football 25 is so far beyond a debut product it’s astonishing. If this is the launching off point for more then the future is in good hands. The game delivers on giving the sights, sounds, and feel of the sport in a way that’s addictive beyond all measure.
More than anything else , College Football 25 delivers on bringing fun back to football. It’s the biggest leap we’ve seen in football gaming in years — maybe even ever, and that makes it a must-own for anyone with even a passing interest in college football.
Now, if you’ll excuse me I need to try and have Bandit Heeler become the featured back on Washington’s playoff team.

College Football 25 Review in Progress
So far dynamic matches and stellar visuals can't help the feeling that this prospect was rushed to the field too soon..
About a week before College Football 25’s play-early-if-you-give-EA-more-money release, I found myself at a friend’s wedding in Texas, overhearing someone with plans to buy a brand new console just to be able to get this game. I knew the long-awaited return of an NCAA video game was going to be popular, but I didn’t realize it was going to be system-selling levels of enticing. I’ve thought about that guy a lot as I’ve played College Football 25 over the last week, and about how excited he was – I wonder if he’s bought it yet, and if he’s having a good time, because so far my own experience as a longtime Madden player has been… mixed. The on-field action and visuals are generally stellar, but the barebones modes, awful UI, lack of tutorials, and slew of other annoyances and poor design choices have made everything else about it a pretty joyless slog so far.
Let’s get the good stuff out of the way first: College Football 25’s presentation is light-years beyond what developer EA Orlando has been doing with Madden . You can see sweat on individual players, the lighting is exceptional, and everything pops visually in a way that Madden just doesn’t. There’s also just a lot more stuff to enjoy, from the unique intros for each team as they take the field to mascots dancing around when their school pulls off a big play. There’s even performances from cheerleaders, school-specific cheers, and live cuts to the crowd reacting to what’s happening in real time. College Football 25 captures a lot of the pageantry and tradition that makes college football unique, and that makes it feel unique, too. I hope some of this added focus on presentation will make it over to Madden in the next few years.
College Football 25 Sights and Sounds Deep Dive
The other major difference is that it just feels faster and a whole lot more fluid. Plays happen more quickly, there’s less delay between them, and players feel like they’re moving more nimbly, too. When real-life players make the transition from college to the NFL, you’ll often hear them talk about having to adapt to the faster speed of the NFL game – here, though, it’s the other way around, and it makes College Football 25 feel dynamic in a way that Madden doesn’t.
There are also a lot of nice little touches throughout. I like how selecting your favorite team (which you do by choosing their helmet, not a name from a list) decorates the main menu with photos of their mascot, stadium, and other cool, team-specific things like ticket stubs, or how the loading screens and on-field play art looks like they’ve been drawn by hand. College Football 25 has personality . Oh, and unlike Madden 24, there’s no menu lag. It’s the little things.
As far as modes go, though, things are a little barebones. You’ve got your standard Play Now feature for jumping into a quick game; Road to the College Football playoffs, which is an online ranked mode where you’ll pick a team and try to guide them to a National Championship; Road to Glory, which lets you create your own player and pilot them through their college career; Dynasty, where you’ll helm one of College Football 25’s 134 (!) teams as either a head coach or an offensive or defensive coordinator; Practice and Mini-Games modes; and finally, College Ultimate Team (CUT), the college version of Madden Ultimate Team, which is still a slot machine masquerading as a trading card game that will almost assuredly make EA hundreds of millions of dollars and eventually earn the ire of the player base as it gets more updates on a yearly basis than every other mode combined. Cynical? Maybe, but we’ve seen this movie before.
EA’s servers have been something of a mess since launch, so I haven’t really gotten to play much Dynasty yet – whenever I try to make a Dynasty league, it always fails to download the latest rosters from EA’s servers or sign my coach’s contract) – but I have messed around with the other modes, and so far, I’m pretty whelmed. I’ve spent the most time in Road to Glory, so let’s start there.
Which College Football 25 mode(s) are you going to spend the most time in?
Disappointingly, there are no high school games to play in Road to Glory as there were in NCAA Football 14 . Instead, you spawn your player from the ether, choose a position (you can play as a QB, HB, WR, MLB, or CB), and determine whether you want to start as a 5-star, 4-star, 3-star, or 2-star recruit. The better you are as a prospect, the sooner you’ll see the field, and the better you’ll play when you do, but starting off as a less desirable recruit is more challenging, and ultimately, more rewarding if you manage to make it to a starting position. (After all, everyone loves an underdog story.) I started as a 5-star QB named Joe Throw who got picked up by 5-star Michigan because I already work hard enough at my day job, thank you very much, and it’s been… not great.
Each week, you’ll allocate Rest Points to stats like Academics, Health, Training, Leadership, Brand, and so on. You only have so many, and sometimes you’ll get a text from a sponsor offering you an endorsement deal or from your academic advisor offering some extra study time, which will take up a good chunk of your weekly allotment. Spending points the right way is important because you have to maintain a certain GPA and don’t want to be so tired you open yourself up to injury. So far, however, it’s pretty basic resource management and the lack of any cutscenes means you’re mostly just navigating menus. Think of a somehow more barebones version of Madden’s already barebones Superstar mode, and you’re on the right track.
What’s really frustrating, though, is the on-field Road to Glory experience. As a quarterback, you’re only given one play call option each down, and you’’ll have to run that play unless you spend limited Play Change points to unlock two other choices. Earn more of your coach’s trust by playing well and spend your Rest Points wisely throughout the week, and you’ll get more plays to choose from. Makes sense, right? The issue is that even with maximum trust, you seemingly can’t audible, so if the plays you are given look like a bad fit against what the defense is showing you, there’s nothing you can do besides hot route your receivers on passing plays and hope it works out. On running plays? You’re out of luck, Jack.
And even if you spent the Play Change points, you’re still limited in what you can call, and sometimes it barely makes a difference anyway. If you don’t want a running play and spend a Play Change point, there’s no guarantee you won’t get two more running plays. Spending a point and getting what are essentially two more versions of the same play feels bad because you don’t earn more points as a game goes on. I get that this restriction is meant to simulate building your coach’s trust, and that’s all well and good, but at least let me have one or two pre-approved audibles. Give me something . Don’t get me wrong: Michigan is, as of now, undefeated; Joe Throw is almighty. But I’m not having that much fun winning.
College Ultimate Team is… Ultimate Team. The Challenges you have to do to progress are boring, and it’s designed to take annoyingly long so that even decent players start to think opening their wallets isn’t a bad idea. College Football 25’s real sin, however, is locking all of the tutorial content inside Ultimate Team. Madden’s excellent Skills Trainer, which will walk you through everything from basic gameplay to identifying and beating certain defensive coverages? Not here. Instead, it’s been replaced with Ultimate Team Challenges, and the change is as bad as it sounds. One early one put me inside the red zone and tasked me with throwing a lob pass. You know, the kind you throw on deep balls after your receiver beats their corner and is running free down the field. And because it’s Ultimate Team and not the Skills Trainer, you have to choose the right play from your playbook, and make the pass in a single try. Otherwise, you’re staring at the “Challenge Failed” message over and over and over again. Remember, this is meant to be a tutorial.
It’s hard not to be deeply cynical about this design choice. Surely EA Orlando could have taken the Skills Trainer, which has existed in Madden for several years, and put another version of it into College Football 25. The only reason to do it this way is to encourage new players to go into CUT – of course, they’d have to realize that the tutorials are in CUT in the first place, which is something College Football 25 doesn’t advertise at all. As someone who doesn’t play Ultimate Team beyond the review period for obvious reasons, I just assumed that there were no tutorials at all and EA simply wanted college football-loving folk who don’t regularly play Madden to suffer. In actuality, however, they want them to get hooked on CUT and spend lots and lots of money. I’m not sure which is worse.
And then there are things that just don’t make sense. Every CPU team I’ve played so far loves to run a no-huddle offense, but College Football 25 does not simulate the time between plays unless you turn on the accelerated clock option in the menus. Teams otherwise come to the line instantaneously, which, aside from being annoying and making everyone on your defense very tired very quickly, means games last far longer than they should. The mini-games, which are generally more fun and varied than Madden’s (though some, like WR Battle, are one-to-one recreations), have a scoring system so strict they are impossible to get gold medals on unless you play perfectly. Bafflingly, there’s also no option to restart a mini-game if you finish it and don’t like your score, as there is in Madden, so I’ve found myself picking easy ones like Option Attack and just running them over and over again to spend as little time with them as possible. If you want to restart a mini-game to try and hit a higher score after you’ve completed it, you have to close and reopen the entire game.
And while College Football 25’s visuals are generally wonderful, the UI is, to put it kindly, atrocious. Madden has an automated hat count, which will show you how many defenders are lined up in both sides of the box on running plays and whether or not you have an advantage in blockers on either side. It’s not there in College Football, so you’d better know how to do that yourself. (I hope you like playing the CUT tutorials!) The “previous play” arts showing you the last play the offense and defense ran are hidden unless you flick the right stick to bring up that menu, which isn’t immediately obvious. It’s hard to see how much stamina defensive linemen have because, unlike the bar used in Madden, stamina in College Football 25 is represented by small blue circles over their heads that are hard to see, especially if you’re zoomed out. There are no on-screen notifications telling you what type of pass you just threw, whether you landed a hit stick, whether that pick you just got was perfectly timed, or anything else.
Will's Favorite Football Games
God help you if you’d like to actually see what abilities your players have mid-match because the icons were made for ants. And while play arts look great on the field, the ones in your playbook are a step down from what recent Maddens have offered. Oh, and then there’s the genuinely embarrassing things, like certain schools having outdated logos – EA has publicly admitted to Stanford, Western Michigan, and Jacksonville State already – and certain player likenesses being inaccurate. I understand that College Football 25 is a massive undertaking, and EA hasn’t made a game like this in a long time, but the whole thing feels rushed, incomplete, and in a lot of ways, not up to par with Madden, much less the other sports games that Madden already wasn’t up to par with , which is basically all of them.
I still find myself thinking a lot about that guy I overheard at my friend’s wedding, a person who is buying a $500 console just to play this game. I wonder if he, as someone who doesn’t play a lot of video games, is having fun – because despite the NCAA’s wider appeal, so far it feels like anyone who doesn’t already know how to play EA’s football games is going to have a really bad time with College Football 25. Even as someone who plays way too much Madden, the stuff that’s not here is both baffling and infuriating. It’s barebones, sports poor UI design, has tutorials that range from “bad” to “non-existent,” and features a number of other frustrations that simply shouldn’t be here. Oh, and I really don’t appreciate seeing an Ultimate Team pop-up every time I exit every other game mode. I know it’s there, EA. We all do. I just don’t want to play it.
Maybe Dynasty will change things once the servers get sorted out and I can finally play it. Maybe that’s what makes everything click. I have a lot more to see and a lot more to play. The on-field game is fun! The presentation is excellent! But everything, and I do mean everything , surrounding those things makes me want to go lie down in a dark room for a few hours and think about the choices I’ve made to reach this moment. Maybe, by the time I have my final thoughts ready sometime next week, everything will click. But right now, EA College Football 25 feels like a college quarterback who left school for the NFL too soon, got drafted way higher than he should have because a team was desperate, started under intense scrutiny from a fanbase and an owner who are tired of losing all the time, and then flamed out of the league because he just wasn’t ready for prime time. You always wonder what might have been with a player like that. Sometimes, it’s better not to rush, and instead spend an extra year honing your skills. You’d think the publisher behind Madden, of all things, would understand that.
