The Indian Army was formed in 1895 by The East India Company. It was earlier called the British India Army, and after independence, on January 26’ 19501950, it was renamed as the Indian Army. The Supreme Commander of the Indian Army is the President of India, and a four-star general is appointed as the Chief of the Army Staff. President Draupadi Murmu is the current Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and General Manoj Pande is the current Chief of Army Staff. With 1,237,117 soldiers and 960,000 reserve troops, it is the largest standing army in the world in terms of numerical superiority.

The East India Company formed a military department to protect its territories in 1776. Initially, it was composed of British officers commanding soldiers recruited locally in India. Enrolment in the Indian Army is voluntary, and unlike other countries, it has never been imposed forcefully.

Due to its large size, the Indian army is divided into various regiments like the Sikh regiment, the Maratha regiment, and the Gurkha regiment. Indo- Pakistan War (1947) | The first major operation conducted by the Indian Army was the Indo- Pakistan war of 1947 which erupted due to tensions between India and Pakistan over the accession of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then Indian Army has been instrumental in neutralising terror groups and maintaining peace with the country.

India at the time of partition had more than 500 princely states, and of these princely states, Hyderabad and Jammu- Kashmir was reluctant to join India. The Maharaja of Jammu Kashmir finally acceded to the Union of India, and the Indian Army was called in for assistance against the Pakistani army intrusion in Jammu and Kashmir.

Accession Of Hyderabad | The Nizam of Hyderabad wanted to remain independent and was against joining the Union of India. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel negotiated the accession of Hyderabad to India after an invasion by the Indian Army named Operation Polo.

Other Significant Battles | The Kargil war, the Indo-Sino war of 1962, and the 1967 Sino-Indian conflict were some conflicts that established India as a dominant force in Southeast Asia, courtesy of the Indian Armed Forces.

Operations On Foreign Soil

There have been instances where the Indian Army has operated on foreign soil to maintain peace within neighbouring countries and nations. The 1971 Bangladesh war of liberation for the independence of east Pakistan from Pakistan was supported by the Indian Government. This war involved the Indian Army providing support to a Bengali freedom fighter group known as the Mukti Bahini, eventually leading to the liberation of Bangladesh. The Indian Army also supported the Maldives government during a coup against the incumbent government.

Fight Against Terrorism

The Indian Army has been capable of avoiding and responding to terror attacks. This was seen during the terror attacks in Mumbai in November 2008. The terrorists were neutralised with great efficiency, and hostages were rescued within a short period by the army. Surgical strikes were also conducted against terror camps by the army as part of its operations against terror groups and to achieve regional stability. Our soldiers fight at the borders so that citizens have a safe and stable life. The Indian army ensures the safety of India and its citizens through its operations and networking.

हर देश की सुरक्षा में सेना का बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण योगदान होता है। भारतीय सेना व्यवस्था बहुत ही अद्भुत है और विश्व की सबसे श्रेष्ठ सेना है। इनके पास संस्धनों की कमी है लेकिन इनका हौंसला और बहादुरी काबिल ए तारीफ है। भारतीय सेना के सैनिक देशभक्ति की सच्ची मिसाल है जो कि अपने प्राण त्याग कर भी देश की रक्षा करते हैं। भारतीय सेना मौका आने पर दुश्मन की ईंट से ईंट बदा देते हैं। वह अपने अंतिम क्षणों तक डटकर खड़े रहते हैं। भारतीय सैनिक गर्मी हो या सर्दी, बिना मौसम की परवाह किए देशवासियों की रक्षा करते हैं।

भारतीय सेना तीन प्रकार की है– जल सेना, थल सेना और वायु सेना। भारतीय सेना आज के समय में विश्व की तीसरे नम्बर पर सबसे बड़ी सेना है। भारतीय सैनिक बहुत ही बहादुर होतें है जिस कारण वह तकनीकी हथियारों के अभाव में भी हर मुसीबत से लड़ जाते हैं। भारतीय सेना की हर जीत के पीछे उनका अनुशासन है और उनकी सुझ बुझ है। भारतीय सेना को सैनिको का जीवन बहुत ही पीड़ादायक होता है क्योंकि देश के लिए उन्हें अपने परिवार वालों से दुर रहना पड़ता है। उनके घर वाले भी हर समय उनकी सलामती की दुआ करते हैं और अपने जवान बेटों को मातृभूमि के प्रति उनका कर्तव्य निभाने के लिए शरहद पर भेजते हैं।

भारतीय सेना सिर्फ सीमा पर रहकर ही देश की रक्षा नहीं करते बल्कि जब देश के भीतर कोई मुश्किल आती है तो वहाँ पर भी सहायता के लिए तत्पर रहते हैं। जब जब देश में बाढ़ आती है तब वायु सेना लोगों की सहायता करती है और उन तक भोजन पहुँचाती है। जब जब दुश्मनों ने देश पर हमला किया है भारतीय सेना ने अपने साहस और बुद्धिमता का परिचय दिया है।

भारतीय सेना देश की लिए अपना सब कुछ न्यौछावर करती है इसलिए हमारो देश की व्यवस्था को चाहिए कि वह सेना के सैनिकों को सभी सुविधाएँ उपलब्ध करवाए। उनके लिए उच्च तकनीकी औजार भी मँगवाने चाहिए और सैनिकों के लिए व्यवस्था होनी चाहिए कि वह सैन्य अफसरों की तरह अपने परिवार को अपने साथ रख सके। हम सबको भारतीय सेना पर गर्व है जो कि हमारे देश का मान और सम्मान है। सिर्फ हमारे देश की सेना ही है दिसको कारण हम अपनी जिंदगी बिना किसी चिंता के मस्ती में गुजार रहे हैं। हमें अपनी भारतीय सेना का सम्मान करना चाहिए और उनको परिवारों का ध्यान रखना चाहिए।

एक आम आदमी की तरह एक आम इंसान जब वह फौज में भर्ती होने के बाद बाहर निकलता है तो वह अनुशासित भरे जीवन में ऐसे ढल जाता है कि भीड़ में वह इस कदर चमकता है जैसे आसमान में ध्रुव तारा।

एक फौजी की जिंदगी में छोटी सी भूल भी देश के लिए बहुत भारी पड़ सकती है इसलिए शायद यही वजह है कि वह अपनी दिनचर्या को ही अनुशासन में बदल देते हैं और वह अनुशासन की जिंदगी जीने लग जाते हैं।

भारतीय सेना ने विदेशी प्रतिद्वंद्वियों से अपने देशों की रक्षा के लिए कई शानदार युद्ध लड़े और जीते हैं। स्वतंत्रता के तत्काल बाद, पहली बार कश्मीर की रियासत की मुक्ति के लिए था। तब कश्मीर पर शासन किया गया महाराजा हरि सिंह पर बेबुनियाद ‘पठान’ और पाकिस्तानी सेना के प्रच्छन्न सदस्यों ने हमला किया। दोनों सेनाओं में झड़पों के बाद, भारत सरकार के पक्ष में समझौते के एक साधन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

बांग्लादेश मुक्ति युद्ध को भारतीय सेना का सबसे सफल सैन्य निशाना माना जाता है जहां उसने पूर्वी पाकिस्तान के स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन के बहाने कश्मीर में घुसपैठ करने के लिए पाकिस्तानी सेना के नेफिरिया डिजाइनों के खिलाफ लड़ी थी। पाकिस्तान की सेना ने अपनी बाहों को बंद कर दिया और अपने 90,000 सैनिकों को आत्मसमर्पण किया और शिमला समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए। अगला कारगिल था जहां भारतीय सेना ने अपने दुश्मनों को पूरी तरह से पारंपरिक युद्ध में नियंत्रण रेखा को बहाल कर दिया। कश्मीर में आतंकवाद के उदय के बाद से, जम्मू-कश्मीर राज्य में सेना के एक बड़े जवान तैनात किए गए हैं, जो कि विद्रोह विरोधी अभियानों के लिए एक साथ शांति और शांति बनाए रखता है।

हर वर्ष 15 जनवरी को प्रेम और उत्साह के संग भारतीय सेना दिवस मनाया जाता है। इसकी शुरुआत भारत के पहले प्रधान सेनापति लेफ्टीनेंट जनरल के.एम. करियप्पा को सम्मान देने के लिए हुई थी। हर साल मिलिट्री प्रदर्शनी सहित सैनिक परेड सैनिक नियंत्रण हेड-क्वार्टर में आयोजन किया जाता है।

हर साल 15 जनवरी को सेना दिवस अथवा भारतीय सेना दिवस मनाया जाता है। वर्ष 2022 , में प्रतिवर्ष की तरह 15 जनवरी, शनिवार के दिन भारतीय सेना दिवस अथवा सेना दिवस मनाया जायेगा। भारत का राजधानी, दिल्ली में 74वां भारतीय सेना दिवस के रुप में इसे मनाया जायेगा।

देश में आपदा की स्थिति के दौरान भारतीय सैनिक एक बड़ी और महान भूमिका निभाते हैं क्योंकि वे खुद को देश को समर्पित कर देते हैं। इसे देखते हुए दिल्ली में स्थित इंडिया गेट पर “अमर जवान ज्योति” पर कुर्बान हुए भारतीय सेना के सैनिकों को श्रद्धांजलि देने की शुरुआत सेना दिवस के रुप में समारोह आयोजित किया जाता है। श्रद्धांजलि देने के बाद भारतीय सेना में नयी तकनीक और उपलब्धियों को इंगित करने के लिये मिलिट्री प्रदर्शनियों सहित एक उत्कृष्ट परेड होता है। इस महान अवसर पर बहादुरी पुरस्कार सहित ईकाई परिचय पत्र और बहादुर सेना को मेडल दिया जाता है । जम्मू और कश्मीर में सेना दिवस उत्सव पर भारतीय सेना को बहादुरी और प्रसिद्ध सेवा पुरस्कार (सेना मेडल, विशिष्ट सेवा मेडल) से समन्नित किया जाता हैं। हिम्मती और निडर भारतीय सैनिकों को याद करने के लिये ये दिन देश के लिए बहुत महत्वपूर्ण दिन रहता है ।

भारतीय सेना के जवानों अर्थात भारतीय सेना बैंड्स द्वारा सेना दिवस उत्सव के दौरान सेना दिवस परेड प्रस्तुत किया जाता है । जिसके तहत बीएलटी टी-72, टी-90 टैंक, ब्रह्मोज मिसाइल, कैरियर मोटार्र ट्रैक्ड वैहिकिल, 155 एमएम सोलटम गन, सेना विमानन दल का उन्नत प्रकाश हेलिकॉप्टर इत्यादि का प्रदर्शन किया जाता है। भारतीय सेना में सैनिक अपनी सेवा को कायम रखने और राष्ट्र को सुरक्षित रखने के लिए तथा किसी भी दुश्मन का डट कर सामना करने की शपथ लेते है।

हर वर्ष 15 जनवरी के दिन भारतीय सेना दिवस के अवसर को काफी धूमधाम के साथ मनाया जाता है। इस विशेष दिन नई दिल्ली सहित देश के विभिन्न जगहों पर कई सारे सैन्य कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाता है। सेना दिवस के अवसर पर पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी तथा राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद द्वारा भारतीय सेना के वीरता तथा अदम्य साहस के लिए नमन करते है। सेना दिवस के अवसर पर देश के विभिन्न सैनिक स्कूलों तथा केंद्रीय विद्यालयों में कई प्रकार के कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाता है। इसके साथ ही विभिन्न संस्थानों द्वारा इस अवसर पर सेना का मनोबल बढ़ाने के लिए कई तरह की रैलियों और कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाता है । उत्तर प्रदेश के नोएडा में बीएस मेमोरियल पब्लिक स्कूल निठारी और सद्भावना सेवा संस्थान द्वारा सेना दिवस के अवसर पर एक अनोखी मिसाल पेश की गई थी । इस दौरान संस्था द्वारा सर्व धर्म एकता का संदेश देते हुए, वंचित बच्चों में कंबलों का वितरण किया गया था। वहीं दूसरी ओर आयोध्या स्थित आर्मी स्कूल तथा केंद्रीय विद्यालय के बच्चों के साथ युद्ध स्मारक पर श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित करते हुए वीर शहीदों को नमन किया जाता है ।

1947 में आज़ादी मिलने के बाद ब्रिटिश भारतीय सेना को नए राष्ट्र भारत और पकिस्तान की रक्षा करने के लिए 2 भागों में बाँट दिया गया। इंडियन आर्मी की अधिकतर यूनिट्स भारतीय सेना के पास ही रहीं। चार गोरखा सैन्य दलों को ब्रिटिश सेना से भारतीय सेना में शिफ्ट कर दिया गया।

अगर आज हम अपने घरों में चैन से बैठे हुए हैं तो इसकी वजह भारतीय सेना है। भारतीय सेना दुनिया की बड़ी, आधुनिक और ताकतवर सेनाओं में से एक है। हमारी सेना विशाल और सशक्त है। जब हमारी सरकार को लगता है कि स्थिति अब काबू से बाहर होती जा रही है और पुलिस से स्थिति नियंत्रित नहीं हो है तो फिर सरकार के द्वारा भारतीय सेना को काम सौंपा जाता है और भारतीय सेना हर बार की तरह स्थिति को नियंत्रित करती है। भारतीय सेना भारतीय नागरिकों का गर्व है।

The Indian armed forces are divided into three parts – the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy.

The Indian Army is a land-based unit, while the Indian Air Force works in air defense and the Indian Navy is a naval unit.

Our Indian Army is the second largest army in the world with about 1.23 million personnel on active rolls and another 9.6 lakh in reserves.

The Indian Army is primarily responsible for defending the country against land-based attacks.

It also helps other agencies to deal with terrorism, to deal with emergency situations in the country and to save people in case of natural disasters like floods, earthquakes etc.

The current Chief of Army Staff (COAS) is General Bipin Rawat (as of 2018). As the Indian Army is very large, it is divided into regiments.

Some important regiments are Punjab Regiment, Madras Regiment, Rajputana Rifles, Sikh Regiment etc.

It also has its own intelligence unit, abbreviated as “military intelligence” or “MI”.

The Indian Army (under British rule) participated in World War I and II before independence. After independence, it has fought several full-fledged wars like Kargil War (1999), Bangladesh Liberation War (1971), India-Pakistan War (1965), Indo-China War (1962) and First Kashmir War (1947).

Apart from these, the Indian Army has also handled some minor conflicts like Siachen struggle (1984), Operation Polo (1948), Indo-China conflict (1967) etc.

Hawaldar Abdul Hameed mounted his jeep and destroyed six Pakistani tanks with a rifle in the back and was killed in an attempt to destroy the seventh.

For this he was awarded India’s highest military honor – Paramveer Chakra. It is believed that the Americans came to India to learn the methods and equipment by which their invincible Patton tanks were destroyed.

It is believed that India rejected his request.

The Indian Army also successfully handled many riots, for example the Godhra riots, 1992 Mumbai riots, 1984 riots etc.

It is also currently dealing with terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and some North Eastern state currently has around 1.23 million people on active rolls, while others have 9.6 lakh rupees.

A military jawan objected to his presence and said, “As we too do not have the experience to lead a nation, we should appoint a British man as our first Prime Minister.”

Nehru realized His mistake and asked the person if he would like to become the army chief first?

On this, he made Lieutenant General K.M. Suggested the name of. Kariyappa who was also present there and thus became the first army chief.

It is high time we should improve our ways and start paying genuine respect to the soldiers otherwise a time may come when there will be no one to protect our motherland.

I used to think as a child what a soldier’s life is like.

I took it for granted that it should be my bed of opposing roses, which was like hell because I had to go to school, complete homework, learn answers, attend exams and exams and not have time to play.

On the other hand, I felt that a soldier has to move around in a smart green uniform with his gun.

The problem is, many adults feel the same way, not realizing how wrong they are. Most people think it is like a regular 9 to 5 job but it is far from reality.

I used to tell my father that I too wanted to be an army officer like him (he served in the Territorial Army as a junior commissioned officer).

My answer was, “I will get a gun and a strong stick and with this I will kill the bad guys.” My father used to laugh out loud at this.

Now I realize how wrong I was. The reality is, this is one of the most difficult work environments and certainly not a bed of roses.

I came to know from the media about the working environment of the army but I soon came to know that it was half-true.

The only way by which I could get real information was by talking to the real “military”. Fortunately my father and some of his friends (who also served in the military) were willing to share their stories.

They told me that their training days were tough because the new environment was quite different from the civilian environment they used to use.

The 6 o’clock reporting time in civilian life may mean 6.15 or even 6.30, but in the military, 6.00 o’clock means exactly 6.00 o’clock.

My father and his colleagues were punished many times for being late. Punishment was usually quite difficult. Usually it was running with full gear for miles or something like that.

After PT in the morning, physical endurance training began and it continued for a few hours. The trainers were usually considered villains by the trainees.

Once my father and his colleagues were denied water after a ten mile run. His response was expected. He then joked about the instructor.

After that there were theory classes. It was evening time to play. Cadets played all types of sports including football, volleyball, basketball etc.

Time passed by and my father’s training ended.

He was posted in many places but had a posting which according to him was the most difficult. He also received a gallantry medal for that.

My father says that if you want a regular life then the army is not for you, but if you want to cross your limits and want your life to be a bit adventurous then you should join the army.

भारत के 71 वें गणतंत्र दिवस की परेड में रविवार को नारी शक्ति पूरे प्रदर्शन पर थी, क्योंकि कई महिला अधिकारियों ने पहली बार सेना और सेना के अर्धसैनिक टुकड़ियों का नेतृत्व किया।

मेज़र खुश्बू ने परेड के दौरान असम राइफलों की 144 महिला कर्मियों की टुकड़ी का नेतृत्व किया।

आकर्षण का केंद्र सबसे पुराने अर्धसैनिक बल, असाम राइफलों की महिला टुकड़ी की पहली बार भागीदारी थी। इस अर्धसैनिक बल में महिला कर्मियों की भर्ती 2015 में शुरू हुई और 124 महिलाओं का पहला बैच अप्रैल 2016 में पारित हुआ।

नौसेना, भारत सेना सेवा कोर और कोर ऑफ़ सिग्नल की एक इकाई (परिवहन योग्य उपग्रह टर्मिनल) सभी महिला अधिकारियों के नेतृत्व में थे।

भारतीय सेना के उपकरण (हथियार)

सेना के अधिकांश उपकरण आयात किए जाते हैं, लेकिन स्वदेशी उपकरणों के निर्माण के लिए प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन ने भारतीय सेना के लिए छोटे हथियारों, तोपखाने, राडार और शस्त्रागार से लेकर कई हथियारों का विकास किया है। सभी भारतीय सैन्य छोटे हथियारों का निर्माण आयुध कारखानों बोर्ड के छत्र प्रशासन के तहत किया जाता है। बन्दूक निर्माण प्रमुखतः कानपुर, जबलपुर और तिरुचिरापल्ली में सभी सुविधाओं के साथ होता है।

पिछले दो विश्व युद्धों के दौरान हमारे सैनिकों ने यूरोप, अफ्रीका और मध्य पूर्व में लड़ाई लड़ी और ब्रिटिश साम्राज्य के लिए जीत हासिल की। हमारे सैनिकों ने फ्रांस और अन्य देशों में भी अपनी सेवाएं दी। उन्हें जहां भी भेजा गया, जीत उनकी थी।

हमारे सैनिकों ने कभी आत्मसमर्पण नहीं किया। उनका आदर्श वाक्य हमेशा “करो या मरो” रहा है। अक्टूबर-नवंबर 1962 के भारत-चीन युद्ध और बाद में सितंबर, 1965 के भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध में, एक भारतीय सैनिक ने विभिन्न मोर्चों पर अपने दुश्मन के समकक्षों की कई बार हत्या की।

यदि भारत, भारत-चीन युद्ध में पीछे हट गया तो यह साहस की इच्छा के लिए नहीं था, बल्कि चीन के पास पर्याप्त हथियारों के लिए था, जो हमारे पास नहीं था। वास्तव में हमारे सैनिक पर्याप्त रूप से कपड़े नहीं पहने हुए थे। जैसा कि एक अमेरिकी पत्र में कहा गया था। हमारे सैनिक गर्मियों की वर्दी में पहाड़ों के बर्फीले शीर्ष पर लड़ रहे थे।

भारतीय सेना पर निबंध Essay on Indian Army in Hindi : भारत के जवान और सेना प्रत्येक राष्ट्रप्रेमी के दिल के बेहद करीब होती हैं, या यूँ कहे कि भारतीयों की धडकन जवानों में बसती हैं.

हम सुरक्षित जीवन यापन करते है क्योंकि हमारे हीरों कही 50 डिग्री तापमान में तो लेह लद्दाख में खून जमा देने वाली ठंड में खड़े रहकर हमारी हिफाजत करते हैं. आज का निबंध भारतीय सेना पर दिया गया हैं.

नमस्कार दोस्तों स्टूडेंट्स के लिए इंडियन आर्मी पर सरल भाषा में एस्से दिया गया हैं. कक्षा 1 से 10 तक के स्टूडेंट्स इस सरल भाषा में विभिन्न शब्द सीमा में लिखे गये निबंध का उपयोग कर सकते हैं.

निबंध 1 (200 शब्द)

किसी भी राष्ट्र राज्य के लिए राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा राष्ट्रहित की सूचि में सर्वोपरि होती हैं. आम आदमी के लिए तो राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा ही राष्ट्र हित का पर्याय हैं. जिसका अर्थ वह देश की भौगोलिक सीमाओं पर रक्षा के द्वारा एकता और अखंडता को निरापद रखना समझता हैं.

यह बात अक्सर अनदेखी रह जाती है कि आखिर चरम महत्वपूर्ण समझी जाने वाली यह सैनिक और सामरिक सुरक्षा आखिर इतनी महत्वपूर्ण क्यों हैं.

किसी भू भाग विशेष में संप्रभु आधिपत्य आवश्यक हैं इनके आर्थिक, सामाजिक तथा सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रीय हितों की सुरक्षा, सैनिक, सामरिक सुरक्षा के माध्यम से करने का प्रयत्न राष्ट्रहित समझा जाता हैं.

राष्ट्रीय मूल्य जो उसके अस्तित्व के साथ जुड़े है और उसकी राष्ट्रीय पहचान का हिस्सा हैं. सेना या फौज किसी देश या उसके नागरिकों के हितों व ध्येयों को बढ़ाने तथा उनकी रक्षा के लिए सशस्त्र क्षमता रखने वाला संगठन होता हैं.

देश के बाह्य आक्रमण एवं विदेशी हमलों से सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी भारतीय सेनाओं की होती हैं. अपने पड़ोसी देशों और आगे के भू भाग में अनिश्चितता, अस्थिरता और हलचल से उत्पन्न समस्याओं के निराकरण के लिए भारतीय सेना हमेशा तत्पर रहती है.

भारत की सामरिक अवस्थिति और वैश्विक सुरक्षा घटनाक्रमों और चुनौतियों के मध्य राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा को मजबूत बनाये रखना भारतीय सेना की प्राथमिकता रही हैं.

भारतीय सेना के तीन अंग है थल सेना, वायु सेना, जल सेना (नौ सेना). भारतीय सेना केंद्र सरकार के रक्षा मंत्रालय के अधीन कार्य करती हैं. तीनों सेनाओं के अपने अपने अध्यक्ष होते है जो प्रशासनिक रूप से इनको नियंत्रित रखते हैं. भारत का राष्ट्रपति सेना का सर्वोच्च सेनापति होता हैं.

युद्धकाल के अलावा संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के साथ शान्ति सेना के रूप में भारतीय सेना ने विश्व के अनेक देशों में शान्ति व्यवस्था को स्थापित करने में अमूल्य योगदान दिया हैं. प्राकृतिक आपदाओं जैसे भूकम्प, बाढ़, तूफान व दंगों आदि में भी नागरिकों व प्रशासन की सहायता के लिए सदैव योगदान दिया हैं.

भारतीय सेना पर निबंध 3 (500 शब्द)

प्रत्येक राष्ट्र की बाहरी सीमाओं की सुरक्षा के लिए सेना का गठन किया जाता हैं. भारत की सेना विश्व की चौथी सबसे बड़ी शक्तिशाली सेना मानी जाती हैं.

15 लाख युवाओं की भारतीय सेना दुश्मन के लिए साक्षात काल व पीड़ितों के लिए देवता के रूप में मददगार बनती हैं. पेशेवर सेना के रूप में इंडियन आर्मी भले ही संसाधनों की कमी से बीते वक्त में जूझती रही मगर इसका हौसला कभी नहीं टूटा.

अद्भुत साहस और शौर्य की अनगिनत मिसाले पेश करने वाली भारतीय सेना का प्रत्येक सिपाही स्वयं को राष्ट्र पर समर्पित कर देने के भाव से हर पल देश की सीमाओं की रखवाली करता हैं.

आजादी के बाद जितने भी अवसर बने सेना ने अपनी वीरता का प्रदर्शन कर दुश्मन के दांत खट्टे किये हैं. सर्दी गर्मी बरसात भूकम्प बाढ़ कैसे भी हालात रहे हो हमारे सैनिक रक्षक अपने कर्तव्य पथ पर डटे रहकर देश की सेवा करते रहे हैं.

संख्या बल के लिहाज से 14 लाख सक्रिय सैनिकों के साथ चीन के बाद भारतीय सेना दूसरी सबसे ताकतवर फौज हैं. इसकी स्थापना 1 अप्रैल 1895 को गई थी. भारत की सेना थल, वायु एवं जल सेना में विभक्त हैं.

स्थलीय सीमा की सुरक्षा थल सेना, हवाई सीमा की सुरक्षा एयर फ़ोर्स जबकि जल सीमा की सुरक्षा नेवी के कंधों पर हैं. सेना के तीनों भागों का कमांडर इन चीफ अथवा तीनों सेनाओं का अध्यक्ष राष्ट्रपति होते हैं. वर्तमान में भारत के रक्षा मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण हैं.

वर्तमान में इंडियन आर्मी में 1237117 सक्रीय जवान और 960000 रिजर्व जवान हैं, विषम परिस्थतियों में तकनीकी हथियारों की कमी के उपरान्त भी भारतीय सिपाही अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ देते हैं. बड़ी बड़ी विजयों के बाद भी सेना ने जो अनुशासन और सूझ बुझ का परिचय दिया हैं वह अद्वितीय हैं.

अपने घर से हजारों मील दूर रहकर राष्ट्र सेवा करने वाले सैनिकों का जीवन बेहद कष्ट दायक होता हैं. वर्तमान में आतंकवाद माओवाद तथा कश्मीर में स्थानीय पत्थरबाजों को भी सहते हैं.

एक फौजी के साथ राष्ट्र के सभी नागरिकों की गहरी निष्ठा व आत्मीयता होती हैं. एक बेटा युवावस्था में अपने घर बार परिवार को छोड़कर देश सेवा के लिए जब सीमा पर जाता हैं तो हर कोई उसकी सलामती के लिए दुआ करता हैं.

देश की सेना न सिर्फ सीमा पार दुश्मन को जवाब देती हैं बल्कि देश में जब जब बड़ी विपदा आई हैं, भारतीय सेना के जवान रक्षक बनकर लोगों के जीवन को बचाने उन्हें सुरक्षित स्थलों पर पहुचाने भोजन चिकित्सा प्रदान करने के लिए आगे आते हैं.

हम सभी जानते है कि हमारी सेना हमेशा अपना सब कुछ देश के लिए न्यौछावर करने के लिए तैयार रहती हैं. ऐसे में हम देशवासियों के भी कुछ दायित्व बनते है कि हम हमारी सेना को सभी तरह की सुविधाएं व जरूरतों को पूरा करे.

जब एक सैनिक सीमा पर शहीद होता हैं तो एक पूरा परिवार सूना हो जाता हैं ऐसे में उनके परिवार के किसी सदस्य को नौकरी अथवा सहायता देना सरकार व समाज का दायित्व हैं. हमारा मान सम्मान सब कुछ हमारी आर्मी पर हैं ऐसे में हमें उन्हें हर तरफ का सहयोग करना चाहिए ताकि वे निश्चिन्त होकर देश की सेवा कर सके.

देश की सीमाओं को दुश्मन की मैली नजरों से बचाने वाली भारतीय सेना अपनी परम्परा का पालन करते हुए हर साल जनवरी माह में सेना दिवस मनाती हैं. यह दिन उस घटना को ताजा कर देता है जब सेना का नेतृत्व पहली बार भारतीयों के हाथ में आया था.

हम जानते है कि भारतीय सेना डेढ़ सौ वर्ष पुरानी सेना है जिसका गठन अंग्रेजों ने किया था. 15 जनवरी को हर साल सेना दिवस मनाया जाता हैं इस दिन भारतीय सेना अपनी सैन्य क्षमता का प्रदर्शन करती हैं.

15 जनवरी 1948 के दिन भारतीय लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल केएम करियप्पा ने कमांडर इन चीफ के रूप में अंतिम ब्रिटिश कमांडर सर फ्रैंसिस बुचर से पदभार सम्भाला था, इस तरह जनरल करियप्पा स्वतंत्र भारत के पहले सेना प्रमुख बने थे.

सेना दिवस के अवसर पर दिल्ली की अमर जवान ज्योति पर शहीदों को श्रद्दा सुमन अर्पित किये जाते हैं. इस अवसर पर भारतीय सेना के छः कमान के मुख्यालयों पर परेड के आयोजन के साथ ही अपनी क्षमता का प्रदर्शन किया जाता हैं.

निबंध 4 (1000 शब्द)

हाल ही में सुरक्षा बलों पर पुलवामा आतंकी हमलें के बाद भारतीय वायु सेना ने त्वरित कार्यवाही करते हुए 26 फरवरी 2019 पाकिस्तानी सीमा में घुसकर 12 मिराज 2000 लड़ाकू विमानों से बालाकोट क्षेत्र में आतंकवादी ठिकानों पर हमला बोला.

अगले ही दिन पाकिस्तानी वायु सेना का एक लड़ाकू विमान ऍफ़-16 भारतीय वायु सीमा का उल्लंघन करते हुए हमले का प्रयास किया.

हमलें की आशंका को देखते हुए भारतीय वायु सेना के जाबांज पायलेट विंग कमांडर अभिनंदन जो उस समय मिग 21 उड़ा रहे थे को आदेशित कर कार्यवाही करने को कहा.

विंग कमांडर अभिनंदन ने अनूठी सुझबुझ और बुलंद हौसलों का परिचय देते हुए अपनी क्षमता से बेहतर हवाई जहाज को हवा में ही मार गिराया. सामने से प्रहार से अपना मिग भी क्षतिग्रस्त हो जाने के कारण उन्हें पैराशूट से कूद कर अपनी जान बचानी पड़ी.

गलती से विंग कमांडर अभिनंदन पाक अधिकृत कश्मीर की जमीन पर उतर गये, जहाँ पाकिस्तानी सेना ने उन्हें पकड़ लिया.

जेनेवा समझौते 1949 एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दवाब के बाद जाबांज विंग कमांडर अभिनंदन को वापस रिहा किया गया. विंग कमांडर अभिनंदन की प्रारम्भिक पढ़ाई जोधपुर में हुई थी. उस समय उनके पिताजी भारतीय वायु सेना के उच्च पद पर कार्यरत थे.

भारतीय थल सेना

भारतीय एकता एवं अखंडता की रक्षा करने के उद्देश्य से गठित थल सेना भारतीय स्थलीय सीमा की सुरक्षा करती हैं. यह सेना मुख्य रूप से पैदल सेना होती हैं जो जमीन पर लड़ाई लड़ती हैं.

15 जनवरी को प्रतिवर्ष सेना दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता हैं. भारतीय थल सेना के प्रथम सेनाध्यक्ष के एम करिअप्पा तथा 1971 के भारत पाकिस्तान युद्ध के हीरो सैम मानेकशा को फील्ड मार्शल की रैंक से सुशोभित किया गया हैं.

भारतीय थल सेना परमाणु हथियार तथा उन्नत अस्त्र शस्त्रों से लैस है. कारगिल युद्ध में भारत का लोहा मनवाने वाली बोफोर्स तथा 155 मिमी स्वदेशी धनुष गन दुश्मनों पर गोलीबारी करने में सदैव अग्रणी हैं.

अर्जुन एवं टी 90 भीष्म टैंक दुश्मन के क्षेत्र में दूर तक प्रहार करने में सक्षम हैं. इसके अतिरिक्त अग्नि, पृथ्वी तथा ब्रह्मोस जैसी उच्च तकनीकी मिसाईल भी भारतीय सेना के पास है जो दुश्मन की जमीन पर कहीं भी हमला कर सकती हैं.

भारतीय वायु सेना

भारतीय वायुसेना की स्थापना 8 अक्टूबर 1932 को की गई थी. भारतीय वायु सेना की मुख्य जिम्मेदारी देश की हवाई सीमा की सुरक्षा करना हैं.

भारतीय वायु सेना देश के नभ की रक्षा के साथ साथ सशस्त्र बलों की अन्य शाखाओं के साथ मिलकर आपदा राहत कार्यक्रमों में राहत सामग्री पहुंचाने खोज एवं बचाव अभियानों, आपदा प्रभावित क्षेत्रों से नागरिकों की निकासी जैसे कार्य भी करता हैं.

विगत वर्षों में भारतीय वायु सेना के विशेष दल कार्य दल गुरुड का प्रयोग आतंकवादी विरोधी दस्ते में भी हुआ हैं. 2016 में मोहाना सिंह, अवनी चतुर्वेदी, भावना कान्त को पहली बार भारतीय वायु सेना में बतौर लड़ाकू विमान पायलट के रूप में शामिल किया गया.

झुंझुनू जिले की रहने वाली मोहाना के पिता भारतीय वायु सेना में कार्यरत रहे है और उनके दादा लादूराम जाट भी वीर चक्र सम्मानित हैं.

भारतीय वायु सेना ने गोवा लिबरेशन से लेकर 1965 व 1971 के भारत पाक युद्ध में प्रभावी तरीके से अपने कार्य को अंजाम दिया और दोनों युद्धों में भारत को विजय प्राप्त हुई.

कारगिल युद्ध में भी वायु सेना ने जम्मू कश्मीर के दुर्गम क्षेत्रों पर बमबारी कर दुश्मन को वापस खदेड़ने में सफलता प्राप्त की.

कारगिल युद्ध में पाकिस्तानी फौज जो खदेड़ने के लिए भारतीय वायु सेना के दो मिग 29, लड़ाकू विमान आसमान में उड़े, अपने एक साथी के बिछुड़ जाने पर राजस्थान के कोटा जिले के रहने वाले स्क्वाड्रन लीडर अजय आहूजा ने उनकी तलाश करने पाकिस्तानी सीमा में घुस गये.

वहां पाकिस्तानी सेना का एक गोला लग जाने से उन्हें पेराशूट के सहारे नीचे कूदना पड़ा. भारत सरकार ने उनकी बहादुरी के लिए मरणोपरांत वीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया.

भारतीय वायु सेना के पास सुखोई 30, जगुआर मिराज 2000, मिग 29 जैसे अत्याधुनिक लड़ाकू विमान तथा आई एल 76, हरक्युलस, ए एन 32 जैसे भारी मालवाहक विमान हैं. इसके अलावा वायु सेना के पास एम आई 35, चीता, चेतक, सारंग नामक हेलीकॉप्टर है.

अभी एच ए एल द्वारा पूर्णतया स्वदेशी तकनीक से तैयार तेजस नामक हल्के तथा उच्च क्षमता के लड़ाकू विमान को भारतीय वायु सेना में शामिल किया गया हैं.

दुश्मन पर निगरानी के लिए अवाक्स रेडार भी भारी विमानों पर लगाया गया हैं. आकाश और पृथ्वी जैसी विशाल मारक क्षमता वाली मिसाइलों को भी भारतीय वायु सेना ने अपने विभिन्न अड्डों में स्थापित किया हैं.

भारत एक परमाणु सम्पन्न देश है परन्तु हमने पहले परमाणु हमले की पहल न करने का संकल्प लिया हुआ हैं. अपनी उत्कृष्ट जीवन शैली के कारण भारतीय वायु सेना आज भी युवाओं की पहली पसंद बनी हुई हैं.

भारतीय नौ सेना (जल सेना)

नौसेना भारत की समुद्री सीमा में होने वाले खतरों से सुरक्षा प्रदान करती हैं. इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य समुद्र में उत्पन्न होने वाले खतरों से भारत की प्रादेशिक अखंडता तथा नागरिकों और अपतटीय परिसम्पतियों की सुरक्षा करना हैं.

नौ सेना भारत के समुद्र से जुड़े वाणिज्य और समुद्री व्यापार की रक्षा भी करती हैं. 26 नवम्बर 2008 के मुंबई पर आतंकवादी हमले के बाद तटीय सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी भारतीय नौ सेना को सोप दी हैं.

जो भारतीय तटरक्षक तथा राज्य की समुद्री पुलिस के साथ समन्वय करके अपने कार्य को अंजाम देती हैं. इसके अतिरिक्त प्राकृतिक आपदाओं में मानवीय सहायता, आपदा राहत खोज व बचाव, गोताखोरी सहायता तथा जल सर्वेक्षण जैसे कार्य भी भारतीय नौ सेना बखूबी कर रही हैं.

1961 में गोवा को पुर्तगालियों से मुक्त कराने में भारतीय नौ सेना ने अपनी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका का निर्वाह किया. 4 दिसम्बर 1971 को भारत पाक युद्ध में भारतीय नौ सेना ने दोनों तरफ से पाकिस्तान को घेरकर कराची बन्दरगाह को तबाह करते हुए पूर्वी पाकिस्तान को बांग्लादेश के रूप में स्थापित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई.

इस विजय के प्रतीक के रूप में प्रतिवर्ष 4 दिसम्बर को नौ सेना दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता हैं. इसके अलावा संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ द्वारा शांति स्थापित करने के प्रयास में भारतीय नौ सेना ने भी शांति सेना के रूप में विभिन्न अभियानों में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया.

नौ सेना के पास आई एन एस विक्रांत, विराट और विक्रमादित्य जैसे विशाल क्षेत्रफल वाले युद्धपोत हैं. आई एन एस चक्र और अरिहंत जैसी नाभिकीय ऊर्जा से संचालित पनडुब्बी दुश्मन के किसी भी हमलें का मुहं तोड़ जवाब देने में सक्षम हैं.

The role of women in armed forces in India has been expanding and touching greater heights with each passing day. More women officers are assuming command of units in the armed forces now. The road to gender equality in the armed forces is still long but the battle has begun on the right note. Read here to know more about the women in the Indian armed forces.

While seeking a job in the military, a person’s gender will not stand in the way of their application. Being physically strong is less useful in modern combat than possessing the appropriate abilities and understanding.

Given that both recruiting and retention rates appear to have declined, the Indian Armed Forces are in desperate need of a robust mixed-gender force. This may be fixed by permitting women to work in combat positions.

The Indian Army decided to forbid women from holding commanding officer positions due to the dearth of women in leadership positions. To strengthen Army culture and standards, this issue has to be addressed.

History of Women in Armed Forces

India has produced many infamous women freedom fighters and leaders since time immemorial. In the motherland of Rani of Jhansi, Capt. Laxmi Sehgal , Sarojini Naidu , and many others it is a matter of time about creating feminist power in the Armed Forces as well.

The founding of the Indian Military Nursing Service in 1888 was a turning point for the advancement of women’s roles in the Indian Armed Services.

• Indian Army nurses participated in numerous roles during World War I .
• Moreover, the Women’s Auxiliary Corps was created to enable women to work in non-combat positions like administration and communications.
• Women spies were quite successful during the second world war .
• When Subhash Chandra Bose founded the Azad Hind Fauj, women could only serve in non-combat capacities in the British Indian Army.

The Army Act of 1950 forbade women from being appointed to regular commissions.

The Indian Army’s Medical Corps was the first military institution to regularly appoint female troops on November 1st, 1958. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, women were also permitted to serve on short-service commissions.

The Indian Army began inducting women in 1992. They were commissioned for five years in certain chosen streams such as the Army Education Corps, Corps of Signals, Intelligence Corps, and Corps of Engineers.

By 2020, women are not allowed to serve as combat troops in Special Forces such as the Parachute Regiment. They can still join other non-combatant wings such as the signal corps and engineers.

Combat role in the Indian Army has for long been an exclusive domain for men. India will be among the few countries globally to have broken the gender barrier. Women have been serving in administrative and technical roles in various corps, but combat role for them, initially in the Military Police, is a new beginning.

The recent Supreme Court judgment has finally accepted gender parity in the Armed by allowing women officers in command positions.

• A two-decade fight to reach this milestone ended on February 17, 2020, with the Supreme Court’s ground-breaking decision enforcing gender-neutral terms and conditions of service in the armed services.
• The Supreme Court’s directives are currently being carried out by the government and military forces.

The debate on women in combat roles in the Armed Forces comes up at regular intervals, although women have been in such roles in other countries earlier too.

The combat employment philosophy of women in the Armed Forces is a continuously evolving process and is regularly reviewed by the Indian Army .

• At present, women are being commissioned in Indian Army in ten Streams viz. Corps of Engineers, Corps of Signals, Army Air Defence, Army Service Corps, Army Ordnance Corps, Corp of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, Army Aviation Corps, Intelligence Corps, Judge Advocate General Branch, and Army Education Corps in addition to the Armed Forces Medical Services as Doctors and Military Nurses which is a woman only entry.
• New Avenues such as the grant of permanent commission to SSC women officers, induction of women cadets in NDA, and recruitment of Women as Provost JCOs/OR.

The induction of women as officers in the Indian Navy commenced in the year 1991.  Since then the Indian Navy has gradually opened all branches to women officers including induction through NDA.

• For the first time women are also being recruited for sailors’ entries under the Agnipath Scheme with effect from 2022 and 20% of vacancies are reserved for women.
• The Navy has also started inducting women officers on frontline ships, earlier a no-go zone for women officers.

Officers’ recruitment in the IAF is gender-neutral. Women officers are inducted in all the branches and streams of IAF.

• Opportunities for a career in IAF service are widely publicized through print/ electronic media and special publicity drives.
• An opening has also been provided through NCC Special Entry for flying SSC (Women) from 2017 onwards.
• The experimental scheme to induct women officers in all combat roles, initiated by the IAF in 2015 has now been regularised into a permanent scheme.
• Such a gender-neutral approach is facilitating the employment of women officers of IAF in all combat roles without any restrictions.

Recent developments for women in the armed forces

The military is poised to break new ground by allowing women to command teams on par with males.

• A Special Number 3 Selection Board convened in January 2023 screened 108 female officers out of 224 from the 1992 to 2006 batches to promote them to the rank of Colonel.
• Those chosen will soon begin holding command positions.
• In response to the Supreme Court decision giving parity for permanent commission and promotion with their male counterparts, this selection board was created as a one-time solution to clear the backlog.
• Future selection panels will be gender-neutral.

Direct admittance as officers through the National Defence Academy and enlistment in the Corps of Military Police and Assam Rifles have also been given a slow start.

• Access has been granted to the artillery, another fighting branch.
• Six female officers have completed the esteemed Defense Services Staff Course (DSSC) and Defense Services Technical Staff Course (DSTSC).
• Currently working at Siachen Glacier is the first female officer.
• Women have started enlisting in the military under the Agnipath program as well.

However, women are still not allowed to join the fighting forces, including the Armoured Corps, Infantry/Mechanized Infantry, Special Forces, and merit-driven competitive entry, which would allow women to join the military on an equal footing with men as officers and soldiers as opposed to the vacancy-based entry that they can currently do.

According to various global data, the women’s labor force participation rate is about 25% compared to the global average is 47%.

The biggest challenge before the armed forces is best expressed in the observations of the Supreme Court – “ Seventy years after the birth of a post-colonial independent state, there is still a need for change in attitudes and mindsets to recognize the commitment to the values of the Constitution.” 

Equality of opportunity:

• The law of the nation now mandates equal chances for men and women in the armed services.
• Education of all ranks to embrace the change is thus the first step.
• The military would do well to conduct a thorough investigation to establish a policy for female enlistment, training, terms and conditions, and management that takes into account the knowledge and best practices of all contemporary militaries.

Gender neutrality:

• In addition to commanders, the armed services will need to start direct recruiting for soldiers, sailors, and airmen.
• The ultimate objective should be a merit-based entrance system that is gender-neutral.
• Gender quotas may need to be established at first for administrative reasons to build the appropriate infrastructure and promote women.

Physical fitness standards:

• The physical fitness standards for women are another debatable area.
• The armed forces need to carry out scientific studies to chalk out gender-specific or gender-neutral physical fitness standards for men and women.
• The fact that women stand to lose a good amount of service period due to pregnancy, post-partum recovery, and motherhood, also is viewed as a disadvantage in women assuming combat roles.

Sexual harassment:

• The armed forces will be confronted with the problem of sexual assault and harassment of women.
• Due to the masculine “warrior mentality,” which does not view women as equals, this social issue expresses itself more visibly in the armed services.
• The issue is only made worse by the proximity of men and women in the 20- to 40-year-old age range who live, train, and engage in combat.
• According to military experience, sexual offenses against women account for a disproportionately high proportion of all crimes.
• The government must carry out a detailed study based on its own experience and that of other militaries to lay down policies, rules, regulations, and laws.

Way forward

The inclusion of more women in leadership roles is one of the most crucial things that the nation should take into account while trying to solve its problems.

The nation, which aspires to be a rising power, needs to confront the ongoing problem of gender discrimination in the armed forces. In every element of their job, women should get equal treatment.

The administrative and institutional regulations concerning maternity leave and transfers should also get continuous scrutiny. India needs to change its perspective on women if it wants to accelerate economic development and enhance its standing in the world. Also, doing so will support the empowerment of women.

They would be able to interact with other countries using their foreign language abilities in addition to being able to carry out their tasks as translators. This is because the country’s military is seeking individuals who are fluent in various languages.

India has historically given rise to various notable female leaders and independence fighters. It’s time for the military to build a feminist culture by following their lead. The country’s military services will now be allowed to provide women the same privileges and possibilities as their male colleagues following the Supreme Court’s decision to let women serve longer tenures and get promotions.

To advance gender equality and preserve the nation’s security, society must undergo a constructive transformation. India will improve as a result of doing this.
