How to Complete Millicent Questline in Elden Ring

Millicent’s questline will likely be done as you progress through the game — not all at once — as it involves going to hard-to-reach areas that drastically jump up in difficulty. Here are the steps that you need to follow:

You’ll be summoned to help Millicent fight four of her sisters at once. If you choose to fight against Millicent, you’ll only get the Millicent’s Prosthesis Talisman as a reward.

You’ll receive the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia and Unalloyed Gold Needle after reloading the area. She’ll be gone and the items will be laying there on the ground.

Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC introduced several new weapons with unique movesets. A new weapon category that was introduced is the Light Greatsword type, and the Milady is a perfect specimen to showcase the weapon’s power.

This Milady build will help you empower the weapon even further.

The best Milady build in Elden Ring

The Milady is a Light Greatsword in Elden Ring . Its weapon type indicates Strength and Dexterity scaling, with emphasis on the latter. To use the Milady optimally, you’ll need to run a Quality build with balanced Str/Dex, so if you’re currently using a different build, you should respec your character before getting started.

Stat distribution

Since this is a Quality build, leveling up Strength and Dexterity evenly is ideal. Have both stats up to 40 before investing points into Vigor and Endurance. DLC enemies deal heavy damage, which is why having at least 50 Vigor will keep you alive. Endurance is best at around 25 to 30 unless you’re using heavy weapons, and the Milady is fairly light.

This is what your endgame stats should look like:

• Endurance: 30
• Strength: 50
• Dexterity: 50
• Intelligence: Base level
• Faith: Base level
• Arcane: Base level

At 50 Strength and 50 Dexterity, the build caps out at levels 180 to 185. Any additional points should be spent leveling up both stats evenly. The B-tier scaling on Strength and Dexterity will greatly benefit your build if you level them up until they hit a soft cap .

Gear breakdown

The main weapon of this build is the Milady Light Greatsword. The weapon has quite a swift moveset, which is only enhanced by imbuing it with the Wing Stance Ash of War. This weapon art was practically made for the Milady, unleashing either a flurry of powerful attacks (light attack) or a singular leaping thrust attack (heavy attack).

On your offhand, wield the Sacrificial Axe . This weapon will not be used in battle since it’s only incorporated into this build for its passive ability. The Sacrificial Axe restores four FP every time an enemy is killed in your vicinity. As long as you’re mowing down hordes of enemies, your FP will be topped up with this passive.

The armor choices for this build are flexible. The new sets in the DLC, like the Night Set and the Horned Warrior Set , are good choices if you want to maintain a lower equip load. If you can afford to invest more points into Endurance, the Solitude Set is a perfect addition, with high defenses and great poise that ensures your attacks won’t get interrupted.

Talisman breakdown

Four talismans work perfectly for this build.

• Millicent’s Prosthesis is the talisman of choice for any build that uses rapid attacks. The power of each consecutive attack empowers the next, synergizing well with Milady’s quick moveset, especially with the addition of Wing Stance. The bonus Dexterity stat is not bad either.
• The Rotten Winged Sword Insignia is perfect to use with Millicent’s Prosthesis, increasing your damage with successive attacks. The effect of both talismans stack, making for powerful damage boosts as you upgrade the Milady.
• The Two-Headed Turtle Talisman is a new addition in Erdtree . This talisman is an improvement over the Green Turtle Talisman and boosts stamina regeneration, making it essential for any build that consumes a lot of stamina.
• Rellana’s Cameo is another new talisman introduced in the DLC. This powerful talisman boosts your damage as long as you hold the same stance for up to two seconds. Maintaining the Wing Stance for over two seconds will grant you a flat 15 percent damage boost to your next few attacks.

How to get the Milady in Elden Ring

The Milady is found quite early in the DLC. As soon as you get to Castle Ensis , make your way through the main gate, past the magic-wielding troll, and take the left staircase. Follow the path to get to a watchtower. Take out the enemies guarding here and climb up the nearby ladder to get to the highest point of the watchtower.

Once at the top, you’ll find a chest. Open it to find the Milady for your build.

If spinning weapons and stunning foes with Holy damage are your thing, here’s the best Euporia build in Shadow of the Erdtree for you to try.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has an abundance of weapons to choose from, and Euporia is an impressive Faith-scaling twinblade that you won’t find until your journey through the Realm of Shadow is nearly over. Though, it is one you’ll likely want to run around New Game Plus with given how impressive it can be with the right build.

In this guide to the best Euporia build, we’re going to run through the stats you need and any other key gear that’ll help you get the most out of this weapon and the damage it is capable of inflicting. So without further ado, here’s our guide to the best Euporia build in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree .

Elden Ring Euporia Build: Stats and Class

The best Euporia build in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree focuses on Faith as a primary stat , given that the weapon has B scaling with it at +10. Additionally, given that the Euporia dishes out Holy damage, we’ll want a back-up for dealing damage to enemies that aren’t as susceptible to Holy damage; this is where our Lightning Incantations and the Gravel Stone Seal (and Golden Order Seal) come in handy.

With a mixture of the spinning twinblade and some precise Lightning attacks, you’ll be able to take on just about anything across the Lands Between and Realm of Shadow. Though, you might want to consider a different weapon for the final boss , who’s second phase - which is 70% of their health pool - is resistant to Holy damage.

As for how the Euporia works, you’ll mainly be relying on your weapon Skill - Euporia Vortex - to damage foes. Though, its light and heavy attacks also dish out plenty of damage. Euporia Vortex, however, sees you spinning your weapon and dealing Holy damage with each hit, and it comes with a nice bonus; if you manage to land enough hits on enemies successfully, Euporia Vortex receives a slight buff to its damage, and will begin to simultaneously fire bolts at your target. It’s pretty neat.

When you’re tired of that, though, or are facing an enemy who’s more resistant to Holy than you’d like, whip out your Sacred Seal and begin firing Lightning Spear at them between standard attacks.

This Euporia build uses a weapon that is found within Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, so with that in mind, this build is intended for those on their journey through the Realm of Shadow or venturing into New Game Plus .

As a result, your starting class does not matter, but I do recommend Confessor or Prophet for their high starting Faith stat. Additionally, the recommended stats below are for a Rune Level 150-200 build. Though, if you plan on wielding this at the beginning of a fresh playthrough or are planning to grab it as soon as you can, take a look at our base-game Faith build to help you prepare.

For your Flask spread, I recommend 10 Crimson and 4 Cerulean Flasks . That said, have a play around with the Euporia and its weapon Skill, and see what works for you and your playstyle. You could consider less FP flasks if you aren’t using Incantations all that much.

The below is the stat spread that I’d recommend for this build, but there’s plenty of wiggle room for those who aren’t quite Level 200.

• Mind: 20-30+
• Endurance: 20-30+
• Strength: 16
• Dexterity: 16
• Intelligence: 7
• Faith: 60-80

Having 60 Vigor is incredibly important when starting your journey in the Realm of Shadow, as the bosses hit hard and have fatal attacks. 60 Vigor can help you avoid these, but while adventuring around the base game, you can have less Vigor and do just fine.

Similar can be said for Mind and Endurance, which I recommend a minimum of 20 Rune Levels for . This will do you more than fine, but if you find yourself running out of FP or Stamina often, you should later bump these both up to 30 where possible. Additionally, the Two-Headed Turtle Talisman for speedier stamina regeneration can help if you feel your Endurance is lacking.

Strength, Dexterity, Arcane and Intelligence are four stats we can largely ignore. We don’t need Intelligence or Arcane whatsoever for this build, and we need just a minimum of 16 Strength and 16 Dexterity to be able to wield the Euporia. That’s it!

Faith, however, is our most important stat, as this is what both the Euporia and Gravel Stone Seal scale with best. When you’re first starting out, aim to have 60 Faith as soon as possible, and as you venture into the Realm of Shadow and beyond, try to bump this up to 80 Faith to maximise your damage. Alternatively, if you’re happy with your damage at the 60 Faith soft cap, put a few more points into Dexterity and Strength to boost your Physical damage if you're using light/heavy attacks often, or Mind and Endurance if you feel you’re low on those.

Last, but not least, let’s talk about the Flask of Wondrous Physick. There are a few options to consider. The Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear can boost the damage of your Holy attacks, which is great for the Euporia. Pair this with the Faith-Knot Crystal Tear to get a nice temporary boost to your Faith stat if it is currently below 80.

Alternatively, the Lightning-Shrouded Cracked Tear for boosting Lightning attacks and the Opaline Hardtear for some serious damage negation are good options for this build.

The primary weapon for this Euporia build is, you guessed it, the Euporia . To get your hands on this weapon in Shadow of the Erdtree, you’ll need to have reached the end-game area of Enir-Ilim, where you can do some very lengthy, perilous platforming from the Spiral Rise into a hidden area full of great loot.

The secondary piece of gear that we’ll equip for this Euporia build is the Gravel Stone Seal . This Sacred Seal has an S scaling with Faith at +10 and boosts Dragon Cult Incantations, which we’ll be using. We’ll be using this to cast buffs before particularly troubling fights, as well as use a few of the aforementioned Dragon Cult Incantations for bosses with strong Holy resistances.

Alternatively, some Sacred Seals have better Faith scaling than the Gravel Stone Seal - the Golden Order Seal and Erdtree Seal being two of them. Provided you at least have the Gravel Stone Seal equipped in your off-hand, you’ll still get the boost to Dragon Cult Incantations from it, so make use of that Faith stat and equip the Erdtree Seal for improved Incantation scaling. Or if you can afford 17 Intelligence, the Golden Order Seal is your best option .

Given that the Euporia is a Somber weapon with its own unique Skill, and the only weapon we’re using in this build, we don’t require any Ashes of War.

There are a few Talismans to consider when using this build.

• Shard of Alexander - greatly boosts the attack power of Skills.
• Sacred Scorpion Charm - increases holy damage but increases physical damage taken.
• Lightning Scorpion Charm - increases lightning damage but increases physical damage taken.
• Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman - greatly negates physical damage taken.
• Ritual Sword Talisman - raises attack power when HP is full.
• Millicent ’s Prosthesis - boosts dexterity and raises attack power with successive attacks.
• Two Handed Sword Talisman - enhances attacks with two-handed weapons.
• Rotten Winged Sword Insignia - greatly raises attack power with successive attacks. This apparently does not work for the Barbed Staff Spear’s Skill, so bear that in mind.

Shard of Alexander is a must-have for this build given how often we’ll be relying on the Euporia Vortex skill, and anything that boosts our attack on top of that is a plus. You can attack very quickly with the twinblade, so I highly recommend the Rotten Swinged Sword Insignia for this.

Additionally, if your Stamina is running out too often for your liking, the Two-Headed Turtle Talisman can speed up your regeneration rate. You can also consider the Sacred and Lightning Scorpion Charms for another damage boost, as the increase to damage taken is minimal. Though, I do recommend pairing either with the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman to negate some additional physical damage.

Seeing as we're leveling Faith for this build, you might as well make the most of the range of Incantations that Elden Ring - and Shadow of the Erdree - has to offer you. As mentioned above, we’ll be using the Gravel Stone Seal to cast these given its S scaling with Faith when upgraded to +10, as well as the fact that it boosts the Dragon Cult Incantations we’ll be using.

• Golden Vow - increase attack and defense for self and allies. This is found at Corpse-Stench Shack in Mt. Gelmir.
• Flame, Grant Me Strength - raises physical and fire-affinity attack power. You’ll find this behind Fort Gael in Caelid.
• Lightning Spear - hurls a lightning spear at an enemy. You need to give the Dragon Cult Prayerbook to Miriel at the Church of Vows to be able to purchase this one.
• Knight’s Lightning Spear - hurls a lightning spear at an enemy, with additional, smalling spears being hurled after the first one. This is found in Scorpion River Catacombs.

I always recommend having some Incantations available to buff your attack , especially throughout the Realm of Shadow, but you can consider fortification Incantations for damage negation to aid with fights that are troubling you.

Additionally, if you've the Memory Slots to spare, you can equip some Incantations for dealing additional damage to enemies, giving you the opportunity to switch things up on occasion if you fancy it. I’ve suggested Dragon Cult Incantations given the fact that the Gravel Stone Seal boosts these, but you could also consider additional Holy Incantations if you prefer.

The MultiLayered Ring of Light Incantation is one that feels thematically suitable for this build, as well as the Golden Arcs and Giant Golden Arc Incantations, but they won't be buffed by the Gravel Stone Seal or Golden Order Seal. Ultimately, opt for whatever Incantations you enjoy using, but I can’t recommend Lightning Spear enough!

With this build, you can opt for whatever armor you think looks cool. I personally think the Malformed Dragon set looks really neat with the Euporia and Dragon Cult Incantations that we’re using, but you could also try Rakshasa’s set for fun, which increases attack power but also increases damage taken.

Alternatively, the Ruler’s Mask boosts the Faith stat by +2, so you could try donning the Ruler’s set for some lighter armor. The Haligtree Helm also increases Faith, albeit only by +1, but the gold armor set also looks pretty good with this build.

When that happens, the solution might be powerful incantations, skillful martial arts, elegant swordplay, or smashing everything in sight. Overpowered Beast Claws Build

When you first enter the Realm of Shadow, you’re likely to come across some new weapons that are very powerful. An easy standout are the Beast Claws, which are possibly the best fist weapon now in both the Realm of Shadow and the Lands Between. With an overpowered ash of war that can destroy some of the game’s toughest bosses, this is a must-have weapon that will fit many builds. With a light weight and low requirements, plus the ability to change its affinity – the Beast Claws are absurdly good. This is why we’ve put together the very best beast claw build to shred bosses in seconds!

For this build, we want to go with the longest duration buffs first. Drink your tear, which lasts around 3 minutes. After that cast Golden Vow, which lasts close to 2 minutes and adds 15% damage and defense. Then use Bloodflame to coat the weapon and net you around 85 bleed build up. Lastly, use Flame, Grant Me Strength which lasts 30 seconds and gives you 20% more fire AND physical damage output.

Savage Claws is our unique Ash of War , which manages to stun lock bosses like Malenia easily and is an effective strategy for taking her down. Despite Malenia’s reliance on attacks like Waterfowl, we can easily apply pressure and stack both physical damage and bleed. This stops her from doing anything and is one of the fastest ways now to take her down with ease. We are getting around 500 AR with 80 strength of course, and with Bloodflame Blade around 85 bleed in total. Unlike Blood Affinity which has a physical damage reduction, Bloodflame Blade will allow us to keep our solid AR in Heavy while still dishing out bleed damage! This ultimately leads to taking down Malenia in a single try, and we can be certain that this will be the best fist weapon to fight her with. If you’re ever stuck on this incredibly challenging boss, try out this Beast Claw build to take her down fast!

These powerful fist weapons destroy mobs as well and may even be one of the best weapons in the DLC in its entirety. With so many new cool fighting options, the Beast Claw fist weapon will likely stand out among the crowd. You’ll be easily cruising through mobs, bosses and whatever else stands in your way! Another benefit here is staying a strength build, since we have good endurance, allows you to have a lot of variety and weapons you can switch to that are of the bonk variety. This weapon's charged hits also do good poise damage and can be boosted by the Axe Talisman and charged tear, if you prefer a slower moveset. The light attacks are also good, although it may be better in most situations to use the ash Savage Claws for the maximum bleed build up and physical damage. This is truly a beast of a weapon!

For this build, we’ll be focusing on the aesthetics and feel of playing as a Belmont, the family of vampire slayers that star across the Castlevania games. We’ll optimize where we can, but if there’s ever a choice between a cool roleplaying idea and just making a super strong character, I’ll be going with the roleplaying every time. The important thing is just to make sure the correct Ashes of War are equipped to your weapons to scale with the stat you’re focusing on for damage, whether that be Strength, Dexterity, or Faith. And also enough Endurance so you can carry everything and won’t always be running out of stamina with your throwing weapons.

The Anvil Hammer and Devonia’s Hammer are a pair of Colossal warhammers unique to the land of Shadow that can bring even the biggest Elden Ring enemies to their knees. Individually, they are powerful, but together, they form a devastating combination that hits for exceptional damage, staggering anything in their path. Here’s how to make this hilariously destructive build in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree .

• Main Weapon : Devonia’s Hammer
• Off-Hand Weapon : Anvil Hammer
• Shield : Fingerprint Stone Shield
• Armor : Crucible Hammer-Helm, Crucible Tree Armor , Crucible Gauntlets , Crucible Greaves , Raptor’s Black Feathers
• Talismans : Claw Talisman , Arsenal Charm +1 , Shard of Alexander , Ritual Sword Talisman
• Optional Talismans : Hammer Talisman , Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman

Devonia’s Hammer and the Anvil Hammer are two excellent hammers, and both pair excellently with a fully upgraded Fingerprint Stone Greatshield , for it’s great Guard Boost, and the improved guard counters from the Curved Sword Talisman . Or you could two-hand one of the hammers and take advantage of the extra damage you get doing that with the Two-Handed Sword Talisman .

But why build around one giant hammer when you can have two? Both of these colossal hammers have similar attribute requirements, so fulfilling the enormous strength requirements for one means both are in play, and that’s when the fun begins. Wielding both does two important things:

• First, it creates enormous damage potential when you swing both in unison.
• Second, it allows you to deliver blows that tear through enemy poise, leading to frequent stagger that open you up for critical hits. Many fights will end in a single blow, or shortly thereafter.

You can’t change the affinity or Ashes of War on either hammer, but that’s fine because Devonia’s Vortex is exceptional. Not only does it do great damage in its area of effect, but it can be charged up for added effect, and it is great at crushing enemy pose. With that in mind, Devonia’s Hammer should go in your right hand, while the Anvil Hammer goes in the offhand, that way you can use Devonia’s Vortex with a simple touch of a button.

5 Leda's Sword

Physical damage: 101.

This weapon, once wielded by the legendary Needle Knight, Leda, is one of the newest additions to the arsenal of Elden Ring. While it's not a heavy Greatsword, it does decent damage and has a Holy effect that can be great against any enemies susceptible to it . Surprisingly enough, this weapon requires more Dexterity than Strength to wield. This is uncommon for Greatswords, even when they're light.

Leda's Sword has the Needle Piercer Special Ability, which casts yellow projectiles above the wielder and shoots them forward to inflict damage on one or many enemies. This light Greatsword, along with Leda's Armor, can be obtained by looting the corpse of Needle Knight Leda after defeating her in Enir-Ilim. As with other Special Weapons, Leda's Sword can't be infused or buffed with Ashes of War, and it requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade.

4 Rellana's Twin Blades

Physical damage: 103.

Those who have already started their journey through the Land of Shadow have probably already met and fought major boss Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight . With her quick moves, aggressive attacks, and deadly combos, she can kill even the strongest Tarnished with a couple of swings of her swords. Rellana is one of the first skill checks in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Ashes of War provide essential buffs for Elden Ring players, but some are more powerful and more useful than others.

Like Leda's Sword, Rellana's Twin Blades are light Greatswords that require more Dexterity than Strength to wield and have a medium weight of 8. This weapon, however, also scales with Intelligence and Dexterity, allowing players to cover more ground with their Stats, regardless of their build . In addition to Physical damage, Rellana's Twin Blades also inflict Magic and Fire damage. They also have one of the best-looking Special Abilities in the game, making them one of the best new Greatswords in Shadow of the Erdtree.

To obtain these paired Greatswords, players must defeat Rellana and give her Remembrance to Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold. Rellana's Twin Blades can't be infused with Ashes of War, and require Somber Smithing Stones to be upgraded.

Physical Damage: 116

Following along the thread of Light Greatswords, Milady 's place on this list is not just due to its name. The weapon also has great reach, and allows for fast movement and dexterity-based combat. This weapon can be found in Castle Ensis inside a chest at the top of a watchtower. Its Special Ability, Impaling Thrust, allows players to lunge forward and inflict damage on enemies that would otherwise be out of range.

As opposed to the other light Greatswords on this list, players can infuse and buff Milady with any Ash of War, and the weapon only requires regular Smithing Stones to upgrade. The Ash of War: Wing Stance, was designed specifically for this weapon, so players might want to find it and buff Milady with it to see what all the fuss is about.

2 Greatsword Of Solitude

Physical damage: 120.

Moving on to heavy Greatswords , the Greatsword of Solitude is a massive weapon that scales primarily with Strength, and secondarily with Dexterity. As opposed to its light counterparts, this sword requires almost twice as much Strength as it does Dexterity to wield. Used by the Knights of the Solitary Gaol, the Tarnished can obtain the Greatsword of Solitude by defeating the Blackgaol Knight in the Western Nameless Mausoleum.

Greatswords tend to be a high-risk, high-reward endeavor in Elden Ring, offsetting slow attack animations with massive damage and stagger chance.

Similar to most other Greatswords on this list, the Greatsword of Solitude cannot be infused with Ashes of War, and it requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade. Its Special Ability, Solitary Moon Slash, can travel a long distance and strike enemies in a swift thrust.

1 Horned Warrior's Greatsword

Physical damage: 130.

Lastly, another one of the best new Greatswords in Shadow of the Erdtree is the Horned Warrior's Sword. This curved Greatsword scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith. It can be obtained by defeating the Wind-Aspected Horned Warrior towards the end of Enir-Ilim, and it's a guaranteed drop, so players won't have to do any farming.

The Horned Warrior's Greatsword can't be buffed or infused with any Ashes of War, Magic, or Consumables, and it requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade. When paired with the Winged Sword Insignia, the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, and Millicent's Prosthesis, this weapon's Special Ability, Horn Calling: Storm, will receive a massive boost in damage. Requiring 19 Strength, and with a weight of 13, this Greatsword is neither the heaviest nor the most demanding in terms of Stats. However, it packs a huge punch, and is, without a doubt, worth a try.

The scale of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is truly gargantuan, with the size and depth of its map rivaling the entirety of full games . You can easily spend upwards of 40-50 hours exploring its highest peaks, deepest valleys, and everything between — and scattered throughout it all are dozens upon dozens of new weapons, spells, Ash of War skills, armor sets, and more to find an add to your arsenal. Some character types will enjoy a wider selection of fresh gear than others — there are tons of new Faith weapons and spells, and far fewer Intelligence ones — but overall, there's a healthy amount of new kit for everyone in the Land of Shadow.

Since Shadow of the Erdtree came out a few weeks ago, I've been having a ton of fun buildcrafting with these new armaments and creating setups for my favorites that maximize their combat potential — and now, I'd like to share those builds with my fellow Tarnished champions. Below, you'll find the best seven Elden Ring DLC builds I've put together so far, including complete overviews of how each one works as well as which stats, weapons, spells, armors, talismans, and Ashes of War you'll need to make them shine.

NOTE: These builds assume you're Level 150, which is considered the "meta" level for Elden Ring PvE co-op and PvP invasion multiplayer. Many players are going up to 200 for Shadow of the Erdtree, though, so don't be afraid to level up a bit if you need or want to while using one of the below builds. Also, don't forget you can respec stats !

Strength build: Frosthammer Flinger

• Class: Hero
• Minimum stats: 20 STR, 10 DEX, 11 INT, 11 FAI
• Stat priorities: 60 VIG, 60 STR, 25 FAI, 27 END (Medium Load)
• Armor: Crucible Hammer-Helm, Crucible Axe Armor, Crucible Gauntlets and Greaves
• Talismans: Two-Handed Sword Talisman, Axe Talisman, Smithing Talisman OR Shard of Alexander, Two-Headed Turtle Talisman
• Weapons: Cold Smithscript Greathammer (Savage Lion's Claw), Dragon Communion Seal (offhand)

We're starting off with a build for what may be my favorite new weapon in Shadow of the Erdtree: the Smithscript Greathammer, a Greathammer that you can hurl at enemies from afar with heavy attacks for no FP cost whatsoever. Of all the Smithscript throwing weapons, this hammer has the best range and damage, and it also performs exceptionally as a traditional melee weapon, too. Another bonus is that it's hilarious .

My favorite way to use it is with a classic Strength build, though I don't recommend using the Heavy infusion. Instead, go with Cold, which only deals slightly less overall damage but adds tons of Frostbite buildup to each hit you land — melee or thrown. When the Frostbite status effect procs on an enemy, it will deal damage equal to 10% of their max HP (7% for bosses) and weaken them for 30 seconds, increasing all damage they take by 20%. Combined with the sizable buffs you can take advantage of by leveling Faith to 25 and using Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength (cast with something like the Dragon Communion Seal that doesn't have any weight), this weakening effect will help you put out some incredible DPS. Oh, and did I mention that plenty of Shadow of the Erdtree bosses are weak to Frostbite?

You'll have tons of opportunities to fling the hammer at foes while roaming the open world or in a co-op boss fight, but in 1v1s with an aggressive boss, you'll likely have to stick with melee unless you call in some Spirit Ashes . For that reason, you'll want to use heavy protection like Crucible Knight Armor (the DLC even added a Crucible Hammer-Helm that fits the build theme perfectly), along with something like the new Savage Lion's Claw Ash of War that deals a ridiculous amount of both health and stance damage if you're able to land both of its slams (you can opt to use just the first if desired). With it, the weapon will gain unmatched versatility.

The Two-Handed Sword Talisman, Axe Talisman, and Smithing Talisman all boost the damage of the Smithscript Greathammer when you charge up two-handed throws, so I like to use all three along with the Two-Headed Turtle Talisman for speedy stamina regen. In situations when you can't reliably get your tosses off, though, you'll want to switch out the Smithing Talisman for the Shard of Alexander to give Savage Lion's Claw a nice 15% damage boost. As for your Flask of Wondrous Physick, I recommend combining the Strength-Knot Crystal Tear and the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear damage buffs since the Cold infusion splits your damage between Physical and Magic.

Dexterity build: Milady Duelist

• Class: Warrior
• Minimum stats: 12 STR, 17 DEX
• Stat priorities: 60 VIG, 80 DEX, 25 END, 25 MND
• Armor: Rellana's Helm and Greaves, Cuckoo Knight Armor and Gauntlets 
• Talismans: Two-Handed Sword Talisman, Shard of Alexander, Rellana's Cameo, Arrow's Soaring Sting Talisman OR Rotten Winged Sword Insignia
• Weapons: Keen Milady (Wing Stance), Ansbach's Longbow
• Spells: N/A
• Flask: Dexterity-Knot Crystal Tear, Thorny Cracked Tear

Another incredible new weapon from the DLC is Milady , a Light Greatsword with fluid, beautifully animated combos and the best of Greatswords, Straight Swords, and Thrusting Swords combined into one elegant blade. You can take it in several different directions, but for this build I went with a Dexterity setup and a Keen infusion, along with plenty of weapon-buffing grease consumables and the new Light Greatsword-exclusive Wing Stance. This Ash of War allows you to hold the sword out before performing either a flurry of rapid slashes (light attack) or a huge thrust attack (heavy attack), and you can even combo the slashes into the thrust by pressing the heavy attack input after the slashes end.

I've paired Milady with Ansbach's Longbow, which is unquestionably the best bow in Elden Ring for Dexterity builds. Like the Black Bow, it has a Lightbow moveset even though it's not one, meaning you can shoot it quickly while jumping or after rolling; this makes it very reliable to use in boss fights or against tougher enemies. Its unique Ash of War, Fan Shot, shoots eight arrows at once in a spread, and while this does burn through your ammo quickly, it's capable of proccing status effects like Bleed, Poison, Scarlet Rot, and Frostbite in just one or two shots if you're arrows that inflict them.

Armor is up to you, though I recommend using something that gives you good protection (I went with a combination of Rellana's Set and the Cuckoo Knight Set). Talisman-wise, you'll want the Two-Handed Sword Talisman, Shard of Alexander, Rellana's Cameo (the 15% damage boost to your Wing Stance combos after holding your stance for a second or two is massive), and the Arrow's Soaring Sting Talisman so that your arrows hit harder and have less damage falloff. If you'd prefer not to use a bow or are having trouble making good use of it in a boss battle, swap that last one out for Rotten Winged Sword Insignia since you'll be landing lots of attacks rapidly.

Intelligence mage build: Finger Sorcerer

• Class: Astrologer
• Minimum stats: 8 STR, 10 DEX, 60 INT
• Stat priorities: 60 STR, 80 INT, 40 MND
• Armor: High Priest Hat and Robe w/ Finger Robe alteration, heavy gauntlets and greaves
• Talismans: Graven-Mass Talisman, Magic Scorpion Charm, Godfrey Icon, Graven-School Talisman OR Blessed Blue Dew Talisman
• Weapons: Carian Regal Scepter, Magic Rapier, Maternal Staff (offhand)
• Spells: Fleeting Microcosm, Glintstone Nail, Glintstone Nails, Cherishing Fingers, Carian Slicer, and whatever else you want
• Flask: Magic-Shrouded Cracked Tear, Cerulean-Sapping Cracked Tear

After completing Count Ymir's questline , purchasing the spells he offers, and defeating a certain boss , you'll have everything you need to put together a devastatingly effective mage build that has Shadow of the Erdtree's new Finger Sorceries at its heart. By wearing the Finger Robe (you get it by altering the High Priest Robe) and holding the Maternal Staff in your offhand while casting with the Carian Regal Scepter and 80 Intelligence, you'll get excellent base damage with them that will then be boosted by a whopping 23% (and that's before you factor in other Magic buffs you can get, such as the ones from Terra Magica and the Magic-Shrouded Cracked Tear).

Glintstone Nail and Fleeting Microcosm will be your bread-and-butter spells, with the former acting as a harder-hitting, easier-to-land Glintstone Pebble for single targets and the latter allowing you to "nuke" groups of enemies or beefier targets, often killing them in one blast and knocking any survivors to the ground. There's also Glintstone Nails — best used to stagger large bosses like dragons — and Cherishing Fingers, which surrounds you with large fingers that deflect projectiles and heavily damage foes close to you. Cherishing Fingers is an excellent and fairly unique defensive spell, though I do recommend following it up with Carian Slicer slashes and pairing it with a Magic-infused Rapier for additional close-quarters combat options.

The build is rounded out by the Graven-Mass Talisman, the Magic Scorpion Charm, and the Godfrey Icon talismans, all of which give you further damage boosts (Godfrey Icon requires you to charge your spells). Your fourth talisman can either be the Graven-School Talisman for another small sorcery buff, or the Blessed Blue Dew Talisman that slowly regenerates FP over time. A Physick flask with the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear and the new Cerulean-Sapping Cracked Tear is useful, too; notably, the latter will briefly return some of the FP you use to cast spells back to you when they hit your targets.

Faith build: Holy Paladin

• Class: Prophet
• Minimum stats: 25 STR, 11 DEX, 17 FAI
• Stat priorities: 55 VIG, 70 FAI, 23 MND, 28 END (Medium Load)
• Armor: Black Knight Set OR Oathseeker Set (lighter weight)
• Talismans: Erdtree's Favor +2 OR Two-Handed Sword Talisman (with lighter armor), Curved Sword Talisman, Dagger Talisman, Blade of Mercy OR Blessed Blue Dew Talisman
• Weapons: Flame Art Black Steel Greathammer (Flaming Strike or Flame of the Redmanes) OR Sacred Black Steel Greathammer (Prayerful Strike or Sacred Blade), Messmer Soldier Shield (offhand, No Skill), Erdtree Seal, Dryleaf Seal (offhand)
• Spells: Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength, Blessing of the Erdtree OR Blessing's Boon, Protection of the Erdtree (don't cast w/ Flame Grant Me Strength), Erdtree Heal, Heal From Afar, Multilayered Rings of Light
• Flask: Deflecting Hardtear, Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear OR Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear (depending on your infusion)

Though this build uses a Greathammer, it's actually not a Strength/Faith setup, and that's because the new Black Steel Greathammer scales far better with the Faith-based Flame Art and Sacred infusions than anything else (Flame Art gets the highest damage). It also has a decent Physical damage negation of 72% while blocking and a unique guard counter that creates Holy explosions, which is what inspired me to use it with the DLC's "Sekiro Tear," AKA the Deflecting Hardtear for the Flask of Wondrous Physick.

When used, the Deflecting Hardtear allows you to deflect attacks Sekiro-style with perfectly timed blocks for five minutes, reducing their damage and stamina drain to almost nothing. These deflections also buff the damage of follow-up guard counters, which will then likely stance break whatever you're fighting after a few of these land (Greathammers are exceptional at staggering enemies), leaving them open to a critical strike. With the Curved Sword Talisman, you'll stack an additional 20% boost on top of the buff the Deflecting Hardtear gives to guard counters, while the Dagger Talisman makes critical hits on enemies and bosses you stagger with these guard counters deal 17% additional damage. The Blade of Mercy then gives you a 20% boost to all damage for 20 seconds after you land a crit — and yes, that stacks multiplicatively with the aforementioned buffs. Provided you've learned a boss' moveset well enough to consistently deflect its attacks, you'll be shocked at how fast you can smite them to death with this loop.

For your fourth talisman, you'll need the Erdtree's Favor +2 to have a Medium Load with the Black Knight Set I've chosen for the build, though you could swap it to the Two-Handed Sword Talisman if you choose to use lighter armor. I also recommend equipping a good medium shield capable of blocking 100% physical damage like the Messmer Soldier Shield and using it when your Flask of Wondrous Physick buff isn't active (I wish the Deflecting Hardtear was a talisman).

For spells, I opted to cast with the Erdtree Seal and typically use the usual Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength buffs (you can use damage mitigation spells like Protection of the Erdtree instead of Flame Grant Me Strength if you want), as well as HP regen incantations like Blessing of the Erdtree or Blessing's Boon that help replenish any health lost from chip damage or missed blocks while deflecting. I also use Erdtree Heal and Heal From Afar to support co-op summons and Spirit Ashes, and Multilayered Ring of Light (with the Dryleaf Seal in the offhand for a 15% damage buff) as a ranged damage tool. Note that you may want to swap the Blade of Mercy out for the Blessed Blue Dew Talisman if you want to use spells more frequently, especially in co-op.

Arcane build: Poisonous Perfumer

• Class: Bandit
• Minimum stats: 9 STR, 13 DEX, 18 ARC
• Stat priorities: 60 VIG, 70 ARC, 25 FAI, 23 END
• Armor: Mushroom Crown, Scaled Set
• Talismans: Kindred of Rot's Exultation, Shard of Alexander, Shattered Stone Talisman, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia
• Weapons: Occult Venomous Fang (The Poison Flower Blooms Twice), Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle, Poisoned Hand (offhand)
• Spells: Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength, Flame Cleanse Me, Blessing's Boon OR Bestial Vitality, Rotten Breath
• Flask: Thorny Cracked Tear, Greenburst Crystal Tear

Hey, an Arcane build that doesn't have Bleed! That's right: while Poison builds have always been pretty mediocre in Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree added a new Ash of War called The Poison Flower Blooms Twice that instantly made them a powerful option for Arcane users. When used, it allows you to perform a speedy kick that not only deals a ton of Scarlet Rot buildup, but also instantly "pops" the enemy for all the damage they would have taken over time from Poison or Scarlet Rot they're currently afflicted with.

The best weapon to put this skill on is the Venomous Fang Claws, as it builds Poison up with its attacks intrinsically and has excellent damage scaling when infused with Arcane — a stat that also ramps up status effect buildup on any weapon that scales with it. Put simply, when set to Occult, Venomous Fang deals great damage and inflicts Poison ridiculously fast, allowing you to proc The Poison Flower Blooms Twice damage chunks frequently. Unlike the similar Ash of War Poison Moth Flight, The Poison Flower Blooms Twice can also "pop" foes afflicted by Scarlet Rot, which the skill will inflict itself after a few uses.

Why call this the Poisonous Perfumer build, then? Well, as a secondary, I like to use the new Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle weapon to build up Poison on an opponent from medium range in scenarios where I'm having trouble getting lots of attacks in up close. Its Deadly Perfume Spray Ash of War is also fantastic for inflicting Poison on crowds of mobs or players in PvP. Note that Deadly Perfume Spray also poisons you , but thanks to the build's final touches I'll go over below, that won't be a problem.

By investing levels to get Faith to 25, you can use Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength for more damage and protection, tools like Flame Cleanse Me and Bestial Vitality to help counteract self-inflicted poison from Deadly Perfume Spray, and even the Rotten Breath Dragon Communion spell to inflict Scarlet Rot from long distances.

For armor, go with the Scaled Set for strong defenses, along with the Mushroom Crown; with this headgear, a Poisoned Hand weapon in your offhand, and the Kindred of Rot's Exultation Talisman, you'll get an incredible 42% damage buff whenever you proc Poison on an enemy or yourself. You can take that buff even higher by proccing Milicent's Prosthesis or Rotten Winged Sword Insignia with Venomous Fang's rapid attacks, and with Shard of Alexander and the Shattered Stone Talisman, you'll boost the power of your The Poison Flower Blooms Twice kicks, too.

Strength/Faith build: Death Knight

• Class: Vagabond
• Minimum stats: 23 STR, 12 DEX, 18 FAI
• Stat priorities: 60 VIG, 60 STR, 36 FAI, 23 END (Medium Load)
• Armor: Death Knight Set w/ Malformed Dragon Greaves
• Talismans: Two-Headed Turtle Talisman, Two-Handed Sword Talisman OR Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Shard of Alexander, Carian Filigreed Chest OR Blessed Blue Dew Talisman
• Weapons: Death Knight's Longhaft Axe OR Death Knight's Twin Axes, Clawmark Seal, Gravel Stone Seal (offhand)
• Spells: Knight's Lightning Spear (and other Dragon Cult spells), Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength, Blessing's Boon OR Bestial Vitality

Most Lightning-focused builds in Elden Ring are Dexterity setups since the element's damage typically scales with that stat, but this one is actually a Strength/Faith setup since its two weapons — the Death Knight's Longhaft Axe and the Death Knight's Twin Axes — perform best with those attributes. Both are phenomenal, and have made this one of my favorite builds from this list.

The Ash of War on both weapons allows you to "blinkbolt" forward with some iframes, and following up with a heavy attack allows you to perform a special high-damage move. With the Death Knight's Longhaft Axe, this is a leap into the air that ends with a slam and a heavy lightning strike, while with the Death Knight's Twin Axes it's a flurry of spinning, Lightning-infused slashes. I use the Two-Handed Sword Talisman when wielding the former and the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia while using the latter, and always have Shard of Alexander equipped. The Two-Headed Turtle Talisman helps with stamina management, and using either the Carian Filigreed Crest or the Blessed Blue Dew Talisman does the same for FP.

With 36 Faith, I also love using Shadow of the Erdtree's new Knight's Lightning Spear with this build, which is essentially just a direct upgrade to Lightning Spear that adds additional bolt projectiles and damage (definitely charge it, as doing so will create more extra lightning bolts). It's best to cast this with the Clawmark Seal — it's the best for most Strength/Faith setups — while holding a Gravel Stone Seal in the offhand, as it boosts Knight's Lightning Spear and other Dragon Cult incantations by 15%.

The use of every part of the Death Knight Set except the greaves for your armor rounds out the build, as each piece gives the aforementioned Death Knight weapon skills and Dragon Cult spells like Knight's Lightning Spear a 2% buff. You could use all four pieces to get a full 8% increase, but I prefer using the Malformed Dragon Greaves since they'll get your Poise over the 51 threshold (many enemy attacks will stagger you out of your animations if you're below this). As with all other builds that incorporate Faith, you should also use Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength.

Hybrid build: Mage Monk

• Class: Prisoner
• Minimum stats: 8 STR, 8 DEX
• Stat priorities: 35 STR, 35 DEX, 40 INT, 24 END
• Armor: Dane's Hat, Dryleaf Robe and Cuissardes
• Talismans: Blue Dancer Charm, Milicent's Prosthesis OR Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Shard of Alexander, Shattered Stone Talisman OR Godfrey Icon OR Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman

I'd be remiss to finish this list without a build that uses the Hand-to-Hand martial arts weapons , but don't worry: whether you're using Dryleaf Arts or Dane's Footwork, you'll have a blast with this one — provided you don't mind playing as a bit of a glass cannon. It features an unorthodox stat spread that takes full advantage of the Cold infusion on these weapons, which gives them C scaling in Strength and Dexterity, B scaling in Intelligence, and plenty of Frostbite buildup.

With 35 in Strength and Dexterity, 40 in Intelligence, and a total weight beneath 16 units so you can take advantage of the Blue Dancer Charm talisman, you'll be hitting enemies for stellar DPS while also proccing Frostbite, weakening them and interrupting their animations so you can keep attacking them rapidly. Your kung fu combos will also quickly activate the effects of Milicent's Prosthesis or Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, giving you even more of a damage buff.

The biggest weakness of Hand-to-Hand in Elden Ring is that it's terrible for dealing with multiple mobs at once due to its extremely short range and complete lack of horizontal cleaving attacks, which is where Divine Beast Frost Stomp — the Ash of War you can get with the Remembrance of the Divine Beast Dancing Lion — comes in. This skill creates a huge cone of ice shards in front of you that deal tons of damage and proc Frostbite near-instantaneously, giving you a terrific way to handle crowds.

Shard of Alexander is a must to make Divine Beast Frost Stomp hit even harder, but your last talisman slot is a flex pick. The Shattered Stone Talisman buffs both the skill and the kicks in your Hand-to-Hand moveset by 10%, Godfrey Icon boosts Divine Beast Frost Stomp by an additional 15% when you fully charge it, and Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman will reduce incoming physical damage by 20%; switch between these based on what you need. For your Flask of Wondrous Physick, use the Thorny Cracked Tear and Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear for some bonus damage buffs.
