SI Sportsbook was born from a partnership between the iconic Sports Illustrated magazine and the gambling powerhouse 888 Holdings.

They launched in Colorado in September 2021, then expanded to Virginia and Michigan.

But SI Sportsbook isn’t rushing to spread across the country like some of the bigger sports betting brands. It is actually expected to shut down by October 2025.

SI Sportsbook has a few standout perks that make it worth a look while it's still available. The Perfect 10 freerolls and Made For You feature (personalized bet suggestions based on your past picks) are great features. They also have a decent amount of  banking options and odds boosts  that can help you win more.

Still, SI Sportsbook definitely has room for improvement in two key areas.

First, the odds aren't nearly as competitive as the big players , meaning you have to win even more of your bets than normal to turn a profit. 

Second, the user experience isn't the best . While the app is functional and doesn't have so many issues that it's too frustrating to use, it isn't as easy to navigate and clean as competitors.

Right now, SI Sportsbook just squeezes into my top 10 sportsbooks. It's not the best, but it's secure, has all the essential features, and offers a nice sign-up bonus for new players.

If it’s available in your state, I say give it a go. However, I recommend using at least one other sportsbook so you can shop around for the best odds and lines.

Overall Rating

SI Sportsbook needs some work if it wants to reach the level of top-tier sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings. However, it does boast some appealing features that make it worth a try.

SI Sportsbook isn’t the top destination for line shopping. They offer subpar odds across the board, with spreads and totals often featuring -23 to -28-cent lines. Learn more.

The welcome bonus is middle of the pack compared to other sportsbooks. Since it's a deposit match, you get the bonus bets no matter what—something that isn't true with no sweat bets.  Learn more.

The mobile app comes across more as a mobile site than an actual app. It’s crowded, uses bland icons, and generally feels too busy. Learn more.

My Favorite Parts About SI Sportsbook

• Perfect 10 promotion: This is SI Sportsbook's signature freeroll challenge. It works just like DFS freerolls . You predict outcomes for 10 chosen events, and if you nail them all, you share in a big prize pool. I'm all in on this because freerolls like this aren't common at sportsbooks. It's a great way for new bettors to try things out and for regulars to enjoy some extra action without dipping into their wallets.
• Good selection of sports: While you might not find niche options like surfing, they've got the secondary markets covered well including MMA, cricket, and darts.
• Handy personalization feature: The Made for You option recommends bets based on your betting history. For bettors who usually stick to certain games or bets, this feature can save a lot of time. It might also spark some new ideas when you're not sure what to bet on next.
• Potentially valuable odds boosts: SI Sportsbook doesn’t offer a ton of odds boosts , but what they have can yield value. They don’t offer odds boosts for longshots, but you can find them on safer bets like the Cavaliers to win+Mitchell to score 30+.

My Least Favorite Parts About SI Sportsbook

• Improve odds: Given that SI Sportsbook handles its oddsmaking in-house with assistance from 888, changing their odds provider seems like the only real fix. If switching isn’t an option, a quick win would be to lower the extra vig on spreads and totals, targeting -110 on both sides to adopt 20-cent lines. This move could instantly make their odds more appealing.
• Enhance live betting platform: The live betting platform at SI Sportsbook feels underdeveloped. Given the massive popularity of live betting, improving this should be a top priority. They could bring in live streaming, add options for micro betting, and sharpen up those odds—upgrades that could make live betting what it should be.
• Expand offerings: Prop bets are a huge draw these days, with sportsbooks constantly finding new and creative prop bets to offer. However, SI doesn't seem to be riding this wave. Sticking to just the basic player stats for props isn't enough anymore. They need to broaden their range to stay competitive.

SI Sportsbook Odds Competitiveness

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 11/20

In a nutshell, SI Sportsbook's odds are just not competitive.

Unfortunately, this is usually the case for all bet types from moneylines and spreads to totals and futures .

Let me highlight an NBA game to demonstrate how SI Sportsbook's odds fall short compared to FanDuel .

For the LA Clippers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game, SI Sportsbook listed the odds at +113 for the Clippers and -143 for the Timberwolves on the moneyline, while FanDuel offered +120 and -141. These might seem like minor differences at first glance, but over time, they really start to add up.

Even worse, for the spread and total in the same game, SI Sportsbook offered lines at -105 and -118, while FanDuel had -110 on both sides.

This means that SI Sportsbook takes a higher vig on bets. Since SI is taking more of a cut from bets, your expected profit over time will be less compared to other sites like FanDuel . 

The exception is if you only use SI Sportsbook when it's offering the best deal for a market you like. Every now and then, you'll find SI offers the best odds and/or lines for certain markets, even if they typically offer worse deals, on average.

Here are our top-rated sportsbooks for odds—sites that should always be in your rotation for lines/odds shopping:

SI Sportsbook Sign-Up Bonus

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 6/15

SI Sportsbook's current sign-up bonus is a 100% deposit match up to $100.  Whatever your first deposit is, they will match it dollar-for-dollar up to $100. 

Deposit $25? You get $25. 

Deposit $100? You get $100.

Deposit $200? You still get $100.

Once you receive your bonus bets, you have 90 days to use them which is longer than most competitors allow.

One other thing to note is that the bonus bets have minimum odds of -200. This means your bonus bets must have odds of -200 or longer (-150, -110, +200, etc.).

App & Website User Experience – My Takeaways

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 9/15

SI Sportsbook’s design feels outdated. The black and red color scheme is fine, but the graphics are screaming for a modern update.

Visuals aside, what really matters is the platform's performance and organization, and I’d say SI Sportsbook has room for growth in both of these areas.

My main problem with SI Sportsbook is how slow it feels. On both mobile and desktop, there's a frustrating one- to two-second wait every time you load a new page.

The sports navigation uses a vertical menu on the left side like other sportsbooks. I like that when you open the A-Z sports tab on the desktop, it expands to the right as an extension of the button. It means you don't have to scroll down to see more, which is a thoughtful design choice.

The Single Game Parlay builder could use some work. 

It's not as nicely incorporated into the betting interface as it is with other sportsbooks. Instead, it pops up once you click it, making it isolated from the rest of the app. 

Also, it doesn't display the odds for those bets until you've added them to your bet slip.

The mobile app comes across more like a mobile website than a proper app. It’s cluttered, the icons lack appeal, and there's just too much happening. 

It does offer biometric capabilities, but the Face ID feature can be glitchy—though to be fair, that's a common issue across many sports betting apps.

In my opinion, these three sportsbooks offer a far superior user experience:

• DraftKings : 15/15 rating

Sports & Betting Markets

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 4.5/7.5

SI Sportsbook has a decent selection of sports, but they could really beef up their options, especially for the big leagues. As it stands, their range of prop bets and futures within each sport is on the lighter side.

What Sports You Can Bet On at SI Sportsbook

SI Sportsbook lets you place bets on 18 sports plus esports. I'm noting esports separately since they’re not legally available everywhere.

Their range of sports is quite strong, comparable to the top betting sites I've reviewed. They not only cover the major and secondary markets but also include some third-tier sports like rugby league and darts.

Here’s the list of sports you can bet on at SI Sportsbook:

• Australian Rules
• Motor racing
• Rugby League
• Rugby Union
• Table tennis

They really stand out with the variety of competitions they cover in each sport, particularly soccer. Given their European background, that’s no surprise. They've got bets on dozens of leagues, from the England Southern League Premier Division Central all the way to the Tanzania Premier League.

But if you're after even more sports options, check out these three sportsbooks that go beyond what SI Sportsbook offers:

SI Sportsbook Market Variety

The variety in betting markets is mostly seen in the depth of prop bets and futures for the big sports, as the types of bets for other sports are pretty standard across different sportsbooks.  That's why the top sportsbooks are coming up with innovative prop bets. 

Unfortunately, SI Sportsbook hasn't stepped up in this area—it's still offering just the standard options.

I'll go into more detail on their offerings for prop bets and futures in major sports in the sections below.

SI Sportsbook's selection of props for major sports is quite limited. Here's a more detailed look:

• NBA props : They provide NBA odds for key player stats such as points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and turnovers. However, the variety of game props is slim, with hardly anything beyond “last team to score.” There's also a lack of inventive player props. It would be great to see them introduce things like team total points scored.
• NFL props : SI Sportsbook sticks to the basics here, offering passing, rushing, and receiving yard props; TD scorer props; and a few defensive props. However, they feature fewer players than you'd see at other sportsbooks.
• MLB props : Their MLB lines for props are pretty sparse, mainly limited to strikeouts and runs.
• NHL props : They cover the key stats with player props including points, goals, shots, assists, and power play points. SI Sportsbook also offers some unique longshot combos, like “team to win+center to score a goal in the 1st period,” with odds reaching up to +1000 for these kinds of combinations.
• Other sports : When it comes to soccer, their prop bet collection is impressive, featuring cool options such as a player scoring from outside the box in the 1st half or achieving a hat trick.

As you can see, there's not a lot of creativity in the props offered by SI Sportsbook. If you're looking for more, check out these three sportsbooks that are really crushing it with a wide range of props:

• FanDuel : 5/5 for player and game props
• bet365 : 5/5 for player and game props
• BetMGM : 5/5 for player and game props

The futures bets at SI Sportsbook are pretty basic. Apart from the big championship winners— Super Bowl odds , Stanley Cup Winner odds, NBA Championship odds , and World Series odds —there isn’t much else offered. 

Sure, they have the standard lines for individual player awards, like MVP and Rookie of the Year, but that's pretty much where it ends.

I was hoping SI Sportsbook would get more specific with their offerings. I was looking for bets like “X team to reach the playoffs” in the NBA or those total season win markets I really enjoy (and have seen at other sportsbooks), but they just weren't there.

These three sportsbooks have a better selection of futures bets than SI Sportsbook:

• FanDuel : Unique NFL draft specials
• Caesars : NBA championship exacta (exact winner+runner-up combo)
• BetMGM : Highest scoring game on a given day in the NHL

The live betting platform at SI Sportsbook has quite a bit of room for improvement. Right now, it feels underdeveloped.

For starters, the selection of sports available for live betting doesn't measure up to other sportsbooks. 

During what could be considered peak hours, from 3 pm to 11 pm on a typical week day (depending on where you live and the time of year), SI offers live odds for roughly 5 sports. 

In contrast, a sportsbook like bet365 would feature live betting options for at least 8 sports.

Then there are the odds, which are just as poor as the pre-game markets, if not worse. For basketball games, I frequently come across -120 and -125 lines on the spread, leading to 45-cent lines, which is frankly abysmal.

Additionally, they lack features like live streaming and micro-betting markets (betting play-by-play). And their stats tracker feature is bare bones.

Overall, I awarded them a 1.5/5 rating for the live betting category due to all the flaws mentioned above. If you want to see what top live betting platforms look like, check out these three sportsbooks:

SI Sportsbook Reviews from Customers

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 3/5

The ratings for SI Sportsbook on the app stores are solid, standing at 4.1 on the App Store and 4.3 on Google Play.

Digging into the comment sections, here are some positive notes people have shared:

• Great freeroll : Tom G highlighted how much he enjoys the free Perfect 10 game ( see screenshot ).
• Nice bonuses : Dan liked the bonuses they offered back then though these have changed ( see screenshot ).

SI Sportsbook has faced quite a bit of criticism in the comment sections, with most complaints focusing on the app’s usability. Here is some feedback I found:

• Performance issues : A user mentioned frequent crashes, geolocation problems, and recurring bugs—sentiments echoed by several others ( see screenshot ).
• Inefficient support : Another user struggled with promotions and tried to get help from support but ended up frustrated because the answers they got were confusing and incorrect ( see screenshot ).

On Reddit, I found some troubling posts. One thread discussed how SI reportedly limited a user, restricting him to betting only a few pennies after winning his first bet.

Another odd situation involved a player who claimed he won a parlay, but SI refused to pay out, arguing he missed a leg of the parlay—a leg the player insists wasn't even on his slip.

Overall, there's quite a bit of negative feedback about SI Sportsbook on various player review platforms. If you're interested, here are three betting sites that have received more positive reviews from customers:

Deposits, Withdrawals, & Payout Speed

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 4/5

SI Sportsbook offers a broad range of banking options for both deposits and withdrawals.

You can fund your SI account using 10 different payment methods .

The minimum deposit is $10 for all banking options except for PayPal, which requires a minimum of $35. SI Sportsbook doesn't impose any fees for deposits but your bank might.

SI Sportsbook may ask you to verify your ID at some point, possibly before your first deposit or withdrawal. This reduces issues with transactions and can also lead to increased deposit limits in some cases.

Withdrawal Methods & Payout Speed

You have 5 payment options for cashing out your winnings at SI Sportsbook.

The minimum amount you can withdraw is $10 , regardless of the banking method used.

Withdrawals can be reversed but only within the pending period, which lasts one hour from the time you request a withdrawal. This gives their finance team time to process your request. Once your request status changes to “processed,” reversing the withdrawal is no longer an option.

Note that SI Sportsbook doesn't process withdrawals on weekends, so the following time frames are for business days only.

Even though SI Sportsbook doesn't offer same-day cash outs like some other betting sites, I still have them on my list of sportsbooks with the fastest payouts .

Odds Boosts, Promotions, & Loyalty Program

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 6/10

SI Sportsbook has a decent lineup of promotions, but they could definitely do more. They usually offer between 1-3 promos for existing players, slightly less than other sportsbooks. It'd be great to see them throw a couple more promotions into the rotation.

When it comes to odds boosts, they're doing better, providing over 5 daily odds boosts in addition to occasional parlay boosts.

Here’s a deeper dive into what they offer.

Odds Boosts

You can find daily odds boosts on SI Sportsbook either through the promo page, where all the odds boosts are grouped together, or by opening a specific sport and then clicking on the SI Sportsboosts tab to see if there are any boosts for that sport.

On average, they offer 8-10 daily odds boosts, which matches up pretty well with the number other sportsbooks offer.

However, be aware that sometimes the dedicated odds boosts section can be glitchy and might not display all available boosts at first glance. You may need to refresh the page a few times to see everything.

One thing I really like about SI Sportsbook's odds boosts is that they don't just go after those longshot bets or super tricky parlays. This makes it easier to spot some real value.

Once, I found a boost where the Milwaukee Bucks winning and Malik Beasley hitting at least 3 three-pointers went from +140 to +190. This was a sensible bet considering the Bucks were heavy favorites, and Beasley’s season averages fell between 2-5 three-pointers a game.

The price enhancements for each odds boost fall into the 10-20% range, which is pretty solid.

I appreciate that they display the baseline odds alongside the boosted ones, unlike some sportsbooks that only show the boosted version.

SI Sportsbook could definitely be more generous with their promotions. They tend to offer only 1-3 ongoing deals, which is less than what you'll find at other sportsbooks.

To give you a sense of what they offer to their returning bettors, here's a promotion I came across:

• Perfect 10 : Nail 10 pre-made selections correctly, and you'll win a share of the prize pool, which can exceed $10k.
• Bet $10+ on NBA, Get 10 bonus spins : This unique sportsbook+casino combo promotion kicks in when you bet $10 or more during the promotional period. You’ll earn 10 bonus spins for their slot games, though it's only up for grabs in Michigan, where they have an online casino.
• Parlay boosts : From time to time, they add nice parlay boosts, either by offering a small bonus bet for setting up a parlay or increasing the profits if your parlay hits.

Remember, some promos like the casino offer might be specific to certain states and available only in places where SI Sportsbook is operational.

Loyalty Program

Right now, SI Sportsbook doesn't have a loyalty or VIP program. I'll let you know if that changes and share the info here.

If you're on the lookout for sportsbooks with great loyalty programs, BetMGM (MGM Rewards Program) and Caesars Sportsbook (Caesars Rewards) are top-notch options.

SI Sportsbook Features

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 2.25/7.5

SI Sportsbook keeps it simple with its features, offering just a couple of standout tools:

• Cash Out : This handy feature lets bettors step back from a bet before all the selections have played out. So, if you're on the edge of winning a 6-leg parlay but don't want to risk the final leg, you can cash out early. You'll get paid out, but it'll be less than if you’d hit the whole parlay.
• Same Game Parlays : Known at SI as Single Game Parlay, it lets you combine multiple bets from the same game into a single slip. This option is mainly available for the big leagues and major sports.
• BetFeed : There's quite a bit of buzz around the BetFeed feature but personally, I’m not that crazy about it. By hitting the BetFeed tab, you get to peek at the most popular bets other SI Sportsbook members are placing. It shows the top 20 trending bets at the moment, offering a glimpse into what others are betting on.

SI Sportsbook is missing a few things I often find handy on other sites like live streaming. They could really benefit from adding some special features to enhance their platform.

SI Sportsbook Background

SI Sportsbook comes from a partnership between Sports Illustrated and 888 Holdings.

Sports Illustrated began in 1954, pioneering in-depth sports journalism that went beyond just the games. It's known for covering some of the biggest stories in sports and regularly featuring top athletes like Muhammad Ali, LeBron James, and Terry Bradshaw on its covers.

In 2019, Authentic Brands Group acquired Sports Illustrated. They immediately set out to shift the focus towards a digital-first approach, aiming to blend sports, entertainment, and culture. Adapting to this new strategy, Sports Illustrated changed its publication frequency in 2020 from bi-monthly to monthly.

In June 2021, Sports Illustrated teamed up with 888 Holdings, a big name in global gambling. 888 was already active in the U.S., having started a sportsbook in New Jersey in 2018 and a poker app in various states.

The goal of this partnership was to combine 888's gambling know-how with Sports Illustrated's fame in sports.

Enter SI Sportsbook. It made its debut on September 7, 2021, in Colorado and then expanded to Virginia and Michigan the next year.

As part of this new focus, 888 decided to close its New Jersey sportsbook and put all its efforts into SI Sportsbook.

Latest Developments

In November 2023, Sports Illustrated started its first brick-and-mortar sportsbook at the Island Resort & Casino in Michigan, thanks to a partnership with OpenBet, a technology platform company.

In March 2024, it was reported that SI Sportsbook would shut down in the next 18 months after 888 decided to unwind the operation. If/when SI Sportsbook officially goes offline, we'll update this review to make it clear that it's no longer available.

Even though live chat is handy, it's surprising they don't have email or phone support. They do have a detailed FAQ section, though, covering a lot of ground like bonuses and tech problems, so you might find your answer there without needing to reach out.

It’s lucky then that the site already feels like it’s going to be a fixture on the betting scene in the US for years to come.

In this rundown, I have covered everything you need to know about SI, from a software review to exclusive bonus offers, betting options, deposits and withdrawals , customer support, and much much more.

SI Sportsbook Pros and Cons

SI Sportsbook at a Glance

SI Sportsbook is the sports betting wing of Sports Illustrated, which has been reporting on sport in the US since the 1950’s. The SI Sportsbook is its maiden voyage into the world of online gambling, but the company’s decades of experience means that it already feels like a more established site.

There is an SI Sportsbook desktop site and a mobile app , which can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices. Both options have their advantages, and I tested both out as part of this SI Sportsbook review.

In general terms, I am very impressed with Sports Illustrated. It’s true that there is a certain gravitas that comes with the name, which meant the expectations were higher than for an average sportsbook – but I was not disappointed.

SI Sportsbook Software and Mobile Betting App

The SI Sportsbook is well-designed and aesthetically satisfying, but also a fairly traditional sportsbook. They haven’t tried to make a big splash with a crazy site full of video content or 3D graphics. Instead, they’ve gone for a simple site in Sports Illustrated’s characteristic red and white style.

The desktop site is loosely split into three different areas. On the left of the screen is the main menu, which lets you jump to different parts of the site. The middle contains the most info, including all the betting information. On the right is the bet slip, to which you can add your selections and decide how you want to bet.

The betting options will be automatically updated as you select bets, and you can test out different stakes to see your potential payouts before deciding to place a bet.

Browsing through the different betting options is easy. Popular bets are given the most prominence on the site, but if you click into a specific game you can typically find lots of more granular betting options.

There is a Promotions page, where you can keep track of all the latest SI offers, a Recommendations page that makes suggestions based on your recent betting history, and a dedicated Live Betting area.

Personally, I very much liked the live betting experience at Sports Illustrated. The list of sports at the top of the page have little icons attached which indicate the number of live games currently available to bet on, which is handy. Placing live bets is nice and smooth, and just takes a couple of clicks.

The SI Sportsbook app works great too. It follows the same overall pattern as the desktop site but shrunken down nicely to fit on the smaller screen. Once again, placing your bets is smooth and intuitive.

I tested the app on iPhone, Android, and a tablet and had no complaints with any of them.

Software and App Highlights

Clean and easy to use, both on the desktop and mobile. Betting on live games is especially simple.

The software is uncomplicated, making it very friendly for beginners and experienced sports bettors alike.

The recommendations screen is a nice touch and provides personalized suggestions and offers. Once you’ve built up a bit of betting history, I can see this being really valuable.

Things to Improve

No live streaming on the platform at the moment.

As much as I love seeing a huge menu of obscure bets, the truth is that the vast majority of all the action booked by a sportsbook goes on just a handful of bets.

SI Sportsbook understands this and makes sure that money lines , point spreads , and totals are the most visible bets. Understanding these bets and placing them couldn’t be much easier.

If you’re in the market for something a little more interesting, Sports Illustrated is also likely to have you covered. Click into any football, basketball, or hockey game for instance and you’ll find loads of betting options on all kinds of minor incidents in the game – rushing yards, layups, assists, and even disciplinary stats.

Props are one of the funniest ways to bet, and SI has lots of interesting markets.

As I’ve already mentioned, I'm a fan of the live betting experience at the SI Sportsbook. Clarity is key here, with odds constantly changing in real time, and the live platform is simple and easy to use.

One addition I wouldn’t mind seeing is some content streamed live from the games, however, and live statistical updates. These are features that the top live betting sites offer.

Any sportsbook launching under the Sports Illustrated mantel is going to want to have a deep and varied selection of sports available to bet on, to do justice to that publication’s reputation. SI Sportsbook is therefore unsurprisingly pretty stacked.

During my tests, all the deposit methods worked pretty much perfectly. Cash-out was equally straightforward. SI charges no fees for either deposits or withdrawals – which is great – but some of the methods might incur other fees along the way.

For example, depending on your bank, your credit card payment may be considered a cash advance, which involves additional charges. Again, this is outside of Sports Illustrated’s control, and something you need to check with your bank.

Signup and Registration

Modern online sportsbooks have gotten the registration process for new bettors down to fine art. It’s all about making it as easy as possible to create your sportsbook account and get down to the more fun business of actually betting.

SI Sportsbook is no different. During my SI review, I found the signup process extremely simple. It only took me a couple of minutes max to get registered.

You can start by hitting the red “Join Now” button on the top right-hand corner of the screen. There are just two screens of information to fill out.

First up is your email address and new password, along with your cell phone number.

You’ll have to choose a security question and provide an answer.

Before you can continue the registration, there are a number of boxes you need to check confirming that your information is correct and you accept the terms and conditions. You can also opt-in or out of promotional emails.

The final screen is dedicated to your personal info. Type in your full name and date of birth, along with your address and some digits from your SSN. Depending on your info, you may also need to submit additional personal documentation after you complete registration.

Your identity also needs to be fully verified to unlock certain parts of the site, but as long as you have all the relevant documents to hand (like your social security number) this won’t be an issue.

Security and Gaming Licence

Even though Sports Illustrated is new to the sports betting game, its name certainly carries a lot of prestige in the industry. This is important: a company like SI is not going to risk its reputation by launching an online sportsbook with questionable licensing or security credentials.

Plus, it has a partnership in place with 888sports, who are already one of the big dogs in terms of betting around the world. There are tentative agreements in place with casinos in Iowa, Indiana, and New Jersey – where the company’s headquarters are.

I have no player safety concerns with SI Sportsbook.

There are generally three main ways that people can get in touch with sportsbooks: email, phone, and live chat support. SI offers all three, so you can choose whichever works best for you.

As usual, my favorite option is the live chat which tends to be the fastest and most convenient way to get answers.

It’s always a thrill when an interesting new sportsbook launches, and in this case, it’s only magnified by the fact that the sportsbook represents a new venture from Sports Illustrated and all the weight that name carries in the world of sports fandom.

And SI Sportsbook certainly lives up to the name for the most part. Here are our experts’ highlights:

The site is generally well designed, and especially very friendly for beginners. Simplicity was clearly a priority for the creators and it means finding and placing bets is logical and easy. The platform is largely free from over-the-top advertisements or basically any unnecessary information, which is just as I like it.

I love the Perfect 10 promotion, which is totally free for everyone to play each week. It’s a fun, simple game that gives you the chance to win a huge amount of cash if you can manage to pick ten winners. It feels like something that would encourage you to log in each week.

Things SI Sportsbook Could Work On

Every day is a learning day, and no sportsbook is perfect. I snooped around the top areas where SI Sportsbook could improve or what I'd like to see changed. Here’s what I came up with.

The live betting platform is generally well designed and easy to use – like the rest of the site. However, it does lack streaming and live statistical updates from the games themselves. This is something most top sportsbooks have been proactive about including in recent years, so it’s something I’d like to see added.

I'm not a massive fan of the Betfeed, which shows other people’s bets as they are placed.

SI Sportsbook Company History

SI Sportsbook might have a comparatively short history, but the history of Sports Illustrated in general is anything but. The world-famous US sports magazine was first published back in 1954 and has been a fixture in the consciousness of sports fans ever since.

Becoming a Sports Illustrated cover star is a coveted accolade among US athletes, as is receiving its regular awards, such as Sportsperson of the Year.

With a wave of legal sports betting sweeping the US, and the arrival of an extremely lucrative new market, it makes sense that one of the foremost sporting media organizations would want to take advantage.

SI Sportsbook is the company’s very first entry into the betting, and it became possible as part of a partnership with 888sport. 888 is already a major operator in European and US sports.

It’s early days, but I fully expect the expertise of the two companies to dovetail effectively.

SI Sportsbook User Reviews

The Final Word on SI Sportsbook

It’s early days for SI Sportsbook, but it’s already looking like a great addition to the sports betting landscape in the US. Furthermore, I fully anticipate it to only get better.

The commercial pull of the Sports Illustrated name is second to no betting site currently operating in the US, and it makes sense that we’ll see big sponsorships, partnerships with other top brands, and promotions down the line that just aren’t in the scope of other sportsbooks. This is purely speculation on my part, but it does make sense.

I'm excited to see where this project goes, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a lot going for it already. SI Sportsbook feels fully formed, with a betting menu, sporting menu, and betting lines.

The software is simple but effective, and the practical facilities like banking methods and customer support are impressive.

I’ve already mentioned a couple of areas to improve – notably the lack of streaming and live stats for in-play betting – but these are certainly not deal-breakers.

All in all, this is a very impressive site from one of the biggest names in US sports.

SI Sportsbook Hands-on Review

Known primarily for being one of the most influential sports magazines of the last 50+ years, Sports Illustrated has now ventured into the online sportsbook space.

Launching in September 2021, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is currently only available in Virginia and Michigan. It has plans to expand throughout the country as more states get on board with online sports betting.

SI has partnered with 888sport, a British-based online sportsbook that also briefly operated in New Jersey, to offer sports betting in the United States.

Over the years, 888 has made strides to join the United States iGaming landscape, and with the Sports Illustrated partnership, should help grow both brands as they try to expand into other states.

SI already offers a brick-and-mortar sportsbook, the Grande Casino, located in Cripple Creek, Colorado. Virginia became SI’s second legal location when it went live there in April 2022. They then launched in Michigan.

There are reports swirling that the sportsbook will launch in Iowa and Indiana in the near future, and possibly New Jersey down the road as well.

Is Sports Illustrated Sportsbook Legit?

Yes, absolutely. The sportsbook may only be in two states, but again, the SI brand — one of the leaders in sports media for almost 70 years — would not lend itself to something that wasn’t legitimate.

In order to offer real money online sports betting, SI sportsbook must pass rigorous testing run by the state to test game fairness, integrity, and of course all the banking options in order to keep your money safe and secure.

However, even if you lose, you will get a $1 free bet for each correct answer. There is a caveat, however: After your first two tries at the game, you will be required to make a weekly wager of $25 or more at odds of -110 or greater in order to receive these $1 free bets.

My Sports Illustrated Sportsbook App Experience

Sports Illustrated Sportsbook does have a mobile app, and it is available for both Android and iOS users. The app can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store for Android devices and the Apple App Store for iOS devices.

The app is streamlined and easy to navigate. If you started playing on desktop, you’ll be happy to find that the mobile app is very similar to SI’s desktop platform, but even more enjoyable and convenient to use.

Starting at the top of the app, you will find the login and registration buttons in the upper right-hand corner. Looking at the upper left-hand side, you will find a collapsible drop-down menu. This provides links to the sports offered, the Perfect 10 contest, Promotions, and contests that are actively in progress for Live Betting.

Husky Roster Review: Anderson Got Chance to Play with the Big Boys

Not your typical walk-on offensive lineman, who tends to lean to the shorter and lighter side, Aidan Anderson checks in with the University of Washington football team these days at 6-foot-4 and 319 pounds.

A year ago as a Husky freshman, the Olympia, Washington, product likely rated no higher than a fourth-string offensive tackle, lining up behind starters Troy Fautanu and Roger Rosengarten, backups Samuel Peacock and Jalen Klemm, and scholarship freshmen Soane Faasolo and Elishah Jackett.

This past spring, by manpower necessity -- with only 10 healthy lineman available, who were with or without financial aid -- Anderson spent all 15 of the offseason practices as a second-unit tackle for the Huskies.

While he'll likely get pushed back down the depth chart once Jedd Fisch's coaching staff replenishes the numbers to 16-18 players in this position group, Anderson received a unique opportunity as a young non-scholarship player to show what he could do.

He's seen what it takes to be taken seriously in practice. Whether or not he's lacking in athleticism, strength or footwork, Anderson now has a better idea what it takes to become a relevant Husky football lineman.

This is one in a series of articles -- going from 0 to 99 on the Husky roster -- examining what each scholarship player and leading walk-on did this past spring and what to expect from them going forward.x

Anderson who turned 19 on May 2, the day before the spring game, came to the Huskies as a preferred walk-on from North Thurston High School following limited recruitment that involved Eastern Washington, Portland State, Oregon State, Washington State and Whitworth.

If there was an athletic attraction to him, he left high school as the 3A state heavyweight wrestling champion as a senior, finishing with a 35-2 record that consisted of 31 pins.

In football, he not only was a blocker for purple-shirted North Thurston, he was used at times as a two-way player, and one who came up with 9 tackles, including 4 tackles for loss, in his first full-time game as a defensive tackle.

Serious about becoming a college offensive lineman, Anderson attended Stanford, Oregon State and Sacramento State football camps in 2022 before arriving in Montlake. With his spring tour of duty, it's up to him to do something with that golden opportunity.

What he's done: During his recruitment, Anderson was invited by Kalen DeBoer's coaching staff to watch the UW host and beat Oregon State 24-21 in a Friday night game on Nov. 4, 2022, offered a preferred walk-on opportunity on Nov. 18 and committed on Nov. 29. He didn't appear in any Husky games as a true freshman. He was one of three walk-on linemen, with center Parker Cross and offensive guard Roice Cleeland, to pull significant spring snaps.

Starter or not: It's not impossible for a walk-on to become a UW starter -- see Edefuan Ulofoshio -- but more often it's unlikely. Anderson has plenty of size, plus that wrestling background. He just needs to want it like Ulofoshio did.
