Year 5 Multiples Worksheets | KS2 Multiplication & Division | Primary Maths

Year 5 | Multiples Worksheets

In these Year 5 multiples worksheets , there are six various one-digit numbers shown. The task is for your class to write down five multiples for each of these numbers, making sure they don’t exceed 100. After that, pupils will need to identify a common multiple for two specified numbers, like 4 and 10. To conclude, the worksheet includes statements about multiples. Learners are required to read each statement and provide examples to explain whether the statement is correct or incorrect.

With the help of these Year 5 multiples worksheets, engaging with multiples improves children’s fluency in multiplication, helping them quickly recall and apply multiplication facts. Working with multiples helps children develop a strong understanding of the concept of multiples and how they relate to multiplication.

Our Year 5 multiples worksheets are aligned with KS2 multiplication and division on the primary national curriculum. All of our Year 5 multiplication worksheets can be combined with your ideas for primary maths activities, learning resources, teaching material, visual aids, games, differentiation, display boards, homework, and lesson plans.

Here you’ll find all our Year 5 maths worksheets, and Year 5 maths tests that are suitable for use during classroom lessons and as homework.

  • What to expect from our Year 5 Maths worksheets

These KS2 maths worksheets cover every part of the Year 5 primary maths curriculum, to help your children practise and gain confidence in their understanding ahead of Year 6 and the KS2 SATs . Their focus is on retrieval practice – going over topics that children should already have covered and helping them strengthen their knowledge and understanding.

Most of our worksheets come in pdf format, and all of them are printable. But if you’re running out of printer ink, they can be viewed online too.

Every Year 5 maths test or worksheet comes with its own answer sheet, and guidance from the National Curriculum is included wherever it might be needed (for example, if there might be more than one correct answer for a question). Some worksheets also include model answers to help children break down the best way to solve a problem.

Note: The National Curriculum does not specify any place value teaching for Year 5. However this is often a good time to begin revising the topic (among others) in preparation for the KS2 SATs. Have a look at these place value worksheets as part of your revision.

Similarly, addition and subtraction work is largely an extension of what was covered in previous years. Take a look at our collection of addition and subtraction worksheets for practice materials for these topics.

As a child gets closer to Year 6 and the Key Stage 2 SATs, it’s important they get used to the timings and styles of questions they might face. Our Year 5 maths tests includes two assessments – one arithmetic paper and one reasoning paper – with SATS style questions created by our curriculum experts, answers and a mark scheme with detailed explanations of how to solve each question.

Both papers should take about one hour to complete, and cover every part of the curriculum, from place value to geometry and 3d shapes. This makes them useful for checking children’s overall understanding of the maths they’ve learned in Year 5, as well as providing them with exam practice.

Disaster on the 11th of September? Seems a bit tasteless, haha! I love the factor webs though.

For the question relating to when the homework is given out, I assumed the starting date of Tues 11th Sept meaning Maths home work is always set on a Tuesday so the next time they are all set together is Tues 23rd Oct.

‘He just wanted to go swimming’: Family devastated after their 5-year-old drowns in pool

OPELIKA, Ala. ( WTVM /Gray News) - A harmless summer activity turned deadly Thursday for an Alabama family.

Opelika police said they responded to a possible drowning call at a local apartment complex and arriving officers found a small child unresponsive.

First responders performed CPR on the boy, later identified as 5-year-old Kyrie Jefferson, but he did not survive.

Kyrie’s mother, Keiasha Bulger, said his death has devastated the family.

She said her boy was always full of joy.

“He was sweet,” she said. “He used to wake up every morning and tell me how much he loved me and how pretty I was. When you looked in his eyes, you saw joy.”

Bulger’s Aunt, Tracie Chatmon, said Kyrie’s smile was contagious.

“Kyrie was a good baby, always happy and smiling,” Chatmon said.

Officers said Kyrie was taken to East Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

“We’re going to miss him. He just wanted to go swimming,” Chatmon said. “You know how kids think they can swim, but the water is nothing to play with.”

Chatmon said the entire family has been left in shock and is in mourning.

“His mom is taking it real hard,” Chatmon said. “He was her only baby. We’re just asking y’all to keep us in your prayers.”

The family said that anyone who has kids who are swimming over the summer to make sure a lifeguard is present and they have the necessary help.

Hunter Goodman has 2 homers, 4 hits and 5 RBIs in Rockies’ 16-4 rout of Pirates

DENVER (AP) — Hunter Goodman had two homers and five RBIs in his first four-hit game, Ryan McMahon doubled twice and stole home, and the Colorado Rockies scored their most runs in two years in a 16-4 rout of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday night.

Goodman made his second big league start at catcher and put the Rockies ahead with a 440-foot solo homer in the third inning against rookie Jared Jones (4-6). He doubled in a run in a three-run fourth, singled and scored in the sixth, hit a 429-foot, two-run homer in the seventh off Justin Bruihl and had an an RBI groundout in a six-run eighth that included Michael Toglia’s grand slam against Dennis Santana.

“We’ve been working on some stuff in the cage over the last few weeks,” said Goodman, who had 70 homers in the minor leagues the last two seasons, “trying to work on consistency with my move in the box and working on staying under control and being a little shorter to the ball. It helped tonight, for sure.”

Colorado had six doubles, a triple and three home runs in its highest-scoring game since a 16-5 win over St. Louis on Aug. 9, 2022.

“Outstanding both ways,” Colorado manager Bud Black said of Goodman. “He’s learning about big league pitching. There’s power in there. Tonight is a sign of something he can do.”

Andrew McCutchen and Nick Gonzales homered for the Pirates, who had won their previous five games at Coors Field. McCutchen joined Jeff Kent and Giancarlo Stanton as the only visiting players to homer in five straight games at the mile-high ballpark.

Pittsburgh gave up its most runs since a 16-0 loss against the New York Yankees on July 6, 2022.

“We have to flush it,” Pittsburgh manager Derek Shelton said. “We just didn’t play well.”

McMahon doubled in the fifth and capped a two-run inning with a delayed steal of home, breaking for the plate after a 1-2 pitch to Nolan Jones when catcher Yasmani Grandal lobbed the ball back to Jones after glancing at McMahon. It was McMahon’s first stolen base of the year, the 25th of his eight-year career, and the Rockies’ first steal of home since Dexter Fowler on July 21, 2011.

McMahon said he “stepped back” after Grandal looked over, “because I knew that would get him off me. As soon as he wasn’t looking any more, I took off.”

“He just timed up the throw and made a good baseball play,” Shelton said.

Ty Blach (3-4) gave up two runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.

“Hunter worked really hard to be on the game plan and know what he was trying to do,” said Blach, who threw only 29 pitches in the first three innings. “Obviously what he did with the bat tonight was really incredible.”

Jones (4-6) allowed six runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Pirates: C Henry Davis (concussion protocol) was placed on the 7-day injured list. He left Friday’s game in the seventh inning after taking a foul ball off his mask in the sixth. … C Jason Delay was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis. … SS Oneil Cruz (sore ankle) participated in pregame activities, but was held out of the lineup for a second straight game. … LHP Ryan Borucki (triceps) threw 28 pitches in a bullpen session. … LHP Marco Gonzalez (forearm strain) threw a bullpen session Saturday.

Rockies: 1B/OF Kris Bryant (rib, oblique strain) was diagnosed with a strained oblique after an MRI. “We all thought it was just a bruised rib,” Bryant said. “It all makes sense now, what I’m feeling. It’s frustrating.” Bryant was injured when he ran into the fence while catching a foul fly ball against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 5. “I probably stretched it pretty good just getting caught in the fence,” Bryant said. He has been given no timetable to return. “They told me obliques are a little different,” he said. “They told me you have to see how it goes as you go.” … CF Brenton Doyle (left patellar tendinitis) was a late scratch. … OF Jake Cave had three hits in his return to the lineup after being scratched Friday when he was struck by a line drive in batting practice.

RHP Dakota Hudson (2-8, 4.87 ERA) is to start for the Rockies in Sunday’s finale of the three-game series. The Pirates hadn’t yet announced a starter.

Wisconsin warden and 8 staff members charged following probes into inmate deaths

The warden of a maximum-security Wisconsin prison and eight members of his staff have been charged following investigations into the deaths of four inmates at the troubled facility over the past year.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Guards at Wisconsin’s oldest maximum-security prison failed to provide basic care for inmates who died on their watch, including one who died of dehydration and another who wasn’t found for at least 12 hours after he died of a stroke, authorities said Wednesday in announcing charges against the warden and eight members of his staff.

Waupun Correctional Institution’s warden, Randall Hepp, is charged with misconduct in public office. The other eight face charges of felony inmate abuse. Three of them are also charged with misconduct.

“We are operating the oldest prison in the state of Wisconsin in a dangerous and reckless manner,” Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt, who led the investigation, said at a news conference announcing the charges.

Hepp faces up to 3 1/2 years in prison if he’s convicted. He announced last week that he planned to retire at the end of June. He said in an email to Waupun staff that he had helped improve “safety and order” at the prison.

Hepp’s attorney, Robert Webb, declined to comment.

Three of the four deaths are subject to federal lawsuits. The state Department of Corrections is investigating the prison’s operations, and the governor last year asked the U.S. Department of Justice to look into contraband smuggling at the facility.

Department of Corrections Secretary Jared Hoy said in a statement that more than 20 people remain under internal investigation, at least eight are on leave and nine others were fired or have retired since the probe began a year ago. Hoy asked the sheriff to keep his probe open and share all of his findings. Schmidt said he could reopen the investigation if the internal probe reveals additional evidence.

The first of the four inmates who died, Dean Hoffman, killed himself in solitary confinement last June. Hoffman’s daughter filed a federal lawsuit in February alleging that prison officials failed to provide her father with adequate mental health care and medications.

Tyshun Lemons and Cameron Williams were both found dead at the facility in October. Dodge County Medical Examiner PJ Schoebel said Lemons overdosed on acetyl fentanyl, a potent opioid painkiller, and Williams died of a stroke.

Donald Maier was found dead at the prison in February. Schmidt said his death was ruled a homicide due to malnutrition and dehydration.

All of the charges are related to the deaths of Williams and Maier.

Williams told an inmate advocate three days before he died that he needed to go to the hospital but no action was taken, according to a criminal complaint. He had fallen in the shower and had to crawl into his cell two days earlier, and a day before that he collapsed on the way back to his cell, but neither fall was documented, the complaint said.

He died of a stroke sometime on Oct. 29, but his body wasn’t discovered until late the next morning, at least 12 hours after he died, according to the complaint. The nurse, sergeant and lieutenant charged in his death never checked on him that night, the complaint said.

Maier had severe mental health problems but he either refused or wasn’t given his medication in the eight days leading up to his death, according to a separate complaint.

An inmate told investigators that Maier flooded his cell, resulting in guards turning off his water. Six days before he died, he told a staff member that he “wants water, water, water, all the water in the world” and acted like he was swimming around his cell. Guards also saw him drinking from his toilet, the complaint said.

Guards said they turned the water off and on for Maier, but investigators said no one ever told him when it was on, according to the complaint. Guards also didn’t bring him any food in the four days leading up to his death, the complaint said.

Asked if his employees understand the prison’s water shut-off policy, Hepp told them that policies go out via email but he doesn’t think anybody at any institution really reads them and that no jail in the United States documents inmates’ every meal.

Attorney Mark Hazelbaker is representing Gwendolyn Vick, a nurse charged with abuse in connection with Williams’ death. According to the complaint, a nurse from an earlier shift told her that Williams was laying on the floor of his cell but she never checked on him. She told investigators that she told the guards that she wasn’t sure it was necessary to enter his cell because Williams was always trying to get a hospital trip, the complaint said.

Hazelbaker said Vick is “very sad” that four people died at the prison but she wasn’t responsible for anybody’s death. She’s entitled to be heard on the issues involved in providing prison health care, he said, adding that the real incompetence lies with the Department of Corrections in failing to properly staff and replace the aging prison.

Waupun had a 43% staff vacancy rate at the end of May, according to agency data.

“I can’t stress enough that this is a system failure of massive proportions,” Hazelbaker said. “It is dangerous. People don’t want to work there.”

Waupun’s problems extend beyond the inmate deaths. Gov. Tony Evers’ office said in March that federal investigators were looking into a suspected smuggling ring involving prison employees.

Evers said Wednesday in reaction to the charges being filed that everyone who failed to do their job will be held accountable.

Republican legislators renewed their calls Wednesday for Evers to close the prison in Waupun as well as another maximum-security prison in Green Bay. Both prisons were built in the 1800s.

“Tony Evers can’t keep his head in the sand anymore,” said state Sen. Van Wanggaard, chairperson of the Senate committee that oversees state prisons.

Rochester Hills splash pad shooter found dead; wounded victims include two boys

Rochester Hills — Nine people were shot at a splash pad in Rochester Hills around 5:11 p.m. Saturday after a "random" gunman got out of a vehicle and unloaded 28 gunshots from a handgun at the streetside park, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.

Sheriff's deputies later found the 42-year-old White male suspect dead at a home in Shelby Township after police breached the home with a drone, Bouchard said.

The alleged shooter may have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as police were surrounding the home, the sheriff said. Officers on site did not hear the gunshot.

The shooter acknowledged police attempts to contact him, but officials did not establish full communication with the man, Bouchard said.

multiples homework year 5

The gunman drove up to the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad along Auburn Road in Rochester Hills, got out of a vehicle, opened fire with a 9mm Glock semi-automatic handgun, reloaded, fired and then reloaded a second time, leaving three bullet magazines at the scene, the sheriff said.

Police later recovered the magazine and handgun, which was registered to the shooter, helping lead investigators to the suspect's home, Bouchard said. At the splash pad park, shell casings were scattered across the sidewalk and marked with yellow evidence markers for each bullet fired.

Police also found at least two weapons inside the home where the suspected shooter died, including a handgun and what appears to be an "AR platform" assault rifle that was on the kitchen table, Bouchard said.

"If he had planned to do anything else that wouldn't surprise me, because having that on the kitchen table is not an everyday activity," the sheriff said. "There was probably something else — a second chapter, potentially."

The suspect had no prior contact with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, had no criminal history and is believed to have lived with his mother, who was not home at the incident, Bouchard said.

Investigators are still processing the scene at the home of the suspected shooter, he said.

Bouchard initially said there were up to 10 shooting victims with "varying kinds of injuries." His office later revised the victim count to nine because one of the hospitals double-counted one of the victims, the sheriff said.

One of the shooting victims is an eight-year-old boy who was shot in the head and is in critical condition. A relative of that boy, a 4-year-old boy, was shot in the thigh, but is considered stable, Bouchard said.

And a 39-year-old woman sustained gunshot wounds to her abdomen and legs and also is in critical condition, the sheriff said.

"That's all from one family," Bouchard said of the two boys and woman.

The oldest victim was a 78-year-old man, he said, and another pair of victims are a husband and a wife.

Shooting a 'gut punch'

Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett said it was a "horrible" scene with children among the victims. One of the adult female shooting victims is a city employee, Barnett said.

"When I got on scene, I started to cry because I know what a splash pad is supposed to be. It's supposed to be a place where people gather and families make memories, where people have fun and enjoy a Saturday afternoon," Barnett said. "... What normally happens in our city, didn't happen today."

Earlier, when addressing reporters at 7:30 p.m. near the Rochester Hills park, Bouchard said the shooting appeared "very random" and there was no known connection to any of the victims, who were transported to at four area hospitals.

A spokeswoman for Corewell Health confirmed late Saturday night that some of the victims were transported to one of its hospitals. Corewell's Beaumont Troy Hospital is two miles south of the shooting scene.

"Our hearts are with those who were impacted by the shooting that occurred in Rochester Hills," Corewell Health Chantele Telegadas said in an email. "We can confirm our team is caring for some of the victims, but we are not releasing any additional information."

Bouchard said the gunman was contained in a home in Shelby Township less than two miles from the splash pad park. There was an effort to make contact with the man, Bouchard said.

At the splash pad, Oakland County sheriff's deputies were on scene within two minutes of a 911 call with the help of new technology that speeds up emergency response times, the sheriff said.

Bouchard called the shooting a "gut punch" for Oakland County and sheriff's deputies after they responded to the November 2021 mass shooting at Oxford High School and assisted other police agencies during the February 2023 shooting on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing. Four students died and seven individuals were wounded in the Oxford mass shooting, while three students died and five others were injured in the MSU mass shooting.

"In my worst nightmare, I couldn't imagine standing up here talking about another active shooter," Bouchard said at a late night press conference.

Jarrett Schmidt, 43, was visiting his mother's home on nearby Culbertson Avenue when he noticed multiple cars racing past him on the residential street. Schmidt of Rochester Hills drove up the road to find several people wounded at the scene as emergency medical responders poured in, he said.

Schmidt said he dove into action, applying a tourniquet to some of the injured people before first responders fully stepped in. As a gun owner with a concealed carry license, Schmidt said he makes a habit of keeping a first aid kit with him.

One victim, the grandfather of a close family friend, had been shot several times in his stomach, Schmidt said.

"He was seated with his back to that alleyway," Schmidt said. "The gentleman came up behind him and started shooting and kind of shot through him to get to everybody else."

Community alerted

In neighboring Shelby Township, multiple police vehicles were assembled along Hamlin and Dequindre roads around 8 p.m. at the entrance of the Dequindre Estates mobile home park, less than two miles from the splash pad park in Rochester Hills.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office issued an emergency alert Saturday evening warning residents in Rochester Hills of an "active shooter located near Spencer Park" and urging them to "AVOID area and SEEK shelter."

At 9:30 p.m., another emergency alert went out to cell phones users in Rochester Hills telling people they no longer needed to shelter in place, but urging them to stay away from the splash pad park.

The city-run splash pad faces Auburn Road and located between a T-Mobile cell phone store and Mozzarella's, a pizzeria, west of the plaza. Streets in the vicinity of the splash pad park were closed by police and emergency personnel Saturday evening.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office led the investigation since it provides police coverage to the city of Rochester Hills.

'An American epidemic'

Several political leaders reacted Saturday evening to the shooting.

"I am heartbroken to learn about the shooting in Rochester Hills," Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said on X , formerly Twitter.

U.S. Rep. John James, a Republican who lives in Shelby Township and represents Rochester Hills in Congress, joined Bouchard at his press briefing and was seen on the scene earlier in the evening, along with Barnett.

"Under no circumstances in this country, particularly in Rochester Hills, should fathers be spending Father's Day in a hospital," James said. "I'm looking forward to continuing to work — without politics. This is an American epidemic that we need to fix, gun violence needs to stop, and we are now most recently hit hardest by it."

Barnett said he remembered texting condolences to mayors in Orlando, Las Vegas and Dayton, Ohio, among others, after mass shootings in those cities, but never expected he would have a mass shooting in the suburban Detroit community of about 76,000 residents.

“It is a mental reset. It is a reminder that we live in a fragile place with fragile people," Barnett said. "And it is also a reminder to be grateful for professionals. There were a hundred firefighters and sheriff’s deputies out there today.”

The Oakland Community Health is providing mental health services from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Rochester Hills Department of Public Services building, 511 E. Auburn Road, for victims, their families and individuals who were at Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills at the time of the shooting, the county said in a new release. No appointment is needed.

The shooting came amid a simmering election year debate over guns and followed action Whitmer and a Democratic-controlled Legislature took last year after the February 2023 deadly shooting at Michigan State University to close loopholes in criminal background checks for long gun sales and require firearms to be safely secured in homes with children.

Michigan lawmakers also put a “red flag” law on the books that allows a judge to temporarily take away people's weapons if they’re deemed a threat to themselves or others.

"Kids deserve to be safe from gun violence — whether at school, at home, or at a splash pad,” Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, wrote on X. “Whatever we are doing, it’s not enough.”

Republican State Sen. Michael Webber, who represents and lives in Rochester Hills, said he was heartbroken by the "horrific shooting."

"I am praying for the victims and their families," Webber said in a late Saturday statement. "I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our first responders, including the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the Rochester Police Department and nearby paramedics who responded quickly. The Greater Rochester Area will remain a strong community, and we will support each other during this tragic time.”
