Postdoc Position in Scientific Computing, Jena, Germany

The Theoretical Physics Institute at the University of Jena anticipates the availability of a postdoc position in October 2024.

The position is associated with the research group of Prof. Bernd Bruegmann at the TPI Jena. It combines research in scientific computing and high performance computing with tasks regarding computer infrastructure, services and hardware at the TPI. There is the opportunity to participate in a wide range of research activities in the area of general relativity and related fields. Applicants with a background in numerical relativity, gravitational wave science, or associated computational and mathematical methods are especially encouraged to apply.

Please submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae with a list of publications, a brief description of research interests, and a list of three potential referees, who will be contacted separately. To qualify for the position, applicants must hold a PhD degree or equivalent in Physics or related fields. Candidates with severe disabilities will be given preference in the case of equal qualifications and suitability.

Applications should be received no later than August 26, 2024, but applications will be considered until the position is filled.
