The IGNOU has released the guidelines that students must comply while preparing and submitting their assignments. Here are the updated guidelines:

All the assignment should be hand written.

Students must use A4 ruled paper (unless it is instructed on your TMA).

Leave 4 cm margin on left and right side of each page.

Do not use staplers, to bind the pages; you use need threads (what is typically found with cover files).

Avoid using any ink colour other than blue and black.

First you need to attach the cover page (You will find it at your study centre).

Then, attach a photocopy of your IGNOU ID card.

After that, attach a copy of your TMA (question paper on your assignment document).

Lastly, attach your hand written answers.

Leave one blank page in the end.

Do not use any files while submitting your assignments. Your assignment should only consist of the pages, tied with a thread.

You must take a submission receipt, which will be stamped by the study centre with submission dates. In case, your study centre is unable to provide you one, take a photocopy of the cover page of your assignment and get that stamped.

Note: For submission of practicals, you need to use a cover file.

As we all know that the last date for submission of the IGNOU Assignment for the TEE June 2024 session is now over. Therefore, we hope that the IGNOU RCs across the country have also begun to update the IGNOU Assignment Status Online for the most recent TEE session June 2024. IGNOU assignment status and marks for TEE December 2023 are now uploaded with the TEE Result December 2023 so keep checking the assignment status regularly to get your marks. If you already submitted the IGNOU Assignment for the session December 2023 to your study centre or through online or offline mode then you don’t have to wait for more time. The link to check your assignment status and marks is now updated to confirm whether it gets updated online or not. The assignment status and marks for June & December 2023 are generally updated with the TEE Result for June & December 2023 respectively.

IGNOU Assignment Status Update Process & Time

After submission of assignments through any of the available methods, the assignments goes for an evaluation to the evaluator of the study centre or regional centre. Once the Evaluator has successfully evaluated your assignment then they will either upload your marks directly on the IGNOU Official Site or it will be sent to IGNOU Delhi for updating online and thereafter it can be seen by each student to get their report. IGNOU Assignment Result and Marks 2024

The assignment status will show you when the evaluation is done. The university will start updating your marks on the grade card as soon as the evaluation of the assignments is done. So, you must check the grade card after the assignment status says you to do so.

Step – 1 – Visit the official IGNOU portal at www.ignou.ac.in and go to Student Zone.

Step – 2 –  Search for Results and click on it.

Step – 3 – From the left panel, click on Grade Card.

Step – 4 – Provide your program, course, and enrolment number to search and get your grade card.

As you see your grade card, you can check whether the university has updated your assignment marks on it or not. If the search results are leading to an error, this means the university has not yet started updating the grade cards of the students for this semester.

What If IGNOU Assignment Status Is Not Updated?

Sometimes the update process of IGNOU Assignment status gets delayed for an unknown reason like the evaluation of assignments is delayed in the concerned study centre or maybe the regional centre has not uploaded your assignment marks online. Candidates can wait till the declaration of the result to get updates on their assignment but if you are not able to find your assignment status or marks even after the release of the TEE Result then you need to connect with centre where you submitted your assignments.

How to Download IGNOU Assignment 2024?  

The students can download the assignment papers by following these steps: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of the university at ignou.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Student Support’ option, then click on ‘Student Zone’.

Step 3: Click on the option ‘Assignments’ and you will be redirected to the question papers.

Step 4: Select your respective course and download the assignment papers. 

Is it Compulsory to Submit IGNOU Assignment 2024?  

Assignments carry a total number of 30% marks in the overall percentage of a candidate, thus, it is compulsory for every student to submit the assignments within the stipulated time. It will increase one’s performance report on the grade card. Without assignments, the course is incomplete and one must necessarily submit it. The students must score at least 40% marks to pass and thereafter for filling the exam form to appear in the Term End Examination (TEE). 

Guidelines for Writing IGNOU Assignment 2024

Assignments constitute the continuous evaluation component of a course. They can be done in your home or workplace or library or any other place you think has the right environment. 

• It is important to write the answers in your own words. The university follows a strict “No Plagiarism” policy and it will not accept the assignments if plagiarised. 
• The study material provided to you is the best source to refer for writing answers. 
• The answers should be precise, well documented and relevant to the question. A reasonably adequate response can be presented within the required word limit.
• Whenever you receive a set of assignments, check them immediately. If there are some missing or blank pages, contact your concerned Regional Director.
• For your own record, retain a copy of all the answers to the assignments you submitted to the Coordinator of your Study Centre. It will help you in the future to prepare for Term End Examinations.

IGNOU Assignments can be submitted through Online and Offline modes. The mode of submission for assignments varies based on the respective study centers. Students can check the mode of assignment submission by visiting the official website of their respective regional center. IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Online Mode:

IGNOU assignments can be submitted online mode by filling out the Google form or sending an email to the respective study centers of their respective regional center. Step-by-Step process to submit IGNOU assignments through Google form or email is as follows:

Students can follow the steps given below to submit their IGNOU Assignment using Google Forms:

• Visit the official website of IGNOU @ignou.ac.in.
• Click on “Regional Network” on the menu bar and then click on “Regional Centers” from the drop-down menu.
• Now Click on the “Regional Center’s Websites” and navigate to your respective regional center of IGNOU.
• Now visit the official website of your selected regional center’s website and click on “News and Event” on the homepage of the RC’s official website
• Now click on “Assignment Guidelines” or “Assignment Submission” where you’ll get the Google form link.
• By clicking on the Google form link, a new Google form for assignment submission will be open in a new tab.
• Now fill in all the important details such as name, enrolment number, subject code, and others.
• Upload all the scanned copies of assignment in the PDF format (make sure the file size does not exceed 100 MB) and submit the form.

IGNOU Assignment Submission through Email:

IGNOU has started accepting assignments via email. This facility might not be available for all study centers of your respective regional centers. If the Google Form submission is not available or the quota is full, students can submit their assignments by sending an email to their respective regional centers. The step-by-step process to submit IGNOU assignments via email is as follows:

• Find the official email address of your respective regional center through the official website of IGNOU under the “Regional Network” on the homepage.
• Mention all the important details of the IGNOU Assignment Front Page such as enrolment number, program name, subject code, study center code/name, session, contact details, etc.
• Attach all the scanned copies of your assignment in PDF format and send an email to your respective regional center.

After submitting the assignment via email, students will receive an acknowledgment email which might take a few hours. If you have still not received the email, check whether your study center is accepting through email or there’s a Google form link to submit the assignment. Students must note that many IGNOU Regional Centers are not sending acknowledgment emails so you don’t need to worry about it and keep checking the assignment submission status. ​

IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Offline Mode:

Students are required to visit their respective Study or Regional Centers to submit the assignments for their respective courses. It is necessary to submit the assignments before filling the Term End Examination form. Go through the following points to know more about the submission process for assignments: 

• Write your Enrollment Number, Name, Full Address, Signature, and Date on the top of the first page of your response sheet. It must look like this - 

• Read the assignments carefully and follow the instructions, if any, given along with the questions.
• Go through the units on which the assignments are based. Note the important points related to the questions and rearrange them in a logical order and write a rough outline for your answer. 
• Use A4 size paper for writing your responses and tie all the pages carefully. Allow a margin on the left side and a few lines in between each answer. This will help the evaluator to write comments on the margin. 
• Do not print or type the answers and write the responses to assignments in your own handwriting.
• You must answer each question separately on a separate set of papers. Write the question number carefully before answering.
• The completed assignment must be submitted at the address communicated to you by the Regional Center or your program coordinator. 
• After submitting the assignment, get the duly signed acknowledgment slip from the Coordinator.

Weightage of IGNOU Assignment 2024

IGNOU Assignment Status 2024

IGNOU assignment status or marks have been uploaded with the TEE Result for the June 2024 session. Therefore, it is requested that the student keep a check on the official website. If you have already submitted the assignment then doesn’t need to worry about the same.

IGNOU Assignment Submission Deadline 2024

One must note that any assignment for the June TEE 2024 session or December TEE 2024 must be handed personally or digitally to the appointed regional center. As of now, the current deadline for submitting the June TEE assignment is May 31, 2024. As per the official information, candidates need to submit the assignment before 30 September 2024. After this date, no assignment will be accepted.

Here’s how the student will be able to check the result of the assignment that has been submitted to them:

IGNOU Assignment Guidelines

It is advised that all candidates will have to submit their projects either online via email, Google Links, or offline in in-person at their respective Regional Centres. In order to submit their assignments, the university has given students the following instructions, which must be followed.

• All assignments must be handwritten.
• Each assignment should start with the student’s name, enrollment number, study center code, course code, email address, and phone number. 
• The student will have to sign each sheet before scanning them.
• All scanned coursework must be in PDF format. 
• The scanned file should be clear and can be scanned either by a cam scanner or mobile phone.
• At the time of sending MEG1 assignments, the file name should include the enrollment and course numbers, like 2564879528 MEG1.

For the IGNOU assignment to get updated and uploaded, a total of 40 days is required after the submission to the concerned study or regional center.

The IGNOU assessment for the June TEE 2024 session can be submitted by going to the concerned regional center or online. Those who successfully submit their assignment will be eligible to appear for the End-Term Examination. 

The last date to submit the assignment for 2024 is 30 September 2024.

IGNOU assignment submission status shows the present status of assignment mark or grades transmitted to IGNOU Head Quarter located at New Delhi. The NEW link to check assignment status is given in Table below . The assignment status database is migrated from old server to new server. This data is forwarded by Study Centre or Regional Center and can be checked on ignou.ac.in portal . On this same platform you can check the status of project and practical status also.

IGNOU Assignment status is displayed generally after 30 to 40 days from the final last date for that TEE session (June / December). Many Reasons for non reflection of assignment status is listed below. IGNOU Assignment status for December 2023 has started showing now on the website. It indicates the course code for which assignment data is entered and sent.

IGNOU Assignment status shows almost 95% completed for December 2023 Session. Assignment portal has started showing the status " Received to be processed " online. Study Centers has almost completed feeding data in the transmission portal for TEE December 2023 session . IGNOU assignment status June 2023 is almost completed and is being shown on the intermediate portal online as well in the Grade card also. Click here to Check your present assignment status.

Question : I Submitted Assignment in September - October but mark is not showing.

Answer : This assignment status reflects in January / February. So student need to wait till February.

The Status of IGNOU assignment for June session starts showing on the portal from July onwards. In the same way December session assignment status starts showing in January. The Process of forwarding the marks of assignment the study center has just started for December session.

Assignment status is updated in this intermediate portal when mark / grade is transmitted by Study Center or RC. Status can be checked online minimum after one month of submission. Assignment, Practical, Project marks status first reflects on this intermediate portal, later it is updated in IGNOU Grade card.

Why My IGNOU assignment status showing online but not updated in grade card ?

There are some cases when Assignment grades are not reflected in Online IGNOU Grade Card even if it is forwarded by Study Center and it appears in intermediate status of assignment portal with the status “ Check Grade Card Status for detail” .  The possible reason for non updation of assignment mark in grade card is given below

Reason 1 : The first possible reason for such cases is, student may have submitted the assignment to the Study Center before their due  session and without completing minimum duration of study.

Example : Student of Jan 2021 admission Cycle (MEG which is Year based) is eligible to submit assignment in Sept / October 2021 – for TEE DEC 2021 Session. If such student submits assignment for TEE June 2021session then data of such student will not be updated on the grade card. In such case student need to contact study center or Regional center for further guidance.

Reason 2 : The Second possible reason for such cases is, Student submit the assignment to the Study Center after their maximum validity of Admission.

This is the sole responsibility of students to submit the assignment in correct session and after completion of minimum duration and before the maximum Admission Validity or else marks will not be updated in the grade card. For further clarity contact your regional center.

When shouId I see IGNOU Assignment submission status ?

The status of assignment submitted for June Session  starts reflecting on the website from  June / July  month. Similarly the status of assignment submitted for December Session  starts reflecting on the website from December / January  month.
