Speech on Unity

Unity is like a big puzzle where every piece fits together perfectly. It’s about people or things working together as one. Imagine a team of players moving together to win a game. That’s unity.

When unity exists, we can achieve great things. Like building a tall tower, it’s not possible with just one brick. You need many, all working together. That’s the power of unity.

1-minute Speech on Unity

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I stand before you today, to speak on a concept that is as old as humanity itself, yet as relevant as ever – Unity. Unity signifies the state of being one, a whole. As individuals, we are like the drops of water, but together we form the vast ocean.

The strength of unity is beyond imagination. It has the power to withstand any storm or strife. Take, for example, the humble broom. A single stick can be easily broken but when they are combined, they become strong and unbreakable. This underlines the importance of unity.

In our society, unity plays a key role. Our varied cultures, traditions, and beliefs blend together, forming a beautiful mosaic of diversity. It is unity that binds us together, despite our differences. Unity in diversity is not just a phrase, but a potent tool that can bring about revolutionary changes in our society.

However, we must not forget that unity does not mean uniformity. We can be united in our objectives, in our vision for a better world, without losing our unique identities. Unity should celebrate diversity, not suppress it; it should foster individual growth, not stunt it.

In conclusion, it is unity that has made us what we are today. It is the guiding principle that helps us overcome adversities, strive for progress, and stand tall in the face of challenges. Let us remember, divided we fall, united we stand. Let unity be our strength and our guide as we journey forward, together, hand in hand.

2-minute Speech on Unity

Good Evening! Today, I am going to speak on a topic that holds immense importance in our lives, ‘Unity.’ Unity is not just a word, but it is a powerful concept that describes the state of being united or joined as a whole. It embodies the spirit of harmony and togetherness, undeterred by the differences of colour, religion, caste, or language.

Unity has been a paramount force since the beginning of our civilisation. The early humans, despite their primitive existence, recognised the strength in unity. It was their unity that helped them hunt, protect themselves from wild animals, and survive the harshness of their life. Their unity laid the foundation for human society, for they understood the simple yet profound truth that, “United we stand, divided we fall.”

In the context of a nation, unity is the adhesive that holds its people together. It is the shared sense of belonging, the common purpose that binds us, citizens, into one strong nation. Unity in diversity is a concept we, as Indians, are particularly proud of. Our country is marked by a myriad of cultures, languages, religions, and traditions. Yet, we stand united as one nation, celebrating our differences, displaying a beautiful mosaic of diverse elements bound together by our shared Indian identity.

However, unity is not restricted to the boundaries of a nation. It transcends national borders and encompasses the entire human race. In today’s globalised world, where challenges like climate change, terrorism, pandemics don’t discriminate between nations, our survival depends on our unity. It is only by working together, by pooling our resources and knowledge, that we can overcome these hurdles and usher in a better future.

Unity is not just about sharing common goals or objectives. It is about understanding, acceptance, and respect for our differences. It is about acknowledging that each one of us is unique, yet an integral part of the larger whole. It is about recognising that our diversity does not weaken us but strengthens us. For it is our diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills that enrich us, that enable us to meet any challenge, to overcome any obstacle.

In conclusion, it is crucial to remember that unity does not imply uniformity. It is not about conforming to a single way of thinking or a single way of being. It is about cherishing our individuality while acknowledging our interconnectedness. It is about maintaining our distinct identities while working towards common goals. Unity is about co-existing peacefully in a world marked by diversity. It is about forging connections that are rooted in mutual respect, understanding, and love.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let us strive for unity. Let us appreciate our differences, learn from them, and use them to forge stronger bonds. Let us remember that our strength lies in our unity, in standing together as one. For, as Aesop once said, “In unity, there is strength.”

Unity in Diversity

Unity in diversity is defined as the concept of showing unity without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation. It is used to show the unity between a group of individuals despite them being from different religions or cultures. India is a 5000 years old civilization and a land of rich diversity. Individuals from different religions live in peace. India is considered the best example of unity in diversity.

Below two speeches on unity in diversity are given, a long speech on unity in diversity in India and a short speech on unity in diversity. Students can refer to both these speeches to give an impactful speech about unity in diversity.

Long Speech on Unity In Diversity In India

Good morning everyone! I would like to give a speech on unity in diversity in India to celebrate the auspicious moments of Republic day.

India has a history of being the oldest civilization in the world which dates back to 5000 years. India is home to 1.7 billion people and almost 10,00,650 different languages are spoken. Some people follow different religions and cultural backgrounds and because of that India is considered a secular country. Despite the difference in caste, creed, and religion, Indians show a sense of unity among each other which could vary from celebrating each other’s festivals or singing the national anthem with pride. That is why India is a land that shows unity in diversity.

The term unity in diversity relates to the togetherness or integrity shown by people despite the presence of infinite diversity.

From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, there are different regions in India and each region shows different cultures and traditions. Unity in diversity in India is living proof that despite different religions, cultures, and languages people of India live together with love and peace.

Unity in diversity is a unique feature of our country that binds everyone together to maintain peace and brotherhood. The best example of unity in diversity was shown by our freedom fighters during their fight for independence against British rule. Unity in diversity played an important part in bringing unity among our freedom fighters as the group consisted of people from different religions. But they didn’t consider the part that there are people of different religions as all they wanted was freedom. So united together they made sure that we get independence.

Though there are different communities in India like Kannadigas, Malayalis, Maharashtrians, or Gujaratis, the fact that remains constant is that we have remained united despite the difference and divisions in caste or creed.

Yes, I do agree that there have been differences between Hindu and Muslim communities concerning their ideologies and rituals. But these differences are caused by the brainwashing that is done by a few politicians for their benefit. We can see that both Hindu and Muslims live together and have respect for each other’s beliefs. The Muslims send greeting cards and sweets to their Hindu friends whenever there is a major festival like Diwali and the same gesture is shown by Hindus during Eid. This alone is enough to describe the unity among the Hindus and the Muslims in India.

Unity in diversity is very important for our country as we know it’s very easy to divide people based on their beliefs, cultures, ideology, etc. But if we the people of India show unity despite all the differences it will in turn help in maintaining national integration, people can live and work together peacefully. If unity is shown by people, it will give us global recognition. Last but not least, unity in diversity will help in the growth and development of our country.

I would like to conclude my speech by saying that “United we are strong, divided we fall”. The concept of unity in diversity instructs that although we are from different castes, creeds, or races these variations cannot keep us divided and we should always be united for the growth of our country.

Short Speech on Unity In Diversity

Good morning everyone! Today, I am going to give a short speech on unity in diversity. India is considered to be the oldest civilization in the world and is home to 1.7 billion people. In India, 10,00,650 different languages are spoken and every year 30 different festivals are celebrated that is why India is called a secular country.

Despite the difference in caste, creed, and religion, Indians show a sense of unity among each other which could be celebrating each other’s festivals with joy or cheering for team India victory with enthusiasm. That is the reason India is said to be the land that shows  Unity in diversity.

The term unity in diversity relates to the togetherness or integrity shown by people despite the presence of infinite diversity. India is the birthplace of many religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism. Over the years many people migrated and settled in India which resulted in bringing more religions such as Islam, Christianity to our country. This is proof of the diversity that India has and despite different cultures and religions, the people of India live with each other with respect and gratitude.

Unity in diversity is very important for our country as we know it’s very easy to divide people based on their beliefs, cultures, ideology, etc. But if we the people of India show unity despite all the differences it will in turn help in maintaining national integration, people can live and work together peacefully. If unity is shown by people it will give us global recognition. Last but not least unity in diversity will help in the growth and development of our country.

I would like to conclude my speech by saying we all should remember that if we are “united we are strong and if divided we will fall”. The concept of unity helps us to realize that we are Indians first and only together as Indians, we can help in making our country great.

FAQs on Speech on Unity in Diversity

1. What does Unity in Diversity mean?

Unity refers to the concept of many parts or people coming together as one. This could be on a smaller scale of a few people coming together for a common cause, or it could be on a larger scale like different communities putting aside their differences and working together for the betterment of society.

Diversity refers to the natural and cultural differences between people. Diversity is a broad concept because human beings naturally have several differences based on factors like age, gender, cultural influences, religion, etc.

The concept of Unity in Diversity refers to the process of people coming together to work for a better society despite their individual differences. For example, it could mean different religions coming together to fight against discrimination.

2. How do speeches help in promoting unity in diversity?

When you take a look back at history, you will notice that many movements have one thing in common: all of them had eminent personalities as leaders and those leaders spread their message through the use of speeches.

By nature, speeches are meant to be impactful and emotional. They highlight the cause that is being advocated and create an emotional connection between the listeners and the cause. For example, when Mahatma Gandhi began promoting the Civil Disobedience Movement, he made many speeches in different places to highlight the need for a strong Quit India Movement.

Thus, speeches are one of the most common ways of promoting social causes like Unity in Diversity.

3. How to write a speech on unity in diversity?

To write a speech on Unity in Diversity, you need to understand the structure of a speech. Like most written works, every speech is divided into three parts – an introduction, body, and conclusion. Unlike other forms of writing, however, speeches are meant to be emotional and impactful. Statistics and numbers can be used to back up your message but they should not be the main focus of your speech.

For example, if you have figures that say that India has around a million different languages, instead of just presenting that as a fact, it should be made to back up a more emotional and impactful argument.

"India has close to a million different languages, proving our diversity in terms of language" – this sentence would be bland and boring. Instead, write something like, "India has existed for thousands of years and we have several major and minor religions and over a million languages. We have been conquered and exploited time and again throughout history. Yet, those rulers, those despots are gone, but Indians still stand strong!"

4. Where can I find more study resources for speech writing?

India is the only place where people of different religions, communities, and groups live together in peace. Our country is strong because of all the different kinds of people who live here. National Unity Day urges each of us to support unity in our everyday lives. Speech on National Unity Day – 5 Minute Speech (500 Words)

Good Morning! Respected Principal sir, director sir, teachers, chief guests, and my dear friends. I am Jyoti Rani Dhar and I study in class 10 th . For me, it is an honor and a huge pleasure to be standing here. Today, on this special occasion, I would like to deliver a short speech in front of everyone. I request you all to pardon my mistakes and correct me if I am wrong.

Today, on National Unity Day, we honor Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, who was one of the most important people in bringing our country together. Sardar Patel was an important lawyer and politician from India. From 1947 to 1950, he was India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and first Home Minister. He was one of the most significant figures in the country’s fight for freedom. Sardar Patel’s skill as a leader and his unshakable belief in unity were key factors in bringing together more than 500 princely states to form independent India. His intelligent ways of dealing and his strong will made it possible for us to live in a united and prosperous country today. In 2014, the Government of India decided that National Unity Day should be held every year on October 31 (birth anniversary of Sardar Patel). On National Unity Day, many events are held all over the nation. People pay respect to Sardar Patel by putting flowers on his statue. The government also puts on events like the oath-taking ceremony, the march past, and the “Run for Unity” marathon all over the country. In schools and colleges, many culture programmes are organised.

However, it is very important that we learn what National Unity Day is all about. It’s not just a day to remember our unity; it’s also a day to think about ourselves and our communities and bring back the spirit of unity. It tells us that we are stronger, more powerful, and able to reach great heights when we work together. On this day, we should try to get over the differences between us, whether they are based on religion, caste, language, or area. Let’s celebrate diversity and see it as a valuable tool that makes our society stronger. National Unity Day is a chance for everyone in India to celebrate the country’s many different cultures. It’s a day to show that we care about, understand, and value our fellow citizens. By celebrating our shared values, traditions, and history, we show that we are all, in the end, part of one big Indian family. On National Unity Day, let’s remember the great Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel by making a new promise to unity and peace. Let us pledge to put aside our differences and work together to make India a better place for present as well as future generations.

With these words, I would like to end my speech. Thanks a lot to everyone for listening me so patiently. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!

Good (—) to you all. My name is (—), and I am here today to speak about unity and the importance of unity. All of you must have heard about the power of unity and how “unity is strength.” You would have experienced how you can do things differently when you are united with others. When meeting life’s daily challenges, people always need people by their side. It is human nature.

Even the world’s greatest kings and rulers had an army by their side. “United we stand, divided we fall.” This is a moral that we learn from our very childhood. It has proven to be true throughout the ages. We, as humans, should learn to trust and depend on each other. Team building skills and interpersonal skills are major requirements today, especially in workplaces. When people work together as a team, there will be a work delegation that distributes the work and makes it easier for them to complete it.

Also, since it is a combination of different people with different mindsets and ideologies, there will be various creative options to choose from. Problem-solving becomes much easier when there is unity in a team.

In a society, people need to be unified to face their problems. Unless there is unity among people, there will never be peace. We have seen that when a social issue arises, one person alone will not be able to fight for justice. It is when many people come together that their voice is heard and appropriate actions are taken. People need to be there for each other to survive in this world. Build relations with people. Talk to them. Try to listen to their problems and show them your concern. If you see that someone is alone, go talk to them and try to include them in a group.

Loneliness is one of the main reasons people develop mental problems that may even lead to depression. When people of different personalities come together, there may be conflicts, but when they talk it out and solve them, a good bond will be formed, and people will be able to understand each other better.

The importance of quality should be made familiar to children as people form strong concept grounds in their childhood. When they attend playschools and kindergarten, they are made to play games that require them to work with their classmates. Even when people reach youth, they are given real-life situations in classrooms and made to work to work as a group to come up with ideas to solve them. In workplaces, they are given training for team building and given simulation exercises where they are asked to come up with solutions that the organization faces in their day-to-day activities.

We live in a country where people from various countries with different races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds reside together. We must be well equipped to live together in unity and harmony and be inclusive without any prejudices and discrimination.

Speech on Unity is Strength for Students 600 and 1000 Words

In this article, you will read Speech on Unity is Strength for students and children. We have included two speeches in 600 and 1000 words for school and college students.

Table of Contents

Unity is strength can refer to families, marriages, countries, communities, religions, and even classrooms at school. It is also to say that we are much stronger than being alone.

As you all know that all the citizens of the country unitedly fought to make our country independent. If there is no unity among all the citizens, then we are not free today, so Unity is essential for us and everyone.

Lets go the speech part-

Speech of Unity Is Strength (600 Words)

Good morning to all of you,

I am thankful to all of you for allowing me to speak on this special occasion today. Today we are all together and discussing it together.

Our five fingers together form a claw. The claw of the hand has creative power; it can be an artisan, a worker, a writer, a painter, a teacher , a soldier. The only failure comes when the power of the individual fingers is divided.

The development of our society is based on this spirit; our existence rests on this spirit. In ancient times, man did not live together; he lived like animals. And ever since it became a society with Unity, civilization developed. And our security increased, facilities increased.

As you are aware of all the TV and newspapers that people all over the world are victims of many kinds of violence. For example, this violence is domestic, religious, and even between countries. The main reason for this is the lack of Unity among the people; people quarrel with each other for their small benefit and are forgetting the power of Unity.

“Unity” means work in a unified way. The term is mostly used to refer to people and communities, united in the face of adversities and threats. It refers to 2 or more people working as a unit. Between people and societies, Unity plays an important role. Our country was not free for 200 years because of a lack of Unities in the past.

The British came to our country as traders, and then they ruled over us because of a lack of mutual Unity among the people of our country. All the citizens of our country unitedly fought for freedom and proved that Unity could bring success, and this is how we got our independence on August 15, 1947.

We should still live with Unity, we should not think that we are free now, so there is no need for Unity. We should stop all the conflicts in our country – based on location, religion, and color. If we do not live together, another country will start ruling over us again, and then we do not know how many years we have to remain slaves, maybe over 200 years.

Therefore, in the end, I would like to tell you again that there is Unity, strength in prestige in the organization. There are many stories to tell about this, such as pigeons and traps ‘old father and his five sons.

And “strength of unity” and “destruction in the division” when we are relying on a group, we should unite so that we can succeed. Being divided into a group, we never get to taste success.

Thank you, who listened carefully to my speech among all of you, I hope all of you will understand the Importance of its Unity and say to others as well.

Speech for Strength of Unity (1000 words)

Good morning to the principal, all teachers and students. First of all, I want to express my gratitude to all of you because they have given me such a great opportunity to present some of my words to all of you on this great occasion. I want to discuss a very important topic with you today.

That theme is “unity is power” in today’s people, I want to ask, is this just a saying? It has been seen from the beginning of humankind that whenever there is division, only destruction has taken place. I am sure you will understand the power of Unity because you are all mature, and if you understand this, then you should also understand that the quarrel is meaningless.

It only spoils society and relationships. We can never beat big trouble by remaining isolated. I want to understand this by giving you an example. There lived a poor old man in a village who had five boys. Those five brothers were always quarreling among themselves. One day that man’s health became terrible; he felt he is going to die now.

He called all his boys and made a wooden bundle of 5 sticks and gave them to his boys and asked the boys to break the bundle. One by one, all five boys tried, but no boy could break the bundle. Then he opened the bundle and gave 1 to 1 wood to his boys and said break it.

Everyone broke easily. The man then told his sons, anyone can break a stick easily; it is very easy to destroy one person. If you choose to remain separate after my death, anyone can take advantage of the situation of you and harm you. But if you all choose to stick together like this bundle of sticks, no one of your enemies can harm you.

After this, all his sons promised to live together for a lifetime. The moral of the story is “unity is strength” Unity is an important factor even within a family and our society. Family members, who live together and support each other, have a lasting relationship. It can solve each other’s problems in a valuable manner.

Napoleon, a French leader, believed that “there are only two forces that unite men – fear and interest.” However, today, the term interest is broadly used. People can b together because of the need of their spirit, which has nothing to do with common interests. They can also be together because of a shared history or past, as with the civilians.

of a country. In our society, Factors such as trust, engagement, understanding, and love help to maintain Unity among people.

Always good ideas inspire people; they will remain united and strong for it. The moment the group doesn’t have Unity, everything collapses. So please remember to stand tall against all difficulties. Please do not forget if we are not united, and we cannot taste success. It is very important to be together to taste success.

I think you heard this famous saying? “United We Stand Divided We Fall.”

Today, people living in 29 different states and seven different union territories in our country are with faith in brotherhood. Care, love, and harmony together give it a real essence of life. It is a unity that has become the basis of a prosperous, strong, and prosperous India in the country despite terrorism, corruption, and disorder.

People in India have a high affinity for work and spirituality, which makes relationships strong, and at the same time, people respect all religions equally. Today we have discussed here and found that Unity is supreme and omnipotent in every stage of life. And I would also like to say that no unity is possible in this world without Unity.

Unity is not only for our country, but an integral part of the entire world, and many issues are seen where a country is going through a problem, and the countries of the world are united to solve this problem. This can be possible if Unity is there. So we know Unity plays an important role in every aspect of everyone’s life.

No one but only Unity has the power to change the whole world. It is fully up to us we are all united. We are celebrating Independence Day in our country on August 15 every year, which is the greatest example of the strength of Unity.

It was not possible without the feeling of the power of Unity among the people, and Unity is one reason why our country is free today. All the people in the country unitedly fought for freedom and freed the country. This would never have been possible without Unity.

This is the correct time when we are united against all difficulties such as terrorism , riots, animal cruelty, murder, corruption, etc. All these problems can be eliminated from the root only if we are united against it.

With this, I want to end my speech and special thanks to our principle, teachers who supported this speech unconditionally. I would like to give a special thanks to all the people to gather here and make this event a success.

Thank you so much. Forgiving me this opportunity to address.

I hope you liked these speeches on Unity is Strength for students and children.

Long and Short Speech on Unity is Strength in English

Speech on unity is strength 1.

Good Morning to all my dear Students!

As I keep hearing stories of discord and clashes amongst the students of my class from other teachers, it becomes really embarrassing for me. Therefore, as your class teacher it becomes my responsibility to prevent you from doing so. The reason why I have taken this extra period of yours is to groom you on the practical front and teach you besides your school syllabus. Though initially I was very furious and thought to call the parents of each one of you and give everyone a tight thrashing, but later on I realized that these rising cases may be due to the negligence on my part and inability to devote enough time on you other than your studies.

So today I am here to deliver a speech on Unity is Strength. I am sure you all understand the importance of unity as you have become quite mature now. Don’t you? And, if you do then you should also understand that these fights and clashes are absolutely pointless as these only worsen the situation and spoil the beauty of any relationship. Thirdly, any outsider can take benefit from the fights and clashes taking place between two individuals. Haven’t you heard the story of an old farmer who had three sons?

It goes like this – there was an old farmer who was on the verge of death. He had three sons who used to quarrel a lot amongst themselves. One day he called all his sons and gave a stick to each one of them to break, every son managed to break the stick. Then, he gave a bundle of sticks to his eldest son and asked him to break it. He couldn’t do it and likewise the farmer gave the bundle to his remaining sons who also failed to break it.

Then he told his sons, ‘just like, anyone can easily break a single stick, it is also easy to destroy a single individual. So if you choose to live separately after my death, anyone would take advantage of your situation and harm you. But if you all choose to live together quite like this bundle of sticks, then none of your enemy will be able to harm you. After hearing this, all his sons promised to live together for the rest of their lives’. So the moral of the story is Unity is Strength.

This situation applies to you as well. If all my students will live in unity, then none would be able to point a finger on my class and take advantage of the situation. In fact, you all should live in harmony and if any situation of conflict arises try to resolve it peacefully. No fight can be big enough which cannot be resolved through discussions. Discussions prove really helpful because then you tend to find a solution to avoid such problems again and life becomes peaceful for everyone. Always remember that never become a laughing stock for others and always try to pacify the situation with non-violent means.

Now, I sincerely hope that each one of you would take my words seriously and try to implement it on your life as well.

Speech on Unity is Strength 2

Respected Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers and My Dear Fellow Students – Good Morning to one and all!

I, Swati Singh, student of Class-XI, have prepared a speech on “Unity is Strength”, which I would like to deliver today in front of you all. You must be wondering about the occasion behind this speech ceremony of today, but let me clear your doubts first. There is no occasion as such, but considering the increasing cases of violence and terrorism in our state and country at large, I had a great desire to address the subject called Unity is Strength and engage my fellow students in discussion. Moreover, we also come across many violent cases of dissension all around us and realizing that people these days are becoming really short-tempered and are losing out on ethical and moral values, it’s high time that we sit down and realize which direction we are heading towards.

Our country India is known to be a multicultural land where people from different religious, cultural and social background live in harmony. However, the irony of the situation is such that our very own country is replete with the rising incidents of communal violence, strife, terrorist activities, etc.

Every day in news we come across horrifying incidents of violent behavior, bloodbath where so many innocent people lose their lives. It’s high time we remind ourselves of the age-old maxim called Unity is Strength and stop unleashing violence on our motherland. After all, do we not know that “United we stand, divided we fall”?

Our country would never emerge as a stronger and developed nation unless its sad state of affairs get better and people understand that violence never solves any problem, but aggravates it. Besides, man is a social animal and cannot live in isolation. He/she would require the company of others to validate his/her existence. One man cannot do everything. He/she cannot handle multiple things at a time and so other work will have to be undertaken by him in support of others. For instance, if a teacher teaches students, then who would sow crops and feed people, who would stitch clothes, who would look after patients, who would protect our country’s borders, etc.

So it certainly calls for unity and team-work. It is not possible for a person to live without taking the help of other people. Hence, everyone must work in harmony and also give support as well as encouragement to each other. If people will continue to remain rigid and uncooperative, then the foundation of our society would crumble down and our nation will never be able to project itself as a strong nation at par with the powerful countries of the world. Unity is what gives power to each and every individual and helps in building a powerful nation; on the contrary situation of discord eats away a country’s well-being and makes it regressive.

Let’s sensitize ourselves on this serious issue and pledge to free our motherland from violent and barbaric acts of behavior.

Speech on Unity is Strength 3

Dear Society Members – Good Evening to all!

I warmly welcome you all to our society club house and extend thanks to everyone for organizing today’s event. Even though I have completed three years as a secretary of our Radhakrishna Society, it still feels that it all happened just a day before. I still have so much energy left in me to work more and more towards the development of our society and making it better with every passing day.

However, I cannot take the entire credit as all my society members have always been very much cooperative in all the affairs – whether it’s about organizing any function, timely deposit of society fund, meeting any situation of crisis, etc. I have always gained the support of everyone. These three years have been so eventful and easygoing that I can proudly say that out of all the societies in our neighborhood Radhakrishna Society is the best. Not because we have well-maintained our premises and organize various events year after year, but we have unity in our people and whenever a tested situation comes we all stand united as always. We have never given importance to disputes or conflicts over the unflinching relationship that we share with each other.

Therefore, considering today’s occasion I would like to deliver a speech on “Unity is Strength”. This proverb is quite self-explanatory, which means staying together is a source of strength. The proverb is of course universal and can be applied to any family, community or country at large. It implies that we are stronger if we remain united and can overcome any difficult situation.

The principle of unity harbors happiness and peace in both society and the nation as well as also teaches the lesson of forgiveness. In fact, this very term called ‘Unity’ best defines our society because we too live with oneness and harmony. Of course, there have been times when frictions arose in between us, but we managed to overcome such situations through discussions and willingness to understand each other’s perspective.

This age-old maxim goes back to the times when even civilization wasn’t born. Initially, man lived in isolation as savages. Gradually, families were formed and they realized the importance of living together and started forming societies and communities. However, the law of “Unity is Strength” requires every individual to live with oneness and unity and also having the sincerity to stand up for each other as and when the need arises. The situation of chaos arises if any person refuses to acknowledge or give respect to other person’s individuality. For instance, if in a family, any one member turns rebellious, it spoils the whole environment within that house. Similarly, in a society or nation, if any group of people turns hostile, then the downfall of that society cannot be prevented.

Tolerance, feeling of sacrifice, love, compassion, affection, humility, pity are the pillars of a society and if any pillar shakes then the entire foundation of a society shakes. So it becomes the responsibility of each and every individual living in that society to not let these pillars shake and ensure happiness as well as peace everywhere. So let’s applaud ourselves first of having the ability to knit our society well and never let it go astray and then take a vow to continue harboring the feeling of love and oneness in our surroundings and set an example for others.

Speech on Unity is Strength 4

Good Evening Friends – A warm welcome to everybody at my house party!

I am extremely happy at this moment and cannot hide my happiness as we all are meeting after a very long time. Even though we always remain in touch over the phone and catch up with each other in a scattered form, but not as an entire group. Hence, today I am so glad that we get to meet each other as a group under one roof after many-many years.

Our friendship has always been very special and our group used to be the object of envy not only for our classmates, but for the entire college too. Despite the fact that there were other big groups, but it’s only our group of seven people that always used to attract maximum number of eyeballs. Am I not right guys? During our college days, the way we loved each other, we also fought with each other with equal intensity, but never drew apart. We continued to remain united even at the worse possible scenario and this is the only reason why we are still together after having finished our college long five years back.

You must be wondering why am I giving a speech on togetherness! We may not realize this, but let me tell you friends that it’s one of the biggest strengths of any relationship. We all know that “Unity is Strength” and any civilization can face a steep decline if its people do not stand united. Hence, we should realize the major strength of our relationship and from where it draws its source of life, i.e. Unity or our willingness to remain together under any compelling circumstances, so that we can cherish it for our lifetime.

In fact, after having gained enough exposure of the corporate sector or the outside world for that matter, I have come to value our friendship even more and if we could become an example for others and spread the message of unity and oneness across, then the world would become a haven in itself. No matter where we go, if we have this quality in ourselves to remain united with our family and loved ones, we should then always try to implant this quality in the humanity at large.

After witnessing the rising incidents of violence, murder, road rage, etc; my consciousness has been shaken to the core. Other than these horrifying incidents, on a day to day basis, I find people overtly manipulative, shrewd and hypocritical, who can harm the other person for their selfish motives. It is so unfortunate that our country which used to be an ideal epitome of “Unity in Diversity” is experiencing nerve wrecking cases of blood bath and man slaughter. It’s high time that we teach ourselves the value of compassion, love, humility and tolerance and understand that conflict or wars only destroys and never mends things.

It’s only by remaining united that we can understand its importance and prevent our society from falling into a deep abyss from which there will be no escape. I hope our friendship just grows stronger and stronger with time and we also continue to spread the message of unity and togetherness.

Speech on Unity is Strength 5

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen! I really appreciate your presence and also feel honored to given a chance to speak on the social awareness issue of “Unity is Strength”. We all must have heard this proverb, whether at schools, colleges or while reading a book or even during general debates. I remember few kindergarten stories told by my teachers based on this proverb. Kindly allow me to have the pleasure of speaking with you all about the same, reiterating the meaning of the phrase- “Unity is Strength” and its value in different aspects of life.

The simplest explanation of the proverb- “Unity is strength” is- staying together provides strength. It relates to family, friendship, marriage, communities or even a nation. A family that stays united is able to fight back against adversities and regain peace and harmony. Not only families, but even communities those stay together and united are better able to fight back against external threats; protecting their freedom and dignity.

The same goes on for even nations. A nation, whose people are united; is progressive and able to resist external invasions or even internal threats. ‘India’ would be a good example to state in this regard. India shares its border with seven neighboring countries, and has successfully fought back excursion attempts from time to time. It has been possible only because the people of India stayed united and still remain united, despite their demographic differences of caste creed and religion.

History has taught us that we had lost bitterly to our opponents, whenever we compromised on our unity. Invasions of Mughal from Middle East Asia and also the British East India Company were only made possible through our internal strife or conflicts. Had we remained united, we wouldn’t have faced centuries of oppressions and barbarism.

But, we quickly learned the lesson and fought together against the oppressors, sending them back and successfully regaining our freedom and sovereignty. Since then we have stayed united and therefore we also have stayed free.

Looking around us, we will come across many other beautiful examples those prove that there is strength in unity. To state few- a single stick is easier to break than a bunch, a rope that could sustains your own weight is made up of very thin strands of fiber, braided together. Alone these fibers wouldn’t even sustain a little pebble’s weight.

Even the animals understand the importance of unity and that unity manifests strength. Buffalos often organize themselves like a band of soldiers to protect their young ones or one of their own, from predators. Somehow they have the wisdom to understand the power of unity.

A lone grasshopper is not powerful at all. But when they gather in huge numbers, they become formidable! Somehow, they too understand the wisdom of unity and the strength that it provides.

There are many creatures like bees, ants, wasps etc those portray the essentiality of unity for the survival of a species. I don’t want to make the speech boring for you; therefore, I will stop stating examples and turn to conclude my speech.

But, before I conclude I request you all to stay united; wherever you are, in whatever community, in your office or family- just stay together. That doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be a political leader uniting people from different religions, cultures etc. No! Even if you are the guy next door, you can do that in your own capacity, by staying together with your family and friends in ups and downs of life.

With this I conclude my speech on “Unity is Strength” with the hope that I was able to ignite the passion for unity in the hearts of you all; making you stronger.

You all have been such a wonderful audience! Thank You!

Besides, the proverb “Unity is strength” is more than just that. Because our history is filled with incidents where we have achieved things that we weren’t able to achieve individually. Also, to stand up against anything we need strength which comes with unity.

What we can learn?

We can learn a lot of things from unity as it is easier to co-operate with each other to meet life’s daily challenges. It is important to realize modern world challenges that we face today are quite different from those which our ancestors faced.

Today we stand on the shoulders of our descendants who suffered to improve ways of our life. Besides, we still struggle to improve the quality of life of humankind.

The earliest example of human unity is Mesopotamia and it is the earliest developments of the Neolithic Revolution. Why we need Unity?

Because we cannot exist in isolation. We are humans we need to learn and trust and depend upon others. Furthermore, we can overcome some of the challenges that we face today by being united against them.

We need to think seriously about this because due to technology we are isolating ourselves from the outside world and people around us. Tell me when was the last time that you have ever taken part in any team building activity or even attend a workshop?

Although we all have a busy life regardless of that it’s a good idea to develop team-building skills so that in times of need we can stand together rather than standing apart.

Team building skill is important because it helps us build relationships with people and build trust with those who in turn trust us so that we can remain united at times of extreme challenges and difficulty.

Besides, for students, it is an adult’s duty to show and teach them how to forge bonds in the name of unity so they can face and conquer challenges. Also, there are workshops that teach them how to build unity.

Moreover, as a society, our overall survival depends on all of us coming together to address various issues. It helps society to evolve into something better. In addition, we can teach children with some of these important lessons so that can understand the value of unity and why there is strength in unity.

How to reach Unity?

There are many games out there that teach children unity like Lego. As in the future, these games help them put their skills to good use. In addition, we all are intricately interlinked with each other that’s why it is easy for us to build strong bonds and relationships within a short space of time.

E.g. During your morning walk you see many familiar faces to those you have waved to the other day. After that, you talk to each other and find each other interesting and develop a long-lasting relationship with them.

To conclude, Unity is a strength because it helps us in a lot of ways. It helps us to make a new trustful relationship with people. Every relation that you form can only help to serve you to overcome the challenges you face in life.

English Summary

Short Speech on Unity in Diversity in English

Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends.

Good morning to all of you.

Today I am going to speak on the topic- Unity in diversity.

The word unity can be defined as a state of being united or joined. Diversity means difference. Hence, unity in diversity means the state of being united despite the differences.

India is a perfect example of unity in diversity. Our countrymen are from diverse backgrounds such as different religions, states, cultures, languages, etc. Still, we call ourselves Indians. We have a common identity.

There are various advantages of unity in diversity. When there is unity in diversity, it means there are people with certain differences. Such differences give exposure. People will interact and respect different opinions.

Unity in diversity helps in solving social problems and promotes a peaceful living. In this case, people know each other and understand each other’s problems. Hence, solutions are given as per the diversity. Riots and disturbances minimize in such situations as people respect each other.

Unity in diversity also promotes cooperation as people have something common. For example, our freedom fighters were from different cultures and backgrounds. They fought together for a common goal and that was India’s independence.

This concept of unity in diversity is very important for the progress of human society. We all are unique creatures but there is always a common thing that exists amongst us and that is we all are humans. If we work together in unity, we can bring positive changes in society.

India is a perfect example of achieving growth with unity in diversity. It is a country where the biggest ground for diversity is language. It has around 22 languages. But any kind of difference never became a hindrance to the development of the country. This is clearly visible when we compare today’s development with the development at the time of independence.

In short, it is integral for the overall development of society. No country with a diverse culture can survive without unity in diversity.

Thank you all for listening to me.

Sunshine Private Hospital in Melbourne's west enters voluntary administration after 14 months of operation

Sunshine Private Hospital

The company behind Sunshine Private Hospital in Melbourne's west has entered voluntary administration, forcing hospital management to cancel surgeries and move patients to other hospitals.

In a statement from Wexted Advisors, administrators said funding to continue to operate the hospital was not available, leading to administrators winding down operations.

"The administrators have commenced working with management to cancel day surgery operations, notify the Victorian Department of Health, and relocate patients to other hospitals," the statement said.

"Limited staff have been retained to assist with patient care and oversee an orderly wind down of hospital operations over the next few days."

The 51-bed hospital was officially opened by St Albans MP Natalie Suleyman in March 2023 and was advertised as Australia’s first fully electric private hospital.

In a statement, the Department of Health and Aged Care said the decision to close was ultimately a matter for the company.

"The Australian Government is unable to intervene in this decision. Patients, carers and their families are encouraged to speak with their doctors and the operators of the hospital," a department spokesperson said.

Hospital staff given less than a day's notice of closure

Fertility specialist Gareth Weston, who worked at Sunshine Private Hospital, said staff were given very little notice ahead of the announcement.

"We got about 12 hours' notice," Dr Weston told ABC Melbourne radio.

"I can't really comment about the reasons behind the decision by the hospital owners to close in such a dramatic and rapid way. It certainly wasn't convenient or desirable for us or for our patients."

Dr Weston said there was enough capacity across the system to transfer IVF patients to other hospitals to continue their treatment.

He said he believed the closure had nothing to do with the quality of the facilities or the care provided, but rather it was financially driven.

"It's a business decision based on the fact they were not able to generate profit at the site," Dr Weston said.

"I think that when you're looking at opening a private hospital in a relatively underprivileged part of Melbourne, you probably want to do your due diligence and scale up slowly."

Sunshine Private Hospital

Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation secretary Lisa Fitzpatrick questioned the closure of the hospital and said support would be offered for the union's members.

"At a time when private health insurance companies are making record profits we'd like to know why they cannot keep their hospital doors open," Ms Fitzpatrick said.

"This will be a distressing and uncertain time for our members. We'll be organising a meeting as soon as possible with our members and the administrators. We will support our members through every step of this process."

The hospital was operated by Unitas Healthcare — a Melbourne-based healthcare company that was to be its major tenant under a 30-year lease.

The $140 million building is owned by Australian Unity, which said the other businesses inside the complex were open and continued to see patients.

"Sunshine Private Hospital is one tenant in the multi-tenanted Sunshine Private Health hub—the other tenants in the building remain open and seeing patients, as the voluntary administration progresses," an Australian Unity spokesperson said.

People are using AI music generators to create hateful songs

A robot reading music

Malicious actors are abusing generative AI music tools to create homophobic, racist, and propagandic songs — and publishing guides instructing others how to do so.

According to ActiveFence , a service for managing trust and safety operations on online platforms, there’s been a spike in chatter within “hate speech-related” communities since March about ways to misuse AI music creation tools to write offensive songs targeting minority groups. The AI-generated songs being shared in these forums and discussion boards aim to incite hatred toward ethnic, gender, racial, and religious cohorts, say ActiveFence researchers in a report, while celebrating acts of martyrdom, self-harm, and terrorism.

Hateful and harmful songs are hardly a new phenomenon. But the fear is that, with the advent of easy-to-use free music-generating tools, they’ll be made at scale by people who previously didn’t have the means or know-how — just as image, voice, video and text generators have hastened the spread of misinformation , disinformation , and hate speech .

“These are trends that are intensifying as more users are learning how to generate these songs and share them with others,” an ActiveFence spokesperson told TechCrunch. “Threat actors are quickly identifying specific vulnerabilities to abuse these platforms in different ways and generate malicious content.”

Creating “hate” songs

Generative AI music tools like Udio and Suno let users add custom lyrics to generated songs. Safeguards on the platforms filter out common slurs and pejoratives, but users have figured out workarounds, according to ActiveFence.

In one example cited in the report, users in white supremacist forums shared phonetic spellings of minorities and offensive terms, such as “jooz” instead of “Jews” and “say tan” instead of “Satan,” that they used to bypass content filters. Some users suggested altering spacings and spellings when referring to acts of violence, like replacing “my rape” with “mire ape.”

TechCrunch tested several of these workarounds on Udio and Suno, two of the more popular tools for creating and sharing AI-generated music. Suno let all of them through, while Udio blocked some — but not all — of the offensive homophones.

Reached via email, a Udio spokesperson told TechCrunch that the company prohibits the use of its platform for hate speech. Suno didn’t respond to our request for comment.

In the communities it canvassed, ActiveFence found links to AI-generated songs parroting conspiracy theories about Jewish people and advocating for their mass murder; songs containing slogans associated with the terrorist groups ISIS and Al-Qaeda; and songs glorifying sexual violence against women.

Impact of song

ActiveFence makes the case that songs — as opposed to, say, text — carry emotional heft that make them an especially potent force for hate groups and political warfare . The firm points to Rock Against Communism, the series of white power rock concerts in the U.K. in the late ’70s and early ’80s that spawned subgenres of antisemitic and racist “ hatecore ” music.

“AI makes harmful content more appealing — think of someone preaching a harmful narrative about a certain population and then imagine someone creating a rhyming song that makes it easy for everyone to sing and remember,” the ActiveFence spokesperson said. “They reinforce group solidarity, indoctrinate peripheral group members and are also used to shock and offend unaffiliated internet users.”

ActiveFence is calling on music generation platforms to implement prevention tools and conduct more extensive safety evaluations. “Red teaming might potentially surface some of these vulnerabilities and can be done by simulating the behavior of threat actors,” said the spokesperson. “Better moderation of the input and output might also be useful in this case, as it will allow the platforms to block content before it is being shared with the user.”

But fixes could prove fleeting as users uncover new moderation-defeating methods. Some of the AI-generated terrorist propaganda songs ActiveFence identified, for example, were created using Arabic-language euphemisms and transliterations — euphemisms the music generators didn’t detect, presumably because their filters aren’t strong in Arabic.

AI-generated hateful music is poised to spread far and wide if it follows in the footsteps of other AI-generated media. Wired documented earlier this year how an AI-manipulated clip of Adolf Hitler racked up more than 15 million views on X after being shared by a far-right conspiracy influencer.

Among other experts, a UN advisory body has expressed concerns that racist, antisemitic, Islamophobic and xenophobic content could be supercharged by generative AI.

“Generative AI services enable users who lack resources or creative and technical skills to build engaging content and spread ideas that can compete for attention in the global market of ideas,” the spokesperson said. “And threat actors, having discovered the creative potential offered by these new services, are working to bypass moderation and avoid being detected — and they have been successful.”

Speech on Unity

The topic unity has always been of great importance, especially when it is to be addressed in relation with the students. The need to understand unity and its various uses, arises everywhere whether professionally or personally or even in the families. Moreover, teachers frequently assign their students to prepare a speech on unity to let them learn about what role it plays in our day to day lives. We give you both short speeches on unity as well as long speeches on unity. The content that we provide is easy to understand and can help students to realize the importance of unity with the help of a number of examples that are provided in the speeches. We take pride in saying that our content can turn out to be a good reference point for all the students.

Unity Speech

Speech on unity 1.

Warm Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen!

I, Rajesh from Class 10, stand here to deliver a speech today. After listening to all my fellow classmates, I will now with the permission of all the staff members would like to speak on the most essential element of human existence, that is Unity.

A famous saying by Franklin D. Roosevelt goes like “The point in history at which we stand is full of promises and danger. The world will either move forward towards unity and widely shared prosperity or it will move apart”. The saying has always proved to be right as whenever there has been any flinch in unity, the world has observed a lot of terror and instability.

People living in India are from various castes, religion and beliefs; however they live in unity and prove the fact that unity in diversity. Unity focuses on the existence of mutual peace, love harmony, etc despite having differences in so many ways like caste, class, religion, etc. With regard to the Indian religions, its range never ends. It is the place of the reunion of various languages and religions. People from the entire world with distinctive customs are found living in our country in a very peaceful manner. Here Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus, Jews, Christians, Buddhist, Jains and Parsees live with love and peace with one another. All of them observe religious festivals with great zeal and enthusiasm.

When there is harmony, there is more strength in views, better communication and better understanding. The freedom struggle of Indians right from the Britishers encroachment on our land to the day when India celebrated its first independence day would not have been possible without the combined effort of all the people irrespective of different religious or cultural background. They were just driven by a single agenda and that is to win back India’s freedom. This is why the freedom struggle of India is a great example of unity in diversity.

People living in 29 different states and 7 different Union territories are bound together by one faith of brotherhood. Living together with bond, care, love and harmony provides the real essence of life. It is unity which has become the cornerstone of prosperous, strong and happy India even after a lot of terrorism, corruption and commotion countrywide. People hold karma and spirituality in high importance which deepens the bond. People respect all the religions equally. The unity not only helps people morally, but it is also a great paradigm for other countries which attract a lot of tourists to a large extent.

For instance, a family symbolizes bonding, harmony and oneness, they live together under same roof, they share a very strong bond, they even share their woes and sorrows with each other and this is the basic strength of unity. The importance of unity can never be undermined. A few drops of water make the mighty ocean and it makes the basis of unity.

From what we have discussed in our conversation today, it is found that the unity reigns and sways supreme in each and every walk of life. No achievement in this world would be possible without unity.

Speech on Unity 2

Respected Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers and My Dear Fellow Students!

I am Sakshi from class 9 th , Section-A and your host for today. Today, we all have gathered here on this year’s annual function and the management committee has decided not to conduct classes as a special treatment for the students for putting their best efforts towards building the integrity of our school. Today, I would like to speak on the topic called Unity.

Unity is defined as a quality in people where they can work in groups whether big or small for the combined interest of all and without working just for the sole interest of his/her own. It is an emotion of oneness, togetherness, harmony, for a single and common goal.

Strength, pragmatically speaking, stresses on unity, and every time people act in harmony and unison with one another, their fortitude increases hundred-fold. The famous fable of the farmer and his cantankerous sons will illustrate my ideas very vividly. The farmer asked his dogmatic sons to break a bundle of sticks, and the sons failed. Later he asked them to break each stick separately and they could all break the sticks without putting any extra effort. The father thus drove home to teach them significant lesson that united they stood and divided they fall. So, it is self- evident that unity plays very important role in every phase of human life whereas hatred and standing separate is a loophole in unity which leads us to rack and ruin.

Unity also provides equal rights for all. Standing together boosts morale of people at several places to include workplaces, personal lives and various organisations. It helps in enhancing relationships and stresses on teamwork thus improving performance, quality of work done, and healthy lifestyle. It also improves healthy human relationship and protects equal human rights for all.

Unity in diversity in India specifically provides source of tourism. People from diverse customs, origin, lifestyle, religions and festivals attract more visitors and tourists from other countries of the world. Unity gives boost to the sense of national unity amongst the people even being diverse in almost all the aspects. It respects the value of rich heritage of a country, strengthens and enriches the cultural heritage of the same.

The society is the basic unit of nation, and when there is unity in the organisation of a well organised society, it will without any doubt contribute to the development of the nation which is the ultimate goal. Globally, a number of problems are raising their heads up and there is needed to be united in a method to handle and tackle these crises and at specific levels. It is essential for various nations to be united and together face this situation. It is the ability of any living being which exists in this cosmos.

Power of unity is a great quality in itself and comes with tremendous advantages. For instance, every human being can lead a secure existence till the time he/she is living in unison. On the other hand, when they are alone they can be easily deceived and overpowered. Thus, we all should follow the basic rule of being united so that no power can ever break us apart and we can strive towards development.

Now, please allow me to conclude my speech and I also request everyone to feel free to ask questions, if they have any.

Speech on Unity 3

A Very Good Morning Respected Principal, Teachers and My Dear Friends!

Today we all are here for the seminar organized by our school for teaching us the importance of unity and team work in our academic and personal life. We all are already aware of the role that unity plays in a team, family, company, country etc. Without unity, existence of life would not have been possible in this world.

Unity is a key to success for any team. If we have to work with other people, then it becomes quite important to cooperate with them because every person has a different thinking and a different view towards every situation. However, it is a bit difficult to live with unity with different people. There are many examples in this world where unity is maintained and where unity is endangered. So, let us take an example where both the cases exist.

As in India, we get to see a huge diversity in religions, castes, languages etc all over the country. Here, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Christians etc lives together with unity. In such a country like India, it becomes quite difficult to maintain unity among people because People belonging to different cultures and religions have the different ideologies. As of course, when two people of different ideologies come together then there will be a clash of different thinking, believes and ideas and hence there will be a danger for the existence of unity on this land. But still, our country is capable of maintaining peace among the people and this is only possible in the existence of unity.

We celebrate Independence Day every year in our country on 15 th August that is the biggest example of the strength of unity of all time. It would not have been possible without the power and the spirit of unity among people. Unity is the main reason for why our country is able to retain freedom in this world. Unlike this, there are still many places where unity does not exist in the country. We get to hear many news related to murders, rapes, robbery, etc daily. All these things are not in the favor of unity. All these crimes happens due the lack of security and as well as unity among people because most of the people do not take interest in helping others where these crimes takes place.

We all students are the future of this country and we have to understand the importance of unity in our life. Unity is the reason for the existence of brotherhood, fraternity and care that we have towards other people. We can also learn lessons of unity from animals too. They exist in this world due to their unity. Having unity is essential for the survival.

On this note, I would like to conclude my speech and extend special thanks to our Principal Ma’am for organizing this event and providing us the opportunity for realizing the importance of unity in this world and also to all of you for being so patient and for paying attention towards my words.

Thank you and I wish you all a great day ahead!

Speech on Unity 4

A Very Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen!

Today, this gathering in this area has been organized for a special social cause. For waking the spirit of unity in the heart of people, the spirit by which our country was able to achieve freedom after the years of bondage in its history. This spirit among people which is the biggest reason for the life existence on earth needs to get awake. As we know that India is a land of diversity but still people lives together with love and affection towards each other. Almost each one of us knows that we should respect each other’s religions.

I hope that you all have heard a line “united we stand and divided we fall” and it is indeed absolutely true. Unity is a pillar upon which the whole world and especially countries are dependent. If a country is going through any crises than it becomes a bit easy to tackle such problems if the people of the country are united. Those politician who normally opposes each other every time, should also stand with unity. All these things are only possible if people will have faith towards their country.

As I have said earlier that our country India is a multi-religious country and still she have a spirit of unity in her people. The biggest example of unity among country is in her history when we achieved freedom against Britishers and are still retaining it till now. It would not have been possible without unity and faith among people that they had shown at that time. Besides diversities in culture, religion, race etc we can see a unity in diversity among people through the different fusions that could be seen in their cultures, clothes, food, lifestyles etc.

Not only in a country but unity has a very important role in the world and there are many cases where there is a problem affecting the entire world and countries got united to solve the problem. This could be only possible when there is unity among people.

Hence, we know that unity plays an important role in every aspect and always has a very good impact on everyone’s life. Unity has a power to change the entire world but it totally depends on us that against what we all are getting united. It is the high time when we have to get united against all odds that are reducing peace all over the world like terrorism, riots, animal cruelty, murders, robberies, corruption etc rather than against the policies and steps taken by the government for the well being of the country. All these problems can be only tackled and finished from roots when we will unite against it.

On this note, I would like to conclude my words and extend special thanks to our managing team and supporters who unconditionally supported this event. A special thank also goes to you people for gathering here and making this event successful.

Biden delivers first Oval Office speech, celebrates ‘a crisis averted’

speech on unity in short

Public speech about the bipartisan budget agreement , which is a product of weeks-long negotiations between President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

President Biden used the first Oval Office speech of his presidency to declare victory after a bipartisan deal to raise the debt ceiling passed both chambers of Congress, preventing a debt default and economic chaos.

In the 13-minute speech, the president praised Republican and Democratic negotiators and commended Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield) for working with him on the deal, which the two men finalized just days before the Treasury was set to run out of money to pay the country’s bills.

But even as he thanked his political opponents, Biden was quick to draw a contrast with them. He recalled Republicans’ prior calls to cut Social Security and Medicare, and he slammed their proposed cuts to Medicaid, clean energy investments and Internal Revenue Service funding.

“Republicans may not like it,” he said, “but I am going to make sure the wealthy pay their fair share. … I am going to be coming back, and with your help, I’m gonna win.”

Friday’s prime-time speech from behind the Resolute Desk represented a shift of sorts for Biden. Some Democrats had worried that the president had been too quiet during the weeks-long negotiations, allowing McCarthy to hog the media spotlight. The Oval Office address allowed him to speak directly to the American people not at a time of imminent crisis but to, as he told the country, “report on a crisis averted.”

“No one got everything they wanted, but the American people got what they needed,” Biden said. “We averted an economic crisis — an economic collapse.”

McCarthy proved he’s a stronger House speaker than many expected. But GOP is split over cutting government

A lot of people bet that the Republican from Bakersfield would be unable to keep his factionalized majority in line. He proved the doubters wrong. But the party remains deeply divided on an issue that once united it — the size of government.

June 2, 2023

Biden said he plans to sign the debt ceiling compromise into law on Saturday.

The legislation, which includes spending caps and some changes to energy permitting and social programs, passed both houses of Congress overwhelmingly.

Some progressive Democrats who voted against the deal cited concerns about what they characterized as debt ceiling “hostage taking,” or about the deal easing energy permitting and making changes to social programs such as SNAP, also known as food stamps.

Members of the hard-right Freedom Caucus also opposed the bill, arguing that it did not go far enough in slashing government spending.

The president could use a win. His approval ratings have been mired in the low 40s, and fell as negotiations over the debt ceiling intensified and fear of a catastrophic default rose. He tripped and fell on stage after addressing graduates at the United States Air Force Academy on Thursday. A White House aide later tweeted to assure the public that the 80-year-old president was “fine.”

Voters may not be paying close attention to the debt ceiling drama.

“Right now, people are probably moving on to planning summer vacations and being concerned about issues closer to home …,” Rose Kapolczynski, a West Coast-based political consultant, told The Times. “The debt limit is very important for America and the economy. But it’s pretty obscure.”

But voters — especially the Democrats and independents that Biden needs in order to win reelection — do tend to tell pollsters that they want their leaders to compromise.

According to a February PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll, 70% of Americans believe it is more important to compromise toward solutions than it is to stand on principle in the face of a gridlock. That figure was highest among Democrats and independents, who said they support compromise at rates of 83% and 69% respectively.

“Most voters want leaders from both parties to work together,” Kapolczynski said. “They also want leaders to stand up for what they believe in. Sometimes those two things are in conflict. But in this case, Biden felt he got a deal that did both.”

The president stressed that point Friday night, beginning and ending his speech with statements about unity and bipartisanship.

“I know bipartisanship is hard and unity is hard, but we can never stop trying,” he said. “To join forces as Americans is to stop shouting, lower the temperature, and work together to pursue progress.”

Biden’s potential Republican competitors, however, have blasted the debt ceiling deal.

Former President Trump has said he would have allowed a default before conceding what Republicans did; Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the agreement would leave the country “careening toward bankruptcy.” Former Vice President Mike Pence said the deal “uses Washington smoke and mirror games to make small reforms.”

Presidents have historically used the Oval Office to deliver messages of immense importance during times of national crisis and tragedy.

President George W. Bush addressed the country from the office soon after the September 11 attacks. President George H.W. Bush famously used his first Oval Office speech to deliver a message about the dangers of drugs while holding a bag of what he described as crack cocaine. President Obama gave his first Oval Office address in June 2010 after a visit to the site of a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Before Biden’s speech Friday, the last Oval Office address was on Jan. 13, 2021, when Trump condemned violence in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and called for calm ahead of Biden’s inauguration, an event he did not acknowledge or attend.
