UP PCS Mains Previous Year Papers

Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be eligible to take the main exam. The UP PCS Main exam includes eight descriptive papers. Candidates should download and practice the Uttar Pradesh PCS Mains previous year question papers.

UP PCS Previous Year Questions

Candidates must practise with UP PCS PYQs (previous year's questions) to get a sense of the level of questions asked in a particular subject paper, which will help them perform better on the test. Experts consistently regard previous year papers as an essential tool for candidates, as they provide critical insights into the examination's structure and complexity. Comparing Prelims and Mains questions from any year can provide information on important topics.

Working through UPPSC's previous year papers along with answers allows students to identify key areas for study, formulate a comprehensive syllabus strategy, and minimize unnecessary errors in the context of the UPPSC PCS Exam.

Benefits of Practising with UPPSC PCS Previous Year Paper

The significance of solving previous year's papers when preparing for State civil services examinations, such as Uttar Pradesh's PCS (one of the most competitive in the state), cannot be overstated. This practice is essential for successful preparation because it provides insight into exam patterns. Consider some of the key benefits of practicing with the Uttar Pradesh Civil Services Previous Year Papers provided below.

  • Familiar with the exam pattern and question format: By solving UPPSC PCS previous year papers you will learn about the types of questions that are frequently asked, marking schemes, and the topics that are given more weightage in the exam, this will help you in preparing your study plans more effectively.
  • Understanding the level of difficulty: Previous year's papers and mock tests can also help you assess the exam's difficulty level. You can compare questions from various years to see how they differ in terms of complexity, depth, and scope.
  • Improves time management, speed, and accuracy: One of the most important skills for any competitive exam is time management. PYP allows candidates to determine the average time required to complete each section or question. Candidates can use this information as a reference point to better manage their time during the exam..
  • Identifies weak areas for focused preparation: Another advantage of solving previous year papers and mock tests is that it allows you to identify your weak points and gaps in your preparation. You can analyze your performance to determine which topics or concepts you need to revise more and which you are comfortable with.
  • Boosts confidence and reduces exam-related stress:   Getting familiar with the exam environment through UPPSC PCS previous year question papers and mock tests helps you to boost your confidence and reduce your exam-related stress.
  • Pair it with Mock Tests: Candidates can assess their preparation and identify areas for improvement by taking mock tests and attempting previous years' exams. Mock tests enable candidates to simulate actual exam conditions. Candidates can track their progress by comparing their marks and rankings to previous year's results and estimated cut-off marks, which can help them identify and improve their weaknesses and performance.

An effective way to Solve UPPSC PCS PYP

Solve the UP PCS Previous Year Papers in the following ways to improve your performance and raise your chances of passing the exam:

  • Candidates must finish the paper in the allotted time to simulate an exam setting. Sit in a place free from distractions and set a stopwatch or countdown timer.
  • Carefully review the exam questions from the previous year's UP PCS paper. Always keep in mind that wrong answers will result in a negative marking, so avoid speculating or just marking the answer without carefully reading the question.
  • Start with the questions you know the answers to, then move on to the ones you don't.
  • Once the timers go off, don't try any more questions. Instead, compare your answers to the answer key to evaluate your overall performance and pinpoint any errors that need to be corrected.

NeurIPS Creative AI Track: Ambiguity

Fencing Hallucination (2023), by Weihao Qiu

Following last year’s incredible success, we are thrilled to announce the NeurIPS 2024 Creative AI track. We invite research papers and artworks that showcase innovative approaches of artificial intelligence and machine learning in art, design, and creativity.

Focused on the theme of Ambiguity, this year’s track seeks to highlight the multifaceted and complex challenges brought forth by application of AI to both promote and challenge human creativity. We welcome submissions that: question the use of private and public data; consider new forms of authorship and ownership; challenge notions of ‘real’ and ‘non-real’, as well as human and machine agency; and provide a path forward for redefining and nurturing human creativity in this new age of generative computing.

We particularly encourage works that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries to propose new forms of creativity and human experience. Submissions must present original work that has not been published or is not currently being reviewed elsewhere.

Important Dates:

  • August 2: Submission Deadline
  • September 26: Decision
  • October 30: Final Camera-Ready Submission

Call for Papers and Artworks

Papers (posters).

We invite submissions for research papers that propose original ideas or novel uses of AI and ML for creativity. The topics of research papers are not restricted to the theme of ambiguity. Please note that this track will not be part of the NeurIPS conference proceedings. If you wish to publish in the NeurIPS proceedings please submit your paper directly to the main track.

Core Tenets of Islam: an Overview of Main Beliefs

This essay is about the core beliefs of Islam focusing on its foundational tenets and practices. It explains the concept of monotheism in Islam emphasizing the oneness of Allah. The essay outlines the Five Pillars of Islam: Shahada (declaration of faith) Salah (prayer) Zakat (charity) Sawm (fasting during Ramadan) and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). It also touches on other essential beliefs including faith in angels divine scriptures prophets the Day of Judgment and divine predestination. These elements collectively guide the spiritual ethical and communal aspects of a Muslim’s life aiming to create a balanced and just society.

How it works

Islam one of the world’s major religions is all about beliefs that shape the lives of over a billion folks worldwide. It’s centered on monotheism meaning there’s just one God called Allah. This idea of Tawhid is super important—it means Allah’s the only one no sharing with others. Muslims think Allah created everything knows everything and should be obeyed in every part of life.

The Quran Islam’s holy book and the Hadith which has what Muhammad said and did are the main guides for Muslims.

They believe the Quran’s literally Allah’s words to Muhammad who’s the last of a long line of messengers like Abraham Moses and Jesus. The Hadith explains more about what’s in the Quran helping Muslims live by its teachings.

The Five Pillars are key to practicing Islam. First up is Shahada where folks declare their faith that Allah’s the only God and Muhammad’s His messenger. It’s a simple but big deal—it’s how someone joins Islam.

Next is Salah praying five times a day facing Mecca’s Kaaba. These prayers show devotion and discipline keeping Muslims connected to Allah throughout the day.

Zakat’s the third Pillar. It’s about giving part of your money to help folks who need it. This isn’t just charity; it’s about purifying your soul and being responsible in your community.

Sawm the fourth Pillar means fasting during Ramadan—from sunrise to sunset no eating or drinking. It’s a time to think grow closer to Allah and feel for those who don’t have enough. At the end Eid al-Fitr’s a big celebration.

Last is Hajj where every Muslim who can should make a pilgrimage to Mecca once in their life. It’s a chance to worship with folks from all over dressed alike in simple white clothes.

Besides the Pillars Islam’s about believing in angels holy books prophets like Muhammad and a final judgment day where everyone’s judged for what they did. Muslims also believe Allah knows everything that happens and gives people the freedom to choose within His plan.

These beliefs and practices make up Islam’s foundation guiding how Muslims live and treat others. They aim for a balanced fair world staying close to Allah doing good and making their community better.
