If you are looking to be a Large Goods Vehicle Driver (LGV, also known as an HGV Driver) then you will drive company vehicles over the weight of 7.5 tonnes. These can be articulated lorries, tankers, transporters etc.

Your role will be to work with your Transport Manager to plan the routes and drop-offs that are effective and within time constraints and then you would take deliveries to the correct places and unload and return to base. I am very thorough with checking my vehicles including the brakes, oil, water etc and ensuring that my vehicle is safe at all times as I will be travelling a lot of miles I want it to be very efficient. I have a valid passport and have frequently taken loads to Ireland and across the channel and am happy to do this also.

I can concentrate for long periods of time and am happy working with my own company for most of the time. I understand and appreciate that it comes with the territory of the job.
