Delivery options for in-house training, face-to-face, live online, or hybrid class tailored to your needs.
When you want a tailored learning experience targeting exactly what you want without bringing everyone physically together, the best choice is a Live Online Class run by PDT.
We tailor the content and activities to be specific to your current needs and the needs of the people and run the course in our usual activity-based workshop style training, however, the participants can all be offsite, or some can be in the room with others offsite.
Unless you have a preferred tools we use 'Zoom for Education' that includes enhanced collaboration features such as One-click content sharing, real-time co-annotation (people can work together in activity files), and digital whiteboarding, we also include things like live polls and group chats so you virtually have the same collaborative learning experience of attending a course in a room with other people.
We have delivered these 100's (if not 1000's) of times, and get great outcomes. We achieve great outcomes because we keep our learner centric approach - just because it’s delivered through a screen to some or all participants doesn’t mean it needs to be less tailored or less personalised.
You still have an expert trainer who talks to you prior to the session and tailors the delivery to use your terminology, ensure activities are relevant and directly applicable and ensures an engaging learning experience that provide people with skills and techniques they can apply the very next day.
A hybrid class is with some people connecting online, and some people physically together in the same room.
90% overall trainer rating, 88% delivery was adapted to me personally, 75% i would recommend this course to someone else, face to face options with everyone in the same room.

This practical Advanced Presentation Skills course, using our Theatre Based Learning approach, fully utilises the talents of our actor – delivering an engaging message whatever the subject matter.
We help to embed the learning but having the chance to observe what works and what doesn’t and giving each learner a chance to present with stop/start feedback throughout and immediate tips on how to enhance the delivery.
We provide follow up support for all of our learners. They can contact the trainer for any further tips. This therefore ensures that when they do next present, they have someone they can run their ideas past and gain support and feedback before delivering the real thing.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
0.1 what is theatre based learning.
Theatre Based Learning is the technique we use to bring learning to life by using our actors to perform scenarios, based on real case studies.
Theatre Based Learning can be either observational (where learners watch scenes and discuss) OR participative (where we use techniques like real-play and practice, forum where learners interact with the actors and direct them or hot-seating where learners give feedback to individual characters and make suggestions). This course uses our actors to both demonstrate presentation skills and often made mistakes and techniques with the ability for all learners to present and receive feedback
0.3 why are presentation skills important in the workplace, 0.4 why should i use ted learning for advanced presentation skills.
This advanced presentation skills course can be delivered using live actors and face to face training using our online “theatre of learning”.
Video showcase ..
Discussing and learning in the traditional ‘class-room’ is effective, but long-term memory is better stimulated by having an experience. Our approach using experiential and drama-based learning methods delivers this and leads to more sustained learning.

Sustained blended learning ..
Our training is observational and participative, using teams of actors to bring it to life. We recognise that taking part in role-play is not for everyone, so we offer observational training – this is where two of our acting team demonstrate scenes related to the course and delegates observe and comment on the behaviors. Where a business is more confident working with actors, we take this to the next level with participative training so delegates get to practice their newly learnt skills.
All our learners have full access to our ted Learning HuB – our bespoke platform that enables all learners to continue the engagement with the trainer and actors, see latest case-studies and blogs from the ted learning team and engage with other learners, discussing their own challenges and successes. Desktop, mobile, or tablet – the ted Learning HuB engages learners with training accessible anytime, anywhere, on any device.

I find that 9 our of 10 courses i attend are not worthwhile. This was the 1 in 10 that was!
It was a great practical session that immediately provided useful tools and suggested improvements for my future presentations.
I found this by far the best course for teaching practical examples on how to structure a presentation. As a company it will be very valuable to have a consistent approach to how we prepare and deliver presentations. We now have a common language to use through our business. We will be putting it into practice from today.

These are skills and qualities one should possess in order to develop and deliver a clear and understandable oration. Public speaking skill decides how far your thoughts are comprehended to the targeted audience. It is necessary to engage the audience throughout your speaking.
Verbal communication.
Your choice of words plays an important role. Avoid difficult words, and use only words that can be understood by the audience instantly.
Know to control your breath while speaking. Place the microphone at a right distance.
Not all the public speakers use presentation slides. Slides are catchy, and keep the audience engaged.
Study about your audience before you start. Speak according to the mood of the audience.
Practice in front of a mirror. Practice until you are confident about yourself.
Wear a comfortable dress that does not disturb your attitude. Follow the dress code, if any.
Be present at the venue at least before half an hour. This will keep you calm and composed.
Prepare notes. Jot down important points, and do not forget to take it to the event.
Earmark the notes you carry to the event. This will avoid cluttering of the papers while turning the pages.
You should make the audience feel like you are the leader of the day’s event. This enables them to lend ears to you.
This includes your pauses, your stress on a word, and your tone. Be polite.
Try to add few humorous phrases when you speak. This will improve your connectivity with the audience.
Do not stammer. Stop, give a pause and continue. Do not use words like “uuh”, “umm”.
Prepare your oration according to the time provided to you. Do not exceed the time limit.
Make eye contact with the audience. Do not recite the points looking at the notes you carry.
Develop a rapport with your audience to make them feel like you are speaking directly to them.
Your gestures and body language has the capability to turn the audience to you. This creates a bond between you and your audience.
You can create a story to convey your ideas to the audience. This will help you grab the attention of the audience.
Be interactive with your audience. Ask them general questions, and make them participate in your oration.
Be ready to face any criticisms. You should be able to start off right from where you left after the criticisms and questions from the audience.
The questions, the surroundings, the mood of the audience may be stressful to you. The ability to manage your stress during public speaking is important.

Tuesday, 15th october 2024 - spk234.
Let's get one thing out of the way. This method has nothing to do with stringing wall-to-wall slides together and using them to prompt you. I'm going to assume that the screen is blank unless your words need specific visual support. In other words: this will be about how to organize your thoughts swiftly for an effective presentation.
Here's the essence:
Follow me through this simplified, fictional example.
You're an IT Manager. You're about to present to the board, to recommend what your research reveals as the best replacement for the computer hardware and network system. The existing system is obsolete. It's low spec, it's slow, it can't handle modern demands, particularly security. In one year, outage frequency has doubled, maintence costs have tripled. Your proposed new system would have cutting edge specs, including world standard security. It would be designed and installed by Compak Solutions, which has a reputation for reliability. Although the cost is high - $7 million - it will pay for itself within 3 years. Compak will guarantee maintenance and future-proofing for the next 4 years.
1. Write a purpose statement (first words after the greeting)
I want to recommend a replacement for our obsolete computer system.
Note that it's not a 'talk-about' title (e.g. 'I want to talk about the computer system'). Instead, it's why you're really there, your real purpose, what you really want to achieve with the audience: make a recommendation.
2. Write your key messages as the subheadings
What must be said. Here are three likely ones you might choose:
We're at crisis point now / The new system will fit our needs / It would pay for itself in 3 years
Note how dynamic those subheadings are. How different from the usual way with neutral subheadings (which, in this example, might have been Background / Proposed system / What's ahead, or the standard What / Why / How structure.
3. List supporting detail under each - in order of importance
There's a bonus to listing in order of importance. If you turn up with your 30 minute presentation and the chair tells you you've now only got 3 minutes, it's very easy to drop the bottom points in each list. You will still have a dynamic, effective presentation.
Any worries about identifying the key messages? Here's a tip. Imagine that your audience is standing up and about to walk and you have to blurt out what they really must know in a just a few short words. Chances are you'll get your key messages right there.
Have fun. Organise to grab and hold their attention.
We can help your presenters engage their audiences – whether they are speaking at major conferences, presenting to the community or colleagues, or speaking up at a meeting. Learn more
Like public speaking, the prospect of presenting to a group can make people nervous. It can however, like public speaking, help you progress your career and give you a reputation for being a reliable, engaging presenter. Whether you’re in a role that is called on to present often or on an ad hoc basis, it pays to improve and develop your presentation skills so when the time comes, you’re prepared and confident. Here are our top presentation tips.
While the content of presentations will vary depending on your role, industry, level of seniority and the organisational strategies and goals you work to, presentations tend to be delivered with one of these purposes in mind:
Example: A CFO presenting the end of financial year results to the business, or IT announcing an organisation-wide software review.
Example: The Administration team presenting a new project management tool to be adopted by the department, or Marketing presenting the new brand guidelines to the organisation.
Example: A Sales Manager presenting products and services to potential clients, or an Accountant vying to get their new reconciliation process across the line with the executive team.
Example: The CEO presenting a new strategic vision to the organisation with ambitious new financial goals, or an executive presenting a partnership with a not-for-profit.
Your presentation skills will improve every time you do it, and your confidence will grow too. To fast track your development, employ these presentation tips while you research, prepare, practice and deliver your next presentation.
Most employees will be called on to present at some point in their career, whether it’s explaining a report in a weekly team meeting, or proposing a new business model to board members. Use these presentation tips to ensure that you’re confident and ready, and that you use every presentation as an opportunity to enhance your skills.
