Yes! It's absolutely 100% free. We made this tool as a way of giving back to the community in the 2022 recession and to help folks who had been laid off from their jobs. Our founders have been actively involved in helping folks optimize and improve their LinkedIn profiles for the last two years, and realized that they can build a tool which would cover a majority of the optimizations like a personalized sidekick! We do optionally offer personalized services through our partner FAANGPath, but that is by no means necessary or required to use our tool(s).

After I install it, how do I use the extension?

After installation, you should automatically be redirected to your personal LinkedIn Profile. In case you aren't, you can navigate to your profile by clicking this link: https://linkedin.com/in/ (Note that its the page which has your photo and details on it, not the home page). ‍ 1. Go to your personal LinkedIn Profile page. 2. Look for the floating Careerflow icon on the right side of your screen. 3. Click the floating icon to open the optimization panel. 4. Follow the login process and onboarding process. You should see a screen which gives you a score as well as a list of profile sections. From this point on you can choose to interactively optimize your profile in a step-by-step guided fashion by clicking "start optimization" OR you can simply click on a section and view your personalized checklist, best practices, and more!

What browsers and operating systems are supported?

We currently support Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, Opera and other Chromium based browsers on Mac OS, Windows, and Linux/Unix based operating systems. We currently do NOT support Safari and Firefox. Will this negatively affect my LinkedIn account in any way?

Not at all! We do not use any "shady" tactics to improve your profile. All our profile does is look at the client-side HTML of your profile page, and determine based on that, whether you've followed the best practices or not in order to be optimized. You can think of our tool as an experienced friend, who would've done the exact same thing when they would have seen your profile screen opened up. We also do not "automatically" update your profile for you - we simply let you know what the areas of improvement are, how to improve it, and provide you quick shortcuts and suggestions to make the said improvements.

Cover letter creator.

The Cover Letter Creator is a web application that leverages the power of the OpenAI Language Model (LLM) to generate personalized cover letters for LinkedIn job postings using Langchain. This project consists of a Flask-based backend and a user-friendly HTML/JavaScript front-end.

Job Details Retrieval : The application allows you to input a LinkedIn job posting URL. It fetches the job title, company name, and job description from the provided URL.

Cover Letter Generation : After retrieving job details, you can generate a customized cover letter by providing the role, company, job description, and uploading your resume in PDF format. The cover letter is created based on this information, making it easy to apply for job opportunities with a tailored cover letter.

  • Open the application using a web browser.
  • Enter the job role in the "Role" field.
  • Enter the company name in the "Company" field.
  • Provide the job description in the "Description" field.
  • Upload your resume in PDF format using the "Upload Resume" button.
  • Click "Fill Job Info" to automatically fill in job details by providing the LinkedIn job posting URL.
  • Click "Generate Letter" to generate a cover letter based on the provided information.
  • The generated cover letter will be displayed in the "Output" section.
  • You can go back to the input page using the "Back" button if needed.

Technologies Used

Flask : The backend of the application is built using the Flask web framework.

LangChain : NLP framework to analyze job details and resume to create cover letter content.

OpenAI GPT-3.5 : The OpenAI Language Model is used for generating the cover letter content.

HTML and JavaScript : The front-end user interface is developed using HTML and JavaScript for a user-friendly experience.

Setting up the Project

  • Clone the project from the GitHub repository or just download gen-cover-ui if you dont have open ai api key.
  • Install the required Python libraries using pip install -r requirements.txt .
  • Set up the OpenAI API key as an environment variable named OPENAI_API_KEY .
  • Run the Flask application using python your_app_name.py .

Perfect Your Marketing Documents

Spencer stresses it’s important to know that your résumé and cover letter are marketing documents. Also keep in mind that the average employer takes about seven seconds to review these documents. They’re not reading: they’re skimming. So you need to make it clear right off the bat how you can add value.

Strong résumés don’t have to be lengthy. One to two pages that feature your most top accomplishments works well.

Use Action Words and Customize Your Pitch

When highlighting your professional experience, use accomplishment statements rather than descriptions of your role. Start with an action verb. Then detail the impact that action had: Did you increase, decrease, modify, or change anything in your work? Finally, be sure to quantify the accomplishments. Data helps.

Your cover letter should be one page, highly customized to each position you’re applying for. It answers two questions: why are you the right fit for the position? And how will you add value to the organization?

While it’s important to have a strong résumé and cover letter, it’s also important to remember that the number one job search strategy is networking. You don’t want to simply be reactive, applying blindly to job postings. You want to conduct a series of informational meetings so that you build a network of people you can reach out to when it comes time to start your job search.

WRITE AN EFFECTIVE COVER LETTER

Your cover letter is a writing sample and a part of the screening process. By putting your best foot forward, you can increase your chances of being interviewed. A good way to create a response-producing cover letter is to highlight your skills or experiences that are most applicable to the job or industry and to tailor the letter to the specific organization to which you’re applying.

Some general rules about letters:

  • Address your letters to a specific person if you can.
  • Tailor your letters to specific situations or organizations by doing research before writing your letters.
  • Keep letters concise and factual, no more than a single page. Avoid flowery language.
  • Give examples that support your skills and qualifications.
  • Put yourself in the reader’s shoes. What can you write that will convince the reader that you are ready and able to do the job?
  • Don’t overuse the pronoun “I”.
  • Remember that this is a marketing tool. Use plenty of action words.
  • Have an MCS advisor provide feedback on your letter.
  • If converting to a .pdf, check that your formatting translates correctly.
  • Reference skills or experiences from the job description and draw connections to your credentials.
  • Make sure your resume and cover letter are prepared with the same font type and size.

Jumpstart’s commitment to early education for every child is of particular interest to me because of my passion for youth development. I designed and taught fun, interactive classes to a group of 10 fifth graders, and planned and led local field trips and workshops daily with a junior counselor. As a result of my efforts, our group experienced a 20% increase in our membership base and a 15% increase in our social media engagement. I’m excited at the prospect of bringing the skills I developed through this experience to the Marketing and Communications role at Jumpstart.

Jayson Tatum, A'ja Wilson on cover of NBA 2K25; first WNBA player on global edition

A pair of recent basketball champions will be on the cover of the next NBA 2K.

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson are the cover stars of NBA 2K25, it was announced Wednesday. The game will be released Sept. 6th.

Tatum is the cover star of the standard edition of the game, and the two champions are on the cover of the the All-Star edition. With Wilson on the deluxe edition, it marks the first time a WNBA player will be on a global edition of the video game franchise, just another notch in the growth of women's basketball.

"Being featured on the NBA 2K25 cover is a big moment for me and a testament to the ever-growing fandom of the WNBA," Wilson said in a statement. "Seeing more and more WNBA athletes scanned into NBA 2K25 to best capture the style and confidence of the league has been empowering, and I can't wait for fans to experience it in-game."

It's been a remarkable past year for both Tatum and Wilson. Tatum was a leader on the Celtics team that beat the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals to win the franchise's record 18th league championship . He also just signed an extension that is the  largest contract in NBA history . 

Wilson led the Las Vegas Aces to a remarkable 34-6 regular-season record in 2023 en route to back-to-back WNBA titles . She was also named the 2023 WNBA Finals Most Valuable Player. Wilson is also off to a great start to the 2024 WNBA season, leading the league in points (27.0) and blocks (2.7) per game, while her 10.9 rebounds per game are second in the league behind Angel Reese .

NBA 2K25 covers

In addition to the All-Star edition, Wilson will be the cover star on the WNBA edition, which is a GameStop exclusive physical edition only available in the U.S. and Canada.

There will also be a NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame edition that will feature 2024 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Vince Carter.

How much will NBA 2K25 cost?

The game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Here's how much each edition costs:
