Veterans Day Essay Contest. The Virginia War Memorial's Veterans Day Essay Contest is held annually, and is open to all Virginia Middle and High School students. Each year, winners and their teachers are given a prize, and winning students are invited to read their submissions as part of the Commonwealth's Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11.

The contest is open to all Delaware County students in grades 6 through 8. Each of the 3 winners receives a cash prize and is asked to read from his/her essay during the Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony.
