Priyadarshika

Key Points to Remember When Writing an Essay on ‘My Bicycle’

10 lines on ‘my bicycle’, short essay on ‘my bicycle’, long essay on ‘my bicycle’, what will your child learn from this essay.

Children love their bicycles. As they grow old enough to ride, they enjoy their first cycle, and it is a memory that stays with them for a long time. Children enjoy little moments associated with their bikes. Whether it is cycling around the compound with friends or feeling like the responsible little helper by riding to nearby stores to bring small household requirements, children and their bicycles are inseparable. When asked to write an essay on the topic, they can write small paragraphs discussing their experiences or elaborate compositions bringing in some facts and general knowledge with detailed descriptions. This exercise will lay the foundation of their English grammar and improve their writing skills. It also improves their vocabulary. Let us guide your children of classes 1, 2 and 3 to write a beautiful composition on this topic.

Your child needs to remember a few points while writing an essay about their bicycle. Let us guide your child stepwise on an essay adventure about their bicycle:

  • Let your child think about the ideas they want to include in their mind.
  • Ask them to pen down their thoughts on paper and form an outline of the composition, ensuring they have covered all the points.
  • Let your child write easy-to-read short and simple sentences from the outline.
  • Guide your child not to get too descriptive about any single idea and stick to the word count.
  • Direct your child to write with the flow. This will make them enjoy writing the essay.
  • Your child can write about the description of their bike, when they got it, where they ride it, the best features of the bike and how they feel about it.

Here is a sample essay to guide your child to write about their bicycle in simple lines:

  • I have a glossy pink bicycle.
  • My parents gifted it to me on my birthday last year.
  • It has two small wheels on both sides to help me to balance.
  • My cycle has a basket in the front.
  • Our tiniest furry family member named Lucky enjoys a ride sitting in the basket.
  • I ride my cycle with my friends in the neighbourhood.
  • At first, I didn’t know how to ride the bicycle, but my father taught me how to ride smoothly.
  • I wear a helmet when I ride my bicycle for safety.
  • I take a lot of care of my cycle. I wipe it clean whenever it gets dusty.
  • My bicycle is the best gift I have ever received.

Your child’s bicycle makes them feel like they are flying without wings. They get a sense of independence while venturing out in the world around them, albeit safely under the guidance of their parents. Let us guide your little one to write an enjoyable essay on their bicycle, suitable for lower primary classes:

I have a shiny pink bicycle. My parents gifted it to me on my birthday last year. I love riding my cycle with my friends in the neighbourhood. I go out to cycle every afternoon, along with my friends. Sometimes I take my cute little puppy, Lucky, with me too. She sits in the basket in front of the bicycle and enjoys the ride with me. Sometimes I use the basket to collect flowers that have fallen from plants and trees. I look forward to going out on cycle rides every day. It is refreshing when the pleasant winds blow on my face while cycling. I take care of my cycle and wipe off the dust settled on it every weekend. I like it when it shines.

Your child’s first bicycle is very special to them. Let us help your little one compose an amazing essay, suitable for class 3:

I got my first bicycle on my birthday last year. It was the cycle of my dreams, and my parents got it for me as a surprise gift.

Bicycles were first invented by a German. The first-ever cycle didn’t have brakes or chains or pedals. Today bicycles have many advanced features for people of all ages.

My cycle is glossy pink in colour. Its body is made of sturdy metal, and the tyres are made of rubber. It has two brakes on the handle to control the speed. The seat is purple coloured made of strong silicone material. I can adjust its height as per my comfort.

I have decorated my cycle with cute stickers and have tied short bunches of glittering ribbons to both handles. My cycle has a bottle holder where I carry my water bottle that matches the colour of my cycle. My bicycle also has a basket in the front. I carry my tiny furry friend, Lucky, in the basket, and we go around the neighbourhood along with my other friends and my brother. I also fill the basket with beautiful fragrant flowers for my mother. I enjoy riding my bike every day. It feels amazing when the cool wind blows against my face while cycling.

Initially, my father used to hold the cycle from behind to teach me how to balance. Soon, I started riding on my own. I lost balance and fell a few times, but now I can ride smoothly for a long stretch.

Cycles are the best mode of transport. They are good for our environment because they do not cause air pollution. We also don’t need fuel for riding cycles, so we save a lot of money and conserve our resources. Cycling is an excellent form of exercise and makes our muscles strong. So by playing on my bike, I am becoming stronger every day. My parents say that cycling is also good for our hearts. Cycles are very safe to ride, especially when I wear a helmet. I get only a few small bruises if I fall, which can heal soon. My cycle won’t hurt anyone on the streets, so every person and animal is safe from a bicycle.

Many older students use cycles to go to school or tuition classes. Some adults use cycles to go to the office because of the benefits of riding a bike.

Everyone in my family loves riding bikes. My parents, brother, and I visit scenic locations for cycle rides on holidays.

I love cycling and will continue to ride bicycles even after becoming big.

Writing about their bicycle will be a fun experience for children. While thinking of all the activities they enjoy associated with their bikes, they will learn to express their feelings in words. Thinking about the benefits of cycling will also make your child contemplate matters like health, fitness, nature and conservation.

These sample essays will help your little one write a beautiful composition on their first bicycle. It will also improve your child’s linguistic skills and enhance their vocabulary. Developing their writing skills will benefit your child and lay the foundation of good communication skills. Your child will remember their first cycle all their life and perhaps find this essay years later among their old possessions, making them reminisce all the fun moments of childhood.

My mother always warns me to ride safely as she is worried about me. For me, cycling is not just a hobby. It is my stress reliever. It allows me to explore the world and be physically active. I bring all my grocery items by bicycle, visit the nearby temple on it, and go on little trips with my friends.

Cycling is one of the most preferred choices for people who want to lose weight and those who have knee problems. Some people are not able to jog or run. Paragraph on Cycling

Cycling is a simple physical exercise, which requires us to use our legs for peddling. The parts of a bicycle include 2 wheels, a strong metal body, two pedals, one handle, and one seat. As kids, we all have ridden bicycles and some might even have gotten injured while learning. I guess that’s how we grow, we fall so that we can pick ourselves and learn how to grow. Young children, aged 10 to 16 years have the highest craze of cycling. They want to feel the chilled wind on their face and grind pedals using their legs. That humming sound of tires and the communion with nature create a meditative experience that relieves all our mental stress and vitalizes the spirit. On top of that, cycling offers several physical and mental benefits to us and is also environmentally friendly due to zero carbon emissions. Everyone must ride a bicycle for an hour or 2, not just for physical benefits, but for the environment also.

My First Experience in Riding a Bicycle

Being a child involves dealing with new issues almost every day and learning how to overcome your fears. My first experience of riding a bicycle at the age of five is among my most vivid memories when it comes to the joys of childhood and conquering fears. On that day in summer, I acquired new skills and became more confident in my physical abilities, and these memories still help me today.

As a five-year-old child, I regarded riding bikes as something exciting but scary. At that age, I was still riding my bike with one training wheel to develop a sense of balance and become confident enough. I still remember my bike with white, pink, and purple elements, a small bicycle bell, and two colorful handlebar pompoms. On one bright and sunny day during summer break, my uncle finally told me that training wheels were only for babies and that it was high time for me to start riding my bike without assistance.

My uncle’s determination to take the training wheel off deeply affected me and, to some degree, instilled mixed feelings in my heart. I actually wanted to prove that I was old enough to master the skill of riding a bike and said with confidence that I was not a baby. However, from the perspective of a young child, taking the training wheel off was similar to a drastic change in life.

To my surprise, my fear of falling gave way to excitement and enthusiasm a few minutes after we started practicing. My uncle devoted enough time to teach me how to turn, and we practiced near my grandfather’s house until I was able to ride to the corner without falling. Of course, that experience was not without unpleasant moments because I fell a few times and scraped my knee due to having no protective equipment.

In conclusion, I often remember that day with happiness and sweet sadness. Most importantly, the day when I learned to ride a bike bubbles to the surface of my memory when I hesitate to try something new. This experience has helped me to realize that what seems scary often turns out to be fascinating and refreshing.

Essay on My Favourite Hobby is Cycling for Kids and Students

Rupam Sharma

Rupam Sharma

Essay on my favourite Hobby is cycling: Cycling is among the most loved activities I participate in during my free time. Cycling is a beautiful pastime because it keeps your body fit and healthy. It’s also a method of exercise. You can take up this activity because it doesn’t waste away our time and can be performed at any time, anywhere.

German Baron von Drais invented bicycles, and the Parisienne was introduced to the Paris cycling scene two decades following the introduction in the celeries.

A bicycle is a practical vehicle that allows us to reach an objective without polluting our surroundings. It is constructed of steel and comes with two wheels. Additionally, it’s been fitted with a handle and seat with two pedals and an alarm. Some bikes have a carrying capacity, but others don’t.

Cycling, also known as biking, is a well-known leisure activity and often an option for transport. In 2016, approximately 12.4 percent of Americans regularly cycled daily. The number of cyclists/bikers within the U.S. has increased over the last three years, from around 43 to 47.5 million in 2017.

There are many categories of cycling racing, including road bicycle racing, cyclocross mountain bike racing, the track cycle, BMX, and cycle speedway. Other cycling sports that are not running include creative bicycles, cycling freestyle BMX, and mountain bicycle trials.

Many people use bicycles to get to the correct work or leisure spot quickly. My favorite activity is cycling because I can bike with my buddies, be positive, and yet take proper care of my fitness. It’s a top exercise. It burns about 400 calories per hour. It also strengthens the lower part of your body, such as your hips, legs, and glutes. It is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a workout that is easy on your hips, back, ankles, and knees.

Regular cycling boosts your lungs, heart, and circulation, decreasing your risk of suffering from cardiovascular diseases. Cycling improves the heart muscle, reduces your resting pulse, and lowers fat blood levels.

In the end, bikes are excellent in all aspects of your health, or even the overall health of nature. Additionally, it’s easy on the pockets. Since the planet is getting polluted faster daily, we must shift to bikes for a cleaner lifestyle and a greener future.

Essay on My Favorite Childhood Memory

Students are often asked to write an essay on My Favorite Childhood Memory in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look

100 Words Essay on My Favorite Childhood Memory

The joy of my first bicycle.

As a child, my most cherished memory is the day I got my first bicycle. It was bright red, with shiny handlebars and a loud horn. I felt a rush of excitement the moment I saw it. My dad held the seat steady as I climbed on. The first few tries were shaky, and I stumbled a lot. But with each fall, I got back up, determined to ride smoothly.

Learning to Ride

After many tries, I finally pedaled without falling. The wind in my hair, I felt unstoppable. My parents clapped and cheered from the sidewalk. That day, I learned more than just riding a bike. I learned that with patience and practice, I could do anything. This memory of joy and accomplishment is one I’ll always treasure.

250 Words Essay on My Favorite Childhood Memory

My best childhood memory.

When I think of my childhood, many fun times come to mind. But the one I cherish the most is the day I learned to ride a bike. It was a bright summer day, and my older brother decided it was time for me to ride without training wheels.

My brother took me to the park with my shiny red bike. At first, I was scared. I thought I would fall without the small extra wheels on the sides. But my brother held the back of the seat and ran beside me. He kept telling me to keep pedaling and to look straight ahead. His words were like magic, and slowly, I felt less scared.

Success at Last

Why it’s special.

This memory is special because it was the first time I felt truly proud of myself. My brother’s help and the joy of learning something new made that day unforgettable. It taught me that even when things seem hard, with a bit of help and courage, I can do anything. Every time I see a bike, I remember that summer day and smile. It was a simple day, but it is my favorite childhood memory.

500 Words Essay on My Favorite Childhood Memory

When I think back to my childhood, many memories come to mind, but one stands out the most. It was the day my family and I went to the beach during summer vacation. That day is my favorite childhood memory because it was filled with joy and laughter, and it brings a smile to my face every time I remember it.

The Trip to the Beach

It was a bright and sunny morning when we started our trip to the beach. My parents, my little sister, and I piled into the car, each of us excited for the day ahead. We sang songs and played games on the way there, making the car ride part of the fun. The drive felt short because we were having such a good time together.

As soon as we arrived, I could feel the warm sand under my feet and hear the waves crashing. The first thing I did was to build a sandcastle with my sister. We used buckets and shovels to shape the sand into towers and walls. My parents helped us decorate our castle with shells and seaweed. It wasn’t just a sandcastle; it was our little masterpiece, and we were proud of it.

Playing in the Water

After building the sandcastle, we ran towards the water. The sea was cool and refreshing. My sister and I jumped over waves and laughed every time one of us got splashed. My parents watched us from the shore, smiling and taking pictures to capture the moment. It felt like the water washed away all our worries, and all that mattered was the fun we were having.

Family Picnic

Watching the sunset.

As the day came to an end, we watched the sunset together. The sky turned into beautiful colors of orange and pink. It was like watching a painting come to life. We sat in silence, taking in the beauty of nature. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Why It’s My Favorite Memory

That day at the beach is my favorite childhood memory because it was a day spent with my family. We didn’t need fancy toys or gadgets to have fun; just being together was enough. It taught me the value of family and how simple moments can become the most precious memories.

The Benefits my Favourite Sport – Cycling

How it works

Safety and Security are paramount in any learning institution, the University of Miami is a large institution which accommodates a large number of students and staff in its premises. With large numbers come challenges in providing essential services like security and ensuring the safety of all individuals. Most of the students have been victims of bike riders who are not sensitive to the environment around them or just for lack of facilities to use their bikes safely on campus. The best solution for this kind of problem is isolation.

The provision of a dedicated bicycle lane for the cyclists is the most viable kind of solution for such a problem.

The fact that bikes are cheaper and more cost efficient than vehicles, more and more students are embracing the beauty of bicycles. This has led to an influx in the number of bicycles around campus. The campus has a large number of students coming in and going out of the campus at any given time. With the number of cyclists growing by the day, there have been more frequent bicycle accidents within the campus confinements. Since there are no designated areas where bicycles can be ridden, any place goes. Cyclists ride their bikes in between large numbers of students each going about their business, sooner or later a disaster is bound to happen when people lie directly on the path of the cyclist. Injuries that have been sustained have been treated by the school since accidents occurred within school premises.

A problem remains a problem if action is not taken to solve it. a problem can be solved in various ways, however, there is one most viable solution, the solution that provides the most benefits in the long run. The suggestion is to have dedicated lanes for cyclists to use within the campus area. The setting aside of such areas will notify the students not to access the areas blocking cyclists paths to avoid accidents. With a reduced number of bicycle accidents comes a reduced amount of money spent on medical bills. In the long run, the institution will save money that would have been used in treating bicycle accident victims and divert the same to more pressing issues in the campus. Though the initial cost of implementation might be high, the benefits that it will bring will be worth all the investment.

As stated above, there are various kinds of solutions, however, not all solutions are real solutions to the problem at hand. In this kind of scenario, I would also acknowledge that the university in taking steps to curb bicycle accident can ban the use of bicycles within the campus area altogether. This seems to be the best solution since it does not involve any costs, however, it can turn out to be the worst. Banning the use of bicycles within the campus area will make the students feel like the university is infringing on their rights on using any means to school. This can make the students riot and in the process cause damage to university property. The education of the students who come to school on bikes might be hindered since they would have to incur more costs in taking bus rides to school and also will also encourage lateness to class.

The initial cost of installation will be high, according to calculation, the project will cost at least $7,000. However, the benefits that it will bring outweigh the cost. Treatment of a student who has had a bicycle accident is about $250, on average in a month, bicycle accidents are responsible for 20 treatment cases. In total, the amount spent by the university in providing medical services to the victims is about $5,000 in a month. When the lane is in place, the cases of bicycle accidents will be reduced to about 5 cases in a month. This will go a long way in enabling the institution to save monies it would have otherwise used on injured students. A saving of $3,750 each month can pay up the cost of the project in two months and afterwards the benefits can be enjoyed to the maximum.

The cost of providing the lane initially is given by, the suggestion is digging and providing an area where concrete slabs can be laid. This concrete slabs on average cost $2 per square foot. There will be needed around two thousand slabs to cover the whole area needed for the lane. In total the slabs will cost $4,000, the labour needed for the laying of the slab will be around $1,000. Other uses will use an additional $2000. In total the whole project will cost around $7,000. This is no cheap project, however, it stands to be seen that it is the best there can be in terms of solving the current problem. The amount of money being used will be a one-time kind of fee which will enable the solving of the problem without incurring additional costs. The maintenance of the lane will be done after every six months to ensure that the lane is in good condition always.

In conclusion, the safety of the students in the institution should be of priority to the administration. They should be able to put in place mechanisms needed to ensure that students are safe when within school premises. The proposed project will go a long way in ensuring that the students in the University have a safe environment and a conducive environment to conduct their own studies. The institution in creating a safe environment for its students will also be able to save money it would have used on the treatment of students who got injured in school premises. The proposed project is a win-win situation both for the students and the administration.

My Favorite Hobby “Cycling”

My Favorite Hobby “Cycling”

A hobby is nothing but a gentle and pleasant occupation designed to take the tired brain off the burden of the main task. It is not one’s main business or occupation; it is an alternative mental occupation. I believe that every person should have a hobby because, without a favorite occupation, it’s just boring to live. Hobby helps to develop a person, because, while doing what he likes, a person always strives to learn something new about his favorite occupation, often communicates with other people who are addicted to the same thing. A person who has a hobby tries to read. Everyone has a favorite hobby. I have also a favorite hobby. My favorite hobby is cycling. It is my favorite sports to do whenever I have free time.  Not just because of it good for our health, if we also can enjoy the scenery and feel the natural winds. It is a good exercise to improve family relationships or a friend’s relationships. Most of the time I am cycling with my best friend, while we cycling we were chatting or even gossiping about anything. You have to find the perfect place to cycling harmoniously without any destruction such as a park, housing area or anyplace, as long as that place has a good road, so that you won’t fall because of the road. The benefits of cycling are numerous not just for the person peddling but for the environment, therefore, society as a whole too. It’s a heart health hobby that enhances brain activity and reduces carbon gas release. It’s also a fun outdoor activity that stimulates the senses which are dulled by staying indoors too close to the television and refrigerator. Unlike both swimming and running, cyclists can enjoy a conversation with a fellow rider. Cycling is easier on the joints than running and can be enjoyed all seasons, unlike swimming. All-in-all cycling is a beneficial physical activity and hobby.

  • Practice Regularly : Practice is key to improving mathematical skills. Set aside dedicated time each day to work on math problems, review class notes, and reinforce learning through repetition and practice exercises.
  • Break Down Problems : Divide complex problems into smaller, more manageable steps. Concentrate on comprehending each step independently before tackling the problem as a whole. This method can alleviate anxiety and render problem-solving more approachable.
  • Seek Help When Needed : Don’t hesitate to ask for help when you encounter difficulties. Reach out to teachers, tutors, classmates, or online resources for clarification and guidance. Remind yourself that experiencing difficulty with math is normal and seeking assistance demonstrates strength rather than weakness.
  • Use Visual Aids and Manipulatives : Visual aids, diagrams, and manipulatives offer tangible representations of abstract mathematical concepts, simplifying comprehension and visualization. Explore various tools and methods to discover what suits you best.
  • Connect Math to Real Life : Make connections between mathematical concepts and real-life situations to understand their practical relevance and applicability. Whether it’s calculating discounts while shopping, measuring ingredients for cooking, or budgeting finances, finding real-world contexts for math can make learning more engaging and meaningful.
  • Stay Organized and Manage Time : Stay organized by keeping track of assignments, deadlines, and study materials. Divide larger tasks into smaller, manageable objectives, and allocate time efficiently for studying, practicing, and reviewing material.
  • Review and Reflect : Regularly review past assignments, tests, and mistakes to identify areas for improvement and reinforce learning. Reflect on your progress, strengths, and weaknesses , and adjust your study strategies accordingly to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Celebrate Progress : Celebrate your progress and accomplishments, no matter how small. Recognize and reward your efforts to stay motivated and inspired on your mathematical journey.

Polling station rules - don't get caught out on election day

Wondering whether you can bring your own pen, your dog or your favourite political party sweatshirt to the polling station? Sky News has reviewed the rules around election day so you don't get caught out.

Voting is a simple process - but it's also a serious one, with strict rules in place to make sure the election is fair.

Wondering whether you can bring your own pen, your dog, or your favourite political party sweatshirt to the polling station?

Sky News has reviewed the rules around election day so you don't get caught out.

Do I need ID?

Yes. This one bears repeating because it is the first general election where you must bring photo ID to the polling station.

There are 22 different types of ID you can use - you can find a list in our full guide to the voter ID rules .

The ID can be out of date, as long as it still looks like you and the name is the same one used to register to vote.

Those who don't have any of the accepted forms of ID are able to register for a Voter Authority Certificate - though the deadline for this has passed.

Can I bring my dog (or cat)?

Given the popularity of dogs at polling stations , you'd be forgiven for thinking they were honoured guests on election day.

But actually, assistance dogs are the only pets that are guaranteed entry to polling stations.

The rest of the time, it's up to polling station staff whether they allow dogs (or cats) inside - and according to advice from the Electoral Commission they are not normally allowed in as they can disturb voters.

Pet charity the Blue Cross has published guidelines on taking your pup to vote, and says you should check with the venue in advance.

What about children?

Children are welcome at polling stations, and can go to the polling booth with their parents or carer.

However, they must not mark the polling card.

Can I take a selfie?

You should not take any photos - including selfies - inside the polling station.

That is because it is against the law to share how someone has voted, is about to vote, or the unique ID ballot paper number - all of which could end up in shot with photos taken inside the polling station.

Breaking that law could mean you're landed with a fine of up to £5,000, or six months in prison.

You and your dogs are welcome to take photos outside the polling station.

Does that mean I can't use my phone in the polling station?

You can use your phone inside the polling station - including in the voting booth, for example, if you need to use the torch or an app to help you read the ballot paper.

It's up to the returning officer - the person in charge of the polling station - to set that venue's rules around mobile phone use and train staff accordingly.

You will need to remove headphones when giving your name, address, and ID to staff, and if you're having a loud phone conversation you can expect to be told to be quiet.

Can I vote if I've been drinking?

Voting while drunk is not against the law.

However, if you're suspected of being incapacitated by alcohol or drugs, you may be asked questions by the staff in charge.

If they are unhappy with your answers, you could be turned away until you've sobered up.

Can I discuss who I am voting for?

Political discussion is not allowed inside and immediately around the polling station in case it influences other voters.

If you're heard talking about the candidates, parties or who you're voting for by polling station staff, you will be asked to stop.

Can I spoil my vote?

Yes - if you don't want it to be counted.

Spoilt ballot papers are a way for voters to express dissatisfaction with the choice of candidates or political parties.

Spoilt votes are declared invalid, and the number of blank and spoilt votes is announced along with other election results.

Spoiling your vote could mean voting for every candidate or none at all or writing or drawing on the ballot paper.

However, be careful about marking anything besides a cross on your ballot paper if you want your vote counted.

You should not sign your ballot paper. If your name is identifiable, your vote will not count as it needs to be anonymous.

Do I have to vote?

You do not have to vote by law - it is your choice to do so or not.

Can I wear political slogans while voting?

There is nothing to stop you from wearing clothing with a political slogan while voting, but campaigning is not allowed in polling stations, so you must leave immediately after voting.

Can I wear a face covering?

You can wear a face covering, including a veil for religious reasons or a face mask, but you may be asked to briefly remove it so staff can check the photo ID you're using is really you.

You can ask to have your ID checked in private or for it to be done by a female staff member.

Can I use my own pen?

Pencils will be provided for people to cast their vote - but if you've got a lucky pen, you're welcome to bring your own.

Pencils are used for practical reasons, according to the Electoral Commission - with ink pens, there's the risk they may run out or the ink smudges on the ballot paper, potentially leading to it being rejected if it appears spoilt.

Can I go to a polling station if I’ve not registered to vote?

You can only go inside a polling station if you are registered to vote at that station.

Staff at the door will ask for your name, address, and ID before you are given your ballot papers and proceed to a voting booth.

Can I have help if I am disabled?

You can take another adult into the polling booth if you are disabled and need help voting.

This is where there is an exception to the rule only allowing voters registered at that polling station to enter.

Anyone over the age of 18 can help you vote. You can also ask polling station staff for help.

Measures to make voting accessible should also be in place, including providing a tactile voting device for blind or partially sighted voters, having a low-level polling booth, and displaying a large-print version of the ballot paper.
